Haldi in Aylesbury Vale

Haldi is a very welcoming restaurant, very friendly staff. The restaurant is small and compact split into 2 halves. The tables are always very well presented with crisp white table cloths and napkins. On this occasion my daughter and I chose a takeaway. We live in a neighbouring village. They offer a free delivery service within a certain radius. We had onion bhajis to start, we only needed one each as they were huge and delicious. For our mains we had the chicken korma and and king prawn palak, along with mushroom rice, poppadoms and naan bread. Our dishes were very generous and absolutely delicious. I also think very reasonably priced. £41.00 for all that we ate. This restaurant never fails so deliver and also as a takeaway. Thank you so much Shelim and your staff. Highly recommend

The food was excellent however the past 4 times in a row now staff have forgotten things that we ordered, its a shame I have to point this out bit someone has to, family never bothered complaining despite getting frustrated.

Excellent Indian food. Have been to many Indian restaurants up and down the country. The Haldi is simply the best in my opinion.

Really enjoyed our visit. All the greats are there. Nice table decor. Modern plates. Big portions. Freshly made dishes. Friendly service. And the old orange wedges at the end (not had that in years). Recommended....Toilets need a reurb though.

Wow! We visited on a busy Saturday night and we had the best meal we have had at an Indian restaurant in AGES. Amazing food, amazing service, couldn’t have left happier or fuller. Thank you so much to the management and your team for such a lovely evening. Great atmosphere, food was so fresh and full of flavour. I came with my boyfriend and my dad and we had a lovely evening. More than a great restaurant, Haldi is a community hub. The food is delicious and service from Shelim and his team is friendly and attentive. We use their take away service but also really enjoy dining in. It’s a great option on the way home from work during the week. Always a warm welcome at the Haldi!

Thanks to all the staff at Haldi for a wonderful evening. We were a party of ten celebrating a 90th Birthday and 65th Wedding Anniversary. The food, setting and service were all absolutely excellent. We couldn't have wished for a better night out. Thank you all, very much :)

Visited the restaurant with some friends for a catch up…(only my second time) I’ve not been since covid so was unsure what to expect.. Had a very warm genuine welcome from all of the staff The service we got was very attentive and was given plenty of time to go through the fantastic selection of Indian dishes. The food was amazing along with the presentation. I’ve visited a lot Indian restaurants over the year, but never encountered this kind of service.. I don’t live in the area but would go out of my way to visit again.. You can’t really go wrong here…try it

Fantastic. They opened especially for us Sunday lunch time. Fantastic service and food. We ordered a lot of different dishes. Everything piping hot and next to nothing left. The best compliment we can give a restaurant is empty plates. We have eaten here many times and cannot recommend it enough.

We went for dinner on a weekday and had a very nice meal with friendly service. I like a curry, and this one was well spiced with good ingredients. One of the best bits was the naan bread. They can be a bit heavy sometimes but these were cooked perfectly and were some of the best I've had. I would definitely go again.

As something of a regular here admittedly I find it a little odd writing about how good Haldi is. My wife and me are addicted, devoted, committed - say it how you like, we simply love the fabulous flavoursome food here and after yet another unbelievably good meal tonight we both agreed that we don’t give Shelim and his team enough praise. I’m a lover of a hot Vindaloo and Haldi never fails to deliver a dish with depth of flavour that goes much further than a hot chilli kick. Mrs P is more of a king prawn on purée lover, though she has exacting standards when it comes to the size and quality of her prawns and she too likes a specific flavour. Tonight’s meal was just exceptional however. I can’t pinpoint why or how, but it was simply exceptional. At a time when the price of everything is going through the roof or reducing in size or quality, you’ll find it impossible to complain here. As I’m writing this I’m salivating whilst thinking about tonight’s meal…and our next visit.

As a local resident we use this restaurant as a take away and to sit down and have a nice meal. The quality of the food is amazing, with fantastic flavors and presentation every time. The staff are always so polite and accommodating that you are always happy to go back. If you want great cuisine and a competitive price then give it a try.

