Food was hot and the mushy were great

Visited last week and sat in the resturant. Our table hadn’t be cleaned, there was a sticky residue all over it. Then waited 15 minutes before being served because the staff were too busy talking to serve the customers. When our food arrived, the batter wasn’t cooked at all, my plate was dripping with oil. Won’t be visiting again. Don’t waste your time or money

I have just had a medium Cod and chips and the cod was so fresh. The food is cooked to order so it is worth the wait. When ever I stay in Burton, I always go to the Urban chef for fish and chips. Plus other people were having the same. There is on site parking to eat in or take out and toilets on site as well. The staff are very friendly and welcomed me like I was an old friend. Well worth the visit for the food.

Donner and chicken meat was soft and tasty. fish was juicy and hot! chips could have been a little better but overall a solid 9! delivery was very quick too.

Should have just waited in the queue because it was quicker than pre ordered my was ready to collect at 5:45 but got it at 6:10. I know it’s Christmas Eve but more staff would have helped

Great chippy tbh, atompashere, and the staff were super friendly. Just the same with all chip shops now, it's getting too expensive for what was a cost-effective and family tea.

Fantastic fish again, lots of hard bits of chips. Such a shame the vinegar is watered down, it really spoils the food

the delivery driver went to wrong address. he went into Swadlincote instead of newhall

Lazy staff ignored us as we waited for 7 minutes to be served. They focused on the online orders instead. Rude to ignore customers who are inside and are just as important. We left, not giving money to bad customer service and could have had to wait for another 10 minutes.

order was right but cost more being delivered than at the chip shop itself

Food great, manager's mask on but not covering nose but he kept to the back of the counter, girls well organized.

Didn’t receive part of my order, the food we did get did not meet the description i.e. kebab missing sauces. The food was just ‘okay’. Not very happy :(

Little, tiny fish in fish & chips.

Chicken burger was good. Chips were a bit soggy but just popped them in the oven. Curry sauce was good.

I had to drive out to find the driver as he wouldn't listen to the instructions on how to find me. When I got the food it was cold so really only fit for the bin. I couldn't warm it up as I don't have a microwave as I've only just moved in.

Order did NOT arrive - no idea where driver left it. I gave him directions but he didn't arrive. Absolutley disgusted with the service. How can the order status change to 'delivered'? I didn't give anyone the pin code. Do drivers not bother asking?

My fish was cold in places my chips were wafer thin with no potato in them just the skin , they were cold also . Rather disappointed to leave a negative view on this occasion

tried most local fish and chip shops first time i tried these by far and away the best

Only go there for the kebabs no one else local comes close to the quality if you want a kebab come here

First time I've ever ordered from here. cheese burger had no salad despite the menu saying it does and it was basically like a burger you get in town. the savaloy I ordered was fine.

2nights ago I had the best ever fish and chips here.Lovely white fish which was moist and like a steak.Went back Friday teatime 6-15 and the 2x large cod were overcooked dry and you had to scrape the fish off the batter.Disappointing that the experience can vary so much and not cheap at £13 a meal

A little bit late but freshly cooked snd delicious. Gyro chicken was amazing and m6 mum, the fish connoisseur, loved her meal. Highly recommended.

I used this place regular but decided to have take away 12th June had chips large fish Savaloy chicken pie curry sauce mushy peas and pineapple fritter I watched the girl she took all the items out of hot unit and and left them on side to wrap each one wrapped up like Christmas present even the peas and curry pots were filled and she couldn't make her mind up how to wrap them so when I got home every thing was cold had to be microwaved so we could eat it can't say it's we travelled far only live up from garden king less than 5mins away sorry but very disappointed

Finding Urban Cafe on the night we visited was like finding an oasis in a desert! We received such a warm welcome from cheerful willing staff. This is so often lacking in food outlets, especially at the end of a busy Friday night Our food choices were quite wide and our party of 4 was very happy with our choices. Food was very fresh, a lovely salad with my baked potato! I applaud the place and would go back anytime. We live in Dorset so it can't be soon but we won't forget! We thank all the staff wholeheartedly. We highly recommend people to try Urban Cafe.

Wow absolutely gorgeous food we normally eat in here but decided to try using the app. I would definitely recommend it the fish was so fresh & cooked to perfection not greasy and the chips where perfect. Portions are plentiful next time I'll order small chips rather than medium as we couldn't eat them all. So look no further for gorgeous fish and chips the best place around Burton-on-Trent.

Just paid £15 for warm pie and chips I believe were leftover from last night. Used to be excellent but seems to have gone down hill. Won't be going back

A model for the fish and chip industry. Must surely rank in the top UK 50. Their mixed kebabs are legendary.

Food was only lukewarm when it arrived, fish batter was not crispy, mixed meat was nearly cold, overall, this place has gone way downhill.

Ok, not long wait but annoying employee, you have to tell them 2,3 times the order so they can understand.

Had a chicken gyro that I normally order and this time it had chips it? Like why? Do not put chips in.

This was my go to chip shop and never had a problem but unfortunately this time it was cold and greasy has put me off ordering again

Driver collected food , tracked him as he went 2 miles in the wrong direction!... Must have given up after half an hour and just marked as delivered, so obviously just dumped the food !! Now left with hungry kids and 20 quid out of pocket !! Restaurant staff were as helpful as could be but just eat need to sort this out as its getting worse by the day !!!

My first ever order was lovely since then had 3 todays was chronic the chips tasted that reheat taste my batter stuck to all the paper , fish was grey in parts it should be clear white flesh never had such a bad meal

Food was awfull must have been reheated because tops on the peas had melted waste of money ended up in the bin really disappointed.
