If you're after a filling meal for a great price then head here, £14.95 for main and dessert. Call or message ahead. Nice variety of veg with turkey and beef with added gravy on the side. A veggie sausage (tasted like Glamorgan) was available instead of the meat.

Came here on friday evening with a large group of friends. Great atmosphere and we had a basic but very good and very good value for money bar meal. There is also a good and very reasonably priced restaurant menu. Wife and I booked for sunday lunch. We attended today for as booked 2.15. Place was very busy but we were met and seated straight away without fuss. Drinks order swiftly taken at table and brought very quickly despite volume of people. Food order taken within five minutes a choice of turkey or beef or a bit of both, we opted for both. The dinner came swiftly and the bit of both was actualy a very good portion of meat, both were excellent. Lots of vegetables, roasties, mash, yorky pud, stuffing etc etc etc. Seperate gravy and we were asked if we wanted more gravy, a nice touch. Be very hungry if you go for sunday lunch. To sum up Superb smiley staff Good beers Great food Great prices

We live locally but hadnt been here for several years. Went for an impromtu meal, it was really busy as it was quiz night. However the food was fresh and hot. Shouldnt have ordered the starter though. We both ordered off the specials board and got portions that we would have been happy with as sharers - so having eaten our very lovely starters we couldnt do justice to the equally delicious mains. Very good value meal and will definately be back.

Quiz advertised so went to join in We sat in a little side bar and they ssid quiz in bar there was an l shaped bench that would take about 8 or 9 but this had coats on a little bit like the joke about towels and Germans. Two very small tables by the pool table enough room for two at a table if you are lucky. Not very clean smell toilets not sure if I would have eaten if I had seen toilets first. A little girl about 11 or 12vtaking food orders !! (She did very well) looked like a young teen behind the bar very slow and got drinks order wrong there was only four if us. Well we left before quiz as no room and we certainly won't be back.

A good local pub with restaurant and bar meals. We ate here several times on holiday. It pays to book as food is not available every night and sometimes the restaurant's taken for private functions. The menu is limited but quality good and excellent value. The sirloin steak was as good as I've had anywhere and the Wednesday night special was lovely. Service was good, as was the humour! Real ale is offered with guest ales providing variety. An interesting selection of gins is available. Strangers are made to feel welcome by locals and staff alike and dogs are welcome in the bar area. We had a bit of car trouble and everyone did all they could to help.We really enjoyed the pub and look forward to returning.

We were recommended a visit to the Gwarcefel Arms for food and we haven't been disappointed! All of the staff are cheerful and friendly and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. The food itself is absolutely wonderful - on a Sunday the roasts are excellent and the vegetables change with the seasons as they should do, rather than the usual frozen peas and crinkly carrots that most places serve up. The portions are huge and yet the prices are very modest. Only one complaint - you need to book as it's so popular!

Excellent!!!!! The best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time! Called there last Sunday and didn't know what to expect. A friend recommended it so decided to try it - brilliant. The staff were amazing and the food was out of this world. Can't wait to go again. Had garlic mushrooms as a starter - never tasted anything so divine. Had cod with prawns as main course with all the veg etc. - amazing! So much veg and so delicious! One tiny comment - there was no cheese and biscuits on offer, but I don't think I would have room for it anyway!!!! Well done Gwarcafel Arms xx

Went for Sunday lunch and was impressed with the portions but the gravy had a smoky flavour to it: smoky? The bar staff and waitress were excellent and couldn't have been more attentive, the meat was extremely tender but had a texture to it that tells me it wasn't just roasted and that some other method had been used to cook it, rendering it almost too soft . The veg was excellent. As a matter of personal preference i would prefer not to have a 'tower' in the middle of the plate (it looks as if one thing is trying to hide the others) but all-in-all it was good value for money and we will be back.

Recommend for a really melt in your mouth Sunday Roast Beef dinner, served 12-2pm. We hadn't realised the time and arrived after 2.30pm last Sunday, but were still very kindly catered for, which was much appreciated after a 2 hour walk. The portions were very generous and lots of delicious veg side dishes provided with it, including lovely creamed leeks. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this meal and at £7.50 per head was super value.

