Stayed for three nights during Islay Whisky Festival. Hotel lovely with fabulous friendly staff who were willing to give great recommendations of places to go and things to do. Room was lovely. Stylish and clean with great view over the loch. Bar small and intimate and two fun evenings spent there. Breakfast was fabulous with the best eggs royale. Staff were incredibly obliging. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant was not open in the evening.

To be honest, we were really looking forward to dining here but we were disappointed. The waiter we could not fault at all but the food was just okay. Quite bland, nothing to write home about. Chilli and sweet potato wedges, just didn’t hit the mark, neither did the mushroom tagliatelle. We also felt the way the screens were placed it was like eating inside a cramped phone box. The view was spectacular so we were still glad we visited.

Amazing, this just sums this place up. Being gluten-free and vegan is always a challenge, and this great restaurant rose to and exceeded that challenge with a bespoke 3 course menu! Fantastic restaurant. Really easy to reserve a table online and a fantastic view from the restaurant over the bay. We had a great selection of whisky to choose from, with a detailed guidebook explaining each option. Asked at reception if we could go to the bar, that was not possible but we were welcome to sit by the roaring log fire in the reception area and drinks would be brought to us. We had excellent Belhaven's beer and of course, delicious whisky. The young lady who served us was friendly and efficient. All in all, a delightful experience. Fabulous setting on the edge of the Loch with great views. We arrived for lunch and found a bright, clean and welcoming restaurant attached to the old stone building that housed plenty of character. We didn't want much, just a starter and drink and the pleasant staff were quick to accommodate. A waitress error in ordering was swiftly and efficiently dealt with and much joy spread through Mr Hobo as he relished in the fresh seafood of the Fish Club sandwich and Mrs Hobo glowed with the soup...and nicking some chips from her husband. We enjoyed it and will be back, if you'll have us.

The setting is great, the room was fab, the food was to die for, it was clean, loved the toiletries and the style and atmosphere. The best part though was the staff, they were friendly, efficient, knowledgable, but mostly they were happy and seemed to really care about making your visit the best. We ate in June 2021 as hotel residents, at the time it was only open to hotel guests. We're glad we did, and wish we'd had at least 1 of our other 2 Bowmore dinners here as other places pale in comparison. The views from the conservatory dining room are stunning, even with the weather blowing in. The staff are the same as the Inn and were welcoming and friendly with advice on what to choose. The venison main I had was just beautiful - perfectly cooked with excellent accompaniments. The cranachan was the star of the show for me, to the extent we returned to have more the next night after dining elsewhere. We paired it with the Bowmore tasting flight and loved that too. Having considered other places in Bowmore, Peatzeria is great for what it is, but for a quality mid-fine dining experience then the Harbour Inn is terrific. Other places seem to do more standard West of Scotland standards - piles of chips etc - but The Harbour Inn is a cut above with pricing that was reasonable.

The food is delicious and fresh and the atmosphere is relaxed and stylish. The restaurant is clean and the staff all cheerful, polite, and very helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone staying in, or visiting Bowmore. We have dined in here twice with the service and food perfect both times.Fresh lobster, langoustine, scallops were all delicious but so was the steak and Cullen Skink. Try to leave some room for the Bowmore chocolate mousse or a tasting flight of whiskies (which they will take you through, should you wish).

Had a very nice time there, finding a table ar the last second our expectations we're sky high as we were already happy to find a place to eat.As we were enjoying the nice view of the Bowmore Bay, we had our first taste of modern Scottish cuisine, beginning with an excellent Haggis Scotch Egg, well balanced between the strong taste of the meat and the creaminess of the yolk. Then we had a delicious pan-fried Coalfish, served with a side of crushed potatoes, peas and smoked bacon, paired with New Zealand Chardonnay it was a nice match.Props to our waiters too, for their kindness and efficient service! We were recommended to visit this restaurant by our hostess where we were staying and it was an excellent choice. The restaurant which is owned by the Bowmore distillery is part of the Harbour inn hotel. There is plenty of free parking outside the Harbour inn and in the immediate surroundings. The restaurant is quite small with room for about 30 covers and has views of the small harbour from the windows on 2 sides. The restaurant is plainly furnished with wooden floors and tablecloths. There are daily specials on a blackboard in addition to the menu items. My wife started with the half pint of langoustines which were warm & came with head off shell on. They were excellent. I started with the ham hock terrine which came as 2 large slices of ham hock and although filling was again extremely good. For our main courses I had one of that days specials the langoustines which came with French fries and a mixed salad. The langoustines were served whole. It was a very large portions of over 10 large langoustine — they were superb.. My wife chose the mussels which also came with a salad and a bowl of French fries. Again the mussels were excellent; a large portion of very large mussels which my wife thoroughly enjoyed. We decided to share the pannacotta with salted caramel popcorn which was the perfect end to the meal. Our server, Vicky, was excellent , extremely helpful and friendly and all her recommendations were spot on. Despite the restaurant being full all the dishes were served in a timely manner. The wine list was small but reasonable priced and the meal was excellent value for money. We had a lovely meal

We went back to fulfill our restaurant booking a little while later. The staff were attentive and our starter of home made fish cake was lovely. We both ordered pan fried Hake with Crab Risotto off the specials board for our main. Well, to call it a disappointment is an understatement, both the Hake and Risotto were totally tasteless.Really awful. The whole place has obviously had a lot of money spent on refurbishments but it is totally lacking is any atmosphere.Such a shame as it is in a prime location but clearly just catering for unassuming tourists & passers by. We always have fish and chips one night when on holiday in Scotland so the choice was easy. Great haddock - would have prepared chunky chips rather than frites, but not a big issue. The restaurant is under the same ownership as the Bowmore Distillery so we rounded things off with a dram - would have been rude not to!