We were camping nearby and they delivered the food to our tent. Food quality was better than you'd expect for the cost. Children did moan it was too spicy but they enjoyed most of it anyway.

Under the circumstances they are doing a fab job and the food is excellent. Keep it up and can’t wait to eat in in the future whenever that will be .

From the time we arrived to the time we left was excellent .The staff were brilliant ,with banter too !The food was the best we have had in ages good portion sizes as others have put the prices up and cut down on the meat ,thought the mela was good but the Haldi is the Harrods of Indians in our opinion!!!! The Haldi is an ex-pub which has been converted to an Indian restaurant in a modern style. The food was tasty, cooked well and nicely presented. The service was excellent although on the night I went the place was virtually empty apart from a steady stream of takeaway customers. I have been on a previous occasion when the chef prepared a tasting menu including dishes that i have not seen or tried before. Overall, a very good experience an time was had by all.

We visited Haldi for a family meal and had the most fantastic time here. The staff couldn’t have done more to accommodate us and they even decorated the table with confetti and balloons for my mum’s birthday. Absolutely delicious food. Would definitely recommend!

I had an evening meal at the Haldi restaurant last night and have to say the food was excellent. I had the Sabzi Dansak, plain nan and mushroom rice plus a couple of side dishes, all wonderfully tasty. Very attentive and friendly staff, I thoroughly recommend this restaurant if you like a good spicy meal.

The Haldi is a small and intimate restaurant in the centre of Pitstone with its own car park and street parking nearby. A very good range of dishes are served including some more unusual specials, but sadly no Indian desserts. There is also a modest range of beers and wines. We found our food excellent, with well judged spices and good flavor, with generous portion sizes. Service was excellent, both in terms of friendliness and efficiency. Prices are competitive too. A most surprising restaurant for a village!

When in this part of the country we always make a beeline for this restaurant..l just love the attention to detail, from the linen table clothes and napkins, fresh flowers on the table to the very friendly and efficient waiters, always looking so smart...all these details take this Indian restaurant to a whole new level compared to most we have eaten in.There was a constant stream of people for take aways.....lucky locals!Our meal was great, generous portions, in fact too much so we had a doggy bag!At the end of the meal we were all offered a nightcap and wished a merry Xmas.Thank you Haldi...fabulous restaurant, fabulous manager, fabulous waiters, fabulous menu and wine list...and thank you Chef...FABULOUS FOOD.

One of my work mates came her a few weeks ago and highly recommended it. So table booked for three and we all turned up on time. Friendly greeting from Staff at the door, sat at the table and drinks ordered. Wednesday is taster night, so you get what's on offer. Excellent mixed platter for starters, chicken tikka, lamb kebab etc, served with salad. Main course was five dishes with rice and nan bread. Plenty for three people. All tasted fantastic. The venue is clean, tidy, very modern, lovely wine glasses and clean cutlery. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Will deffo be back !!!!

We took my Mum out for lunch as she hasn't had a curry in ages due to her restricted diet. The staff were so helpful, preparing low fat food specially for her. We all enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back, although next time we might share the onion bhajis as the portion was huge!

This was our second time ordering a take away from here. The first time the food was late by 20 mins (collection) but I believe you should give everything two chances incase they were having a bad day.

What a surprise in sleepy Pitstone. Really enjoyable evening with friends made better by the amazing quality of the food. Well spiced, lovely textures, good combinations, it is no wonder they keep winning awards 😀

My wife and I were away for a week and spent two nights at Pitstone in an Air B&B; , We wanted a meal in the evening so decided to try this amazing Indian Restaurant. they asked if we wanted pompadoms we said yes two please , they brought three and only charged for two.

I wrote a review a few years back about shocking service, although the food has always been great. I had dinner there again tonight with my husband, and although I could never fault the food, this was probably the best Indian meal I have ever had, the service was great and we will definitely be returning again soon.

Six of us went for dinner as this was the local Indian restaurant, notable for the enormous bubble water feature behind our table...( somewhat distracting ) and the gigantic onion bhajees. The rest of the meal was standard fare with the tikka massala a tad sweet and the rest being acceptable if not exceptional, would I go back ? probably not.

