Costa Coffee (Axminster) in East Devon

The poor young staff are trying hard to keep things afloat,but desperately need more experienced staff,otherwise not bad Still only 2 staff on,working very busy but no one to clear and clean tables or keep floor clean.chairs could do with a shampoo,disappointing.

Cash only caused the problem as no card accepted !

Enjoyed a lunch stop here, staff were friendly and helpful, good location from the bus stops.

Costa in axminster was always dog friendly or why were there dog paw prints on the floor where dogs could go?(painted on floor)All other costas in area allow dogs,lyme regis, bridport,Crewkerne etc?????

NO DOGS ALLOWED!! Very disappointed to find out dogs are no longer allowed in the cafe. I got a Costa voucher for Christmas which I was going to treat myself to a coffee & sandwich but got turned away because of the dog. Just another good reason to support one of the friendlier independent cafes in town and not go to Costa again. Poor show Costa

Popped in this morning, on my way to the banking hub for a quick breakfast. Charlie was holding the fort on his own at the time I visited and he was absolutely fast on the service, with well-orchastrated movements. Certainly working hard to keep the queue down 👍

Not a lot to choose from & this was at 10am

We went in for a coffee at 16:15 and was told we could only have a takeaway cup and use one of 3 tables full of used crockery as they were closing in 45 minutes?? (all the other tables were cleaned and blocked off from use) at 16:30 the screens came down over the snacks. I don't know what company policy is but I would have thought this was all premature at best.

Dirty needs a good clean everywhere the floor particularly

As always, good Costa coffee, although you could almost drown in the large cup used for Americano! Atmosphere a bit utilitarian and rather stuffy

This is a particularly nice store in the Costa chain which I can highly recommend for their warm, friendly and engaging staff and it has become my "regular" go to place to get my beverage and cake. The store is spacious with ample seating of all types, there is a reasonable amount of street parking nearby for free on a pay and display a very short walk away.

We went into Costa Axminster today for some coffee and cake. The manager Benjamin served us and he was lovely and helpful. The store was nice and clean and the overall experience was very pleasant. All I can say is keep up the good work Benjamin and team!

Positives nice staff currently, drinks well made. Negative constant staff changes, often cash only due to poor internet.

I asked for a coffee, I wanted to know size of the cups , could not tell me because small and medium cups were in dishwasher, not many customs were in shop , member of staff said I would have to wait , not very impressed

It's looking a bit tired, to be honest. The food and coffee was OK.

You can park in the small car park before the set of lights coming from Seaton for an hour. The place is clean, lovely furniture. Very friendly staff, drinks as always very tasty. I had a latte and husband a hot chocolate.

Nice chilled location just right to get a coffee. However the sandwiches were dry and poor quality and the oat milk is a bit odd. Lovely staff though

Went in on the bank holiday, 3 staff on, waiting well over 5 minutes just to place order, despite being 2nd in the queue. The staff were more keen to discuss their upcoming staff meeting than making coffee. So when the "large order" (4 drinks, 2 sandwiches) before me was complete they had a staff meeting about the staff meeting again, before having to have the very simple order explained and then making faces about having to find and use a jug for coconut milk. The young lady was obviously fond of the sound of her own voice and very confident in herself, which is nice. However out of her hands and her mouth she seemed only able to operate one or other at a time, she seemed to opt for the one that is less useful for making coffee. Which is a shame.

Typical Costa Coffee but it's looking a bit tired. Too many windows and hard surfaces so quite noisy and hard to have a conversation.

Going out is getting expensive.

Maybe it's just that I'm used to American coffee chains, but I was pretty impressed with this. My sandwich and croissant tasted pretty decent. The atmosphere felt a little on the dingy side, but I overall had a positive experience.

The Chai latte was warm at best and was not made with any pride or quality in mind. The sausage bap was mediocre, the bun was tasteless and the sausages underwhelming. The Heinz Tomato Ketchup was the highlight of my breakfast. It's a shame the first place I drove to was closed it sounded much better.

Coffee shops take a hammering and this place is no exception. The coffee was good but the furniture is decidedly tired and not clean enough for my liking.

I come here regularly and the staff go above and beyond for me an my son who's autisic an has GDD an isn't always easy an their the way they are means I can actually go in with my son an enjoy our time there its the only place we go just amazing

Mum and I went in and had coffee and toast this morning at about 8.30 am after dropping off my dad at the hospital for a minor op . Lovely young lady served us ,very welcoming and smiley ! Really good experience 😁

Dated, poor service, and badly made coffee. I drink a lot of coffee and visit many coffee places including other Costas so I'm able to tell a badly made coffee. I think Costa need to put some energy into turning this place around as it's bad PR for them

I pop into the Axminster branch regularly with my partner James. All of the staff are friendly and we always leave happy. Thank you to the lovely team!

Did not smell great (like musty towels/ wetdogs), despite going in when the staff had been mopping everywhere. Asked us to leave 10 minutes after closing time.

not your normal Costa its like an old coffee shop everything the same for drinks though , very busy town and parking is a premium . efficient staff and very friendly

This is a well run Costa with friendly staff who know how to make a decent coffee. I've never had to wait long and there's always somewhere to sit. It's in a great spot too, just opposite the new hotel.