We popped in without a booking, having arrived on the morning Ferry. We were greeted with a smile and "We are full Sir, but just a moment." A few minutes later they were resetting a corner table where someone had finished early. Phew, that was close, it was getting late. Very good seafood menu and a more than adequate Wine list. The food was beautifully presented and delicious with lovely local fish and fresh vegetables. A delightful meal in a well furnished restaurant. Like a lot of Scotland, wine is sold in two or three sized glasses, 150ml, 180ml or 250ml. If you just ask for a glass of wine,, then invariably you get the biggest/most expensive. Given Scotland's near zero tolerance of alcohol when driving its important to know how much alcohol you have had before you can drive. We both enjoyed the dining experience, the price being a bit higher than most in Bowmore, but consistent with the quality of the food and the venue.

We were staying at the hotel and were a little tired, so decided to "eat downstairs" rather than go searching. It was so good that the next night we came back.

Läget i hamnen är helt fantastiskt. Ostronen underbara och maten god. Men tyvärr dras betyget ner av att personalen inte hade koll på vad dom gjorde.

The main course was decent, but a little overpriced. The beer was the most expensive i have ever had £5.25 for a bottle of fairly local ale which is way way overpriced. service was friendly. nice views of the harbour.

Como tudo em Islay, o restaurante Harbour Inn é confortável, muito agradável e com uma equipe muito atenciosa.

As part of a group of two couples, we went into this hotel for morning coffee. We had been there last year and got the most delicious shortbread with our coffee so were hoping for the same. On arrival we had to press the bell for service at the reception area, which was cluttered with dirty laundry bags. Eventually we were shown to a table. We asked for three lattes and one mocca, and for four rounds of shortbread. The waiter told us 'he would have a look and see if they had any!' He came back 5 minutes later with our coffee and said that there was no shortbread. We asked for four fruit scones instead. The waiter disappeared and we tried our coffees, and found the three Lattes were look warm. We intended to catch the waiter and ask him to re-heat them, but after 30 minutes he had not returned with our scones. In disgust we rose from the table and went to reception. After a short wait a young girl came to the desk and we told her to forget about our scones, and that the Lattes were all cold and still sitting on the table. We paid for our one Mocca and left without getting as much as an apology from the girl. On a tourist reliant island with a great number of coffee places I found the service to be totally unacceptable and we will never go into this place again.

The food and atmosphere of this restaurant was great. The prices a bit touristy but manageable. Unfortunately the service was so undertrained that it really affected the meal. Only go if you have tons of patience and loads of time to kill.

We were staying in the hotel so decided to make things easy and do dinner here. We were expecting something all right, but were truly blown away. My husband had the leek and potato soup and I had the heirloom tomato salad. Both were delicious but the heirloom tomato salad was truly spectacular. Tomatoes so fresh they must've been picked that day. We shared some rustic bread too that they brought out with a quality olive oil and average balsamic vinegar.

We live on the island and have eaten here several times but not recently. On the recommendation of a friend who said it had improved greatly over the last 12 months we decided to book a table. The heirloom tomatoes were lovely but not enough goats cheese on the plate. 3 tiny little pyramids of cheese , but very tasty. I ordered the Moroccan lamb with couscous for the main. Disappointed , the meat was quite tough and arrived cold. We were told that lamb neck is quite often tough , but my question is why serve it then? Or at least cook it in a way that is edible. The Moroccan flavour was very subtle. Not good enough for £20. My husband ordered haddock and chips , which was covered in salt flakes. Salt is good for seasoning , not good for the heart. So it would be nice to be able to put your own salt on so you can control the amount not have someone else decide how much you have on the dish. The pistachio cake with nectarines was several tiny portions of cake with what looked and tasted like tinned peaches. If the nectarines were 'roasted' as per the menu then there should have been some colour and caramelisation on them. Again disappointing. When we ordered drinks we were told that the St Mungos was finished so I ordered Tennants lager. The table next to us were then served St Mungos , so perhaps we should have been told the barrel was being changed and he would get the order when the new one was ready. So we left not really wanting to come back unfortunately , which is a real shame.

First night on Islay and drove into Bowmore for evening meal. My partner and I both chose fish and chips. Chips were actually french fries, peas served in small dish were well over cooked, half a lemon had been grilled and was so dried there was no juice, haddock was ok. Not impressed with service

Got a fish supper and received one small fish and a handful of chips. Chips avarage, fish shocking for a fishing community like Campbeltown. Greasy fish very thin and soggy like Spngebob.

A well run ‘spoons with quick service and the usual good value meals and drinks. Had a lovely crispy fish and chips, wish my locally chippy could do it so well. Excellent.
