Lovely as always only thing I would say look a introducing salt and pepper chip rather than chilli and a salt and pepper munch box

Took longer because of Chinese New Year but the food was good and the driver was decent.

Thought I’d try since I was tired and in the Travelodge but tbh wish I didn’t had chips rice and curry sauce,ribs and spring rolls. Chips rice and sauce was the only thing fully consumed. Ribs and spring rolls were tasteless and went in the bin unfortunately. Great service and friendly staff but food needs improving

It was OK. It certainly wasn’t disgusting. Everything was freshly cooked but I just wasn’t a fan of the flavours. The BBQ ribs were cooked nicely, but not much meat and the sauce was almost like KFC gravy with a hint of BBQ. I just didn’t like the sauce at all. The schezuan chicken was more like a broth. Chicken was fresh and cooked perfectly, but all I could taste was celery and chicken stock. The chicken balls were the most perfect chicken balls I’ve ever seen and were delicious. But the sweet and sour sauce just didn’t have much flavour. My daughter loved the salt and pepper chips and shredded chicken. So I don’t want to say it was disgusting because it absolutely wasn’t, the meat was cooked beautifully. It was just the flavouring wasn’t to my taste. Maybe this is perfect and I’m used to Chinese full of sugar and oil? Who knows but I wouldn’t write it off and would recommend you give it a try 🙂

My first time using Happy Garden and I have to say, it’s the best chow mein I’ve ever eaten. The chicken was fantastic, so flavourful and moist. The sauce was delicious. This will definitely be my go-to for Chinese food going forward. Amazing

Apsalutely dusgusting i dont no if use just rushed due to closing an hour after i placed my order or what but not worth my money at all cold chow mein apsalutely drowned in soy sauce no need chips were bland even tho they were salt and pepper chips rubbery bland crap in a box the ribs were tough like eating a tree trunk litraly i hope i cost you some customers to gather my money back atleast as they also dont accept giving even a partial refund for the junk they served me thats the food left over the morning after just to show it was that bad it was barely touched i would totaly stay clear

Stands out from most other Chinese take aways in Carlisle for taste and quality. Bigger portion size than most. Tried three dishes this evening- all excellent. I’ve been ordering Chinese food in Carlisle for over ten years and this place is one of the best currently available for sure

Good food . They often have long delivery times ,so we just collect. Foods really good , large portions and fairly competitive. Set meal for 2 is good value for money. Staff are very pleasant and polite .

Not good. Each dish was inedible. The dishes were partially warm, and bits were cold, as though they had been heated up in a microwave. The shredded chicken & beef were not fresh and past their best. Texture and taste just Only thing we eat was the prawn crackers. Worst Chinese we’ve had really disappointing.

Sweet and sour sauce tasted and had colour like BBQ sauce with vinegar.

Missing chips, I was unable to contact restaurant - phone was constantly busy. Sweet and sour sauce tasted like BBQ with lots of vinegar and was brown in colour.

We have been using this takeaway for nearly 20 years now and the food never disappoints. Hot and tasty as well as good value for money. A very enjoyable meal for the whole family.

The best takeaway in the whole world no cap all fax no printer. The menu is so crispy and very very very very very very very very very very very wide range of food on the menu. The teenager who took my order is a attractive young chap. The food is the main point of discussion so lets discuss. I ordered plain rice. It was delicious. The best rice in the world. The chef must be at least a graduate of Gordon Ramsey because this rice opened my eyes to the world of Chinese food. I would recommend the happy garden, to anyone, but only if you are happy to go on a cultural experience and let your taste buds cross the world of China.

Excellent takeaway Best in Carlisle hands down Menu is good with loads of cho The set menu for 2 people will easily feed 3 Order directly from there Website as Just-eat.com and food-hub say its permanently shut.

I’ve been considering changing my chinese take away for a while and finally did tonight, wow! The beef was so soft and juicy, the portion size was great and food was piping hot when plated up. Beef in Blackbean sauce excellent! Wish the delivery was quicker however with it been summer holidays, I’d imagine very busy! Thanks for the great food.

Food order placed at 5.40pm received order at 7.05pm. Food was cold, could be really great food because it is delicious, best Chinese I've had but wait time ridiculous, and food cold. Wasnt a large order just one main dish and a side.

Very very disappointed about the fryed rice with King prawns. We had only 2 prawns in all rice. I can understand the prawns are expensive but I am not happy to pay 6£ for just small portion of rice and no prawns..

Always the best takeaway having tried others. This is fresh, hot and delicious.

First time using this takeaway and really impressed. I had the Singapore chow mein which was so hot and tasty. Others I have had had no spiciness. My husband enjoyed his beef curry and chips. Spring rolls to start were delicious. Definitely reccomend this takeaway.

Fab Chinese great food & customer service

Ordered from here for the first time last night. Very good food, arrived nice and hot as packed in foil trays. The portions are smaller and it's a little more expensive that other take aways in town but you can really taste the difference, not greasy, the chicken actually tastes like chicken and the lemon sauce was fresh and tangy. Will definitely be ordering again.

Not many places open on a Sunday and this was just down from our hotel so we thought we'd give it a try. Steady stream of people coming in to collect telephone orders while we were in there, so that was a good sign. Our dishes were all tasty and seemed to be cooked (relatively) freshly. The Singapore noodles were very spicy so take care. Large spring rolls and not greasy. It all came across as a good standard chinese takeaway. No complaints. We'd use them again if we in the area.

fab old school chinese with lots of actual flavours in the meals, way better than the run of the mill places. delivery does seem an issue but they do ring you and say if its not going to be possible, but we drive down to collect, its that good folks! rather than get some other inferior stuff delivered! and i'm lazy! try it and be amazed, sadly though it makes all the others taste crap!

I usually always order from here and the food has been fine, but yesterday I ordered the beef and pepper in black in sauce and it was absolutely disgusting. Only had a few bites and had to bin it very disappointed.
