The Taj Mahal Blackpool in Blackpool

I can’t believe I’m saying this. But this is the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in 25 years. And I’ve been to many all over the world. It should be no surprise to note that there were many Indian families eating in there and others waiting for tables. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough.

Good food, good atmosphere. Had a perfect evening out with my partner here. I'd love to recommend a dish in particular but it was all perfect

Really enjoyed our Wednesday evening Curry. I liked being able to take our own bottle of wine in. Had a Chicken Bhuna and a Lamb Balti with 2 different rice's The Lamb was the same price as the Chicken. The waiter was excellent. I mentioned that it was great value for money, he did say a price rise was imminent !

Absolutely amazing food. Best ever had and had plenty in my time. Staff amazing food come out red hot and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place. Pictures not best as my camera is terrible and we had already started to eat. 1000000% wil go back.

Absolutely gorgeous food and staff where amazing. I asked if I could take my own alcohol in and he said no problem. I got chicken tikka biryani. It was the best I have ever tasted I asked if could put fresh corriander on top and it come out to perfection. We had mixed starter and it was sizzling. It tasted so nice. My wife only eats mild curry korma and she said best she has ever had. I would highly recommend this place.

Me and my family visited Taj Mahal everything was spot on food wise etc service was spot on could not ask for a better waiter than ( Mack)

What wonderful food. I am not an Indian food lover but the food was lovely probably the nicest I have tasted. My other half is an Indian food lover and she thinks it was the best she has had very highly recommended reasonable price and you can take your own drink 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Me and my family came from Bradford to eat here and the food was everything we could have hoped for and more, definitely recommend if are hungry and want great food.

Having visited this establishment previously, it was good. Visited it again recently and it was busy. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not able to cope with the demand of the customers. Service was slow and the food was warm, this was a let down compared to the previous good meal that I had. The one waiter was doing everything he could to satisfy the guests (Caucasian male) whilst the other lad seems off pointing and very arrogant at times. I don’t think he ment to be but when your in a front of house role you have to smile even when the child are down or in this situation the restaurant is busy.

The curry was horrible, definatly dont no how to make one, gave us bad stomach's for days, would not order from this place ever again, very bland in taste, looked like puke tbh, don't be fooled by the decor, if I could give a 0 star I would. Place needs new cook.

There was no one there when we went at 20:30. We were shocked but we already inside we don't want to feel them sad. This was first time we went to a restaurant where no customers at all. Customers service was really good from that staff from the counter. There weren't ice cubes he went to buy to the shops outside. Forgot to look the name on the batch. It was a white man. Thank you to him.

Chicken tikka masala, Asian style which is a bit spicy, mushroom fried rice, naan, yogurt mint sauce. Very delicious food here. Also a clean nicely presented dining experience. Come here for great food with great variety of dishes at a very reasonable price. You'll be spoilt for choice.

We have been coming here for years, and the food is AMAZING, the staff are so friendly, Mack in particular is always there to welcome us and make our night special. The best nan I’ve ever had!!!!!!!

The food was absolutely atrocious. If you are new to India food then perhaps you would like it , but if you had this kind of food before then unfortunately you will be disappointed.

I went with my friends for asian food. We ordered lame Rogun Josh and vegetable Rogun Josh with chapati and tandoori roti as well. Food was no taste as they mentioned in their menu. Service was very poor as their staff. If you wanna go with family or friends please avoid from that embarrassment.

Very bad service we are waiting for long time

We were on holiday in Blackpool and found this place due to good reviews and bring your own bottle. We were staying locally so was about a 5 minute walk but good parking on the street. We had phoned about 3 hours before just to let the restaurant know that we were coming. When arriving staff were lovely and there was a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and polite. The starters were amazing so were the main courses. On a Saturday evening the service was very quick. The food was delicious and mild. The whole family was very happy and throughly enjoyed the meal. The staff were great at explaining dishes and the spice level. The costing of the whole meal was very reasonable. Overall I would 1000000% recommend this place due to lovely staff and atmosphere, food, reasonable prices and bring your own bottle. Thank you very much

Rubbish curry house. I ordered, told they don't deliver, ok. I'll collect. Arrived. Took 10 minutes before someone acknowledged me.. got the curry home. It was Stone cold.. avoid for takeaway

