In short the curry is very good. Tried a few times and has been consistently enjoyable. Had the pizza’s twice and regretted both times. Pizza is good if on the way back from the pub and want something to soak up the beer but when sober they are bland and soggy. Stick to curry!!

Absolutely loved the takeaway food! The pizza was incredibly delicious, and I'm already thinking about coming back for more. It's the only takeaway spot we found in Halthwistle, and we highly recommend it to anyone passing through. Great find! Would recommend the pizza and munch box!

Often use this take away for pizza and indian take away - pick up times are always accurate, cash only - cash machine available at local Co-op (Inside store) and Sainsburys (outside store). Great value and tasty food. Do a great spicy pizza, cheesy garlic bread, dahl, naan breads and chicken curry.

Expensive rip off, 4 small pieces of chicken and the rest was curry sauce. Terrible service. Complete waste of money.

When I first walked in I was greeted with loads of flies. The entire place was dirty, walls, floors, counter, etc. I was reluctant to eat my takeaway given what I have just described but I gave it a go and it was as bad as I expected. Awful.

I ordered a takeaway and my expectations weren’t high but when I walked into the establishment the 1st thing that I noticed was how filthy the place was with swarms of flies everywhere. I had ordered a chicken jalfrezi which I was reluctant to eat but since I had paid for it I had to give it a go. 4 very small pieces of chicken in the meal, the sauce and rice were clearly bought in from some mass produced factory. Microwaved frozen chips too. Never again. Avoid at all costs.

Appallingly poor value for money. Mixed kebab with no salad accompaniment and extra for chilli sauce that should be included. Very little amount of chicken tikka, the rest donor meat which however was decent. Kebab in a naan bread rather than pitta bread and the while thing way too expensive. Chips were expensive and not good quality just frozen chips chucked in a fryer and greasy. Not impressed. Won't go back

Thought it was odd, a tandoori selling pizza 🍕 Waited half an hour and paid nearly £10 for a frozen cheap pizza base, absolutely covered in cheap cheese and frozen turkey ham ( whatever that is) couldn't see any mushroom because they had forgot to put it on and as for tomato sauce on the base i think that was over looked too. Basically i could of made better ham and cheese on toast! Over cooked greasy rubbish that didn't taste or look nice. Tried one slice the rest went in the bin. Definitely wouldn't recommend unless you like to waste money. Didn't take any pictures, wouldn't want to put you through the pain of viewing it.

We got good pizzas for young people here. Inexpensive and polite good service. A pile of pizzas kept everyone happy after a long day’s family celebration.

We are newcomers to the Haltwhistle area although we are Northumbrian people. Haltwhistle Tandoori has never let us down during the last six months we have had takeaways from them. Our last meal bought this week was- 6 popadums Onion bhaji Cucumber and Mango chutney dips Chicken Biryani Mixed Biryani Bombay Potatoes This was for two people but we cannot eat all this food on one go ! It provided four meals an we reheat the remaining food the next day. The cost was £24.90 which represents excellent value, especially as the food is so delicious. One downside I’ve noticed in the last six months is you get less meat in the biryanis, but the cost remains unchanged. For goodness sake put more meat in and increase the price as you’ve put £1 on (very delicious) pizzas. We noticed a similar trait when we previously lived. The Staff are very courteous too.

We had a takeaway last night a lovely ok am curry not too hot as my husband likes it cooler. Taste no naan bread and saag aloo side. We are here for two weeks will get again definitely.

Nowhere in Haltwhistle open for dinner except this place and another takeout. They advertised pizza and were across the street, so we took our chances. This was in no way pizza. greasy, no sauce, spongy and with little flavor. Tasted like toasted cheese on a naan. I understand that the restaurant is Indian, but they did advertise pizza, and presumably, they could find out what pizza is actually like before they sell it to customers. In addition, we asked for napkins (we were staying in an inn, and since there were literally no places to eat, had to take it back to our room). The man gave us two single pieces of paper towel. What a joke.