It’s always a real treat to come here. To have this restaurant in our neighbouring village is just fantastic.

We booked a table for 9 for a informal birthday meal on a Monday evening. The food was universally excellent (especially my Chilli Chiken Masala !), while the service was attentive without being intrusive. The bill was excellent value, and we will be returning at the first opportunity.

We visited Haldi last night for dinner and loved all of it. Previously we’ve always had takeaways from here which are excellent but last night decided to eat in. All of the staff are really helpful, efficient and lovely. The atmosphere is great and it’s immaculate. Such a great local restaurant.

My daughter went for meal with her boyfriend last night. They booked but were made to wait, were given a bizarre table snd food was unbearably slow. Waiter was very odd, smirking at them and made them uncomfortable/awkward. Will stick to the superb Cafe Masala!

Food is amazing as always. Great atmosphere, they also have a dessert menu that includes apple pie etc.

Had a fantastic meal there today. Great food and staff always friendly .Every year they give a free meal to over 60s in Pitstone, I don't know of any other restaurant that does this .Fortunately this is our local Indian restaurant. How lucky are we .

Visited here on a Saturday night to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was packed to the rafters, good job we booked!! Service was a little slow but only to be expected when they are flat out! Enjoyed our meal and will be back again in the New Year!!

Me and my family have been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years now and I don't have one bad thing to say about the place. The staff are always friendly, helpful and East to talk to, the food is amazing and can't be faulted, the atmosphere is lovely, the restaurant inside is very nice and there is plenty of parking. Haldi is award winning for a reason. 100% highly recommended!!

Consistently great food whether you eat in or takeaway. The Haldi sets the benchmark high for other Indian restaurants. Lucky to have such a good curry house in the village.

I went to a fundraising dinner at the restaurant for a set meal and was blown away by the quality of the food. I have not enjoyed an 'Indian' meal as much since eating at some far pricier London venues in the past. The service was entertainingly light hearted. I will return.

Went here on a hot summer Friday evening, it was fairly quiet but we had the pick of the tables and the staff were all friendly and looked after us . Food was good , decent portions , good beer and a drink on the house - all in all a good local choice if staying in the area

I met a friend at Haldi for lunch today. We were told that they're having a fire safety inspection today and weren't open for lunch. Upon hearing that we'd both travelled 30 min from opposite areas to meet up there, we were given a table by Ahmed, who put on music for us and served us with great courtesy and friendliness. Lunch was delicious and Ahmed bent over backwards to make our experience absolutely brilliant. We were so impressed that we have booked a table for another meal. Absolutely highly recommended!

To live so close to this fine Indian restaurant. We brought our grandson, who is a red curry fiend (Chicken Tikka Masala to you and me). After demolishing the popadoms we all went on to enjoy the curry. I had Garlic Chicken Chilli with extra Chilli and my wife shared the red curry with a side of curried vegetables, cant recall the name (Karai?)but astonishingly tasty. Service is superb as always. Fabulous restaurant on the doorstep.

PreOrdered a takeaway for 14 people to be delivered around 10 miles away.. perfect is an understatement.. delivered on time (by Shalem himself smartly dresssed), food was hot and all correct, we knew the quality would be amazing having eaten in their restaurant and it didn’t disappoint.. thanks

Had a party at the weekend and asked Haldi to deliver food for 16 people to Aylesbury a 20 minute drive from the restaurant ,it was bang on time and once again excellent quality, very impressed and the owner came in had some photos with us and was as charming as ever ,I can`t say enough about this place always consistent !!

Had a great evening, only ones in due to the England match! Wonderful food; the new waiter was lovely and a free glass of wine from the owner Shelim Ullah because England won! We were made to feel so welcome.

We have yet to eat in at the Haldi, but every take away we have had has been great. Tonight was no exception. My favourite is the Gosht kata Marsala with special rice. The flavour is really good and is spicy but not too hot.

This was a surprise. We are currently on a narrow boat cruising down the Grand Union and stopped near to this restaurant for an evening meal. We were treated like royalty and were served the best Indian food ever! The staff were very polite and friendly and the food was prompt in coming out. We would throughly recommend this restaurant. Go try it!