I've been to Blackpool north for a business trip for 3 days from London We were looking for a place to eat.. fortunately found great restaurant 😋🕌The Taj Mahal. Nice and clean restaurant Very polite and friendly staff with great service . Most of all, very tasty chicken curry 🍛 Mix grill garlic naan..butter naan I loved the taste of the food, that's why I went there 3 days in a row.. we tired different dishes.. freshly and perfectly cooked 🍳 well blend with special ingredients and spices... special thanks to Kais, the chef👨‍🍳 i will definitely go back there again.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ain khan

Nice service and nice that it was possible to bring beer or wine to drink with the food! We ate some bland Indian dishes that were perfectly ok but would have liked to have been a bit more flavorful. The naan bread was delicious 😊

The food was very flavourful and not oily compared to some other places, it was tender and everything was just right. The service was brilliant, I didn't have an issue at all. The establishment was clean and tidy, they kept on top of the place even during peak hours. I would absolutely recommend going if you're in or near Blackpool. 10/10!

Came here on a Saturday evening very busy but we got a seat. They serve no alcohol here so bring your own booze (there is a tesco next door) food was good, very tasty and plenty of flavour. Recommended coming here for a meal if In Blackpool

Best curry house in Blackpool just the chilli garlic chilli and was amazing

Absolutely blown away with how good the food was took my partner for her birthday the staff went above and beyond for us to make it as special as possible the food was amazing and this is coming from someone who isn’t normally fond of curries or Indian cuisine in general ….however everything that I tried and tasted was fantastic the staff are a credit to the owners will definitely be back again soon!

Went for my birthday. Food was fabulous and served quickly. The pakoras were especially delicious - I've never been taken by them from any other restaurant, but these were brilliant! A great time was had by all!

Fantastic service, food choice is huge and whilst we generally go for the same dishes we cannot fault it This is the best Indian restaurant in Blackpool I would highly recommend chicken tikka rogan Josh, garlic naan and chicken tikka sashlick Staff are helpful and will advise on the menu Will be returning very soon

Was greeted & seated & given a menu to browse through, On opening the menu I was greeted with disbelief as there was dirty food in the greasy menu, On asking for a replacement clean menu, I was laughed at & several menus were checked before I was handed a clean one with greasy finger marks on, Food was not much better as Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like bland chicken in a cheap tomato soup thickened up with cornflour,plus the chicken tikka pathia tasted like a sauce out of a jar of Pataks & all the chicken was cut into small pieces instead of left in the chunky pieces the way they should be cooked. Not the best place to eat

Been there first time for dinner with family.. Ordered couple dishes nd couple naans... eated naans nd waited 20 mins that someone will come to ask more order or naans.. No 1 come around at all then I headed towards their kitchen to knock someone come out.. I said story but he didn't listen nd said u not ordered all in once before.. We dont take after orders I said well we need to order according to wht we require as every restaurant has different portion sizes.. but he is not accepting... Still saying we take all order in once... Was STRANGE to to me as when we go to any restaurant we order in between if we want more food... So not happy at all with service nd attitude. As they not mentioned this in beginning... So from me 1 star

Wow. Highly recommend this place to everyone! The food was incredible, especially the lamb curry and chicken wings. The service was top-notch too. Even though I traveled from another city, it was totally worth it for such a fantastic dining experience.

Food was amazing and the staff went out there way and provided excellent service. Very polite and friendly, we drove down from Preston and was worth the little drive. The lamb curry and the chicken biryani wow left speechless the flavours the tenderness of the meat and the spice everything spot on 👌🏽 will definitely be coming back again. I thought Blackpool was just the place for fish and chips now it’s the place for Indian food too!

Excellent food and service.Used many many times, never had even a mediocre meal. Added bonus, you can take your own alcohol, with a Tesco Express 50 yards away to save you carrying from home. RECOMMENDED +++++

Dry bar, went in there with my son (19) after a long trip from London. Arrived at 22.10 and was informed, your starter and mains will come up together as the kitchen was shutting, covers for 50, not one person been there all night. Avoid it, grab a chicken burger from Chequers.

Having been to lots of Indian restaurants, It's the worst Indian food I ever had. It was overpriced, stale and terrible. The lamb was freezing cold and the curry around was hot. Would not recommend.