Excellent meal not expensive great service for Martin would reccomend to all tourists you don't have to go further on ure trip to find a better quality restaurant takeaway

I’ve eaten a lot of curries in my time and the food at Haltwhistle Tandoori is consistently excellent. Delicious spicy curries, like my favourite Chicken Sri Lanka, and always piping hot. Yummy rice and nans too. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our takeaway. Lovely vegetable dishes, and piping hot even after we got it back to our campsite.

The Haltwhistle tandoori is disgusting! I had a pizza from there the other day and I wasn’t cooked properly, and the donner meat on it was pink inside! I contacted them and they refused to give me a new one or a refund. They were rude on the phone and hung up on me. Do not eat from here.

Having read several good reviews we decided to try this out. Very disappointed ☹️ the curry was average at best but having found bones in my chicken breast and spring onions in our very stodgy garlic and coriander naan ???? we shan’t return.

Used to be good but won’t be going back, food is usually pretty good but over the last few months they’ve clocked up our order several times, missing rice or nann breads etc, as we live to far away to go and correct the issue I’ve always let it slip but after the last episode decided to find somewhere else, it’s getting a bit too regular,check your order before you leave

This is a takeaway Indian food restaurant. Great Indian food, chicken tikka masala, chicken jalfrezi. Great flavours. Fast service. Would recommend it.

If I could give a zero star then I would. I have no idea where all the 4 and 5 star reviews came from. The fact that some refer to the 'restaurant' suggests that they are fake since this is a TAKEAWAY restaurant. I ordered a shish kebab starter which tasted of and had the consistency of reconstituted meat.Next up was a curry - there is no point in specifying which one as my gut feel is that they will all look and taste the same. Opening the lid, I was faced with a thick glutinous looking brown soup - as if it had been put through a liquidiser. It looked totally unappetising. The taste was, well, just hot. No subtlety of flavours that you get with a proper curry. Mouth feel was as if I was eating baby food. Supposed to have had chicken in it. I fused around in hope and came up with some square lumps of reprocessed tasteless rubbery chicken.The pilau rice was tasteless and dry. The papadum was OK. Never again for me,. Truly dire.

The food here is really good, pizzas are on point and always fresh and the curries are amazing. Best place in Haltwhistle for fast food/curry. Also great for a big Donner kebab after a night out at the pub! Highly recommend it!

We were staying in Haltwhistle for a while and needed a place to eat . We were strongly advised to go to this place due to its excellent taste of food. So we went ordered Chicken Tikaa Masala with naan. Honest to god one of my best experiences

Great food, great atmoshpere! Catered for mild and spicy tastes and also had gluten free meals to choose from.

We were staying in the local campsite and needed to eat! We popped into the village and found this Tandoori. Friendly staff and the food was ready within 15 minutes of ordering. The curries were super tasty and piping hot, with good portions of meat too. All in all, very happy :)

Stayed for a week in Haltwhistle, Food was so good we got a take away twice in the week. Went for Garlic chicken both times as it was soooo good

A large order of circa 15 main courses and sides was fulfilled quickly and all was hot! The food itself was good value, we aren't local but it was a good option after cooking ourselves in our self catering accommodation earlier in the weekend

Última noche probamos las pizzas para un cambio y nos quedamos muy impresionados, toda la comida es razonable, cuando un pedido en el teléfono normal, el tiempo de espera es de 25 minutos, el punto cuando el personal sabe de teléfono que están hablando, realmente recomiendo este para llevar.

I would not advise this restaurant!! I ordered a kebab and I was given a half eaten kebab which they clearly made for them self and no longer wanted as it was cold and basically empty me and my friend were disgusted!!!

recommend the chicken chat pizza, crust was crispy and amazing! esipically after a night out, great way to end the day.

