Great food pizzas are well trying too only downside today was we waited over an hour and people who came in after us got there food before us🙄

Enjoyed food but quite expensive. Not in a hurry to go back.

Chose off the menu one meal of 2 courses and one meal of 3 courses. These were on offer but we didn’t want the free soft drink of coke on tap but 2 small bottles of coke. We were told there would be a charge for the coke substitutes. Which was fine but we were charged £10 extra. We queried the cost and was told the till had charged us as seperate items for all our food and stopped the offers. We were not told that as we would have chosen another soft drink on the offer.we were not offered any refund or resolution. Very disappointing

It's a great bar to go and have a pint with the football. The staff are always incredibly cheerful, especially the crazy glass collector Gary!

Had the Sunday roast, wish I hadn't. Over cooked veg, dried out roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, drowned in flavourless gravy and 3 slices of dried out chewy beef. Looked impressive on the plate but far from it to eat. The roast potatoes were cast aside as they just were not fit to eat. I did my best to brave the rest. Doubt I will eat here again. One member of staff using the f word liberally when talking to customers having an evening meal, are not the same as those propping the bar up all evening.

Atmosphere was really good. Plenty of space between tables which there is a lot of. Staff were excellent all of them very friendly and so helpful shows they like there job all had smiles on there faces which is rare nowadays. If you want a Sunday roast then that’s the place to go absolutely yummy but you need a good appetite to eat it all. We had a lot of different meals which all came out together and all delicious and hot which a lot of places fail to do. We had a lovely Father’s Day out thank you so much. Most definitely be returning in the future. 👍😂

The staff who tended to our needs were second to none, and the food was excellent, the sticky toffee pudding was massive LOL I will definitely make another visit soon.

I love this place. The service and the ambience is excellent. The menu isn't great (no mixed grill, or fish dish) but the food is good. We go every week, so that says it all.

As an ale drinker there isn't much variety on offer aside from the Holt in house stuff which isn't much cup of tea. Food is nice though and staff were very good. Parking and beer garden is always nice

Poor Staff booked a table over 2 weeks ago and was shoved in a corner no table reserved only for the locals we left and took our money elsewhere!!

We're to start, great decor, food wonderful, Craig was great checking on us and making us laugh and enjoy it more. Listening and answering the quiz questions were a bonus and next time we will be back for the start of the quiz.

We are a family with ages ranging from 10 to 70 and there was something on the menu for everyone. Food was delicious. Service was spot on, swift and courteous. 5 stars all round.

Not having an alcohol free option on the curry night deal is very poor from the brewery Joseph Holt. Not everyone drinks alcohol or pop. Needs to be advertised clearer on the promotional material.

Still a great pub. Staff are one of the best things about this pub. Garlic pizza bread and belly pork was amazing.

It was a very busy Sunday lunch time. The pizza tasted nice but it came out barely warm and my daughter opted for a chicken skewer salad and it had at least two elements of the salad missing. It was rectified very satisfactory and they were extremely apologetic. Service was excellent

Visited with the family and wasn’t disappointed. 😀:Staff were excellent, courteous and helpful. Food was freshly made and good value for money. Small Play area adjacent to restaurant which is ideal for smaller children.

Great pub, good food and reasonable prices. Service was brilliant. Friendly staff. Had a table for 5 and from order to food arriving was less than 20 minutes. Try the Pizzas, really nice.

A better and more varied menu than I anticipated by a country mile. This is far more than a pint and a curry. Pretty much catering for every taste. Reasonable service, clean, fresh smelling premises. Miles better than some other pubs in the area. An unexpected pleasure.

Forever drive past this place and never been in, so popped in for lunch. Our resident sulking teenager didn't find much on the menu, but he's a beige eater, in the end he had garlic bread and chips, and was happy. ( That's a him problem not a them problem) The food was prompt, tasty, fresh and staff very polite and helpful. And we found the place to be comfortable and the decor was tasteful. I think we'll definitely come back x

Foods not as good as it was the cheese and onion pies now a pastie could of gone to Greggs shame but the pub and staff are fantastic and we go served pretty fast

Fantastic atmosphere, nice fireplace , food really good each time been . Can’t fault it . Can sometimes be loud during football or coming home from work time in bar area but there are quieter areas to go to . Very popular .

Great pub nice and cosy in the dark winter months with a good atmosphere. Nice attentive staff and a good range of drinks and food. It's also good that it's not not centrally placed.

Food delicious, service quick, staff friendly and helpful, gets busy fast so booking a table is best. We went 3pm Sunday afternoon and only just managed to get a table

I like this place but due to medical reasons I can only eat small meals. Why are all your small meals spicy 🌶️ or with chillies etc ? Nothing I can eat here. The wife and myself had the pilates 6 to share the flavours was fantastic and a cheesy garlic bread all food was piping hot complments to all the staff. On way out spoke to the chef and told him how good the food was fabulous.

