Hammer & Pincers in Boston

We have been using this chippy for years, it was always excellent with good sized portions of chips and fresh fish fried to order. However it now has new owners after the previous owners retired. Very disappointed on our visit last night to be served small, dry over cooked fish portions that had been sitting in the warming cabinet for god knows how long? We will not be returning any time soon.

This was our first time visit. The service was excellent and very quick despite us having a big order. The subsequent food was fantastic and easily fed all 12 of us. We shall definitely make this our regular Chinese Takeout.

We haven't been here for years but decided to try it again after our usual diner was closed and we were pleasantly surprised. Same friendly family service and same competitive pricing as we remembered. I had the eggs Benedict and they were nearly perfect, eggs not quite runny enough but the quantity, quality and pricing were right. My partner had a toasted tea cake and we both had drinks, mine a cappuccino and my partners a pot of tea for one that actually provided sufficient for three. We will be back again in the near future.

Ate here this evening with a work colleague and the food and service were absolutely fantastic… seated quickly even though we hadn’t booked. All of the menu sound delicious we had difficulty choosing… I had garlic mushroom my friend had calamari both dishes were suburb!! Mains I had chicken and Lamb shish with rice and a beautiful salad and they had lamb shish with salad … 2 wines and the service and food was faultless… never visited Boston before but will have business here upcoming so will definitely become a regular!! Highly recommend
