Happy View Chinese Take Away in Norwich

Food is amazing everytime we order 😋 and the lady at the counter is lovely we won't use any other Chinese.

Beware this restaurant is awful and they WILL lie to you. My original review has magically disappeared. I will screenshot this one and if it vanishes again, I'll go to the media. On the 28/11/24 I put through an order online at 17:59. Expected delivery time was 18:59. At 19:20 I call to query if the driver is lost. The call handler states " she's been out a while, give it ten minutes and if nothing, call back" ten minutes past and still nothing so I call again. I am then told that the driver went to Easton first (baring in mind we are just around the corner). So I make a valid point that the food will arrive cold. I was just told "it's in insulated bags, shouldn't be too bad"...so I say I'll call back in five minutes and if she's not been, we want a refund. Ten minutes past and she's still no where to be seen so I call through again. This time I'm told that she has claimed to have delivered the food. I make it very clear that no one has been to my address, I'd be too busy eating than to waste my time calling them non stop. He says that maybe she's delivered it to a neighbour. I make it very clear that this is their problem and that I want a refund immediately. He agrees but says it'll take two days. I'm fed up at this point so just accept and hang up. Suddenly there's a knock at the door, it's the driver. She's telling me how she delivered to someone at this address. That she knows she walked down my garden to this door and delivered to someone. Now considering I am the only one capable of answering, I ask her if she's calling me a liar. She then starts looking around the plant pots at my front door. So I question "I thought you handed it to me...why are you looking for it" she sneers and walks off. Clearly changing her story to fit her narrative. I call back the company to place in a complaint (because I premeditated why she'd come to my door). As I thought, the call handler explains she has provided sat nav data to prove she'd been to my address. So she literally knocked round just to gain data. Extremely sly. Luckily I figured this out and called to complain which I guess threw her back up out. She either stole my food or delivered it to the wrong place and instead of owning up, she lied and played sneaky tactics. I will never ever trust these people with my business again and I warn others to avoid as well. This is screenshot and I will re add it no matter how many times it's taken off. I will also go to my media.

The chow mein had a cigarette smell to it, the rice was quite bitter and the chips were stale I’m not happy at all

My brother and his fiancee treated me to a glorious buffet takeaway on Saturday. We had 7 dishes and crackers. Each dish was cooked perfectly it was possibly the best Chinese takeaway I've had and should be applauded. Very much enjoyed. I highly recommend it.

First time customer as the one I used to use in Taverham has seriously gone downhill, bad food bad customer service. Chinese food is quite an expensive choice for take out, so you really want it to be good….obviously. The reviews looked quite promising on the whole so took a gamble……..and so glad I did. The food was delicious, my son said Chicken Balls were full of chicken, batter light & crispy, Crispy Chilli Chicken was full of flavour & the Seasoned Salt Chips (think that’s the name) were very moreish, Chicken Fried Rice was great too…..box kept for next day. I was quoted an hour on delivery, it turned up in 40mins & the young delivery man was very polite & wished me a good evening, all this combined means I definitely will use them again & would recommend.

Ordered at half 5 on a Saturday. 7.15 still no food. I’d avoid if I were you

Rude staff. Went in to order and ask about options and I was greeted with a scowl and "what do you want?" in a blunt tone. I didn't really know what to say because every time I asked a question she just said the same thing and continued to scowl at me. It was obviously near to closing time but no need to be rude if you want customers to come back and spend their money. In the end I just walked out because it was so uncomfortable, won't order here again I went down to Peking where the service was much nicer.

I can’t count the number of times I have gone back for the salt and pepper chicken and roast pork fried rice. Very deliciously compelling 😌

Food is very good although the lady could do with listening to what we wanted as I ended up with so much food it was crazy, I didn't even think about how much she charged I just thought its expensive here, ended with 2 lots of chips, spring rolls, the food is very good though and if I was in the area again I would use this takeaway again as it is very nice.

I often (perhaps less now) get a Chinese takeaway as a treat when I am pushed for time and these are great. I tend to order through Big Foodie and the service and food are great. The egg fried rice is too plain for my taste (my son loves it), so I have pork fried rice instead which us super yummy. The sweet and sour sauce is thick and tasty and the delivery is usually very quick and the food is always hot and fresh. They are not the cheapest, but they are very good. Give them a try.

Quick service and amazing food, I moved to Norwich 2 years ago and tried a few Chinese here and been not that great. But this Chinese was awesome, great Tasting with flavours and 💯 perfectly cooked would recommend this to anyone. And will order again

Used to go to another chinese but due to covid they we're shut.. So we decided to try Happy View and all I can say is if there's one thing to come out of covid thats good, it's our discovery of this place! We have never had a bad order, Happy view are consistent and our food is always hot and fresh. The dry ribs are to die for! Falling off the bone. Spicey salted chicken is also a favourite of ours. You can order online too without any fuss so really easy to use along with being able to use card. Highly recommend!!!

We absolutely love the food but the customer service seriously needs an overhaul! Happy view don’t hang up on customers, don’t be rude to your customers especially when they are placing an order with you and choosing to spend their hard earned money.

Really nice Chinese, not greasy, hot and correct order.

Unfortunately I've had to change my original review, after using this place several times the place has gone down hill, twice they have forgotten to deliver items, the 1st time I didn't bother complaining, 2nd time I phoned up to complain as 2 people were left without a meal (chicken fried rice.) When it finally arrived everything else was cold so ruined the meal completely. Sorry you have lost a customer My review 4 months ago; Restored my love for Chinese! First time ordering from here, I had prepared myself for the usual disappointment of greasy undercooked chicken balls and rock hard rice as I have experienced by literally every Chinese in Norwich, UNTIL NOW! Chicken balls were perfectly cooked as was the rest of our meal. Cant describe how happy I am to finally find a good Chinese. Will definitely be back for more. THANK YOU!

First time ordering from here tonight. Order was ready bang on the time we had arranged for collection. Friendly staff and delicious vegetarian options. Especially enjoyed the won ton and mock chicken.

So good, the best Sweet and Sour sauce in Norwich. Friendly and quick too. I can't recommend them highly enough. It seems the negative reviews are left by people who can't read a menu!

Happy View Chinese takeaway will be a very good find for anyone looking for good food. Food was better than expected and I/we (family) feel very lucky to have found s good takeaway just down the road from us. Medium (shared) parking. No public toilet.

Food tends to be delicious from here, however, unfortunately, the staff are both unwelcoming, unpleasant and rude, I am a regular here and am experienced in both reviewing and working in the food service industry, should they improve their attitude towards their custom, I would give them a 5 star rating.

Our usual takeaway is closed today so decided to give Happy View a go after reading other people's reviews. That was a good decision! Mine and partner's chow mains, chicken balls and spicy wings were really good and our fussy daughter absolutely enjoyed her duck with pancakes! The food arrived half an hour earlier than estimated (which we were happy about) and it was nice and hot! Will definitely order again from Happy View 😊

Best Chinese we've had in ages! Even better they have lots of vegetarian dishes. My incredibly picky daughter loved her meal which is a near miracle in itself! Finally a take away the whole family enjoyed!

It was worse experience iv ever had I'd ordered a mushroom curry came back to what. Looks like I don't know what but surtainly not what I'd ordered at all don't know what sort of meat that is not beef or chicken

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal from this great take away. The food was delicious, tasted fresh, wasn’t too greasy and was well-priced too. The gentleman that served us was very friendly and helpful as well. I would recommend this take away!
