Great food and friendly service

Normally love coming to Harbury Catch as it’s the best fish and chips around. However, I went in at 9pm after checking that they close at 9:30pm and stood there waiting to be served. There was one person tidying things up by the fryers and one person sitting at one of the tables. I waited to be served but wasn’t acknowledged. In the end I walked back out and got something elsewhere.

The most delicious fish and chips in the area. The chips in particular are mega.

the food from here is amazing over the last few months I have tried quite a bit of the menu and none of it disappoints . The chips are the best and I don’t normally eat chip shop chips until I tried these ones

There is literally nothing to complain about. Clean and tidy, great food, friendly staff, a must for anyone wanting great chip shop food.

Before going to try a any new restaurant, I always read the Reviews, Almost all of the reviews here are great, but I found a few that were pretty bad. Finally I tried myself and to be Honest, the food was exceptional, the staff friendly and welcoming and the place is well decorated, worthy of a great restaurant. So when I read opinions such as (the door was open and it's cold or not enough salt on my fries) I find it stupid. In short, I heartily recommend!

We went to Harbury Catch on monday the 14th of October and it was the best chip shop experience we have ever had the atmosphere was great and the food was perfect it was actually better then normal and the service was on point

Visited twice , love the interior. Ordered chips , great texture and taste. Service was friendly and thorough. Like the buzzer system fir waits. Would recommend .

Came in on a Sunday, ordered a kebab burger and skin on fries. Food was given to me fresh and warm. Have been going to harbury catch from day one, and I have never had a problem with the food, Ice-creams etc. Service is always friendly and food is always amazing. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Pre ordered 2 gluten free fish and chips for 5pm. The phone line was really bad so had to repeat myself multiple times. Arrived to find the food wasn't ready. I was most disappointed when I unpacked the food and found the large fish was what I'd expect of a small fish. I then opened the bag of chips to find they weren't the "luxury" chips just standard chips. I paid over £30 for 2 fish and chips. I would say these were one of the worst gluten free fish and chips I've ever tasted.

On our way home to East Yorkshire from Malvern it was teatime and time for something to eat. Purely but chance the Harbury Catch came up on Google so dropped by. Pleased we did, excellent food, nicely prepared and very pleasant staff.

Amazing food! had the lamb wrap and chips - 10/10 definitely coming back. You can tell the food is fresh, would recommend.

I travel a lot for work so I try a lot of different takeaways , I can tell you this chip shop is one of the best I have tried the food is all cooked fresh and tastes amazing and the choices are fantastic , also if you still have room they also have some fantastic deserts . Friendly staff and fairly priced for the amount of great food you get highly recommended

Best restaurant I have been to in a long while, the chips were perfect and the fish to die for but the best part was definitely the staff, it's quite rare to see people that warm and helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

Best "Posh" fish and chip anywhere ! The ice cream is also amazing. Try the gravy.........that's all I'm saying.

I Have been eating here for a while and always rate this place.Today i got 4 cod and chips and they were horrible.Chips didn’t taste cooked and hard and soggy.Fish seems to of downsized yet price gone up.Curry sauce nice.Such a shame as we travel 30 mins to come here for a treat and after spending £60 today i won’t be returning.

Have to say was great food and service however. Recently just eaten fish n chips and the quality has gone down hill a lot far from there best and at those prices they shouldn’t Chips soaked fat and fish portions are nearly half size.barely a reflection of the last encounters yes prices go up but quality should never be taken lightly like the batter on fish was just mush in places and the chip consistency wasn’t there either tasting old and reheated not to say they are but the chips were foul. And looking at half size fish just takes the biscuit. Won’t travel there again can get mush on me door step for a lot less.

Probably the best fish and chips I’ve had! Always cooked fresh to order, waiting time is reasonable as they are cooking to order,so don’t get inpatient and complain,it isn’t like maccies. It’s actual fresh food ! I had the sausage and chips, and my god the Irish curry sauce is the best! The manager is always lovely and so are the staff, they all work hard non stop, I always come here on a night ,or even come for a milkshake,which is always great. Prices are also reasonable!

