The best fish and chip shop ever! The people are the sweetest people you will ever meet and they brightened my day more than they’ll ever know. Would always recommend!! Really did make my day!

Nice place food was lovely but if you are in a wheelchair you have to sit side ways which makes it hard to eat as chairs are fixed and you can't move them

Had toasted sandwich & a toasted baguette along with 2 coffee cost nearly £19.00 no crisps or salad with toasties as elsewhere in exmouth and all pretty ok, maybe a little more thought in food might help to get customers to comeback !

Could do with a lick of paint and a bit of background music but staff were pleasant and the flapjack very tasty.

WOW, THE FISH AND CHIPS ARE AMAZING, my husband and I have been coming to Exmouth for 3 years, only this time we picked up Fish & Chips from this chip shop at the beach front, WOW we were so pleased we did, Fish & Chips were cooked fresh for your order, the staff were really friendly, certainly 5* . Personally I think the front of the shop dosnt do it justice for some reason, that's why we didn't go there before. BUT gosh so glad we have found this gem.

Only had a cup of tea sat outside just off beach. Lovely staff.

OK, for breakfast, if you know what I mean, they also do fish and chips, but others do it better, and parking is horrendous.

Has always looked the same, and truly hope it never changes. Is it as swanky as some of the new places along the seafront? No. But I’ll never always opt for the Habour View as it has a real charm and the food/service is a notch above the rest. It’s also great value.

Best cafe in Exmouth. Lovely friendly staff, delicious food. Look after the local young people by accepting work experience placements if feasible. Lovely community and visitors place to meet. Dogs welcome.

Great place and food with vires of the beach

The best fish & chips I’ve had in a long time. Service very quick, food was freshly cooked and was exceptional. Prices were slightly cheaper than the average. The staff were friendly. We sat outside on the benches at the rear of the building. If I’m honest the whole building and outside needs a bit of an over all, it looks tired. BUT THOSE FISH AND CHIPS WERE GOOD, I’m local so I will be back

Wow!!! This fish and chips shop is so good it's nostalgic! Prices are good, staff are friendly and welcoming, fast and efficient. I ordered as a group and everything that came out was spot on. Fish is fresh, battered is delicious and the chips are perfect. If you haven't been you're really missing out. Already can't wait to go back, thanks lads!!

Revisited again this year, Aug 2024. Still the same great menu and good food, they got our order a bit wrong but they sorted it out quickly with no fuss, so still 5 stars from me, looking forward to visiting again next year 2023 Excellent value for money, we always make a point of having breakfast there when we visit Exmouth. Dog Friendly and in a great spot with brilliant views.

The fish and chips were lots in one bach. It was quickly cooked even do there was a long line.

Customer service awful! Just dumped food on counter and had to bag up my own food, doesn't take much to talk to customers and offer a bit of service

I just had the worst fish and chips in my life. We paid £40, and I was surprised because they gave me my order straight away. When I opened it to eat, I realised that it was all soggy, full of oil, and with the taste of paper. It made me feel very sick. 😫 It is the second time I have bought fish and chips from there. The first time was similar, but I couldn't believe that it could be true. Today, I tried again. People, please stay away from these people who don't care about you, only about their profits, especially if you have kids. Mine are not well after this experience.

I mean things taste better when you eat them outside, especially by the seaside, but I'm this case it dis not really hit the right spot. And as the saying goes "I would not write home about it" - this would be the place.However, reviews are needed for feedback. I think their served fish (we got cod) was gorgeous, but.. batter was a bit on the watery side which led wish being flat. Batter has not saved enough of the gorgeous flaky fish to be enjoyed well and overall kinda flopped on the chips. I think, if they were to keep chips cold, possibly even frozen before cooking they would be less soggy when cooked and served. Good salt and vinegar proportion to the meal, but.. would not be in the hurry to come back as it did not impress me that much.

Harbour View does a great sausage and bacon roll, full and tasty!

Had chips on tuesday 25th june 2024. They were greasy ,just dunked into fat, cold soft and mushey. The boys serving had no idea how to cook them. Disgusting experience

Great place to go and some chips. They are really tasty. You get all the typical food stuff from there at reasonably priced.

We got our sausage and chips here today. Lovely food but the most important thing was the young lad serving was so welcoming, polite and such a lovely manner, which isn't found in these public places very often. Well done young lad, we will definitely be coming back!! 👍

Please can you check the dates on your ice cream I had a mint corneto on Sunday the 9th of June the date was 02 24 started eating and didn't taste good took it back only to be given another out of date one. Have felt ill since and had an upset stomach not happy.

I didn’t ‘eat’ here but I did request if they had a kettle for hot water for my baby’s bottle/flask instead of the hot boilers that other nearby eatery’s including restaurants seem to be offering, which they were able to provide! As it is recommended by NHS that baby formula water isn’t repeatedly heated, especially due to the bacteria in these hot boilers, this was REALLY helpful so I would definitely try eating here another time because it’s important to me that my baby can enjoy his lunch whilst I do! Thank you for my visit today! Happy Baby & Mum : -)

Lovely batter and the chips are nice and crunchy, shame the other shops around it are closed but that means the seats behind the chippy are usually free

Went in there on off chance for lunch ,friendly staff great food .

