Very nice location with a great senic view. The breakfast served is varied and includes a full Scottish breakfast. Food is exerlent as are main courses. I've been going to Hamish's since it opened several years ago. Staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble. I usually go at least once a week for breakfast or a main meal durring the day.

Sunday lunchtime visit for my husband’s birthday so I thought that we would have a ride out to Hamish’s,I ordered from the 3 course set menu,and my other family members ordered from the main menu.The prawn cocktail starter was lovely and lots of prawns,my husband’s Liver was good and so was the burgers,I ordered Scampi but the waitress brought me sausage & mash???? Apparently they had been giving the wrong set menus out,I don’t know how that makes a difference as I ordered scampi off the set menu which is also on the main menu,really do not know how they had got that so wrong,all I got was sorry about that,so I sat there with no food for ten minutes whilst my husband & my son ate there’s,not good enough really & spoilt our Sunday lunch out,by the time my food arrived my husband had finished his meal,we asked for the pudding and I was asked what I would like that served with to which I replied cream,then 5 mins later we were asked again what we would like the sticky toffee pudding served with,poor communication and service today,and you would of thought that management would of made an effort at the end of our meal to apologise for the mistake made with bringing me the wrong main course then having to sit there for 10mins with no food,whilst my other family members were eating.The food was very good,and the staff are pleasant and friendly,but just poor service and communication errors spoilt it,we would of ordered more drinks and sat outside in the sunshine but after a disappointing visit we decided to go somewhere else.

Visited for brunch/breakfast with friends who were visiting for the weekend and had made a reservation. We were shown to our table on arrival and our orders taken promptly. Unfortunately it took just short of an hour for any food to appear and we were told that they had no chef and the manager was cooking. The food was good when it did arrive but it spoilt the experience especially as our friends had a long drive home ahead of them

The food was excellent when it finally arrived. It took 45mins to make 2 sandwiches. I noticed 3 chefs coming in and out of the kitchen so they weren’t short of a chef. It’s very unfortunate as the waitresses were very good just let down incredibly but the chefs speed in the kitchen. I will not be returning and if you’re in a rush I wouldn’t go either.

Having had my 50th Birthday here in the function room I really can't praise Hamish's enough. From my first contact with Rebecca til leaving after my do all of the staff really did go above and beyond. They are all a credit to their profession . The food is delicious and plentiful. All the guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food and facilities. We were a party of 23 and ALL the pre-ordered dishes were out on the tables in less than 10 minutes- truly remarkable. If you are wondering where to have you're Birthday meal with you're family and friends, then look no further than Hamish's - you won't be disappointed.

They did for my 79th. Birthday. They have just done me and my family proud again for my 80th today. What a fantastic bunch. Thank you for making my birthday a success. Your chef does steaks to die for.

45 minutes for food to arrive, unfortunately I the liver was overcooked and mushy. If you don’t know how to cook it take it off the menu.

This cafe is friendly, the portions are hearty and the views are great. We had Cibatta and Scampi with chips. We visit whenever we are in the area.

I have to admit we are regulars, but why wouldn't you be !!!!!!!!???????. Have been going in this lovely place with my partner since Covid restrictions were lifted. It remains one of our favourite places. We have NEVER received poor food or service. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We have attended 4 music nights in total, all which have been fantastic. I can recommend the Christmas sandwich and we are booked in for a Christmas dinner. I can confirm having been with all the family for the last two years that it is excellent. What means so much is that my partner has chronic illness and a disability, and has been cared for by these lovely people from the first time we ever walked into Hamish's. If you haven't tried it, your missing out.