Worst service known to man. Got shouted at by what I can only assume is the owner as his incompetent workers left my chips on the side for 15 mins before making my meal. So asked for fresh chips to be told they have only been out 1 min / 3 mins by various people. Could have just apologised and got on with it. No such thing as customer is right at this place Time stamp on the receipt clearly shows I was waiting 20 mins and got told I was lying about how long I have been waiting. Very unprofessional. Learn how to treat your customers especially when they are paying £15 for meat and chips. Safe to I will not be returning after being spoken to like that.

I’m new in the area and someone recommended this place to me by saying it’s the best fish and chips, with the chips being really really good. I gave it a try and I have to say this place goes straight to the Podium 🏆🏆🏆. I wasn’t sure what to order so I was given a little try of the sauces and the chips. They were so yummy… the Irish curry sauce is truly amazing. My food was really good and tasty, you can tell is fresh. I ordered a small dish from the lunch menu and was enough to make me full! I’m certainly coming back for more! Food and service Top Notch!

The chicken was nicely cooked however the salad was not fresh on the burgers and they were very soggy. The chips were also definitely not fresh and the food is poor quality for the premium prices paid.

I don’t think its an exaggeration to say they serve the greatest chips in the history of the planet.

Absolutely hands down best chip shop I’ve been to since living in Warwick. Fish and chips were nice and crisp not soggy and I tried the sun lover gelato cake which was some of the best cake I’ve had. Definitely be coming back

poor quality food - delivered in expensive packaging. We were recommended this chippy from a friend and decided to use it than that our usual 2 or 3 that are in our area. We were very disappointed. The small fish and chip combo meal had a tiny piece of fish surrounded by huge quantity of chips. All the chips were orange in colour. Yes crispy on the outside but undercooked and rubbery on the inside. It left a weird slimy taste in your mouth. Strange. The prices on some of the things are ridiculous - £3.75 for curry sause... we were expecting something a bit special - it was no better than the curry sauce we get from our usual chippy that charges a quid for a portion. This place is trying to be something it's not. You're just paying for fancy packaging. I'm very surprised it has such high reviews. We'll back to our other usual chippies which are nearly a 1/3 cheaper and higher quality.

Absolutely brilliant spot! We usually do a large order every Saturday. Customer service is always 10/10 (and the manager is lovely). The food is fresh and delicious and the portion sizes are great (we love a generous restaurant). And, the restaurant itself is beautiful, nice seating areas inside and outside.

Pie is stone cold. Not good enough as good was ordered because they closed

Really disappointed that I’ve just got home with my order to find out they have covered it with salt and vinegar when stated none of the order and the receipt stapled to the bag! I shouldn’t have to check my food before leaving…but I guess I will have to next time. Waste of money!!!

I recently visited Harbury catch and was thoroughly impressed with entire experience. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a perfect flaky texture, enveloped inca crispy,golden batter that wasn't overly greasy. The chips were the ideal complement thick cut crispy and portion size were generous, offering excellent value for the price. I felt like I truly got my money's worth.

Never known a chip shop as slow as this one tray of chips 30 minutes wait time.

Can’t say I rate this wanna be london fish and chip shop. Don’t stand near the counter, get you little fancy buzzer thing and wait outside or in your car until it buzzes. Rather go to my local fish shop in Bishop’s and keep it real!!! First and last time I will ever come here 🙄🙄🙄

Absolutely brilliant experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile by the lovely owner. The fish and chips were simply out of this world. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a crispy golden batter that encased the most tender and flavorful fillet I've ever tasted. The chips were equally impressive, wonderfully crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It's clear that only the freshest ingredients are used here, and the attention to detail is impeccable. But the culinary delights don't stop at the fish and chips. They also offer a range of heavenly gelato that is not to be missed. With a variety of flavors that are both classic and inventive, there's something to please every palate. Incredibly smooth and rich. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by 😊

Tried for the first time tonight after hearing many rave reviews from friends and neighbours. We all had different things (kebab, chicken burger, fish) and we all thought the food was excellent (not overly greasy, good quality ingredients, batter is light). The one thing to say is the portions are large. None of us could finish our food (the chips are especially good). The Harbury Catch may be more expensive than others but its quality and quantity is worth every pence.

Chips in a Box are amazing, but customer service is so poor, tried to pay by card, nothing to say min spend amount anywhere, then was told I cannot pay by card as min spend is £5. Had to leave..............

