Absolutely terrible management. Would not have a clue how to run a bar. Need to have some serious training in customer service

I visited this establishment on Saturday with my partner. We were in Crouch End, and my partner went to school in the area and her auntie used to lived around the corner from the pub. We spoke with the bouncer on the door who said it was £5 entry as there was an act on. We explained we were only going to have one and he said that was fine but if we stayed we would have to pay the entry fee. We agreed but we were always intending to stay for one as we were going for dinner. (Kalimera, which is very nice). Once inside we were finding it difficult to be served, we were ignored for what was about 15 mins. Four people who came to the bar after my partner were served. We decided to leave as what was the point in waiting for what was meant to be a quick drink. My partner told the barmaid we were leaving as we were not getting served. It was no big deal as far as we were concerned, but voting with your feet is usually the best way to deal with it. We went out the door and said goodnight to the bouncer. We got about 10 yards down the road when a member of staff in a cheerleader shouted something at us. I turned around and asked “what did you say”? It wasn’t clear enough to hear but was obviously directed at us. She accused my partner of abusing the staff, no such thing happened. We had left at this point so I’m not sure why she was even trying to engage with us. We explained we had not abused anybody, and we’re leaving as we felt we were being ignored by the staff. The owner dressed in full clown outfit, then tells my partner to “f*** off”. He then proceeded to call her other derogatory words. He also challenged me asking “what would I do about it”? All whilst standing behind the bouncer, who it seemed was mortified at their behaviour. I have never in my entire life been so insulted and watched two staff members go from 0-100 over such a minor incident. Having read the reviews of the night after we left at 7:30pm I’m appalled that the owner could act like this. He was visibly drunk whilst shouting abuse, when we pointed this out we were told “it’s Halloween isn’t it”. We actually asked who the owner was because we were genuinely shocked that one would talk to any potential customer like that. We left and went to Kalimera, small beer, queens head and McCaffertys. All of the other establishments were warm and welcoming. I just do not understand the need for any of the aggression from the staff. It was so unimportant and yet was escalated by the staff.

Myself and my partner visited the Harringay Arms last night with the intention of having a drink or two. As I waited at the bar to be served I was ignored 4 times and after a while of waiting and being patient we decided to leave. As we left, a girl dressed in a cheerleader outfit who I presume was another member of staff came out and started shouting at us, at this point the manager/owner appeared and subjected us to the worst abuse. He told us to 'f*** off and when I asked if he was the manager he said he owned the pub and that his name was above the door and he had done very well for himself. He proceeded to abuse my partner and I with such aggression and then called me a 'skank'. In all my years of going out I have never experienced anything like last night. Being ignored at the bar is one thing but then when you leave quietly to then be abused by the owner is seriously something else. This manager/owner along with the other member of staff were clearly drunk and it wasn't even half 7. I fear for this establishment, the level of aggression from this manager/owner really isn't normal. We went to some other lovely pubs after in Crouch End and were welcomed.

Asked us to pay £7 each for a drag show that didn’t happen, then when we complained about it the owner had the bouncer violently remove our entire group, just psychotic behaviour. No need for it at all.

Being here last night was a scary experience. The manager is aggressive and has no regard for his customers’ safety. I planned to visit for a drag show with a large group of around ten people on a Saturday night. After paying £7 entry for the show, we discovered that it wasn’t happening. It was a bit disappointing, but we stayed to have some drinks anyway. Before leaving, my friend asked the manager if she could have her £7 back for the show that didn’t happen. He shoved her outside and then padlocked the door from the inside (which left the busy bar without an obvious fire escape). He then walked around the pub visibly agitated, and spoke to another group about wanting to punch my friend. My partner overheard and told him not to do that, and the manager grabbed him, opened the door again and shoved him outside too. In the commotion the manager’s dog bit my partner’s leg, drawing blood. He then turned on another member of our group and dragged him outside too. I was really worried about the level of force he was using and how easily he could have hit someone’s head on the door frame or caused them to fall on the pavement. We waited outside so we could get our personal items, and the bouncer told us that the manager was now accusing us of stealing his phone, had hit the panic button and the police were on the way. We willingly waited to clear this up with the police, and explained the situation. Obviously nobody was found to have the phone, and several officers wasted about an hour investigating the false claim. Safety is important on a night out - please avoid this nasty place for your own sake. If this continues, someone will get seriously hurt.