Someone said it was a greasy spoon cafe, didn't realise the rest of the cutlery, seating and general area were greasy as well. The smell in there was not good and looked really tired (ripped chairs etc) much nicer places close by worth spending your money at.

A true treasure that is hidden in plain sight . There is not much advertising for the cafe apart from a small sign above the door, that says, "Self Service Cafe". They have views of the beach and outdoors seating that is just beach side. There is accessible access along the right side of the building. The food is very reasonably priced and it was served hot and delicious. They have what looked like a fantastic breakfast, or you can build your own breakfast from a selection of items. No it is not swanky like the new cafes and restaurants further down the shoreside, but having dined at both of them this definitely is the place that I would go to again. The food was better tasting, better value and served with essentially the same view. I loved the cedar panels and the character of a cafeteria from days gone by. Location is under the trees across from the new nature deprived entertainment venue . These are the only three trees I can see along the promenade. Shame new development is cutting down nature.

The takeaway is good, but some aspects of the restaurant are disappointing. The generic sauces are supplied in sachets, and the brown sauce, in particular, is best avoided, as its resemblance to HP is limited to its colour. If you put it on directly it can spoil the taste of your food. Most of the loos were out of service. Apart from the above, the food was fine. Order at counter, get a numbered ticket, and collect when ready.

Enjoyed take away Sausage, Fishcake and chips. They were just closing up so only had what was left in the warmer and chips. The Sausage Fishcake and chips were really good. The curry sauce eas the best I've had and the mushy peas and gravey were also very tasty. Service was friendly and fast.

On the long walk back from the town to the lifeboat station carpark the Cate and chipshop is agob send to a walking visitor I can't comment on the food as we didn't have any but the service was quick and the brew was just the best and the seat was exactly what was needed by us thank you

A long wait but the fish was done to perfection. Very expensive at £12 as there was very small portion of chips and a medium ish sized fish. Husband asked for a batted sausage and got a plain one also with small portion of chips.

Just popped in for a cuppa, not very clean empty tables were dirty, the girl clearing them did not carry a cloth to clean as she went, either not bothered Management or badly trained. Woman in kitchen wiping her nose on back of gloved hand. They clearly need some hygiene training

If you are after silver service, posh nosh or cordon bleu dining then this place is definitely NOT for you! What you get is good quality, homecooked, wholesome food! Our breakfasts were cooked to order, yes we had to wait while they were freshly cooked, but there was nothing drying out under heated lamps like in many other places. The prices are also really reasonable too and the staff are very friendly. Definitely a place to visit for good, honest, value for money food and service!

I have come here many times in the past few years and for the first time was sadly dissapointed today as the server put items on my make your own breakfast order like two tomatoes that i did not order and when i got the food it made me realise why the meal cost at £12.50 was so much more expensive than exactly the same meal i have had here many times before this has never happened all the previous times i have eaten here and to save the hassle i decided not to take it up with them in addition the portions and the food sizes have shrunk to about half the size of what they were previously and the sausages and eggs the portion of baked beans and the two tomatoes that i never even ordered were ridiculously small about half their previous size and all i can say is i will give this place another chance in a couple of weeks and if this poor service and ridiculouly small portion and food sizes occur again i will sadly move my custom elsewhere

Not the best, sadly. Food was not hot. Staff member in kitchen without any PPE, handling food with no gloves, whilst readjusting clothing etc 😵‍💫 .. put us off before we'd received the food! Generally needs a freshen up and ideally staff wearing appropriate clothing for the job! Certainly has deteriorated since last visit😕

Disappointed in the food not hot at all kitchen staff handling food with out any gloves. My cheeseburger was hot but the cheese was cold and was not melted. The bun was very cold and had nothing to it. The only think that was good was the chips. And you could not by a meal you had to bye the chips separately. Disappointing and will not be going there again

Sanitary towels and tampons overflowing in the toilets. Can't comment on the food as we decided to just have a cup of tea (we were desperate) after seeing the state of the toilets. The place is grim: ripped seats, spider webs, windows so dirty you can hardly see the sea, dog bowls pulled up next to cutlery. It's a no from me.

Proper cafe, great food, great atmosphere…. My 9 year old boy says it’s his favourite, sometimes you don’t want to pay for the glitz, you want the honest. Thank you for keeping it simple.

I love coming here. My wife loves coming here too. Great food, great portions. The place has a great atmosphere, it's a true British "caff" and it always makes me smile when I visit. A really great thing about this place is my dogs can come in too!! Fantastic!! Please never ever change.

