The food was good and we enjoyed the meal if the service was a little slow. BUT when the bill arrived we found that all the prices had been increased. There was a small hand written note on one of the menus saying main course +2 but we hadnt taken any notice. Naturally we refused to pay the extra which was fairly grudgingly removed.

Lamb vindaloo, rice and onion bhajee. £13.80. Okay, a bit pricey, but I like to support local people. Rice and bhajees were fine, no complaints. Lamb vindaloo was essentially a potato curry with four small, almost indiscernable, pieces of lamb. Sauce not hot and no chillies. Avoid.

Had a takeaway with family in the garden tonight and was looking forward to a nice meal to celebrate being able to meet up. Chose the special dish of king prawn tandoori masala at a cost of £15.50 Whilst I thought this was expensive I assumed at that rate it would be a reasonable dish of largeish prawns and it did include rice. Most of the dish was prawn shell, hardly any flesh at all and they forgot the rice just to make it even worse value. The onion bhaji were greasy and over cooked. I felt really ripped off and wont bother again.

I ordered an Indian take away and while waiting for the food noticed that only the receptionist was wearing a face covering. When I was given my food I enquired about the Covid procedures and was informed that none of the chefs were wearing masks and none of the other staff would wear them either as it is too hot. I requested a refund for the food as it made me uncomfortable and I felt unsafe. The owner/boss then came out with a napkin covering his face and said I should try cooking over a hot plate for half an hour and see if I want to wear a mask which I understand but they should not be open then As we are in a global pandemic and being encouraged to support local businesses I expected the guidance to be followed.

We were lucky to book on a Saturday night as due to COVID they can only serve two tables although they were also doing takeaways. We both thought our menu choices were tasty and different and the poppadum sauces were particularly good. As we took our own alcohol this was also a cheap meal by comparison. Staff were attentive and professional and I just hope they survive these times.

We rang tonight for an order, and the order was taken efficiently and politely. The order was ready in the stated 30 minutes. I'm writing this review, because the young man (Mr Haques son?) was really professional and a credit to the business. I mentioned to him that he seemed to be processing orders, and allowing the takeaway to run 'like a well oiled machine'. Always a good meal. Thanks to the proprietor and staff. Chris.

Most of the reviews are trying to bring the beautiful nature of this restaurant down but actually, it is excellent! I came here to try out some new foods and when I tried the chicken masala I melted because it tasted so good! I happened to meet the owners daughter who was lovely and you could see she loved her dad and his job. She gave me a warm smile and made me feel comfortable (after i had quite a bad day). I would definitely recommed it or children and adults who want to try the most exquisite foods! To sum this all up i would highly recommend this to anybody that adores indian food! We purchased a takeaway from Hague’s last month but unfortunately whilst eating it I found a hair in the rice !!! Slightly off putting to say the least. I wrote a letter of complaint and attached the hair but had no response, I then e mailed but again no response !!! Judging by other reviews the owner obviously just does not care !!! The words arrogant and rude seem to crop up in several of them. I severely doubt the hygiene standards of this restaurant and would never use it again.

After arriving on time we were greeted and shown to our table. A waiter then came over and told us we would need to be out by 9pm due to a large group having booked and them needing our table. So that gave us just over an hour to read the menu, order drinks, starters, mains, consume the lot, pay the bill and leave! The food was lovely but that is an unacceptable way to treat paying guests. We did not complain as we did not want to cause a scene but we will not return. Such a shame as the food really was lovely.

This has to be the best Indian ! Regulars for takeaway. The food is freshly made and does not look like its full of colours for our British expectations. If anything it's not as hot as you'd expect so you can actually taste the spices. If like my other half you like a bit more kick, they always happily add more chilli and coriander. Lovely naan too. The service from the waiters wasn't great grumpy and arrogant, but again that didn't bother me. Ordered a chicken madras, which wasn't great - and this bothered me! It had a token garnish of a sliced carrot baton and a sliver of lemon. Unfortunately the whole dish tasted so lemony that you couldn't taste anything else. It was like a lemon sauce. It didn't have any curry flavours in it. Other dishes friends had were bland, but at least they didn't just taste of lemon. Not great.

Very disappointed. This was my first experience of this restaurant so was looking forward to enjoying a take away for a friend's birthday Ordered "tandoori king prawn massala" as a take away. On receipt not only did the bright orange colour of the sauce suprise me, I then had to search for the king prawns. I found six small prawns. On telephoning the manager to express my disappointment at paying over £2 per prawn I was informed that that was the chef's portion size....does he count out 6 prawns per serving? And he reminded me the price also included the rice!!! He did offer that next time they would put some more in, but he did not seem at all concerned about my disappointment. I certainly will not be ordering that dish again and doubt very much whether I'll be returning either to eat in or take out.

We booked this restaurant on the recommendation of some locals who's B&B we visited last weekend. We called the restaurant at 2.00pm in the afternoon and booked a table for 19.00 the same evening. We turned up a minute or two after 19.00 and the restaurant was completely empty, at least it was in the pleasant front main section. But there was some talking from a table in the small back room, which we were about to discover seated around 6 people. The waiter didn't have our booking and instead of taking our word for it, he left us at the counter and went to the back of the restaurant to talk to a more superior waiter, who arrogantly pointed to the worst table in the place, in a dark corner opposite the other diners, right next to the toilets and the busy kitchen door. This table was set four four people, so the waiter cleared two places and left it set for two. We ordered some poppadums', because we still wanted to eat there. Then we decided we didn't like where they'd plonked us, it almost seemed like they wanted to only use the tables near the kitchen to save their shoe leather! When we asked to sit in the brighter part of the restaurant, preferably in the window (doing them a favour, making the place look as if it had some diners in it) which was completely empty, the waiter said, there was a big table due at 19:30. After some deliberation, we asked for the bill for the poppadums', paid the £4.30 and left. Never to return. The waiter actually laughed when we asked for the bill. A quite unreal experience. Maybe we caught them on a night when a coach party was about to descend, but we went to a pub and walked past one hour later and it was still quite empty. Definitely would not eat here, as I feel, the service is as important as the food. I wonder what that would have been like....

