Nice place but nothing to write home about

We were married and held our reception here. Kellie was amazing from the first consultation until the end of our wedding day . Great package price. lovely food and really friendly professional staff. Can't recommend enough. Thank you for making our day so special everyone 💗

It was a private function, so o can't answer a lot of these questions

Staff appeared to struggle to cater for 2 large parties as most people had finished their meals by the time the last person was served! My Steak was tough and dry it was returned half eaten The children at the party enjoyed running around and playing in the outside space which was a godsend!

Used room for get-together. Sandwiches, chips, etc. Good amount.

Went here for my 50th birthday family meal. Ben the lad that served us was great. I can be awkward with food and changed the garlic bread and salad for chips which they allowed. The food came out quickly and was lovely. The atmosphere was just right and we got a voucher book first Sunday roast and stamped 10 times you get one free. 3 people had it so a good start! Everyone enjoyed their meal. There is a door direct to the restaurant so you don't have to go through the bar. There is a huge car park at the side. We will definitely be back . Good value, good options, good food.

Strange that they ran out of Fish on Fish Friday by 12 30 om on a Friday....yet served others with fish after us....hmmm oint visit again....

We only popped in here for a drink and the staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was great in the bar area. There's a wood burner usually going opposite the bar and there is a slightly dingy restaurant at the back. The bar is dog friendly, which only adds to the atmosphere. The food menu looked great so we'll be back.

The food was late coming out, they gave us free half of garlic bread for the wait. The food came out and it was lovely. Really worth the wait!

Celebrated my 60th birthday there lovely food and service great atmosphere would recommend.

Had to walk through the bar to get to the restaurant part, was dead the whole time we were there, took our order and was friendly and welcoming. Had a coke / Pepsi which was completely flat. Only issue was it was cold inside which wasn’t ideal especially having a little one with us. Server said I’d not ordered a side when I had, did apologise and bring it out after finding I had in fact ordered it. But shouldn’t have said I hadn’t when he hadn’t checked. You do not blame the customer. The strong smell of weed as we were leaving the restaurant (obviously coming from customers in the bar). **needs more outdoor lighting** Old school pub, was a little run down and hadn’t been modernised in awhile. Wouldn’t come again.

Had a lovely meal staff were polite but a bit busy as the restaurant was full they forgot my side dish but did apologise the food was delicious

Super place.. spent New Year’s Eve here. So the atmosphere was great. Staff where excellent and very polite even though they were run of there feet! Food delish 😋 excellent service from the staff again!

We love meeting up here for food, old work friends together. Could do with a bit more heat in the back rooms but apart from that excellent food and great staff, very attentive highly recommend

Such lovely people and such a clean pub great family atmosphere with lovely music in the back ground to enjoy your time with the bar staff was so help full and as soon as u get to the bar there is staff serving u or telling u just a moment and I will be with u after this customer big shout out to Dan as he served me that night and his professional attitude was 10/10

Cute little country pub. Kids play area would be good but the floor needs drainage/repair as the area below the swings was a mud puddle. Would return.

A flawless Wedding service and reception My wife and I held our wedding service and reception at The Hare and Hounds in August. From start to finish Kellie and her team went above and beyond helping to make our wedding a success and give lasting memories to us and our guests for the rest of our lives. The ceremony room is intimate and beautiful and the best we saw when looking at potential venues.Meanwhile the function room is lovely too with plenty of room and a decking area to spill out on if the weather is nice which it was for us. The food was AMAZING!! Both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet. All of our guests dietary requirements were met without compromise on quality of food. A lot of our guests will be returning to the venue for meals on the basis of the food served to them especially our vegetarian guests. We cannot recommend highly enough this venue for your wedding ceremony and reception. We weren't treated as customers we were treated as friends and so were our guests. Lovely pub, staff are very helpful and friendly and there's a cozy family feeling to the whole place. Food is brilliant and worth the price. Also great if you just want a pint and soak up the traditional pub environment. Kellie the land lady has transformed this establishment into a thriving and welcoming local.

Lovely place, food is lovely just great I had pizza and i was able to to get a pizza box to take the rest home as didn’t finish. The atmosphere here is great people are friendly, they allow families and dogs which is good also ! They are very welcoming staff always treat you with a smile and ask if everything is okay. I was met by a lady called Sarah who served me she was really friendly and welcoming. I would recommend as I had no problems during my visit.

Returned here after attending a valentine's special many years ago where everything was amazing so we thought we would have our anniversary meal here but I wish I hadn't. The staff were friendly, they set a nice table but that's where it ended. My steak was very chewy, I did eat it as I usually don't like to waste food but I just couldn't get through the rest. Onion rings were filled with oil, chunky chips that were just frozen from a packet and deep fried. The side salad had a few bits that were edible but the lettuce was wilted and the cucumber tasted like chemicals and I had to spit it out. Husband had the lamb which he said was nice but again the roast potatoes were the cheap frozen ones and weren't very nice. Toilets were dirty and a bit smelly. The place is generally run down, dirty doors, paint coming off, kids play area is literally a swing and slide for a pre school age and only room for one child. Bill was £50 even though they knocked a bit off for my bad food. Personally wouldn't ever return and wouldn't recommend. The owner was standoffish and insisted the food was totally fine and she likes it....... It's a shame as they did say their food is freshly cooked but that would require them to peel and oven cook a real fresh potato, not get it from a packet. They need to look up what fresh means. We spoke to another couple that were sat opposite and they pulled a face and said the food wasn't much good but they didn't feel brave enough to speak up as they were there the next day for a funeral and didn't want to feel awkward

We celebrated a 50th party here. Had a fantastic night. Room was nice and clean with a great dance floor. Prices were very reasonable. Would recommend hiring this room for any gathering.

I attended a wake of a lovely lady. Good sized carpark. The entrance most used was to the left of the carpark through the restaurant but can also use the bar door. Very good buffet and lots to drink with friendly staff.

Attended a private function the back room, a nice time was had by all,the staff were friendly and we didn't have to Wait to be served even though it was very busy , there was a band on in the main bar sounding great ,a great place will return.

male owner extremely rude. staff friendly, pub freezing all punters are wearing coats and scarfs. would not recommend. 1 star is debatable. drink not muchl cop either.

I have given no stars and would strongly advise do not visit this establishment as the pub is freezing, if you still want to visit i would recommend dressing for the winter as warmer outside (January) the fire is barely on and even the female owners hubby wears a hoody, looking for a nice country pub i would suggest the horse & jockey

Went her for my Nans wake lovely room and the food they put on was delious.

Had a lovely Christmas period disco on Xmas eve and boxing day dinner here. Couldn't fault it!

Great atmosphere very welcoming. Very busy but plenty of staff to attend to your needs. Lovely open fires on a very cold night made it very cosy. Definitely be back.

Very friendly welcoming establishment

Great venue. We hosted a wake here and they made it very easy. Very willing to help with catering for vegetarians and vegans. They also allowed us to bring in decorations to make it more personal. I would definitely recommend this place for anything from a Sunday lunch with your partner to a gathering of hundreds of guests. Great food and lovely people.

Food OK … but loud music AND loud football commentary on TV doesn’t make for a comfortable experience … AND on only one real ale on tap!

The pub itself is lovely and the food is great, it's just the side building used for private parties is really dated, the toilets are in desperate need of updating, and the place is quite dark and cold.

If I could give this place 0 stars that's what I would give them. I was out at this place with my family for food that was either cold or like a complete brick. I would not recommend this place and would I go back there certainly NO.