Stopped here for a quick snack before setting off the other morning and food was really tasty. The 3 of us ordered 1 full English breakfast and 2 sausage baps. We're past the summer season now so was nice & quiet here to sit by the sea while having our grub. Old style interior décor, but really nice food none the less. Clean and hygienic toilets aswell. Will use again next time I'm in the area

This place reminds me of a truck stop cafe only on the seafront. Only the view is good. I normally go to wetherspoons for breakfast but thought we would try something different. It needs a bit of TLC inside as it looks tired. Water damage to the ceiling and some rips to the seats. It's self-service , you place your oder at the till then they call your number and you go and collect it. It's reasonably priced, so I can't complain about that. We had 2 breakfasts, which cost just under £16. Or you can build your own, which is good. Breakfast is all day, and they do burgers, fish and chips, salads and sandwiches, etc. If I'm honest, I've had better breakfasts. The toast was very thin, but it was nice with proper butter, hashbrown was nice, and eggs cooked to perfection. I wasn't a fan of the beans, and the bacon was a little too salty, so that made me thirsty more. But I guess it's all personal preference. It's definitely a holiday seaside cafe. But don't knock it till you tried it as sometimes places like these can be the best ones.

British seaside nostalgia at its best. Great fry up ,home made cake, pot of tea and dog friendly what more could you ask for after a blustery stroll along the beach.

Lovely place to stop with the dogs for a snack and watch the world go by. Friendly greeting from front of house and a fabulous snack which was tasty and very good value.

Ordered fish and small chips with curry sauce at £13.50 got a handful of chips (you get more at mcdonald's) the curry sauce looked like it'd been sitting in the pot all week then put in the microwave to warm up slightly up could turn the pot upside down and it wouldn't fall out, took it back to the manager said I had a bad attitude towards his staff when I originally order, I was polite I order the food and that was it, I don't need to make conversion I don't need to ask how there are or what there favourite colour is, when I asked him if he would try the curry sauce he declined, funny that, yes he refunded me, my main issue is 6 month ago I went there and it was spot on, is it coming to the end if the season so just mugging people off.

I visited the takeaway chip shop to your left ..£12 for standard cod and chips , nothing standard about the cod ...really thin shin on fillet ...these people are just ripping off tourists ....all skin no fish ....AVOID .....£12 Rip off

Had takeaway fish and chips. Small portions for £12, chips were ok but fish had little taste. Used to be best around many years ago but sadly no longer. Not recommended.

We chose this (chip shop at front left) thinking it might be like a standard chip shop but unfortunately not. Fish was cooked on order, good, but was pretty small for £9. "Large" chips for £3.50 were smaller than any regular portion back home for £1 less. It was OK, but appears to be a Summer pop up to take in from the tourists rather than serving to regular customers. Wouldn't recommend sadly. Try across the road for something closer to expectations.

Great little cafe good food and friendly staff.

Good variety of food, plenty of room. Helpful staff. Great views and a good place to retreat to when the wind gets just a bit too nippy or the sun a little bright. Open all year round and a staple of Exmouth.

Great location. Very tight on the quantity of chips and the quality was poor - very greasy and poor consistency. The fish had a crispy batter and was generous I would say. Pricey as you would expect for the location. Staff were friendly though.

The staff were courteous and professional and happy to adapt the menu to their customers requirements

No surprises here. A bit 'spit and sawdust' but it doesn't try to be anything else and so you shouldn't expect it to either, and thats fine! Provided us shelter with food and drink on rainy summers day with our dog, thanks 😊

Lovely food and good atmosphere.

Opened 10 mins late and when they did they had to go through the long queue to see if anyone wanted fish so they could start cooking it, then had to wait another 10 mins for the fish. Not the best food either and quite smallon portion size. Shop looked a bit tired and unloved.

Fish & chip takeaway had scampi and chips all freshly cooked. Spot on fresh tasting and not greasy!

Bog standard cafe .. needs updating inside and out, went for breakfast and we thought we sit out side, first thing I saw was 5 empty Stella cans all over the floor. Food was more road side truck stop. Was given the wrong order and when we went up to say about it the lady in the kitchen turns around and say I've cooked it now you have to eat it..

Visited today. Lovely greeting from the young girl serving. Realised we had dogs and straight away advised us they could enter. Chose our food from the menu and selected our cutlery etc. Sat outside on the benches over looking the beach as it was hot. The young girl in the shop advised us to watch the sea gulls, but we had no problems. Our number was called out quite promptly and I went to collect our food. Chef acknowledged my arrival to takeaway our food (which I thought for someone so busy was a nice gesture…this day and age!) Great value. Freshly good food. Pleasant staff Don’t be put off by the overall look of the building and furniture.

Food is always excellent but cafe is very run down and toilets are dirty and mouldy. Not great. Shame they're probably going to pull the building down and put a new one there as part of the regeneration. That's why the owners of this cafe haven't bothered to keep it up together. Just hope they keep it dog friendly.

Very nice food, really did enjoy it. Would go back there again. Very friendly service always willing to help. Top score people :)