BUT, we have take away from here every Friday and it is absolutely fantastic. We have eaten Indian food all over the country and the world and can safely say that Haques is very high quality, tasty Indian food and certainly the best for miles around. It's not greasy, it is fresh and clean, the various dishes are distinct, well spiced and flavoured and I never have any indigestion or the need to drink gallons of water in the night. My wife and I dropped in to sample this restaurants food, based on some favourable reviews I had received from local Corsham residents.Upon arrival we were shown to a table by the window. We were seated by a large table of inebriated persons who were swearing constantly. I really should have stopped and left there and then! Fair enough you can't blame the restaurant for the behaviour of other customers but I would expected them to have shown us to the vacant table by the kitchen. I ordered poppadoms and there was no issue there (if you can't get those right then give up running any restaurant). I ordered a chicken Tandoori starter (small but fairly tasty) and my wife went for the Chicken Tikka. I sampled a chunk and it was extremely dry and bland, and it lacked spice - I wondered if it had been cooked on too high a heat. For my main I ordered a Chicken and mushroom Madras (it was really almost just a mushoom madras as there was hardly any chicken in the dish). After eating one bite of chicken I discovered quite a long hair in the sauce . At this point I really should have complained and had the meal removed. Foolishly (probably because of the foul mouthed people close by) I ploughed on and ate the remaining 2 pieces of chicken. I soon discovered that at the bottom of the dish there was a thick layer of grease. Very off putting and I ended up leaving half of the meal. My wife ordered a Chicken Korai and she to was completely put off by the large amount of grease lining the bottom of the dish. So off putting. The only positive was the wine - you bring your own so no excuses there!Within seconds of leaving our meal I paid the bill £38 and left. The staff new we were most unhappy but I just wanted to get out of the place and never return. They never even asked if everything was ok. They just knew!

Wonderful evening tasting and enjoying new dishes as well as the excellent food that we ordered for £14.95 for three courses.Excellent service, lovely staff and very cost effective as you take your own alcohol.Very enjoyable and will definitely attend more of the taster nights which are usually the last Wednesday of every month.

Haques has only been open a year or so, before that it was just a takeaway and the only other Indian Restaurant (just down the high street, the pink one) had the monopoly. When Haques opened, it virtually emptied the pink restaurant, as it is quite simply unparalleled in its quality and varied menu. The service is excellent; the staff very attentive and the food, did I say, is superb. The venu is small, no more than 20-25 covers comfortably, but I believe they have aspirations to open the 1st floor up to diners in the future.Haques has no licence, so you have to bring your own beer/wine, but there is no corkage fee; they do sell soft drinks.Excellent

Staying in Corsham for a few nights, we picked this restaurant to eat in simply by walking up and down the main street and going on first impressions. The choice on the menu was very good and the prices of the dishes seemed very good compared to what we pay at home in Wales. The staff were excellent, they did not rush us into making choices and were happy to chat when the opportunity arose. The phone never seemed to stop ringing, for takeaways. The food was excellent, one of the best Indian meals we have had, we would recommend this restaurant to visitors and locals who have not tried it yet. We will return if we are in the area again.

If you want to experience a great Indian meal in Corsham, then you can't beat Haques. The food is fantastic, like some restaurants, they do not rush you. Restaurant did not have a drinks licence when I last visited, but the have applied for one, we brought our own drinks which made it a cheap night , I can highly recommend it either for a take-away or a visit

We visited Haque's shortly after it had opened as a Restaurant, having been a regular take-away customer. My guest, an experienced diner and critic, was very impressed with the food, it's wide range of flavours and textures. Then menu has unique dishes and being a BYO, we were very impressed with the bill. Definitely a superb experience which we hope to repeat soon.

Although the restaurant is small (it used to be just a take away service ) I think they have made the most of the space available and the location of the restaurant situated in Corsham High Street is ideal. What they lack in space can be made up in the great quality food, my friend had the chicken Korma and she said it was the best she had ever had and my chilli and garlic chicken was gorgeous, you can also take your own booze, the service was also excellent, im definetly going back again

We arrived 5 minutes early, for our booking. After some debate, the waiters assembled a table at the back of the restaurant. Our table was positioned badly, between the toilet and the kitchen doors. The initial problem was a flickering down-light, but as trade increased we were more concerned about the constant rattling of trolleys and the flow of bathroom activity. Our food was good, but not great. The pataks jars, which we observed via our delightful view of the kitchen, did raise some potential concern about authenticity? There seems to be a culture of quick turn around, in modern restaurants. Our "stop-clock service", took one hour, which was for a starter and main course. The restaurant it's self was small, as were the tables. I was unable to look at the rest of the decor, as there were too many other distractions.

Disappointing really. Chicken Madras (Balti style, apparently) was oily and bland. The chicken was tasteless. Small portion too (container was just over half full). Appearance was uninspiring. Saag A
