THE BEST CHINESE EVER! This is not even exaggerated , me and my boyfriend love this place , the food is outstanding! We always get the salt and pepper chicken, special spicy chicken, mixed veggies in garlic sauce, chicken noodle soup and egg fried rice. Finger licking good.

The shop front improves significantly since relocating to this new building. Clean and bright interior. Food is good but only from the Chinese specialty menu. It would be easier to specify dietary preferences and/or requirements if converse in Mandarin/Cantonese. The offering is good value for money for dine in experience as portion sizes are slightly larger than usual takeaway .

Having been recommended by one of the locals who said it was the best fresh Chinese food around we tried, she was right. That was the best Chinese food my boyfriend and I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection. On top of that, lovely lady taking the order and guy delivering. Win win! Only problem for us is we live 4 hours away. We will definitely go back and stay in the area again just to eat there though.. Yep, that good !

Gone downhill massively. Lads behind the counter polite and helpful but food quality is very poor. Duck used in Roast Duck Chinese style was incredibly thin and tough and served in a bland sauce. The new chips are not a patch on the old style. I ordered collection and the food was still given to me lukewarm.

The special spicy beef in black bean sauce was delicious! Unfortunately, I did order the Singapore Chow Mein and received a regular Chow Mein instead. This was a bit disappointing, as I had really been looking forward to that specifically today. I understand that it must be a busy Friday though. Other than that, food was lovely and delivery driver friendly.

Their portions are the largest in hatfield. And can feed 2 people.

This is the only Chinese takeaway we have ever used since living here in 2017 it’s been so good we don’t need to try anywhere else

Repeat customer. Very tasty and excellent quality, large portions so effectively 20 quid (three dishes) pays for delicious food for two of us for two days! Delivered to the door. (Chinese, like Indian food, is of course even better on day2) <3 x Chopsticks on request!

Delicious food, the best takeaway place around! Sweet and sour chicken, special chaw mein and roasted duck in particular are very nice.The owners are lovely too. Sometimes they add prawn crackers or fortune cookies to orders.

Absolutely amazing mushroom chow mein, tofu in black bean sauce, fish and chips just to name some of their dishes. Used to hate Chinese but eventually decided to give it another go after many years. So happy we’ve tried this place.Their portions are very generous, food is served hot and delicious! Once you order it it’s usually 10-15 minutes before you can collect and not much longer for delivery. Everyone working there has so far been super friendly to us! Will be definitely coming back again and again!

Sometimes, their chips are just incredible and the absolute best in the area. However, sometimes if you order from 5pm-6pm they are serving reheated lunch time chips where are disgusting. They are hard, stale and you throw away a £3 portion after 2 chips. It is the same with the curry sauce, after 6pm or at lunch time it tastes lovely but between 5-6 it tastes diluted as if they just added water to make more from what is left. It would be nice if they considered vegans more. Vegan mock duck is 1.60 a can, they could make that as a pancake meal with cucumber, spring onions and pancakes for £7-£8 and make profit.

I had high hopes because this place has 4 stars but it really doesnt even deserve one. It looks really ugly from the outside not to mention the spelling mistake- "vallely" and not "valley"- and it wouldn't be a problem if it was the only sloppy thing about this so called restaurant. The food looks manky and greasy, i only got fish and chips though because it seemed like the only seemingly good thing there. The chips were STALE and disgusting, but the portion was good probably because they want to get rid of old food. Don't waste your money here, you're better off getting a meal deal at the post office.

The food looks sloppy, they have 0 care for presentation not to mention how cluttered and untidy it looks even from the outside there's clutter in the windows, and when you walk by there's a pungent smell that doesn't even smell like food. I walked in and got some fish and chips, which somehow managed to be soggy and stale tasting at the same time. The fish was a joke too, it was literally a scrap of cod in a load of batter. Don't waste your money here, it's a shame because the owners seem sweet.

The food was disgusting and greasy, though the portions are quite large so you're really paying for quantity and not quality. It was cold on top, i won't attatch photos to spare this excuse of a takeaway shop some dignity. Its also very dirty when you walk in and it reeks of oil. I don't understand how it got a 4 on the hygiene scale, it's pathetic. I'll update this if i have to go to the hospital for food poisoning. Do not get any food from herr, i would reccommend RiceTime if you would like some edible chinese that isn't greasy. Absolute joke of a restaurant.

Ordered a few times before and food was nice, but today I had to change my review since the food was so bad. Ordered roast pork and duck in soy sauce and ended up with a medley of 70% vegetables and large chunks of onions, a few bits of a duck, chicken and dry pork in yellow bean sauce. It was like they just threw together what was left of that day and tried to disguise it. Photos also had a lot more onions before the photo was taken. Won't be ordering from here again.

Just got my large cod at home, no joke 3 mouthfuls of cod all just batter. Food was really oily and nasty. Wont be Ever going back.