We have been long term lovers of the half way house for many years. As a family living apart when we came up to visit Blackpool the half-way house was always a go to. This year we moved up and in the last 2 months have visited 3 times. Each time it got worse and worse. From missing sides, to then a cook who couldn’t operate an oven sending out a pie that was stone cold on the inside. Today we tried the kebab hanging skewers… There are 40 year olds living in there mothers basement playing fortnight who have more colour than what we where served. This is a great venue and front of house are epic but there are no longer any chefs in these kitchens! Food prices have gone up and the skills of the back of house have plummeted to the basement to hang out with Bobby playing his fortnight. The future of this pub rests upon there mum to stop letting them coast and give them a kick up the backside to get a grip on life and actually work. It just goes to show how much a change in chefs can take a place from a fantastic establishment to serving over prices gunk that any true chef would be ashamed of. Sadly they now use “Cooks” who would not qualify as a pot wash in most establishments

Excellent One of the best pub meals ever

Great Pub with friendly staff and good atmosphere. There is a restaurant area that is away from the bar area so caters for both drinks with friends and diners.

Fabulous food, good atmosphere. Wonderful Christmas meal.

This is a locals venue. Very welcolming. Fake log fires, which create ambience. The bar snacks were very good.

Early Friday evening meal ,lovely clean well presented pub.Friendly staff who took the time to talk to our 6 yr old grandson. Well cooked,tasty food,chosen from a varied menu ,served hot .Portion sizes were good and not too much which can be off putting. Three main courses,one dessert ,two cofffees,a bottle of wine and a cola came to £56 .Great value !

Been going here for about 4year for the festive menu never add any problems before it’s been excellent.However been there 2nite and wat a disappointment only got 2 roast potatoes no parsnips available small selection of veg lot more choice In previous years not fresh roast potatoes then when we asked for more the manager wasn’t very happy so he brought them out then wen the pudding came out what a disappointment I ordered cheese cake it’s came out like it ad been dropped even the waiter didn’t no what it was wen he brought it out and when he brought the Christmas pudding out well what can I say it was a slice of fruit loaf with to drizzles of custard that was suppose to be brandy custard which it definitely wasn’t so we called the waiter over and told him didn’t really no what to say we asked to speak to a manager and then another waiter come but he didn’t really no what to say then he got a manager that didn’t really know what to do the wen we showed him what was suppose to be cheese cake and said to him would u eat it like that and he just said he’s didn’t like cheese cake then we said about the brandy sauce he said it was we said no it was just custard he said it was mixed with brandy sauce so we said we wasn’t happy with any of out meals so he gave us 10% off then to top it off the state of the toilets paper everywhere so we told the manager he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off saying oh my god.We will not be coming back any time soon

Fantastic pub. Love the local beers and always have sport on the TVs at a weekend. Good food too. Im a regular here when in Blackpool.

This has to be the worst place I have ever eaten in. The food was terrible. Lasagne was like mush with no flavours and dryer than anything. My partner had gammon and it was still raw, hardly cooked at all. There was a weird smell in there too, only way to describe it is it smelt like they had a bin full of dirty nappies. I will never go back to this place. Its well over priced for very basic menu too.

My wife and daughters arranged a meal for 30 guests here for my 60th birthday. All I can say is that the Halway house food, service, manager and staff were all absolutely brilliant. Well done to all there and thankyou for a memorable afternoon.

What happened to this place? I used to enjoy the food, atmosphere and service. My most recent visit has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I won’t be returning as a result regardless of the convenience of how close this is to where I stay. They had a really good butter chicken burger on the menu, something I’ve had on more than one occasion, this time when I ordered it, it was as I’ve they’d gone to Iceland and garlic chicken breasts to put on their burger. When I brought this up with the waitron, he came back and told me that the cook had said it’s the same chicken from the same supplier. Gaslighting if I ever saw it. The staff agreed to replace the order with a beef burger, and what came out was a dry, over cooked patty on a bun with a limp leaf of lettuce. It tasted like an old boot and honestly it made McDonalds seem like a 5 star meal in comparison. Paul, the manager who I flagged down, said he was just about to come to talk to me, even though he’d walked past my table several times during the ordeal, gave a perfunctory apology and refunded me for my meal. I don’t know what’s happening at the Half Way House, but it’s a real shame.

