We visited Hankies for the first time on Saturday evening for a family meal and we very impressed. Its in a great location too. We were a fairly large group (13 adults and 7 children) and were extremely impressed with the service from the onset, which was consistent throughout the evening. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even entertained some of the younger children at times. We especially enjoyed the tapas style concept, which meant we could try a number of different dishes on the menu without feeling sluggish. The food was a modern twist on some traditional Indian dishes, full of flavour. I personally enjoyed the chicken hankie and seafood popcorn. They have a good vegan mix on the menu and amended dishes for the children (to make them less spicy). We had a professional Indian chef in the group, who is hard to please, but he was impressed and said would visit again. They provide theatre cooking of the traditional hankies and the romaalie roti, which adds to the experience. Its a place that caters for all, whether it be families, couples or groups of friends. The decor and ambience is fab! Highly recommend and am looking forward to me next visit.

I havie been a fan of Hankies for sometime now. One of the finest Indian restaurant in London opened the 3rd branch and oh boy they surely took it up the notch. Two words 'Folded Hankies' a must try. Beautiful ambience, beautiful bar, beautiful food with a great team. Surely the best one yet.

Stumbled upon this place with my partner. Incredible design - visually a Hakkasan vibe, dark colours and great lighting. But superb value - we spent £100 inc service, four cocktails, three beers, and as much food as we could eat! Yet really tasty, well presented, interesting dishes. Guinea fowl starter a must. But there was nothing we disliked. Engaged with numerous staff, each was friendly, competent, and showed personality and a pride in what they’re doing. It’s new; they may be losing trade to people who think it’s too cheap. They can’t be making money. Go before they put their prices up!

I stumbled across this place almost by accident as I knew it when it was the Mint Leaf. The review tempted me to try it out and I have to say I was completely blown away. The menu is based around tapas style small Indian dishes so you order 2 or 3 to make up a meal. Each dish I chose was excellent - the flavours, presentation and size were perfect. The menu is mouth watering and inventive. The stuffed hankies are like an Indian Cornish pasty and the best £5 you’ll spend in London anytime soon! Value for money in this part of London is hard to come by but this restaurant even ticks that box. Absolutely my new favourite place to go.

Club like setting featuring an Indian tapas style menu. Was able to walk in without a reservation and sat in a room that looked like a fashion show runway surrounded by tables in a dimly lit setting. The staff were somewhat attentive and helpful explaining the menu which consists of 100% small plates/tapas. The most attractive is the pricing averaging around £5 per dish which was enough food if you ordered 3-4 dishes per person. The food taste was average to be honest. Nothing wowed me at all and the flavors leaned more bland than flavorful. I would come here if you want a somewhat romantic setting or for a quicker pre theater meal which I would guess is the bulk of their patrons. I’m quite familiar with high quality/tasting Indian food which is perhaps why I likely would not return if just for food as the competition in the area is just too great. The bar was inviting and cost looking.

Just found the best restaurant in London! Hankies Haymarket has great ambience, great staff and great food. I am fussy eater so when I saw the menu I was a bit worried. Spoke to the waiter who called the chef Yunus who created food for me to die for! Best Chilli Paneer I have ever had, a Dal that tastes just like my mum makes and the deserts, WOW! There was only two of us but because the desert menu was so nice we ordered 3 deserts. Chocolate & Apple Samosa, Falooda, and Elaichi and rose ice cream, but the chef then also sent out two deserts off the menu, Gulab Jaman and a Butter Bread Pudding that was the best thing I have ever tasted. We had 5 mains, two Roomali roti's, 5 deserts all for under £70. And this being Central London! A must visit, but if you don't you miss out on a great culinary experience!

An new branch of the innovative Indian restaurant. It's not just innovative -- traditional items like dal stand on their own. And, the roomalis are very good. I guess a hankie is just a kati roll, but in a more compact package an easier to eat. Highly recommend and will return.

Visited with my partner last week prior to a visit to the theatre and opted for the pre-theatre menu. Food was delicious and a good introduction to Delhi street food. Fantastic prices. Service was excellent and Evelyn, our waitress, was friendly, efficient and professional. We shall return!

But its called Almost Firangi because they do a fusion of other cuisines as well including Chinese dishes. I had a lovely fish curry for first and for afters an Indian ice cream lolly on a stick with another dish with a name I can't pronounce! Love it! Probably visit again!

Upscale restaurant with a Michelin star described as “modern Indian”. Food is expertly and delicately spiced. Every dish is exceptional, from mains to dall, naan and rice. Every dish is taken to another level.