We called in on the off chance at Sunday lunchtime. We were greeted by a charming lady who was keen to help, however the tables designated for people with dogs were all taken. We were disappointed but that was nobody's fault but our own for not planning better. My father (80's) and I decided to return for a drink on Tuesday evening. I don't know if every Tuesday is pool night but if it is I wouldn't recommend anybody from outside the village paying a visit. At the bar we were greeted with a stare by a young barman (no sign of the charming lady from Sunday). As soon as we spoke the two pool teams who had made it difficult for us to reach the bar changed from speaking English to Welsh - a nice touch even if we've seen it all before. We sat with our drinks. Then the jukebox was turned up to an extremely high level. We couldn't work out if this was designed to drive us away or to cover the fact that they were struggling to hold conversations in welsh and had reverted to English. We stayed for a second pint, more out of bloody-mindedness than for any form of pleasure. Eventually it was the swearing (in English) that caused us to give in and leave. The barman called out to say goodbye as we left (no not really). Shame, from our Sunday experience it could be a very welcoming place.

The food was tasty, home-cooked with suitable accompaniments and adequate portions. The menu isn't huge, but covers most bases, and in my experience a large menu usually means a freezer full of ready-meals, and here the food all seems to be freshly cooked to order. There was a bit of a wait for food, but again it's cooked to order, so forgivable. The prices are reasonable. The wine was decent quality and inexpensive compared to usual restaurant/pub prices, so overall bill seemed good value for money. The Gwarcefel is a proper pub as well as being a restaurant and has a good selection of draft ales etc, and a local, Welsh feel. Our group enjoyed what they had, and felt relaxed in the atmosphere.

Warm and friendly with hosts and clientele alike providing a welcoming atmosphere. The food is well presented......mixed grill to chicken breast in tasty home made garlic sauce et al, is good value, and a wide range of starters and sweets complement the menu. A good choice of beers and cheery staff also help the experience. I visited with a friend for my first time on the 22nd January and the fires were helping recovery from the freezing temperatures outside. I can recommend it and appreciate the feeling of being a valued customer. This is not always the case these days so thanks to management {toby} and staff for a nice evening.

Our food was nice, I had the creamy chicken and potatoes which was good. Like something you could cook at home though, I wouldn't say it was anything special.Bit of a mix up with one of our party's meals but sorted fairly quickly and the waitress was lovely.Finished up around 8 and we had taken our teenage niece - a half naked man with his rear end hanging out of his jeans staggered through the pub, obviously very drunk. Whilst I appreciate it's a pub, people drink I would absolutely avoid going here with any children. Once is enough. The man remained drinking in the pub which is not what I would have expected. The atmosphere was awful, only music on to start was from the door to the kitchen (which by the way, owners, we could hear every conversation and obscenity uttered from our table!). There had been one other table eating in the restaurant area with 3/4 drinking out in the bar. I would strongly advise people to dine elsewhere. This place is good for a pint and a burger if you want to get drunk but not for anything else.

As a fellow member of a community I feel it's a must to advertise this local and professional business. The bar man is a jolly character and is very down to earth. The waitress is extremely down to earth with great "banter" and not to forget the chef which is a very experienced with top class meals and excellent presentation. I must recommend the steak which is incredible! The meet melts in your mouth:)the waitress is always there to sort out what extra things you want. The bar staff were competent enough but it was not a great dining experience! The waitress was very inexperienced and it showed. We all have to learn - but poor communication skills and a nervous disposition do not add to the overall experience. Food was adequate. We waited a long time to be served. The steak was not of a high quality. [quite gristly ] A previous comment ref the 'chef' should be taken seriously - food presentation is important, and low quality dishes should not leave the kitchen. We told the waitress about the poor quality of meat on offer - but no offer of a discount was mentioned, and good chefs visit the table to find out the cause of any complaint.Overall - mediocre at best. Do not visit if you want a nice meal!!!

We held our wedding reception last Saturday at Gwarcefel. Ned, Mark and everybody pulled out all the stops and presented us with a veritable banquet. Banners, balloons, "fruit" punch and a superb spread of delectable salmon, ham, turkey, quiches, pizza, wraps, sandwiches, the list goes on. Absolutely superb! Everything was handled with good natured efficiency. We also had a nice meal the previous night although it was quite late when we ordered (our fault). KEEP IT UP. The sign outside said "new Chef", and we have not been since this pub re-opened Philip and Angela left, so we were eager to find some Friday night enthusiasm...Bar was adequate and front of house informal but friendly.Waitress was inexperienced though, and the food bordered on mediocre. My rump of lamb was tasty enough, and the steak was not bad at all ... But the mushroom lasagne was a reheat frozen job, and the spare ribs were not only pre cooked but barely reheated! Most of our group were unimpressed; there was no indication that there was any real "chef"The new owners are going to have to do better to get the return of any serious diners.