What a disappointment! We had so many visits here snit this was my last . If changes have been made to your products it’s important that you inform your customers not just for allergies but also for general guest satisfaction. We had to send out meals back and order an alternative due to the chicken used in their burgers being completely different from the usual product (the texture, look and taste). We opened for the beef burger instead after requesting a new meal, only to receive ‘punishment on a plate’ in the form of a burger that was significantly over cooked, badly presented and that’s before we get to how the situation was handled. Granted the young man who assisted us first was understanding, polite and helpful the same cannot he said for the ‘manager’ on duty Paul who had no business being in such a role. As a manager it is your a duty to ensure customer satisfaction as appose to avoiding eye contact and approaching every other table to see show their experience was going (yep we watched you speak with atleast 3 tables before you lowered your eyes and scurried past us). Once we got Paul’s attention it was clear to see why we didn’t want to communicate, he has no idea how to. Granted we were issued a full refund and promptly took ourself to Nandos - the whole situation could have been avoided had you just taken ownership instead of saying ‘well the chef hasn’t noticed a change’ if he can’t tell the different between Butter Chicken Burger & Garlic & Herb maybe you need a new chef (and a new manager).

Went for the pizza deal. One pizza and two drinks for £14.95. Ordered a ham and pineapple and a pepperoni. For drinks went with 2 lagers and 2 glasses of house red wine. Could see the pizzas being freshly cooked. They weren't bad. Decent size and pretty generous amount of toppings. Deceptively filling. Nice base but would have preferred a little crispier. Not the best pizza we have ever had but certainly not the worst. Reasonable value for money as well. A lot of people would be satisfied sharing the one pizza and having one drink each. Large, free car park to side. Proper disabled bays, clearly marked and giving ample room to open your doors. Ramps up to all the entrances I could see giving wheelchair access. However, I have only scored it a 3 as overall it was just your average pub grub. Absolutely nothing wrong with it but also nothing to get over excited about. Would visit here or another Holts establishment again but wouldn't go out specifically to dine at one if other options were available.

Very disappointed with our visit. The menu has been changed which limited our choice. Meal ordered of pizza and a steak meal. Unfortunately both of these were cold on arrival at the table. When staff advised of cold pizza they took it to the kitchen and heated it in the microwave making it dry. The steak had been ordered as medium rare and was over cooked. The serving staff were very good and apologised offering a free drink. Due to the unfortunate events both meals were returned and we left cooking a meal when we got home. It is a shame as it was one of our favourite places to eat. On the plus side well done for the high quality of serving staff.

Chips were awful, fish was so small I thought I’d ordered fish fingers one star for the mushy pees. Won’t be back

We came here to get some food today. Well we all really wish we never at all. The food was not cooked at all, the Gammon I'm sure was still alive on my plate I really did feel like I was eating Peppa pig alive. The lasagna was so dry it was like eating gandhi's flip flop. Four meals and four none alcoholic drinks come to over £75. The place was full of what looked like Vicki Pollards friends! The only good thing i can say is the staff were extremely friendly and quick. Trusted to say we will not be going back.

There was no warm welcome upon entering the pub with my wife and dogs. Staff didn't bother offering to give our dogs any water! We we charged an extra 10p to have cordial added to a lager! We ordered the steak baguette and buttermilk chicken wrap. Both had hardly any meat in them and they were tiny! There were only 5 cube size steak pieces in the baguette. They tried to hide the small baguette with chips and onion rings, so you couldn't see what was in there. Terrible value for the money, a nearly £29 bill for hardly any food and overpriced drinks! Will not be returning, ever.

Upon entering the pub, staff were not friendly and welcoming. They didn't even offer to give our dogs any water like most places do! We were charged an extra 10p to add lime cordial to a lager & lime! My husband had the steak baguette which was tiny and only had five cubes of steak in it and hardly anything else in it! I had the buttermilk chicken wrap, which was also tiny and also had hardly any chicken in it. A total bill of nearly £29 for hardly any food and overpriced drinks! Never again!

Lovely food, really nice pub, decor immaculate

Just had a meal for myself and wife spent £68 the food was absolutely disgusting leave of the filet as its only left overs from the meat which was like a rump steak. Really guys get a grip of your restaurant this is why you lose customer service we won't be coming back best of luck

Visited on Friday early evening for a bite to eat. The pub was very busy and too loud for my liking.. People sitting drinking around people our for food and being very loud. It's not the owners fault, I have to say. The pub is well presented and decorated lovely. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We couldn't get a lager I liked so didn't have a drink. We ordered chicken hanging kebab and a fish and chips. The fish and chips were small in size for the price The garlic butter was just butter. Definitely heart attack food. I felt this could be changed to something healthier. It wasn't very nice. It cost £14.25 for hanging kebab and £12.95 for fish and chips

Visited on our way to Blackpool and so glad we did. When we arrived it was fully booked however the manger found us a spot which was booked out for a christening but because we would of been finished before he let us sit there. We all had the roast dinners and its the best roast dinner we've all had at any pub/restaurant. Well worth the price. We will definitely be visiting again when we're next in Blackpool.
