As always, good food well prepared. We have being going to Happy Valley for a number of years and have never been disappointed. Staff are helpful and always very pleasant. A solid five stars.

Staying at my girlfriends in Bacup and we ordered a takeaway. This is her Chinese of choice but my first experience of it. Really enjoyed it. Food was very nice!

Was very disappointed with my meal 6/4/24 We had been once before for a takeaway and food was good and plenty of it What total change rice bland and not as menu fragrant rice , replaced with chicken , satay chicken was dry , prawn toast fair, spring rolls no taste Main meal chicken had gristle in it We will be going there again shame !!!!!!

Cold and stale food that was definitely from the day before. Couldn’t even bite in to the chicken and the beef absolutely stank… we actually ordered pork but was given rotten old beef. Also waited an hour and half

Our family group of seven was staying in the Bacup area, so decided to try a takeaway from Happy Valley. We based our order on a set meal for five, with a number of extra and vegetarian dishes. We love our Chinese food so really do know what is good or otherwise. This was good! Every dish was hot, generous and tasty, and we were particularly impressed with the quality and quantity of meats in the various dishes. We were also impressed with the friendly and accommodating service. In other words, we were really satisfied and would thoroughly recommend Happy Valley!

Best Chinese takeaway in Bacup.

Ordered a take away of Chicken in Black Bean Sauce half Rice/half chips. Was more crunchy onions in a bland sauce with okay chicken pieces. All bland Rice not a chip in sight. Had salt & pepper ribs to start not good, deep fried and hardly any ribs! Not worth the price most of it ended up in the bin!

Terrible!!! Got food order wrong, then when queried in the shop they went away and re did it but still wrong. When got home and realised order wrong decided to eat it anyway as starving and this ended up in the bin as tasted disgusting, salty. Dry chicken. Horrid chips. We will not be ordering from these again!!

Don't know if this place has changed hands because it used to be good, non of the dishes taste nice and the chips dry. One of the worse takeaways I've had.

Really disappointing food. Overcooked chips like they were old chips refried.... Soggy special chow mein with soggy vegetables and all in all not a good meal and to be honest we left most of the food and binned it... i definitely won't be going there again.!!

We normally love the food from here, however tonight the food was just unedible and clearly not cooked freshly. When we rang to ask for a refund as the food wasnt edible at all, we were told we could have no refund or a fresh portion sent. We were then told that the meat and sauce in our food was the same portion from when we had ordered 3 nights ago! So the food we recieved was days old and nothing was done about it, not a refund or fresh food for the inconvinience. Disgusting!

The food is great and my favourite Chinese takeaway in town, if they are busy then you are looking at a long wait which is a shame but testimony to the food being good. Just a shame on the wait sometimes but order soon enough to not be disappointed.

Finally, we got it together to nip into this delicious Chinese takeaway, and we were so pleased we did. Tasty & different choices than most places, and apart from chips, there's no selection of British chippy items - excellent.

£8 more than stated on menu. Apparently changed menu 6 weeks ago. Rice cold and clumped together. Ribs are very chewy. Very abrupt on the phone when I called to ask about price. Not very good at all to be honest. Will go back to our normal Chinese. Won't use again. Less than average

My 'Go To' for when I need a quick meal with no hassle. Whether it's 'Chips with ....' or something Chinese, this the place in Bacup for us. Great selection, fair prices and a really friendly staff. Parking can be an issue, as they're really popular in the evening.

I LOVE Chinese chicken curries. Happy Valley do not make a nice chicken curry. The chicken is white, slimy tough and disgusting. How can they get it so wrong! AND charge you £8.50 for the experience. AWFUL!!!

Good takeaway and good food will deliver your order .your food is good but sometimes have a long wait as they are so busy

Reliably amazing food, friendly staff and high standard of hygiene. We order almost every week and haven't had a complaint to make in the last 3 years. Always a pleasure!

Had takeaways from here for over 8 years, been brilliant. Had one last week and left most of it. The chow Mein was very glutinous, when previously it was quite dry and tasted fresh out of the wok. Same with the salt n pepper wings. I just wonder what has changed? From being our go to Chinese for a meal we’re scratching our heads to think of another to try. Perhaps I should have called them up to complain, but the food wasn’t “bad”, just not enjoyable at all. Must stress, over 8 years the service and food has been first class! Go back to how it used to be and we’ll be right back in there.

Waited 2 hours 35 min then there was no beef curry phoned and was told they would send one straight away ....meal finished chips dry and still no curry £26.35 WASTED

After trying many times to call through (constantly engaged), I managed to place an order at 18:30... told it'd be an hour and 15 minutes for delivery... An hour and 40 before it arrived. Food was not great either - cold, hard chips. Don't bother with the spring rolls - basically minced beef in gravy wrapped in pastry... weirdest take on a spring roll I've ever seen. Won't be ordering from there again. Poor.

Absolutely lovely ......ordered beef in blackbean sauce with green peppers . bean sprout special with prawn toast and chips definitely 5 Stars for happy Valley will not be ordering a kebab again well done guys

Food is always lovely and never disappoints. We have become quite regular since we first ordered. Never had any problems with my order. Sometimes wait time is a little long (and worth it) but I’m not surprised as this is one of the best takeaways in the area!

