Have visited this pub a couple of times this year with friends while on a bus tour, and have always been made to feel welcome. Fantastic hospitality from Chris, and great beer as well

This was a visit for lunch but sadly they were not cooking. Even so, a very friendly welcome and internally the hare and hounds is a lovely cozy pub with a huge fire place and beams. There is a seperate restaurant area. We ended up having some drinks one of which the landlord gave us for free due to a mix up on the lemonade. Dog friendly and a large garden with a small seating area and car park. Visited 12th May 2022.

Excellent Sunday lunch at the Hare and Hounds today. Super warm and friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent roast with homemade horseradish and real roast potatoes with homemade Yorkshire puddings. Highly recommended.

After 5 months of being closed due to the Covid-19 virus and roadworks outside the pub has reopened, on reduced hours to begin with. The pub have taken the safety of its customers and staff very seriously, and has social distancing in place throughout the pub, there were ample sanitiser stations, and a 1 in 1 out system for the toilets. The pub isn’t able to offer food at the present time, but has lots of crisps, chocolate and ice creams if you’re peckish. The restaurant will reopen as soon as it is able to. The garden is huge and offers lots of seating, most of it under gazebos in case of rain. The garden is tastefully decorated with fairy lights and candles, the pub also provides blankets which are sanitised between customers, so you can sit and watch the sunset over the open fields from the comfort of the patio. The pub deserves its Cask Marque award as the local Hooky beer and cider tastes as good as it gets. Service was impeccable as usual from the family run business. A little gem of a pub in the beautiful English Countryside!

When all pubs and now open this one remains strangely quiet. They have put promises out to reopen, so far nothing!! Come on guys you’re losing customers and your reputation!! Obviously you don’t care about the village and location you serve! Give it up and let someone else do a better job!

Bas, Ton and the team were fantastic to us during our stay in Wardington over Christmas 2019. Complimentary nibbles teamed with friendly service and great drinks meant we felt very welcome and got to know them in a short space of time. These guys are fairly new on the block so all the support is needed. Great job so far, highly recommended.

Ton and his family took over a few months ago and have relaunched this great pub. In a different way they have updated and carried on the great hospitality and generosity of Carol and Jamie with a new sensitive refurbishment and a great range of pub food. After a bumpy start, with the new chef well ensconced, the quality of food is just great...honest pub food! Consistent quality. It’s so good to see a village pub with a new lease of life and a young local guy running with it....they are a lovely family. Wardington is very lucky! Give it another try.....

Met friends for a Christmas get together at the Hare and Hounds. What a pleasure it was, the pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas, log fire burning, mulled wine for sale, Christmas tree up and festive music playing. My meal was promptly served and delicious, I had perfectly cooked prawns with chili to start and then went for the Roast Turkey dinner. I couldn’t fault it, succulent turkey with the best roast potatoes, roasted parsnips and carrots, sprouts, broccoli in a cheesy sauce, pigs in blankets, gravy and cranberry sauce. I then had the chocolate brownie with macadamia nuts and vanilla ice cream, delicious. We then moved to the lounge chairs around the log fire for mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies. I truly felt Christmas had arrived. I can’t recommend the Hare and Hounds enough. Well done to Ton, the new landlord, you have transformed the pub and I will be visiting again soon for another tasty meal.

Spur of the moment weekend stop at the Hare and Hounds. The bar was busy and very cosy, looking stylishly Christmassy! So lovely to go to a pub with such a friendly landlord and where he and the obvious locals make you feel welcome. We both had a late morning 'all day breakfast' which really hit the spot.Certainly a hearty portion so go hungry! The rest of the menu had many temptations so we look forward to returning very soon

Been in a few times for drinks and food- rustic and comfortable decor in a charming village (great for people passing through, like cyclists.) The landlord was very friendly and more than happy to help, and the food was delicious. Will be returning!

The menu advertised on line isn’t what is offered when you get there. The dining room was freezing with no atmosphere but the bar was packed with lots of noise. We ordered the Thai Green Curry which was so spicy it was inedible. The waitress didn’t care she said she would pass our comments on to the chef. No reduction on the bill nor an offer of a replacement meal. Definitely won’t be returning ☹️

Just stopped for lunch on our way home from Banbury. Food was delicious! I had the pie and mash it was amazing . Wish I had had room for pudding. We were made to feel very welcome especially the dog. I'm sure it won't be long before we go back.

Since coming under new management this year the pub has really been given a new lease of life. The team are super friendly and helpful and always ready with a smile. The interior re-vamp looks great with lots of village history on the walls. It has a great garden to sit in when the weather plays ball and the bar is about as proper old English pub as you can get, it's very characterful and charming. The food is superb, home made, very tasty and really good value for money. I would definitely recommend a visit.

So glad to see the Hare and Hounds has reopened. Second visit today since it opened again. Lovely friendly staff, good beer and a BBQ running today as the restaurant isn’t yet open yet. Had a fantastic burger with relish and potato salad - all for £3. Best wishes for the future - we will be back - probably tomorrow...

Six cycling (non lyric) retired men from the Leamington on their weekly Friday cycle ride, stopped for food and refreshments at Hare & Hounds. This was our third visit to this fine establishment, the previous being in 2017 and 2016.

Whilst driving along the A361 in a Banbury direction, through a hideous thunder storm, I happened across this rural jewel of an inn and sought respite from driving through rain and fork lightening with wipers on double speed.

We had a lovely meal last week, sitting outside. The food was superb, and the service was efficient and friendly. I can recommend the home made nachos. Probably the best I’ve ever had! And a good choice of vegetarian dishes too. The place has a lovely atmosphere whether you’re going for a meal or just to enjoy a drink.

Thank you to Kerry for welcoming us to the Crown and allowing us to visit on a trip to Charlton on Otmoor to research family history. The pub is lovely and full of history - although we had to be on the road back home by the time it opened for customers, I will be back as I need to bring my friend's whose family used to keep the inn back in the 1800s and will stay for a drink and soak up the atmosphere. Kerry was lovely to talk too and shared some stories about the pub, which was kind of her as she was getting ready to open. Based on meeting Kerry, I know you will get a great welcome at the pub.

Another fabulous evening meal in the Lodge at the Muddy Duck. Lovely cheerful staff, prompt service and great food served hot as it should be. This is still the best pub for miles around and well worth a visit. The only negative is (still) the absence of a lovely welcoming fire. The room is begging for it.
