In Chinatown there is one Chinese restaurant next to another, which is why it is not easy to choose. We chose the Haozhan restaurant because there was still some space outside. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is not good, the meat was tough and the noodles were, in our opinion, instant noodles. The service was okay, but you always had the feeling that the space should be freed up as quickly as possible. We then gave a hefty tip of around 12% on the bill, without our consent. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant; you should rather visit one of the numerous other locations.

Very good food. They immediately found us a place to eat (4 of us), even though we hadn't booked. Quick service. Maybe I'd wait to bring the bill (they brought it to us while we were still eating), it's not very nice. Maybe a little expensive, but prices are the same everywhere, so it's not a minus.

With so many choices of Chinese restaurants it's very hard to recommend a great one from a Chinese origin. But there's always a first. Well, we just had dinner and everything was fine except for some spicy dishes, until it was time to pay. They include the “tip” on the bill when it is illegal; It is optional and they have to ask you if you want to give it or not. Well, here it is included in the bill, we told the owner and he told us that this is the service and it is mandatory that we pay for it. 12.5% We have said that we do not pay more for it when it is getting ready. The waiter got angry but took it away from us. Because he was obviously not right since it is illegal to force him to pay. He was angry, we imagine that with himself and we were sad, I don't like it when the Chinese get angry.

Friendly to get you on the terrace, but once you are seated everything goes very quickly. Impatiently keep asking if you know it yet, and then serve it at a very fast pace. absolutely amazing restaurant!! i went up to chinatown for the first time, and this was also my first time going to a restaurant, so i was worried at first until the waiter kindly greeted me and my mum. we sat outside and it wasn’t as busy; there was a lot of people but not crowded. i ordered the bbq pork steamed buns as i usually get full very easily and i knew i wouldn’t eat all of my food if i got something else and it was one of the bestest bao buns i had ever had. the waiting time was quite fast, maybe around 10 minutes and the food came very warm and not cold at all :) one of the waiters also wished me a happy birthday and the best of luck in the future, and another was very polite when taking our order and asked if we have any allergies. WILL come again!

Wanted a good spicy Chicken curry and some chow mien as a take away. Eric who was outside and help customers was excellent. Very friendly and he suggested a Malaysian chicken curry as the chef was Malaysian. WoW - this chicken curry was probably one of the best I have ever had outside of Malaysia. This is defiantly my new favourite. We also has Chicken chow mien and a vegetable chow mien. Both could be more flavoursome and was a little too sweet. Hence I took one rating away for that. Overall, we were blown away with the Malaysian Chicken curry and will visit again and hopefully meet meet Eric again.

The taste is average. In this restaurant, I clearly experienced gender discrimination. At the same time, I was suspected of being subjected to "nationality discrimination." There was a male service member who, in what he thought was a joke, laughed at a woman's choice of marriage. Furthermore, at the end of our meal, we discovered that all the other tables had drinks and water, and no one asked us if we wanted it. We were treated rudely and charged a mandatory 13% service charge. This is the restaurant with the worst service I have encountered in the two years I have been in the UK. I personally do not recommend this place to female tourists who speak Mandarin.

Standard Ch-town restaurant offering similar menu to most other options in the area. Busy place, the food was generally of a good standard. Walking through Chinatown, picked this place at random. Pretty much standard offerings. Various chicken dishes, pork dishes, veggie dishes. Lots of Dim Sun offerings too. Ordered a veggie spring roll but it had an odd taste, bit of a paper taste. the inside was good. The veggie noodles were good and a decent proportion. The sweet and sour chicken is what you'd expect, however, rice did not come with the dish which was disappointing - maybe it's normal to be sold separately, i dont know, i simply found it odd. I would say the prices were reasonable, but with many sides being a la carte, the price will add up quickly. Decor was pretty dated, nothing to write home about. The service was polite but at one point everyone sat down to lunch and we had to find someone for the bill.

This was honestly the most disappointing restaurant experience we had in London. While we were studying the menu, an employee tried to push us into the restaurant. Ultimately we were lured into the restaurant with the offer of three cocktails for the price of two; that sounded good at first. Then it started: right after we had placed our order the bill came - first pay, then eat and drink, so far so good. But when the food came we quickly realized that we hadn't made the best choice: that Broccoli was unseasoned and boring, there was little rice (which had to be ordered separately given the already expensive prices) and tables and chairs were already being folded down, so we didn't feel welcome. The cocktails were small and really overpriced. The offer from the beginning (3 for 2) was just a catch-all: we were only told in an unfriendly manner that we should have asked exactly which drinks were included when we asked. But then it was too late. The result: £100 for three bad little long drinks and food that would have had more pizzazz at any snack bar. Plus an automatic 12% tip - we would definitely have given less for this experience if we had had the choice. We won't be coming back and we'll learn from this tourist scam.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Haozhan in London, and it was an absolute delight! The moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the friendly staff who greeted me with a smile. But the real highlight was the food - oh, the food! I ordered the crispy duck and wonton soup, and both dishes were absolutely phenomenal. The duck was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and tender meat that simply fell off the bone. And the wonton soup was a revelation - the dumplings were packed with flavor and the broth was rich and savory. The service was also top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer all my questions about the menu. And while the prices were a bit higher than average, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it well worth the splurge. Overall, I would highly recommend Haozhan to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Chinese dining experience in London. The crispy duck and wonton soup are must-trys - trust me, you won't be disappointed! Just be prepared for a slightly higher-than-average bill, but trust me, it's worth it.