We had a takeaway, it certainly wasn’t the best Chinese I’ve eaten but it filled a hole. I had quarter duck with pancakes, the duck wasn’t shredded so there wasn’t much meat. Usually it is served with spring onion strangely enough sliced carrot was served instead. Salt and pepper prawns lacked zoomph and flavour.

Our neighbours go to Australia at least once sometimes twice a year and this place is a tradition the night before they go and when they return. So as a neighbourhood gang we use these quite a few times before and after our hols. (I prefer Indian but do enjoy the food from happy valley). Used them for years and still going.

Saturday night tea perfectly edible Chinese food, clean plates left by all of us. We had special chow mein I had prawn and there were loads of big prawns. The rest of our party had special chow mein and special fried rice and they enjoyed it.

Always enjoyed happy valley sometimes they are not grear but other times its been delicious. Ribs are a bit dry. Think changed hands as you used to gey a free bag of prawn crackers when you spent certain amount. I like it here.

Pleasant staff work hard to keep the customer satisfied. Lots of choice of UK and Chinese food. The food is nothing special but quite satisfactory. Had both British fare and Chinese fare. Not too bad and will use again.

Best Chinese food I have ever had.

I first went to the Happy Valley takeaway in 2005, big mistake. The quality and flavour of the food was not good at all. Fast forward 12 years and I was convinced by a friend to try it again. I went with my friend and ordered two meals and to my surprise it was still not good. Even my friend has to agree that it was poor quality and lacking flavour. I am not writing this to try and do harm to the business but to point out to them that had the other takeaways been open at the time then I would have gone to them. Improve the quality and I will return. Sadly most people that I have spoken to who have been there have had similar experiences.

Just thought we would try this place as its been took over by new owners ,it was by far the best chinese i have ever had , we got two chicken curries , but i would honestly say get one to share as there is so much of it , price is good too , will be coming back

This as big menu always great quality and something for every one ribs are great salt & pepper the chicken fillet starters are also good choice soap is so so for me but not the best person to judge . love the Sichuan mixed main course its spicy Mmm if you cant find your fav then something wrong if your local the Go try it

I ordered a meal from happy valley last week and it took 2 hours to come and they didn't even bring me my full meal and I ordered another meal tonight to see if it was just a mistake and they was very rude on the phone and very!! Overpriced and it didn't even come!! This place should be shut down from the disrespect I had people to feed and we are all here starving. DISGUSTING!!!

El lugar es precioso y limpio con un personal amable, cualquiera que diga que no es bueno se debe reír. No vayas a ningún otro sitio! Recomiendo encarecidamente la sal y la pimienta y la carne de pato crujientes en Salsa cantonesa. . Mmmmmm!

They do great salt n pepper chicken and lots of other foods all nice . It is only take out but they do have a delivery service but you sometimes need to wait a bit longer for this but all staff really nice .

I have eaten from many Chinese takeaways in my life, even live across the road from one for 15 years and Friday was always takeaway night at my parents.But Happy Valley in Bacup is by far the best I have ever eaten. Authentic Chinese cuisine, very flavourful and not greasy, which you tend to get from a lot of other Chinese takeaways.Very highly recommended.

Happy Valley is the only Chinese/Cantonese takeaway I use, and this is purely down to it being the best quality within Rossendale

I love good Singapore Vermicelli and have a hard time finding a place near home that makes it well. This was our first visit to Happy Valley and I really enjoyed my Singapore Vermicelli, will be back!

I went for a take away last night 30/08/2015 it was so bad we binned it,I had special chow mien which you could not tell the difference between the chicken,beef,or pork it was tasteless and looked like the contents of a babies nappy,my wifehad chicken and mushroom in the same tasteless sauce absolute cr**p wont be back again

I have recently moved to the area and was looking for a good Chinese Take-Away. There were many good reviews about the Happy Valley so I thought I would try it. I could not phone ahead and order so I visited and ordered when I arrived.I ordered a selection of Appetisers and Half a Crispy Duck and was advised that it would be 30 minutes.The food arrived 45 minutes later.When I returned home I found the food to be grossly overcooked, the Duck was so overcooked it was black . The ribs were overcooked and dry and the prawns were rubbery from being overcooked.It was all just about edible but not of good quality.I can only believe that this was a one-off as the other reviews were so good but my experience was not good or acceptable. I will try one of the other take-a-ways in the future.

Ordered from here as have heard some good feedback about the food. We phoned the order through which was pleasant enough and upon collection we were greeted politely. Food was competitively priced and served up quickly however, neither myself nor my husband were particularly impressed. My meal was swimming in liquid and most of it ended up in the bin. It's a shame because I really really wanted to love this take away. Perhaps we were just unlucky but it will be a while before I consider trying Happy valley again.

We get this take away week in, week out & is always on top form! The salt & pepper fillets & mushrooms are the best of the best! We wouldn't go anywhere else for a Chinese takeaway! Brilliant service x