I booked a table for 9pm he said if I didn’t turn up on time he will give it away, I turned up on time and no tables were available for us no ready no staff to help I have to wait until the next table is ready and clean big layer!

Good clean restaurant, friendly front of house, good menu selection, polite service, good quality tasty food with good portion sizes. We came as a family of 4 and would definitely come back next time we ate in Blackpool 🙂

If you’re seasoning with salt and pepper, this place is perfect for you. I don’t normally leave reviews good or bad but this place place I didn’t like the food apart from the lamb chops as a starter, the poppadom did not taste fresh and tasted like they had been sitting out for a while We ordered a few different dishes and asked for it to be spicy. All we tasted was spice there was no flavour to the actual food. A bad experience for us and we eat this type of food regularly.

A warm welcome from Nisa and her family, the food is all cooked fresh, amazing onion bargains, crisp on the outside, soft n loads of flavour in the middle, the chicken balti was also very tasty, full of flavour,nice soft chicken. Pashwari naan was also extremely tasty, lovely sticky middle. Mac is always on hand fir all your needs Well Done Guys we'll be back soon

Fabulous food and excellent customer service. All of our plates were emptied. We found this restaurant by chance and we are so very glad we did. You can take your own alcohol or drinks with you. Prices of food very reasonable. We will be back here soon. The staff are excellence and polite and helpful. Very clean restaurant so thank you all for our beautiful meal.

Turned up at 7pm , nothing special, typical back street Blackpool restaurant. However waiters were not welcoming , no atmosphere, bored looking staff, took a while for someone to wander over to us to then inform us that there was no tables despite there being about 7 tables and it wasn’t busy, plus it was 7pm.. I wouldn’t recommend seems like they aren’t keen on custom - AVOID

First visit tried the chef’s special dishes superb highly recommend. The service was good really just no complaints and may well visit again tonight.

Terrible food, and not even saying this as someone who is of Indian heritage. It's not authentic, it's not tasty, it's just bland onion heavy sauces, and not even priced well. Restaurant was very cold and the waiter advised they couldn't turn on as they closed at 10pm, but it was 8pm Poor food, poor atmosphere, and felt sorry for poor waiter

Visited with a few friends on Sunday 22nd October and the place is a hidden gem in Blackpool . The food and service was first class , it was my birthday and they even produced some cakes with candles as a surprise . They will be getting another visit next time we are in town.

A gem of an Indian restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. Staff very polite and service quick. Atmosphere good and very chilled. A really good experience here and would definitely go back next time we are in Blackpool. If you like great Indian food this restaurant is a must to visit.

Clean, tidy. Food is ridiculous! Almost too good. Like, you are not worthy of how delicious it is. Took my parents out of the padded walls for the day to get some unfiltered air and they enjoyed it too. 11/10 way too nice! Service is great too. Thanks.

Great food in great surroundings not far from the Blackpool Tower not licensed but can take your own with no corkage, what's not to like.

I've given a 3 star only because the chicken madras wasn't as good as the last time we ordered. We ordered over the phone and collected an hour later. Thank you.

An amazing place for fresh, tasty and authentic Indian food. Atmosphere in the restaurant is great and really adds to the experience. You can tell the Chefs really take pride in their work as it shows through the delicious food that's being served, and is all fresh! Service is also great, we didn't have to wait long at all for our food despite the restaurant being quite busy at the time. Plus all the staff were very friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend to anybody looking for somewhere to eat in Blackpool

Lovely modern Indian restaurant. Pleasant friendly staff. alcohol menu the food, freshly cooked and extremely tasty. One of the best tasting Currys that my partner and i have had in a while. Would highly recommend

3rd time I have dined here and sorry to say the last time. The service was extremely poor with the one waiter working not seeming to care much at all and the guy in charge not seeming to know what was happening. An hour and a half wait for the food which we can definately say wasn't worth waiting for. The sauces on the curries were very runny and had no distinct flavour. I had a lamb madras and it did taste like it was out of a cheap shop bought jar. I hope they can put things right or it will be another empty building in Blackpool

Visiting blackpool thought I'd try a takeaway, being Indian and sad to say the saag dish was tasteless I asked for spicy and all I could taste was the chillies and no flavour just bland with hot chillies, this was a waste of my money. Simply can't cook.

It’s a fine dine family restaurant. Prices are not very high and portions are good and delicious
