Harman Turkish Restaurant in Redbridge

Food was brilliant, with the quality of meat being especially high. We often go for the mixed platter (which is lamb chops, lamb kebabs, boneless chicken, chicken wings, boneless lamb and rice) and it is always very good, and feeds 3 people for £40 easily, such that you won’t need to eat for the rest of the day. There is also unlimited Turkish bread and salad provided for free, and a complementary Turkish delight and Turkish tea at the end of your meal.

Hidden away in Gants hill. Food was great served straight from the Grill Desert taste was superb, baklava tasted so fresh

Food is nice. Service beyond awful. Drinks took 35 minutes to come . Waiters and waitresses didn’t have a clue what is happening. We received a dessert menu before we received our main menu food. Then we were asked to pay the bill but we had not had the bill given to us. Overall the food is absolutely fine however the service was appalling therefore I would not recommend to visit especially if you’re in a large group or want to go for a special occasion.

Spoke to the manager and asked for service. Tables not clean and food on the floor. Advised we would like Turkish coffee and was told to leave. Asked why and he advised us to get out. Have eaten there before and similar unclean floor and tables but they eventually seated us in the worst place and would not let us move. On the flip side, the food was okay but nothing special. I advised them that I saw a mouse and they laughed. I looked at other people around me and they just shrugged. Go there at your own risk, but I will never go there again as it was humiliating.

Saw this place had a 4 * rating overall on Google maps so thought I'd give it a try...someone else mentioned this in a previous review on Google as well but the bread didn't taste as nice as what u normally get in a Turkish place...also the doner meat...maybe it's jus there own way that they do it I don't know...anyways the ribs/chicken I was mostly disappointed with due to the size/portion...what could've been eh 😐 service was quick/friendly...nice looking place inside...

My family had a good time all staff were nice and aware of covid-19 hygiene level wearing mask which is very important!! Food was delicious and big portion of family platter l loved the balloon bread that served freshly to table amazing many Thanks for nice time and delicious food we will visit you again and again 👍

As some of the other reviews waitresses weren't wearing masks or gloves. So not great on being Covid safe. We found our food very salty (ordered to platter for 2-3) and quite overpriced for what we got, price came to over £35 for two people including soft drinks. We didn't finish a quarter of what we ordered, there were also flies as the door was open, which landed on the food put us right off.

Ok so firstly I have to say the waitresses were not wearing masks or gloves and this was quite surprising... so that’s minus a star for Covid hygiene. Started out badly as asked for a glass of prosecco and got a warm glass of white wine. This was replaced with a warm glass of proscecco! So I gave up and ordered a gin and tonic! So minus a star for service. The mixed grill food was actually good. Not great but ok.

My partner & I received a flyer from an employee of Harman Turkish restaurant in early May 2020 and thought we'd give it a go to have some of their dishes delivered after a very busy day. We were not disappointed! Cold starter of 'Sarma' (stuffed vine leaves - very fresh) and 2 hot starters of Falafel and Albanian liver were both excellent. House specials of Lamb Tava, Halep Kebab and Lamb Ribs with a side of rice were all excellent. We were given complimentary fresh salads and fresh Turkish breads - delicious! WARNING - THESE DISHES ARE HUGE! We realised we ordered too much. Just the hot starter of Albaninan liver would serve 2-3 people, easily. We will definitely use Harma again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We were in Gants Hill and wanted Turkish food. Walked past and thought why not. Staff really friendly and helpful. We decided to go for platter, and ordered hot meze, and we we’re offered salad with other sauces/bread. We were not rushed, staff really helpful. Lots of extras.. and we were offered turkish tea too! Felt like such a pleasure to dine here. They accepted card & also was a really nice and clean restaurant.