I was introduced by a friend since 2019 and I still haven’t had enough,QUALITY as well as QUANTITY. “Chefs Special Fried rice, Moderate Spice and Soy Sauce XL” I sing those words in my sleep now . No friend has ever tasted the food and not request their order number. Sadly they only take cash. And Super friendly Staff, LOVE IT.

I am always amazed how quickly its delivered and it tastes great. Crispy shreded beef is pretty good more often than not, it is crispy ! And this makes a difference , portions are good too. I would have given 5 stars but you guys need to keep an eye on the cucumber / spring onions that come with the duck they can be a bit tired . Looking forward to you bei g open again soon after the lockdown

bit expensive. but good quality food. just a shame the delivery people are so rude. u have to pay 40p to change the sauce!! the delivery guy would normally step into my house without my persmission! and block the door so neither of us can get out. i decided to just walk all the way from the gallaria to hilltop and back to get my food, instead of being harrased by the delivery guy. its not happy valleys fault but they shouldd change delivery people.

We travelled a bit further for this after reading the reviews were quite good. It was horrendous. Chips- greasy/undercooked/went in the bin untouched Prawn toast- greasy/undercooked Beef curry - slimey There was nothing about this food that was nice. It went in the bin. And treat night didn’t happen.

A place where you can get SPICY, hot and fresh food.

What a gem! We won a £10 voucher at the local school summer fete and used it instead of going to the oriental Express in the village just to try it out. The food was lovely... hot, tasty and very little grease (unlike oriental Express!!) We will be going back for certain; definitely worth the drive

5 Star! I live around the corner and have been buying food from Happy Valley Chip Shop for years and they are allways lovely! Today I got there half hour before they closed and order fish cake and chips and the lovely lady gave me 2 fish cakes because they was closing soon! Nothing but good people and good food! <3

Altogether, one of if not the best chinese in all of hatfield. The container sizes are massive at a reasonable price and the food is always hot and delicious. Sometimes there is no wait for food, but sometimes it is busy, but it's always ALWAYS worth the wait. Highly recommend if you want an incredle chinese or fish and chips in Hatfield!

Whenever I get a surprise visit from friends, I always go for take away order in this place apart from its reasonable price their food is also “Appetising” and “Flavoursome” I would highly suggest the Crispy Aromatic Duck served with pancake, cucumber and spring onion and sauce! Definitely a great take away

For ood over priced a little and tonight of all nights valentine night it was delivered late hour and a half and only 1 driver remarkable plus by the time the food came it was cold ordered a few times and has been very good

Got a Chinese from here last night i went to pick up my first time going here as just moved to the area, the place looks run down the old chap looks grubby !! it did not look clean to me but i still ordered my food. When i got home me and the wife started to tuck in as we was starving our pork balls was undercooked still pink in the middle the wife could not eat anymore of her Chinese !!! What a waste of money the rice dish was very expensive way over the top. I will be not using these again. Going to try the one in Welham Green next time as i heard they are good

this place don't deserve any stars. food don't have any taste, food is not to hot, food is not fresh. looks like was just boiled with only water. no salt, or paper. NOTHING!!!! I call the take away place they give me the owners phone number. call him and he say he is coming to my work place to "SEE THE FOOD" after I just paid 36.90 pounds for this horrible food. this places that call them self a restaurant or a take away restaurant, I don't know how they can be still open. sometimes I feel ashamed of being a chef because of this "CHEFS, THAT DONT KNOW HOW TO COOK."

This takeaway has seen a variety of owners, after the food started deteriorating we moved to another takeaway in Hatfield. However, we ventured back to Happy Valley last year and were so impressed that we haven't looked back since. The food is amazing, very tasty, good portion sizes, and a generous ratio of meat all served in authentic Chinese boxes.

Quite expensive even just for rice. Tried a few dishes here with chicken where instead of just normal bits of chicken like other places would use, it came with tiny pieces of chicken deep fried, coated in batter like you often get kung po chicken. So barely any chicken in dishes that other places have generous servings of proper bits of meat. Not what I was after! The staff are friendly and the flavours of food are pretty good though. Better value for money elsewhere but main customers look to be students who don't seem to mind They do fish and chips too. Only had the chips before but they were pretty good

I've lived locally for a while now and I don't know how I've missed this place, I'm glad I was recently introduced. I actually find it far better than some of the Chinese food places near me. Great portion, great taste and not greasy at all. I think I've found a new spot.

2nd visit there. 1st visit was bland food but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Went a 2nd time and the food was just plain awful particularly the Thai style Tom Yum chicken soup which was inedibly sour and massive chicken chunks just floating. The Chicken curry was Ok but gloopy and not a great flavour.

Tonight ordered a chinese delivery from this place, I had never heard of this place f but after trying 4 other local takeaways in St .Albans Hatfield,that were giving me an hour to and house and a half as they were so busy , googled local Chinese takeaway and this came up so called them , they are only 1 mile from my house. They delivered in 25 mins instead of the 45 min wait they said, the food was delivered in little boxes, so cute like in