Our evening started of bad and got slowly worse. We waited ages for the food to arrive, well my food arrived 15 minutes before my wifes, to be fair the steak was quite tastey but the garnishing was a bit thrown together - mushrooms were over cooked and dry, salad was.....salad. i waited for my wifes choice to arrive (steak and ale pie), but after 10 minutes fo fear of my meal going cold, I started to nibble, my choice of sauce never showed until I reminded the waitress and was then told it was unavailable but i could have an alternative at no charge - fair enough, again more apologies. Now the clincher...my wifes selection, the steak and ale pie arrived minus the pastry lid, it consisted of a bowl of steak pieces in a gravy although my wife did say it was rather tastey, it did look rather ....sad. £2.00 was deducted from the bill for the missing pastry! Maybe it was just a one-off bad day - I aint gonna find out!!

The pub is local to my mother's house and is on the Llandysul to Lampeter road on a crossroads in the hamlet of Prengwyn. It's quite easy to miss but worth looking out for.The pub is run by Phil and Angie with Phil doing much of the cooking. The beauty of the pub is the food, which is traditional pub fayre but done very well. The produce is fresh and sourced locally (the eggs in the omlettes are often turkey eggs from the local farmer). The chips are hand cut and come separately...they wont fit on the plates otherwise!!! The menu is well stocked with tried and tested dishes. there are specials available and sunday lunches. The quantity is legendary (3 sausages, 2 eggs, beans or mushy peas and a HUGE pile of hand cut chips for around a fiver?...you cant go wrong!) and the pubs trade is on repeat customers. you'll be advised to book for the sunday lunch. The desserts are always home cooked too and excellent. My daughters love the 'Philburger' as they've christened his burgers! There is a well kept bar too with guest ales or the refreshing 'Taffy Apples' cider. The prices are very reasonable too and dont reflect the quality or quantity (but dont tell Phil ).If you want a great selection of proper pub grub, at a great price and in belly busting quantity, you will be hard pressed to find better. The staff are always very friendly and you wont leave hungry....or broke.

Absolutely shocking service. The attitude on the person who has just served us was appalling !!!!! I don’t think she’d appreciate being treated in the same way. Practically threw the food at us and that wasn’t before stalling everything on the counter. Clearly everything was an issue. Sadly she didn’t wear a name badge but looking at previous complaints the manager has the same bad attitude so I’m guessing it was her. I have written a complaint to their head office and I hope she is reprimanded. In such a pandemic she is lucky to still be in employment. I won’t be calling again.

We like the Coffee No 1 chain and as we were in Cardigan on holiday, we popped in their coffee shop, along with the dog, for a short while. As with all Coffee No 1 shops, the staff are lovely - they even gave us a bowl of water for the dog. The coffees and Welsh cakes are delicious and all in all, we spent a lovely 40 minutes or so in the shop.

OK Chai overview: Bit too spicy for us. It was OK Chai. Room for improvement of recipe and blend. Price of Chai (regular): £3.85 - O Coffee one was okay. The chai was a little inconsistent and clumpy but you know what, IT TRIED. And that is what matters most. What are we all if not a little inconsistent and clumpy? A little rough around the edges? I know I am. I appreciated the chai, and I will continue to do so. I also liked the barista dude he's a nice guy. - Overall rating 3/5 - <3 3.5/5 - Spice 3/5 - Consistency 2/5 - Price 3/5 - K I love coffee one's atmosphere. Very studious, however the chai recipe still needs to learn a lot. It was OK Chai, not blown away by it, but it wasn't bad. Very much in the middle, not failing, but not excelling. This is really reflected through the consistency, which felt a little gritty under the teeth. However, the staff were so lovely and they are absolutely amazing. A* for them. The Chai however? Solid C grade. - Overall rating 2.9/5 - Price 2.8/5 - Spice 3/5 - Milk options 4/5 - Smooth 2/5
