Love this place and have done for 5 years. We have now left the area and miss it so much. Thank you guys for the best chinese takeaway ever. The squid is INCREDIBLE

I have been a faithful customer for 17+ years, and in that time, the food quality and service have always remained excellent. Salt & pepper ribs are so yummy, and house special noodles are my go-to favourites, but the whole menu is delicious. My family looks forward to Friday night takeaways. It has always been cash, which I admit is a bit annoying, but I am willing to forgive this because of the wonderful foo. Keep it up, Happy Garden 😊.

We have been coming here for years and this is easily the best Chinese in the area: and believe me we have tried them all! Lovely, family run business and we have got to know them all over the years. Food is a cut above the rest and very generous. We’ve never had a dish we didn’t like and it always comes piping hot. On a busy night you might have to wait over an hour for delivery but I just collect and it’s always ready in 15- 20 minutes. Can’t recommend highly enough.

They have a pest infestation that's the reason why they keep closing. Also they only have a 2 ☆ food hygiene rating ,you can look this up

After seeing all the good reviews I decided to try it… and I have to say the chicken chow main was as Dry as the Sahara Desert the sweet and sour sauce was soo vinegary I had to use my my sweet chilli I had in my cupboard I couldn’t eat there one. The chicken fried rice was nice and the chicken balls were OK… overall I wouldn’t be in a rush to order from them Again

The food is great the staff are polite, also they are good with time keeping and making sure food comes to you hot whether your picking up or getting delivery… I love this place and would recommend to anyone that asks!! Will keep ordering from here every Saturday

Orderded duck and pancakes didn’t send duck and said it “was not possible”

Waited for delivery for over 1 hour. When I called, the food hadn't even left the restaurant. They had my number they could have called and explained the situation and apologised. They didn't. So i cancelled the Order. No point being busy if you can't handle it. Oh and delivery over any amount is no longer free. £2 charge. A shame, I did like this place.

Chelsea - Kingswood. Brilliant service. Great customer service. Food always comes hot and on time. I haven't had a dish I haven't enjoyed yet! Definitely always my go to for Chinese. Always get their salt and pepper ribs - they're wicked 👌🏻

Needed a quick meal so wanted a box meal. Only one veggie option for a box meal so got that, mapo tofu with egg fried rice. Didn't fancy it but had to go for it and it was so banging. Sauce was top tier, exactly what I needed, worth the slightly pricier cost

Disappointed by the fried rice and tiny quantity of duck in my order. Have made better fried rice at home by myself! Rice grains were tiny and there were no veggies in the rice, despite the description. Doubt I'll order again from here.

Right so I want in the post office and the woman who owns this restaurant (along with her husband apparently) was collecting a parcel for her husband. She didn't have his ID or proof of address (happy garden) so the lady the post office wouldn't give her the parcel. The lady was shouting to the post office lady and being incredibly unreasonable. I felt really bad for the post office lady. This woman was very abusive so I can't help but l can't help but leave this review Leaving this as a 2* because I haven't tried the food but don't agree with giving custom to this woman who clearly has such a poor attitude.

I’m from the area and I’ve been to many Chinese shops this one is the best. 10 thanks doesn’t even come close ! So remember it’s the one near to M&S trust me you won’t be disappointed

My food order was horrible..food taste was not nice! Customers service was good but I’m sorry ..it’s all about what’s going In my mouth..horrible!! Waste of 50 quid..never again.

Usually use the deliver apps. This doesn’t appear on there. It’s much better than anything we’ve had via deliveroo etc. and much cheaper than Good Earth. Easy to order. They do their own deliveries. Food is great. It’s our go to Chinese now. Note that it’s cash only.

Lived in the area for some time now and get easily drawn into the delivery apps for ease, so Happy Garden had never come up. Much better than other Chinese takeaways in the area by far so the 5 stars is based on it easily being the best choice. We are vegetarian and all the veg tasted fresh and plenty of sliced garlic and chilli in the dishes we had. Will just make this our go to Chinese now and pleased that it isn’t on the delivery apps as it isn’t some tech giant taking a cut.

Food was really good! Tasty, fresh... Delivery on time. But we felt sick later in the evening and also the next day.

I’m not usually a fan of having a regular go-to for restaurants or takeaways, but I’m always up for Happy Garden! They have friendly service, really good portion sizes/value for money and absolutely delicious food. I usually have the salt and pepper squid and kung po chicken. So tasty and always have enough for leftovers the next day, so it’s always worth it. The best takeaway!