My perception is that most people will be initially sceptical thinking Harbury Catch too expensive in comparison to other fish 'n' chip shops. However if they try it they'll agree there's a reason for the price and they'll keep coming back. The main USP are the lightly battered chips that are fluffy inside but crisp on the outside. Hits the spot in the same way, but nowhere near as stodgy as a traditional chip shop chip The "small" cod portion is certainly on the small side, but is cooked well and was crisp. Have had "regular" before which is more comparable to a "small" from other chip shops. Full array of sauces to go with to cater for t'Northern contingent but Southern softies like myself also (why anyone would have mushy peas out of choice when there's curry sauce is beyond me...) Do expect to wait for your order as it is a popular destination. Along with the traditional chip shop fare there are also many other options including burgers and fried chicken (had fried chicken on a previous visit and was good).

Oh my, it has everything - sweet, savoury and excellent customer service! I love the fact,there's plenty of seating areas. Food outstanding - large portions.

Really good fish and chips, the chicken burger was good as well, nice Buns. Choice of curry sauces fantastic, all tasted amazing and the tartar sauce was better than normal fish and chip shop stuff. All round a good meal, just marred by the staff forgetting to put chips in my order then when I went to get them I was asked to prove I had ordered said chips and was left waiting while they sorted out the till. I was charged an extra £2 something and added an lost an extra 5 minutes of my life.... Good food, middling service

Our first visit today, found the restaurant ’by accident’ whilst looking for somewhere else & thought it was worth a look/try. We weren’t disappointed, it was lunchtime & busy but because of the pager system there was no queue & the food was cooked fresh to order. We both had a combo meal, cod, chips & mushy peas. All of the food was so good, the fish was exceptional, fresh, flaky & the batter was not greasy. The chips were delicious, they have a slight batter coating which meant they were crispy outside, not had them like this before, we were both a fan though! All of the staff we spoke to were so friendly & helpful, the owner was lovely, going round making sure everyone was happy (which we were) The restaurant itself was immaculately clean too. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. I normally peel the batter off the fish, but not here, it's crisp and not greasy.

Not very tasty tbh not worth the price as far as fish and chips, the chips were weird for over £5, the fish needed cooking a min or 2 longer and the peas were horrible.

The servers were great the only problem was the wait time which is to be expected for such an amazing chippy, genuinely best I’ve ever had, atmosphere was lush and they even serve ice cream and gelato. Food was impeccable

I love this place it's the best chippy ever. Took a risk and ordered something diff than the usual and had SF chicken and chips and it was immense. The chicken portions were huge and so tasty and the chips as usual were amazing. Might be more expensive but so worth it.

Probably the best fish and chips in the midlands, definitely the best in Warwick. Something about the chips just makes them taste fantastic. Everything is also very reasonably priced compared to other higher end fish and chips I've tried

I ordered a Kebab with chips and salad yesterday evening. The kebab was cold and dry. My tummy feeling a bit funny afterwards. A bit disappointed 😞

Ordered a medium sized cod with chips and the piece of cod was barely longer than my index finger - for FIFTEEN QUID. I’ve seen bigger minnows let alone Cod.

The cod delivered was mashed in the container and tiny. I ordered a cod and they sent out a mini fish. The chips were also mushed by the curry pot as well, but the sausage was fine.

Food tasty and great as always! The only side that let it down was they missed off my salad on the kebab and chips order which would have balanced it out nicely

Won't be ordering again though charged me £9 for a sausage and chips but only sent me a sausage absolutely disgusting

Fish was luke warm and soggy and didn’t look at all appetising. Not what we’ve come to expect from Harbury Catch. Would submit a photo if I were able to.

Love this place. Very nice small and cozy. Food is good and portion sizes are enormous. Kids love coming here specially with Gelato parlour now In house. Great alternative to going in to town.

Haddock the size of a mini cod and charge you £9, nothing seems to to be cooked as had ti wait 15 minutes for fish(apparently) and soggy chips

Ordered chicken curry and chips. Not great. Curry was far far too spicy to the point I couldn't eat it and I love a spicy curry usually. Chips also weren't great but OK. First bad meal have had from here as order once or twice a month. Will order from here again and hope it's a one off.
