Ordered skinned haddock, but given unskinned. Order should be repeated by staff to confirm. Chips were VERY pale and neither batter or chips had much taste. Maybe the oil used is different. The batter also seemed different to usual. The curry was nice and mushy peas were ok. Tried and sadly won't use again.

Used to go here regularly but the last few times we have been the food has been atrocious. Gave them one final opportunity this evening - fish, chips and peas. Fish was pale, batter was undercooked and doughy, was not wrapped in grease proof paper so stuck both sides and once peeled off was a horrible mess. Fish itself was average. The chips were horrendously undercooked, therefore rock hard and white (literally same colour as the chip paper). Inedible. The mushy peas were 1/3 water, not sure how this even happens! Once I'd drained the water off they had a funny taste and smell. Partner also had chicken curry with rice and lid wasn't secured properly on the curry so when got home most of it was in the bottom of the bag. Suffice to say all went in the bin, waste of £14! Would like to support you as a local business, but not until you start providing quality food.

Great curry. I would say the best Chinese curry Iv had in a long time and Iv had a few!! Also really great service. The guy who takes the orders is well mannered I would recommend this place

Got to love the happy frier, I have used it for years, the food is consistently good. It has new owners and it's nice to see the have kept the same recipes. It's always delivered fast.

Been taken over not so long back I believe can the old owners buy it back please! chips undercooked and hard absolutely awful...sausage was made out of plasticine I think! Then the gravy was like dirty water from a pond will not be going back anytime soon 🤢

Had a large chips tonight around 5 15pm just out the fryer they ended up in the bin warmed up from dinner time by the taste WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

This used to be the best fish and chips shop in our part of Burton. My husband and I used to buy from this place every Friday but we definitely won’t be going back. The fish we had looked pale and the batter was awful - the Angelos family knew how to cook fish. Chinese? That’s no Chinese food served but just greasy gloop..... would have loved to support you guys but no way..... adios!!

Called in on our way home thinking we would give our local chippy a miss and try something new. Ordered large chips (cold and chewy) Large plain sausage (edible) mini fish (over cooked ) the brown batter crumbled off it when tapped on the worktop. Large peas (no idea as it went in the bin with the rest. Also ordered sweet and sour chicken and rice. Two mouthfuls and also went in the bin. Complementary prawn crackers were a grey/brown colour. What a waste of money.

Ordered takeaway delivery for my son and I cod & chips x2 = delicious and very hot just how I like them. Thank you

This chippy (formerly known as Angelos) has recently changed hands and now also sells Chinese food. A couple of days after they opened we had fish and chips as a takeaway. They were absolutely lovely and up to the standard of the previous owners. However, a few weeks on, we bought more today. They have ended up in the bin. The chips were undercooked and not warm. They tasted horrible. The fish was a very dubious haddock (no black line on the skin), and did not taste very nice. We won't be buying from this place again and most certainly could not recommend it.

We get our tea here every Friday, they are the best, the freshest, hottest, tastiest fish and chips. Wouldn't go anywhere else. staff are lovely and chatty. Recommend you give them a try.

Always pleasant to come back to over many years. Good it is still serving up good fish and chips at a low price. Like the small one as we could not manage to ear all of a standard size Greets with a smile and welcome

It was a pleasure to visit this fish and chip shop, clean and good presentation. food very good and extremely helpful that you could buy a smaller portion for a lower price rather than have wastage by not eating everything

Been using this chip shop for well over 20 years (actually from the 1950's but it wasn't Angelo's then) The quality of their food is always good. In all those years I've never had any cause to complain. I don't eat in very often but there is no difference to what they serve in their restaurant so its still very good.

Feeling peckish but intending to return to our barge for dinner when we came across Angelos Fish Bar. The £3 mini fish and chips were perfect in every way - not too big, not greasy, freshly cooked crisp chips served by friendly staff in a bright clean table area. We wish that we could get such value and quality in Kent

My family and I arrived at our hotel and felt like having something from a chipy for a change googled local chip shops and Angelo's was the closest ,we were stunned nice bright shop but it was the chips that left us speechless we have never had chips as nice ,they were clean as fresh chips could be no wee black bits stuck to them not a single 1 burnt not saturated in grease either,the amount was also terrific at home our local chipy would give you around 2 small scoops and charge you 2 quid Angelo's small bag was the equivalent to a Large bag here that costs nearly 4 quid ,we struggled to finish the bags that we bought as there was that much but they were so good ,all praise must go to the staff for such an excellent turn out for both the shop and what they produced.
