Harbour lights in Bridgend

Have been going here for years and have never had a bad meal. We have been from 2 to groups of 30 and the staff can’t do enough, always ready to serve at the bar and always friendly. Would highly recommend.

I don’t understand such a low score. Just had an amazing breakfast for £10.75! Proper slabs of thick cut bacon, thick pork sausages, egg cooked perfectly. All 3 had all day breakfasts and all 3 of us agreed that was lovely. No pictures we couldn’t wait to tuck in!! Staff the opposite of what’s been described in previous reviews. Lovely helpful people. Thank you and will definitely be back when in the area again.

Have to agree with another contributor. Polite but lacking in a welcoming demeanour. I am visiting from the Canary Islands, and I find this attitude to paying customers extremely rude and unwelcoming. I have eyesight problems, and when asked what type of coffee I wanted, my attention was directed to sign above the bar listing coffee types. I still had trouble seeing the list of coffees. I would have expected a helpful quick rundown of the list from the person behind the bar. However, the food was quite nice but got cold quickly due to extremely cold weather and lack of adequate heating. Certain staff need coaching in customer handling.

Bar staff are rude looked like she could not be bothered to serve me. I asked for 2 half shandies and was charged £9.80 for 2 fingers of lager and the rest lemonade absolute rip off I will never set foot in there again. Besides that the food is shockingly bad.

For £14.95 each fish chips peas ...it wasn't proper fish it was something you would get frozen from Iceland supermarket minced fish in batter terrible not even the seagulls would eat it ..hand full of chips ..and peas overcooked could be fired from a cannon and sink a battle ship ...won't go there again ...

Decent food. Bit expensive but the decor and position are good and someone's got to pay for it.

We sat in as I thought in this place the food served would be better than the ones sold by the stalls. Turns out it's just as bad only twice as expensive. I had the burger and it was really bad, had nothing to with burger. The fish and chips was soaked in oil, the chilli con carne was just the same quality as the frozen ones from supermarkets. The scampi was alright. Not a lot of soft drink options for kids either. I won't be back...

Amazing food and gd customer service my oldest son is autistic and didn't like his food, so I ordered him something else and instead of them charging me they just made him a new meal I was so touched :) was more than willing to pay for another meal. Thank you so much highly recommended xx

Food was really nice but the kids prices are a little steep. Only had soft drinks but they tasted great. Toilets were meh! But they have a lot of public using them so I guess have to let that slide. Singing was really good. Not fussed on the sauce sachets for condiments or having to ask for them. Was given 3 sachets of tomato sauce between 4 of us and naturally my youngest had them all 😹😹 also a key for the disabled toilet was really inconvenient. A notice explaining we would need a key would of been appreciated as by the time I got the disabled child to the toilet, there was no way he was going to walk back to get the key and walk back without getting worked up.

If there's a better seaside venue in Wales then lead on McDuff!

Meh. Not sure what the fuss is about. Service was ropey at best but I suspect that was mainly coz I'm over 50, and not (no longer perhaps?...) one of the beautiful people. Nice view. Drinks were ok. Nothing special. Maybe it's better on a Friday or Saturday night?

First time here and the family loved it.

Always when we visit Coney beach in Portcawl we have lunch there! Nice atmosphere and seaview! Big portions not expensive!

One to avoid. Dropped in with my daughter on a seaside visit. A couple of seconds into me ordering, the bar staff decided their chinwag was more important. It took about 30 seconds before they could tear themselves away, at which point (after saying nothing), I was given an annoyed look - like I had some unreasonable idea of ordering a drink… As others have said - find somewhere else, or at least don’t say you weren’t warned!

Bar staff are rude and to top it off can't even serve a good beer. Avoid this place unless you like poor service!!

worst fish and chips i have ever had

Got Guinness instead of Coors and bar girl blamed it on my accent, even though they sound completely different, was a bit surly about it. Not professional.

Had some lovely food from here today the all day breakfast was really nice was hot well cooked and didn't have long to wait my wife had a stake baguette and she said it was cooked just right for her childrens menu as well .prices not to bad .got toilets and a disabled toilet to so in all a great place to eat if your on the beach at Porthcawl for the day or sort stay

A really nice looking place. Apparently they thought that I had asked for a pint and a half of beer. Then they poured the wrong drink away. Eventually we sorted it out. Glasses and tables were dirty. Food didn't look very nice.

The food in this pub restraint is so delicious. And very tasty. Would definitely recommend this place for food.

Had a lovely walk on the beach with our dog, fancied a nice cup of tea before heading back to the car, the place looked nice and dog friendly. £2.20 for a mug of tea, uht milk and the cheapest tea bag ever, with luke warm water, such a shame

Lovely food but disappointed food stops being served after 8pm on weekends

It looks like a lovely pub and restaurant, that looks over the beach. But the burger was not cooked properly it was still pink/ reddish in the middle. Which made me feel I’ll today. This is the first time I have done a bad review, and let’s hope that change for the best, it was a shame really

Overpriced disgusting food!! Filthy toilets. AVOID!!!

Over priced inedible steak baguette, so tough even my dog struggled to eat it. To be fair, I mentioned it to the young lad who served us and he did offer to replace it but by then I didn't want another. It was also served in a brioche bun, which isn't pointed out on the menu or I would have avoided. I don't normally give a poor review but this was a nice little place , off the beach, that allowed dogs, sand as well and it's a shame that the food let them down. I notice a few poor reviews so let's hope that they can work to improve. My husband had the all day breakfast, adequate but cold. Looking online, there were plenty of other dog friendly places we could have visited , if I had if seen the reviews beforehand, we would have avoided , such a shame.

Absolutely shocking service, a very rude girl served us with no manners. As i entered the shop i got shouted at to put on a mask despite having an underlying illness and explained that to them they showed me to the door. Very over priced

Staff were lovely and pleasant, had 2 lovely meals over the weekend but the toilets are absolutely disgusting, I was heaving every minute I was in there with the smell, no Hand dryer working and there was no paper towels in there as an alternative. A real shame as everything else was faultless

Sunday dinner was disgusting glasses dirty and expensive fulgoni is the best bet in town

1 star is too high, worst carvery I ever had and the most expensive.

Early Saturday night and most beer taps are dry. Definitely one to avoid ☹️

Food was lovely, great value for money... even came back for Sunday dinner