I'm full, but I came out of the restaurant (better term - larger snack bar) yesterday in a bad mood and not feeling good. First, the ambience. It's hectic and very tight. As we sat downstairs at a table for 2, it was very drafty as the outside door was constantly being opened. The staff is efficient. The restaurant is not suitable for vegetarians. I had broccoli in garlic sauce for £11.80. Seriously? This was a small plate of steamed broccoli mixed with water and garlic. There was no rice and had to be ordered separately for £3.50. The portions aren't too big either. However, dumplings are very tasty but again a bit expensive at £6.80 for 3 pieces. By the way, the bill comes as soon as you put the chopsticks down. No need to ask about it. It makes you feel very welcome. I wouldn't recommend it, there are far better restaurants/takeaways in London. I slept on this review another night, hoping that in the morning light I would be more relaxed about the experience. That wasn't the case. I definitely wasn't satisfied and didn't feel comfortable. The one star for the food is for the dumplings.

I'd been here for takeaway roast duck so I knew if they could make that so well, the rest of the menu should live up to my expectations. Ordered one of my favourites - Beef in black bean sauce and fried ho fun - came very hot, lots of meat, and good smoky noodles. !0/10! Also, it was accompanied by steamed beef balls. Whilst the flavour was just about right (could do with a bit of dried tangerine peel) the balls were a little on the smaller side. I think the COL has affected portion sizes for their dim sum. I was changed £150 for Dim-sum and crispy duck!! I was asked how many people dining and the answer was 4 ( 2 adults & 2 children) but I never asked for 4 set meals as they told me the reason was for charges and the food we got was only worth for max 2 people.

I don’t know you guys but something people don’t know about is that this restaurant takes advantage of its employees. The service charges you guys paid ain’t pay to the employees but to its owner and manager. It pays far, far lower minimum than the law is ask for, not to mention that this restaurant doesn’t have any nowadays computerized income system that may raised the possibility of intentional running unreported taxes or money laundering. The manger “ban” or “van” always make promises to its employees and intentionally trick on in order to gain self benefit. Please don’t support this kind of restaurant, and the restaurant has serious hygiene issues need to be resolved.

Wow great bargain quality food. The noodles, the veggies, the buns, the Mao Pao, and so much more with friendly supportive service and options of buffet or takeaway box. Great price and worth the visit for quality food at a super quality price.

First time here, over the weekend. Before we even got to sit down, the lady taking us to the table proceeded to tell me “It’s busy, so we need the table back in 1 hour and a half” Which would have been fine, had this been mentioned at time of booking- but it wasn’t. Already felt rushed, before we had even started. The place was busy & tbh seemed slightly chaotic at points. The food was average dim sum. Nothing different to other places I’ve been. Ordered a lemonade which I had to chase 20 mins later. Also ordered a won ton soup, which never arrived. Ordered crispy seafood noodles, which were very oily and the seafood wasn’t great. Every dish was very gloopy and not a massive amount of flavour. The waitress who served our table was efficient and nice though. Would I recommend.. probably not. Would I return.. No is the answer.

We have eaten here a number of times and the service has always been good. Today however, we asked for a table on the ground floor which was confirmed. We waited 5-10 minutes for it be cleared and prepared when a senior male waiter came over and shouted for us to go upstairs. I told him we had a table already and he shouted ‘don’t you understand? Get upstairs’. I said we just wanted the table we’d been waiting for. He told me numerous times he was IN CHARGE and quickly became aggressive and intimidating. This went on and on. We then left the restaurant and had a lovely meal elsewhere where we weren’t screamed at. The rudest restaurant encounter I’ve ever had. We will not be visiting ever again.

There are three dim sum restaurants at this Baker Street corner and I made the mistake of picking the closest one. It's not bad, but an underwhelming experience at an exorbitant price. It certainly is not an inviting welcome; the woman at the door bordered on hostile, though perhaps it was because of a lack of confidence in her English. Our server was quiet but helpful when asked and seemed a decent guy at heart. The menu is disappointing. There are no bird-based dumplings (chicken, duck etc) except chicken feet. Several of the fish-based ones included Chilean seabass, a fish I dislike and is certainly neither Chinese nor European. We managed to find six dim sum which interested us, but it was otherwise slim pickings on the menu. Everything was good, but nothing remarkable enough to justify the price. (We have had a lot of dim sum, including in Hong Kong and Shanghai). The best was a siu mai shaped dumpling with shrimp and pea shoots. All the dumplings were pretty bland, including a crab spring roll which seemed Vietnamese in conception. The most interesting menu page has auite a few cheung fan options. There is no excuse for these prices. Most of the plates contain three dumplings and cost 10.8 pounds, though as I look at our receipt, most of ours were 8-9 pounds. . Tea is 4.5 pounds a person and I gather from other reviews that they charge for refills. It was a price we simply balked at. They also suggest a 15% gratuity, which is high for London, I think. Our bill for a light lunch for two was 62 pounds. The upside, as I said to my wife, is we did not over eat as we usually do in dim sum restaurants. But this was at best an okay experience, and not one we will repeat.