We threw my parents a joint 60th party at Hamish's a couple of weeks ago, and I can confidently say that it would have been nowhere near the night that it was without Rebecca and the team at Hamish's. They truly went above and beyond for us to make sure we had a great night. The venue was a lovely space for a party, and Rebecca and her team set up the room so beautifully. Rebecca saw to it that the night went smoothly, and was present and attentive all night. The pies, chips, and mushy peas, were really tasty and reasonably priced. The bar was well-stocked and Rebecca made sure they had my mum's favourite orange gin behind the bar for her. Contact with Rebecca throughout was excellent and I felt reassured throughout that all was in hand. We had a meeting to go over everything a week or so before the party to make sure all was arranged so we didn't have to worry about anything. There was a wide selection of food options to choose from and were priced really reasonably. I truly have nothing bad to say about our experience at Hamish's and encourage you to book your next event there! Thank you so much to Rebecca and hte Hamish's team for making my parent's 60th so special!

The food, service and atmosphere is just wow, had the roast pork dinner and my husband had Cumberland sausage,can honestly say it was the best roast I have had in years. Thanks for a fab meal

We visited Hamishs for a late lunch and we had a wonderful experience from the minute we walked through the door.. My boyfriend had a full English breakfast that he said was such good quality food- delicious.. myself being gluten free enjoyed a tuna melt and fries with salad and coleslaw it was all so lovely and tasty.. Coffees were hit and just what was needed.. we couldn’t resist a cake after too.. Gluten free options again which was great.. Rebecca was such a lovely host, we chatted for a while about the place and plans for the future.. such a wonderful spot a must visit.. dog friendly also.. make sure you visit soon

We popped in for the Scottish breakfast and what a delight that was. The food and drinks were delicious, staff were friendly and even gave our dog some treats. Immaculately clean with stunning views. Will definitely be back

Another fantastic meal had the Beef Sunday lunch it was beautiful the beef and veg and Yorkshire pudding perfect. Once again enjoyed our meal. Will of course be back.

We’ve used this place several times now as it’s across the road from a little place we like to go to for weekend breaks. Lovely friendly atmosphere, good choice of food and sometimes they have a live artist or band. Stunning views as well

The food, the service, the donkeys next door - gosh what a wonderful experience. Extremely friendly and helpful service from the team from start to finish. The food was so tasty, I had the Carne Asada fries which contained the most tasty homemade salsa I have ever had! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the homemade burger too. The weather was beautiful so we were lucky enough to get a table outside and enjoy the beautiful view. I cannot wait to go back. To the left of the building there is a field with a public footpath and the friendliest donkeys you have ever met, be sure to take some carrots!

After a brilliant experience last time we were around here, we had 3 great breakfasts, one lovely dinner and a fabulous Sunday roast while staying at Valley View over the road. The level of service was exceptional and food hot, delicious and great quality. Thanks to chef Gary in particular for the triple meat roast with all the trimmings. It was stunning. Thanks to Rebecca and the team for making us feel so valued and welcome. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Gorgeous home cooked food, lovingly served by friendly team the restaurant is lovely, the facilities great and all spotlessly clean, the next room had a well stocked bar will return to try for the music nights! We both ordered Fish Pie which was fabulous, packed full with quality ingredients, king prawns and a massive chunk of salmon all topped with lovely cheesy mash and served with peas which is just enough. A very filling meal, sat looking at such a lovely view outside. Very reasonable prices. Lots of lovely things on the menu for my taste, would love to try the scottish breakfast and also the spicy pork and chorizo dish. Yum, well worth a trip

Fabulous place. Stopped for breakfast that was a fabulous fry up, food and service was excellent. The lady that seems to run it was lovely. Can't recommend the place enough, we even ended up going back the same day for dinner!

Such a warm and friendly place, lovely staff, very dog friendly- even tho my dog was wet from a walk! An excellent breakfast too. If your in the area definitely worth a visit for some food and a warm drink.

We were staying at Valley View for two nights. We visited Hamish’s for two breakfast and a Saturday evening meal. The food was excellent for all three visits. Friendly attentive staff and really well priced. Didn’t mind us taking our Labrador in either. They also have an outside area which was excellent. We will be visiting again in August.

Sunday morning breakfast was perfect. Veggie breakfast was great, good range of food, inc veggie sausages and hash browns. Also Eggs Royale with salmon really creamy and cooked to perfection. Coffee was good too. Excellent service and really made our whippet welcome.
