Bought piece of fish looks like had sat in oil that wasn't hot enough it was so greasy couldn't eat it.disgusting

Ordered over the phone and collected within 20 minutes. Reasonably priced and good food.

They have a very out of date menu. This needs to be updated to offering everything a Chinese now offers. The food is good but could be better. The oil for the fish and chips needs to go back to what they used to use as this has become very greasy and a bitter taste. Come on this used to be the best Chinese in Carlisle. Now I have to go to across town for a good meal

Just what you would expect from a good chip shop

Very basic Family run business. But...very tasty food, clean, never had bad food from there. Lovely sausage chips and gravy, mmm, 😋

The best Chinese in Carlisle with a limited fish and chip shop menu, too. Cold drinks and condiments are also available. I do hope one day they'll do duck as this is my favourite, but there's plenty to choose from in the meantime. Parking is tricky, but there's normally some on street parking in the nearby streets. It's much easier if you order in advance over the telephone. Payment is cash only. They also carry a small stock of vapes.

Foods always great and staff are really pleasent and polite. Id recommend the peking chicken. Also enjoyed the special fried rice 🍚 and the chicken curry.. Best chippy Chinese going 😋 👌 🙌

Worst ever Chinese I have had asked for the chicken well done and it was pink the staff don’t interact very well the customers at all I think it might have been because it was near to closing time , bad experience and a total waist of money I would avoid this place in future

A VERY generous 2*. How this place has got 4.4* average is beyond me. The (I assume) owner is beyond rude. Been 5 times, never been any better than contemptuous. Was willing to forgive the abruptness and decidedly average food as it's the 'right' side of town to be convenient but I'll never spend another penny there. And what self respecting Chinese doesn't do Lemon Chicken? Lemon Chicken!? Lemon Chicken!? Every Chinese in the land does it.

Very busy so I guess the locals like it. I had beef and green peppers in a black bean sauce which was far too salty. Spring rolls were different to say the least. Egg fried rice was ok. Lady serving was pleasant.

Probably the best in the town for quality and prices. Definatley the best curry around.

As always food was fantastic. Whether you get english or chinese it is always tasty , not greasy , and great value for money. Highly recommend this take away.

Quality of food is poor, used to get proper chicken in the chicken dishes now it's like that pre packed stuff you buy from supermarkets. Only saving grace is the chips are good.

I have been going to Chungs for over 30 years and it’s the best Chinese takeaway this side of Cumbria. The food is delicious and always good portions. The only downfall is the price as it has gone up quite a lot over the past year it’s even dearer than Liverpool takeaway but I expect this is due overheads? All in all I love the food and the owners.

We have used this chip shop for many years but find the Chinese co-owner to be very rude. Everything is a problem to her and I have yet to get a please or thank you off her whereas George can’t do enough for his customers and is always very polite and pleasant. My order tonight wasn’t to the standards I expect from there and when I rang and told her I wasn’t happy she replied with “if your not happy go elsewhere”, not very professional at all!!

When Alan ching ran this chippy the food was fresh.now it's often reheated and I've had some very average meals.one of the staff is so miserable I've often walked out and it's not a place I'm bothered about anymore which is a shame

A short walk to this takeaway makes it too easy to visit. This is our regular takeaway and the food is always to a good standard and never takes long to prepare. Would recommend the crispy chilli chicken, beautiful!

Awesome for a Lunchtime Special Fried Rice. The only place in Carlisle that does them in Large Round Foil Trays. It keeps the meal perfectly warm until you het it home, Unlike those clear plastic things that most takeaways serve up nowadays.

Chips should be fried fresh for each order...food tasteless. Thought I'd try here after all the good reviews. Not recommended

We always use this Chinese, always get large portions, food is piping hot and delicious. Staff are friendly also!

Try the crispy chilli beef, we are regulars and like nothing better than an evening in with a Chungs Meal and a DVD, or a bit of telly

in all the years we have used this take away, they have never failed to deliver a first class tasty meal.

Go in quite regularly for chinese or fish and chips. V good fish. Went in last week and got the best fresh fried fish I have had for a long time.

We have been getting meals from here for many years and the meals are always excellent, plenty to eat, beautifully prepared and always piping hot. The fish and chips are easily the best for miles and the Chinese menu large and always cooked to perfection. The lady who usually serves me (Alan's daughter) always smiling and even when the shop is packed out you soon get excellent service. Highly recommended.

Probably the best chinese in Carlisle.... A great selection on the menu, but always quality food, and to go along with that, they have a great chip shop selection menu for those that want a more tracditional take away.

If we have a Chinese takeaway we always go here and the food is always hot and good. There is a good menu choice too. I think if they done delivery they would do very well.

We are regulars at this takeaway. We have NEVER had a bad meal. Food is always excellent, always on time and good value for money. Can't recommend highly enough, best takeaway in Carlisle!

A.Chung is a great chinese. It is local for us and food is always fantastic. I always enjoy a cheese pie, chips and rice. When we go to collect our food the place is always full of people. Great!