I've been ordering from HG for 2 years now and the quality of their food just get better and better. The best Chinese I've had, high class and take away combined. The king prawn in black bean sauce!!! The noodles!! Ribs!!! God bless HG. I pray that they stay in Streatham Hill for a long time to come. Great food and great delivery timing. I'm obsessed.

After a lot of research for the perfect Chinese takeaway in Streatham, we chose Happy Garden based on so many positive reviews. The food was DELICIOUS, everything was so fresh and tasty and incredible value for money. Also so refreshing to not have to use food delivery apps to get the best food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Genuinely the food goes well beyond the normal greasy take away fare. Happy Garden easily stands up against more expensive take away restaurants in the area, and we have swapped to happy garden exclusively. Great value, great service, fresh and non greasy food. They aren't on an app delivery that I could find, but they do deliver!

Came in from the US and wanted food that came to us. We had the garlic chicken, chicken fried rice, and cashew chicken. It was all very good for the price and delivery was hot and fast.

Absolutely delicious! And well priced I tried the salt and pepper squid, sweet and sour chicken balls and special fried rice and they were all yummy. Phone service was a little rude but the food 😍

This place is so so good! Food was ready in minutes, portion sizes were massive (and included complimentary prawn crackers:) Staff were very nice. Chicken dumplings and Salt and pepper squid were incredible! Definitely recommend and will order again 💕

Happy Garden is sooo much better than Wing Lee in Leigham Court Rd and Peng An on Brixton Hill. The latter two I have tried recently and been really disappointed in the amounts (Wing Lee) and quality/flavour (Peng An). Happy Garden is a little more expensive but excels in every way. Try their squid, sweet and sour pork with rice and duck with rice for really happy meals.

We discovered this place about 2 months ago and ordered take away from them several times since then. Some items aren't great ( We tried about 5 chicken dishes from their menu and we didn't really liked them) but the beef in black bean sauce is delicious as is their duck and pork with rice (the one from the white menu on the till). First off, it was a Friday evening with wind and rain so coming back from work we weren't in the mood for cooking so decided to have a takeaway. Our experience thus far when getting any sort of takeaway has been rather disappointing from Thail food that had no aromatics or mediocre Chinese! Anyway stumbling through the net for places we came across the Happy Garden which is only a few streets from us and decided to order there from all the positive reviews. We placed an order which we were told would come in an hour but came in 30 mins earlier! THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! we had Kung Post prawns, prawn with garlic both tasted delicious. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was the best I've had and the won ton soup had beautiful dumplings. Great food, good prices and an overall success. Will be ordering there again!

Details online aren't very clear but thanks to someone who posted pictures of the menu I knew what to order. Phoned and ordered and thought I'd have to go and get it but actually they delivered. Very prompt and delicious. We had duck and pineapple as well as sweet and sour chicken. The wontons contain crab just a warning in case some have allergies. The spring rolls are different from others I have but really nice. Will definitely order from them again. Another note... Cash only!

Reasonable local Chinese take-away - please note they're cash only! There's no option for sit down, but the kitchen is pretty efficient and you don't have to wait long for a walk-in order. So far we've enjoyed the spring rolls, chicken sweetcorn soup and the shredded crispy beef (sauce is a bit hot, but mostly sweet). Chicken Chowmein was a bit meh, an okay side-dish, but just onions and sprouts for veg.

I live locally and never order Chinese anywhere else! A family-led business, the food and service is always fantastic... their salt and pepper chips (number 13) are just delicious!

It's many years since I have eaten such a tasty & well- cooked Chinese from a specialist take-away. Whenever I visit friends in Stretham, we order from this lovely clean,well-run & friendly Chinese- never disapponted. The ordering,either at the counter or over the phone, is dealt with quickly & efficiently & the service or delivery is within a very acceptable time. Chicken in cashew nuts & honey ribs are firm favourites but I'm sure everything would be just as tasty. Can't wait to revisit!

I first visited some years ago for a Monday takeaway (many local restaurants are closed), recently my nearest takeaway’s opening days have been reduced. So remembering the Happy Garden I went back. It’s as I remember the staff are friendly and helpful, the place is clean and I’ve been back 4 or 5 times it’s now my go to Chinese even though it’s a bus ride away.

My most favourite Chinese takeaway in South London! Great tasting, quality ingredients. It’s not greasy at all. Don’t be put off by the exterior which is a bit tired. Try it for yourself- you won’t be disappointed :)