This is a local restaurant to me and have visited several times. The food is always of good quality especially the lamb shashlic! The menu is quite extensive and reasonably priced. If there is a large group you may want to share rice portions! Portion sizes are quite generous. A takeaway service is also available.

This was the only restaurant open on a cool rainy night after 9 pm. We arrived late but they served us an excellent meal.

Traditional Anglo Indian all the old favourites are there. Service was excellent, Cobra on draught, good service

Coming from London, where we have excellent Indian food, we weren't expecting such good quality in a small village - but that's what we received. Food was flavorful and plentiful. Highly Recommend.

The menu does offer e few alternative dish's for you to try, but all the old favourites are there. Service was excellent, Cobra on draught and very tasty food. The heat levels are not overly hot, so you can try the hotter dishes without fear!

Have always enjoyed the vegetable birianni. We use this takeaway several times a year and haven't been disappointed. I hope the management will work towards improving the food hygiene rating to Four or fFive and I would like to see their score prominently displayed.,maybe I have missed it!

Really good food and friendly service.I was surprised at how good the curry was in this takeaway because food quality usually drops in curry houses when you get out into rural areas.

We ordered the meat thali and the veg thali and they let us change a couple of the dishes at no extra cost. All the dishes were tasty, hot and plentful. We thought they were great value for money and we would definitely recommend calling in for a takeaway.The staff were all friendly, and if we were ever in the area again we would certainly call in for a thali.

Visited whilst staying at a local campsite for pizza, although this is predominantly a tandoori takeaway the pizzas were delicious. We did have to wait 20/30 mins however they were very busy which only reassured us this was a good takeaway in the area.

The food here is generally very good. The pizzas are particularly good. Indian take aways are pretty consistent and very generous portions. Only problem I have with this place is that you can order over the phone but when you go to pick it up you still have to wait for about half an hour. Please fix this.

six of us enjoyed a very good meal here and were made to feel very welcome by the staff. the menu is extensive, the food preparation is high quality and the presentation is good. it is a little pricey but worth that bit extra due to the quality.

I wish I could get carry out like this at home! Haltwhistle is a darling town in gorgeous Northumberland. The food here is excellent and I was welcomed kindly and helped through the extensive menu to place my order.

We've tried loads of Indian takeaways but Haltwhistle Tandoori is probably our favourite. Their chicken dansak, onion bhajis and donner kebabs in particular are lush! Great value too.

I know some people think it's weird a tandoori that does pizzas, but believe me their pizzas are to die for! All freshly baked for you, made obvious by the base. Just beautiful! And if you fancy making your own pizza, choose the 'Haltwhistle Special' and pick your own toppings :) The staff are lovely and friendly too.

we first used this curry house 12 years ago when we lived in haltwhistle and it was good then, we moved away in 2007 we always call in when we go back and order plenty of chicken chat pizza and lamb tikka balti to take home and freeze, yes we miss them that much!!After 12 years it is still the best curry we have ever had, the spices and flavours are sublime, don't miss out if you're in haltwhistle.Order your food and have a pint of real ale in the black bull just behind, you won't be disappointed

Excellent value for money - our order was so big it lasted two nights much to our surprise. Conveniently situated in the centre of the town - food was freshly cooked and speedily prepared

Charming owner ! This is a takeaway and not a sit down restaurant. Everything was freshly made (25 minutes wait) and was delicious. The chicken in the Pasanda had been perfectly grilled on skewers prior to having the sauce added, and the peshwari naan was very well received !£25 for 5 of us was excellent value. Recommended.

Don't let the exterior put you off, this place is extremely busy and serves up a decent takeaway at a reasonable price. The portions are generous without you being over faced and the menu is extensive with some unusual choices on offer.

A good takeaway, we've been using it for the last 13 years but the amount of meat/prawns in the dishes has reduced over the last couple of years.

This is the best Indian takeaway I have ever had, friendly staff, first class food whatever you order, I would definitely call here again when passing.