Wow. Last minute takeaway & what a stunner. Everything freshly cooked & beautiful flavours. I always ordered chicken tikka masala but at the Haldi I’m always tempted to try something new. Well done Shalim & team. What a gem.

The food and service at Haldi is excellent. The owner went out of his way to help when a local Taxi company were trying to charge me a small fortune to take me home. He drove me home himself! Such a lovely gesture and much appreciated. My friends and I have been there twice so far, and will definitely be returning.

I'm not local, but this restaurant is well worth the travel. Ambience and atmosphere is fantatic, food is incredible

This was a takeaway not a restaurant service. We are on a narrowboat and eat a lot of Indian takeaways near to the canal system. Seriously good food. Vegetables are often overcooked in Indian restaurants, but not here, they were still crunchy and wonderfully vibrant. Not too much oil/ghee. Hot. Good portions.

Incredibly lovely when a restaurant measures up to the hype. We had heard about Haldi from a lot of people. It’s fantastic. Food is fresh, delicious, beautifully presented and most importantly cooked to order. The Bangladeshi fish dish was heavenly. Will definitely go back and not just because the owner is a Spurs supporter.

Indian meals don't normally excite me I find them all a bit similar even the more expensive restaurants ,it`s a bit spicy quite nice normally with a large group of friends but nothing special .

Live in Northamptonshire but have family in Aylesbury, who visit Haldi regularly, definitely will visit again, best curry we have tasted

I was very impressed with the food and how friendly the staff were. I had lamb and chicken dishes and the meat was very tender with no fat. In some Indian restaurants I find the food greasy but this was not. I have heard good reports of this restaurant and it certainly lived up to them. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and can’t wait to go again. Yes I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Although we live near Bristol, we have friends near Pitstone so never miss an opportunity to dine here..love it. Staff friendly and helpful. Food is just the best..my fav is the Chicken Achi but my fellow diners all loved their choices.very generous portions so we had doggy bags!

We live in Leighton Buzzard and would rather travel this 6 mile journey than go to a local Indian. Wednesday night is buffet night is a set menu. The remainder of the week you choose from the menu. We tried two visits and both were outstanding. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We'd heard good things about this restaurant, so decided to visit and made a reservation. When we arrived we were tepidly welcomed and ushered to our table. The restaurant is attractive and obviously popular, with a strong base of repeat customers, both eating in and ordering food to be delivered or collected. Our drinks order were taken and we were given a good 20 minutes before our food order taken. The starters were AMAZING. Fantastic value....the onion bhaji's were a meal in themselves!! The mains were fine, but nothing extraordinary. Positives were the starters, pleasant decor and fairly good ambiance. Negatives were the sluggish and slow customer service, which was half hearted at best. In addition, one of our main meals was not quite what we ordered (we'd ordered the slightly dearer lamb not chicken, as we'd heard it was fabulous, but we were still charged for the original item). Don't get me wrong...the food is fine and the prices perfectly reasonable, but it's probably not worth going too far out of your way for dinner here.

A friend and I went to Haldi a few months back and were unimpressed. It was bank holiday Sunday and they seemed surprised by how busy they were. The service was slow and fairly half hearted.

We went early on Sunday, so not very busy. Environment was good and the table settings excellent. The staff were very well dressed and attentive.The dinner was good. Not the cheapest around, but good.I wish that the house wine by the glass included a dry finish choice and, as always, with Bangladeshi restaurants I wish there was a cask ale available. But that is just me.All in all a decent restaurant and we are likely to go again.PS Soon the car park will need some tidying up.

When we arrived, there was only 2 other people eating, and nobody else came in while we were there. We waited almost an hour r our starters, and then our main course came up, almost as soon as we finished our starters.My husband did not get the starter that he ordered, but we waited so long, he just ate it. The food was OK, but not as good as we expect.The cost seemed quite high, but they didn't want us looking at the bill for too long!We have been here before, when we are visiting our daughter, and really enjoyed it. However, we will not be returning.
