Happy Season in St. Helens

Don’t have a clue how these have got 4.4 stars but someone is lying here don’t know what these people have been getting but it’s definitely not what I got mayswell go to the corner shop and ask him make me some food probably be better must of been people from the oyo hotel off the boats giving these reviews because it’s terrible it’s like everything needed another 5/10 mins cooking

Hi its Jennifer Corndog here. Im not one to usually leave a review, however.. There is a reason this place is called Happy Season, because whether its spring, summer, autumn or winter it always puts a smile on my face. The sweet an sour inner sole is particularly delightful, the chips are made from potato. All in all, 9.5/10. Would recommend.

I recently vistied this chippy and ordered food and I was thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and authentic flavors. The sweet and sour chicken was perfectly crispy, and the fried rice was light yet full of flavor. The menu had a great variety, catering to all tastes, whether you’re a fan of spicy dishes or something more mild. The atmosphere in the shop was also a pleasant surprise. Even though it’s a takeaway, the place felt clean, warm, and welcoming, with friendly staff who were quick to take my order and offer recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back for another meal! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great Chinese food and a relaxed, friendly vibe.

Absolutely terrible, terrible customer service, everything is microwaved except for the chips, Wendy who owned it last and her husband was amazing all fresh, RIP Wendy, if only you was still here.

Food is fantastic, chips seem to be consistent (3 visits) and perfect. The tofu (beancurd) is the best I've ever had from a takeaway, not greasy as some places, by the taste and texture I'd reckon they use fresh tofu. The only little bug is I wish they'd do more tofu dishes available to order online, e.g. tofu mushrooms, tofu tomato, tofu garlic sauce etc...you get my drift ☺️

Decent food but it's never ready when they say it will be.

One of the better takeaways for Chinese food in the St. Helens area as a whole. We genuinely try different places and have a few select favourites, this will go in the favourite box. All food v good and decent priced verses some. Salt & Pepper wings and Peking Ribs particularly good.

Ordered chicken satay, the satay sauce is lovely. Just the right heat and consistency for me and good portion size. Would recommend their salt & pepper dishes also *****

This used to be a great Chinese takeaway. Now it has new people in and it's awful. Stodgy rice more like pudding rice. Curry sauce horrible. My partner had a chow mein today. Tasteless. Most if both our meals went in the bin. I gave it 1 star but it isn't worth any. We've tried it more than once and it's rubbish.

Caught the fella who worked here putting fish heads in the bin on the park over the road instead of using his bins, park stinks of rotten fish not very nice for the kids playing in the park