It was our first time at Harman and we were cheerfully welcomed by Bia into the restaurant. After ordering we received complementary entry salad, sauces and amazing steaming hot bread. The food was plentiful and very filling and the whole service went over and beyond (thank you again Bia!) We recommend Harman to anyone who wants to try traditional Turkish food in the most relaxed and friendly environment :)

I came to this restraunt today with 4 friends on a Saturday night, which was slightly busy but the staff and service was superb. My friend was in a wheelchair and I phoned in advance to notify the staff and was greeted by a very professional member of staff called Murtaza, who assured me that seating would be fine and placed a ramp at the entrance for my friend who was in a wheelchair. After being seated we ordered some starters which arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Presentation was lovely. We then asked Murtaza for his recommendations on meat dishes for our mains and he advised the full platter for us to share. When this arrived it looked and tasted absolutely delicious, whilst every meat was cooked individually to perfection. The portion was massive (even for 5 large guys to be sharing) and they very nicely packed away any food we could not finish. The fries were lovely and fresh, crispy out and soft inside. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and would like to thank Murtaza and all the staff that were very professional and exceeded our expectations. Will be coming back again soon. 👍🏾

Had a wonderful family meal at Harman. First visit and definitely not the last. The service was world class by two lovely ladies, who it didn't feel like we had met for the first time. They were absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious, served hot, fresh and portion size was huge. My first Kunefa was also totally yummy. Would highly recommend this place and a must visit if you are in East London :)

We left as the manager would not make a vegetarian kids meal for us. The waitress was embarrassed but the chef was arrogant and rude. Awful but luckily it meant we went to Sahara down the road which was great !

My role as a successful executive for a financial services company means that I frequently travel to glamorous locations for high powered business meetings. ​ After an uplifting but challenging day in the West Midlands my wife and I wanted nothing more than to unwind in front of one of George Clark's televisual renovations while feasting on some delightful Turkish cuisine. ​ ​ However, I was left apoplectic with rage when a dishevelled pizza arrived in place of the expected Anatolian banquet. ​ ​ After my telephonic protests were dismissed in a high handed manner i was left bereft of sustenance while questioning the moral fibre of all mankind. ​

This place offers a 10% discount as a new customer incentive on your first order, be warned it’s false. Secondly when purchasing via the web you can see major credit cards that you believe you are able to pay through, again false the order once accepted tells you the amount payable is through cash when the delivery arrives, hence making you go the the bank and withdrawing funds that you thought could be paid via the Credit cards as advertised. Buying a platter meal you are provided options to have rice or chips or bread etc.. only for when the food arrives it’s comes as basically described, why on earth have these options available to select then? If it’s an option that is chargeable then state in through the website and if you are allowed to select options provided why don’t you fulfill as advertised.The food is sub standard and I would say a bit of a rip off in terms of price. I have read many positive reviews about this place but in my honest opinion I won’t go back to this tax dodging haven who only accept cash.

As a regular at Turkish restaurants, we are really pleased to see how much this restaurant has improved since frost openi gI really rate the value for money here. Portion sizes are still generous - you notice most of the Turkish places start reducing portion sizes after they start doing well! Five of us ate their this evening and it was excellent. The service was very attentive, the salads excellent and the main courses delicious. All in a ll a very nice evening at a fantastically reasonable price.

Three of us came for a friends early birthday get together. We really enjoyed the food and the staff were very attentive. Food was really tasty and plentiful. We only could manage half our food and took the rest home. I will come back

Best Turkish in Ilford. I've tried them all multiple times and this has the best menu, and food. Sultan is just as good but this place is more spacious and has less queues.

Claim to be open 7 days a week, until 11 PM, but won't answer a call at 8.30 PM and reject your order on just eat. Avoid.

The staff were lovely at this restaurant. I ordered a lamb and chicken shish. The portions were large and it was like a restaurant in Turkey where they provide you with salad, sauces and loads of bread. I would definitely go back.

I come here all the time and regularly get takeaway and the food is always amazing. It functions like a proper turkish restaurant in Turkey that supply bread and salad complimentary at the start of a meal and give you turkish tea if you're waiting for a takeaway. Sarma Beyti is always perfect and the yogurt is amazing. The portion sizes are perfect. ONLY only complaint was that last time I ordered on the phone and they bought the beyti wrap and not the sarma beyti with tomato and yogurt, so I am due another trip! If they got onto just eat, delivery etc then it would be perfect to put my order in via an app to stop anything going wrong, or even an ordering system on their website, an email, anything!? My favourite beyti in the whole of london!! Tesekurlerr!!