A truly disheartening experience - never again. The people flogging pizza have also apparently abandoned ship…

Fantastic pub with lovely garden area :-) me and hubby will pop in often for drinks as it’s such a lovely pub with friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone visiting Crouch End.

Fantastic bar in crouch end really lovely and amazing food really nicely done up the decor is great and the entertainment regular as well and free we love it in there it’s a really lovely place to go for an evening with friends and very reasonably priced too it’s our local go to!

We went to a drag bingo bottomless cocktail/ Prosecco event and were so wishing it would be good as it was relatively local. Compared to other bottomless drag events I have been to, this didn’t hit the mark down mainly to the lack of staff. U have to queue at the bar and this eats into the 1.5hours. also there was a mess with the tkts. Even though they had our names, they still insisted in seeing our tkts before we sat down which also wasted time. Mobile reception was bad to download tkts and it was embarrassing to not be trusted having spend £40 for a tkt. Sadly even tho the staff tried their best, there wasn’t enough people serving. At other bottomless brunches, staff were out on the floor topping up drinks and taking orders. The 1.5 hours of “bottomless” didn’t work efficiently in my opinion and was not value for money. I also watched a person get unreasonably ejected. It left the girl in a vulnerable position of being left on her own. They also felt short changed as they received no food. The act Elsie crumpet was great but everything else fell short unfortunately.

My wife and I popped in to have some drinks and dinner and it was lovely. A cosy, buzzy, little pub with the most incredible Italian food. We had the food downstairs in the pub and the service was fast and with smile, however there's also an Italian restaurant upstairs. The Margherita pizza and Beef Ragu pasta were honestly first class and great value!

Great pub, amazing staff can’t wait to come back. Clay the new manager was so welcoming and so was the staff. Place is the best it could be.

Met Clay the manager and i was welcomed very generously and i promised to return but was distracted will defininitely make it my local from now on. good beer selection, live music, can't wait. will report back.

There are enough Stars to commend the Bar Staff who presided over my friends party. I feel so guilty because I didn’t get their names. They are the loveliest most Professional team. Staff like this make it a pleasure to go out and I hope their management are grateful for their hard work. Lovely pub , great Drinks and fabulous shots. Thanks Guys!!

I have lived in the area for a while and only recently visited the pub for the first time. Such a good vibe and I’m really excited about the drag shows coming up

Cody pub with lovely patio and great barman called Clay, pub quizzes, music drag queens it’s got it all!

We visited for the first time in mid December for some lunch and were really impressed with the tasty food, especially the crispy pizza and also loved the pretty Christmas decorations. Bar staff were polite and friendly throughout our visit. Obviously there are rules you have to follow to keep everybody safe with the circumstances as they are at the moment, but that's all no different than any other place. We have since visited another pub in the same area with the exact same procedure. We really enjoyed our visit here and hope to visit Crouch End again in future at some point.

Least welcoming staff I have ever encountered. Me and my girlfriend came in to meet some friends already inside so we head in to the table only to be shouted at by the woman behind the bar. “EXCUSE ME!!! YOU DONT JUST WALK IN HERE!!!”...

Great pub I've been to for many years. Wonderful people. And the pasta in the new Italian kitchen is amazing! The vodka penne is one of the nicest pastas weve had in years!

I popped into the Harringay arms last night with a friend we had pizza and anti pasta board the food was amazing looked great and tasted even better Also I must disagree with the previous comment I found all the bar staff to be friendly...

Don’t go there. Staff are rude and don’t have a clue. Can’t smile and grumpy awful better places to go.
