Hanci Restaurant in Chelmsford

Shocked and disgusted by this restaurant... The portion size was shocking for the amount paid and the staff did not care... Food is below average and customer service falls far below that also.

Wonderful and attentive staff, food beyond all expectations, it was fantastic.

I am absolutely appaled by the customer service of this establishment as well as the portion sizes if i could leave 0 stars i absolutely would. I ordered 3 meals and a side dish, when they arrived they were cold and dry and the mixed shish combination portion was horrendous... £16 for 4 pieces of meat... i contacted the establishment to query on the size and temperature and was laughed at and informed that no one else has ever complained. I asked if there was anything that we could do as the portion etc was inadequate, again I was laughed at and informed that they would do nothing as they were the cheapest establishment for the portion sizes in the area - a statement that could no be more falsified and they were going to hang up. I explained that was unprofessional and I will be complaining and they then proceeded to hang up. I would not recommend this establishment and will be promoting other establishments in its place. Disappointing experience to say the least. *Response to owner* I find your response disappointing you have completely ignored the conduct of your staff members and instead of resolving any of the complaints you have blamed others and made childish accusations. I highly doubt my deliveroo driver opened up my meal to remove one piece of meat. Also even with one extra piece of meat was there that was not 300+ grams and definitely not the cheapest in the areas. The meat from all three dishes was dry which could not be blamed on the driver as I have seen at least five other reviewers claim the same without even searching. Instead of addressing the situation you have become defensive and immature. I have been reviewing establishments for years and will continue to inform people of experiences so that they don't make the same mistakes.

Went to this restaurant this evening. We were early and made very welcome,With my wife.We ordered pink fish eggs which was tasty and creamy which I can’t pronounce and Calamari with olives. It was great. The Turkish beer was great, we then had two types of lamb which I enjoyed but my wife thought it was a bit spicy,my fault I should have ordered something else. But it was very nice and would go again and would recommend it.A very nice restaurant.. I wish this place a happy future.

I got here Friday night 10 min before kitchen closure. The owner was very polite and accomodated me as i already knew what i wanted. I went for a lamachun with Adana. Hands down one of the top 3 adanana kebabs i have had and i have travelled all over and eaten at various Turkish restaurants. Service was exceptional and i guess the only niggle is the parking around Chelmsford Town center is limited. Definitely will return. Definitely recommend and its probably a great spot for couples although i went alone i was still looked after very well.

Outstanding food and service, best Turkish in Chelmsford!

When we arrived to a very quiet restaurant only 2 other tables, seated promptly, warm bread and Oil/pesto brought to table. But took some time 10 + mins after bread to come and take drinks order, which we ordered food at same time as first drinks, The food was amazing we gad a lamb sheesh and a mixed sheesh followed by white choc cheesecake. Waiter/ owner very nice, just shame on drink wait at start.

Absolutely the best Turkish restaurant in all England. I will comeback soon!!!

This is a new restaurant to the area but it is superb. We've been twice and both times it has delivered great food and lovely friendly service. It's all freshly prepared (even the bread) and we loved everything that we tried. We had calamari (the best in Essex), octopus tender not chewy (pic ), an aubergine smoked garlic dip (pic) and the mixed grill. Would highly recommend.

We very much enjoyed the food we had here tonight. We were delighted to hear every dish is made fresh to order so it takes a little longer to be ready but qualify & freshness is important to us. They also use very good cuts of lamb and chicken (extra juicy and soft). The falafels are made on site (not bought in) the lamb in the donner kebab is not minced, it's actual pure shreds of lamb which is rare in my experience. The salads are fresh and full of flavour, and the chicken/Lamb pieces were nicely marinated in the shish kebab we had. The bread is freshly baked on site too. You just wish there was more there particularly of the lamb and the rice because it's just so tasty and flavourful! Thanks guys, we'll definitely be coming back!

Can not recommend the food and the staff highly enough. Honest and friendly service. The food was delish and tasted unlike any Turkish I've had in England. Will definitely be back after lockdown 2 and will recommend to friends.

Me and friends had visited Ziyaret today...we decided this restaurant seeing the reviews it had...but were disappointed with the food we ordered. The lamb was not cooked properly. Veg kebab was just few vegetables grilled. We were taken a back seeing the grillled vegetable on plate considering the price of the dish!!! Sorry to say but would never visit Ziyaret again.

Visited Ziyaret for the second time last week. We were the very large party and once again the atmosphere was electric, the service was smart and friendly and the food was incredibly delicious. they've been in business long enough to let things slide if they were going to but they certainly have not done so. The biggest compliment I can give them is that it's just a fun place to be. I don't know how they managed to serve drinks as fast as they did but there didn't ever seem to be a very long wait even though the place was packed. And it seemed like they just kept the food coming at a slow trickle so that we were eating Delicious food the whole time. I'd highly recommend booking them for a party if you can. They are a delightful lot.

DONT ORDER THE BAKLAVA I recieved 3 boxes of raw pastry, oats?!?! And walnuts! I took a bite initially and it was just like congealed soggy porridge pastry!