Had a gathering with friends and ordered huge platters for 5/6 people. Large portions, nice people. Ideal for birthday bashes, they put in some music and a cake with candles. Great laugh!

We visited this restaurant as a family get together the food was good reasonable prices good choice the portions are big so try sharing

First of all, I would like to point something out here. For people who know this place, they know that it is the best Turkish kitchen in the area. For people who comment on how the toilet was cold, (like really??) And give a bad review, shame on you! 95%+ of the people that come to this place know why they come back. For the 4/5% who want to write bad reviews,(probably rival competitors ) please at least write something sensible.

This place was not for me sadly. Ordered the mixed kebab, which was a decent size and looked nice but was quite slimy I thought. Not sure if it was a coating or oil or what but I didn't enjoy the texture of the food at all. Service was fairly poor considering we were one of only 3 tables in there at the time, seemed there was never anyone when we wanted them and we waited ages for the bill. Their English wasn't great which didn't help unfortunately. Also the toilet is freezing!! Ridiculously so! I won't be going back here

I give one star because I cannot give less worst food we order chicken shawarma and lamb shawarma they was like coming from fridge never comeback there too expensive

If you enjoy Turkish food then you won't be disappointed. The food is amazing and the value for money is fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Authentic dining. Dined alone as on a business trip was made very welcome and put at ease. Portions are large, however if you don't get to finish them they will ask if you would like to take it away and wrap it all up for you. If I had to visit the area again for work I would book the hotel close to this restaurant so I could go again.

I love Turkish food and eat in many Turkish restaurants across North London. I was taken here for dinner by my brother for the first time and was hugely impressed. The mixed lamb and chicken shish dish I had was perfectly cooked/seasoned and really delicious. Lamb cooked on a charcoal grill is easily overcooked, but this was really perfect. The salad, fresh bread and sauces served at the start were really delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Well done and thank you for a great meal and extremely good value.

intro I used to go almost every weekend with my gf, then they started buying a lamb from a different supplier and it was sooooooooo good, i could tell straight away i mentioned this to the owner and he said he had changed supplier, anyways things have changed since then and gotten really bad, no hyperbole.

Went with friends last night .. food was really good unfortunately I can say the same thing about the service ... it was quite a packed restaurant .. we ordered four starters which were like I said really nice .. to be honest we weren’t sure about mains so we said we would order after we had our starters .... we were given the bread which was lovely and hot but no dips or salad ...

Best Turkish food I’ve had in years. Well presented Fresh Tasty Everything you want in a good wholesome meal And yes, they were busy but don’t come here if your in a Hurry come here if your Hungry, coz you won’t be disappointed.

I wish that in this restaurant the customer service would continue to be great like the first time. Our first night at this restaurant was magnificent. The food was out of this world. Even though, it was around closing time, the staff gave us 100% of their attention. It was superb. That made us want to go back... We ordered the falafel platter, or falafel complete as I say it. For 10 pounds, it was great. The Turkish naan or bread (was excellent), the salad, the sauces, later falafel and rice. It was filling. Everything was great. You will ask why then it didn't earn the "Excellent".

I love this restaurant, if possible this is our always go to restaurant. I highly recommend pan prawns and garlic mushrooms from starts. It’s amazing!!!

Stopped here to pick up some food on a long drive home. Lovely, friendly staff, who even offered me a cup of tea while I waited for my order. We had a mixed wrap and a lahmacun. It was hands down the best takeaway Turkish food we have ever eaten and the portions were really big, excellent value for money. We will be back! Thank you

This restaurant offers a very good takeaway menu. We had 'Mix Platter 2' which gives you 3 kebabs, chicken wings, lamb donor and lamb ribs. You also get rice, bulgar, fresh mixed salad, hummus,cacik, onion salad and bread. The platter is sufficient for 3 people and costs £23. Excellent value for freshly cooked and well presented takeaway. Orders can be rang in or you can walk in off the street. Should you have to wait for your food to be cooked/packaged, staff always offer a complimentary Turkish tea to customers. Great value, great food - we will be back again!!!
