Disappointed at the lack of gluten free choice

Went for a Sunday roast with a party of 5 adults and 4 kids. Most roast options were already sold out. What was left was pork which was overcooked and very dry. Food took an hour to arrive, the place wasn't even busy, maybe 5 covers. No apologies from service over late food, they forgot our drinks order. Overall a very sub par experience. Shame as I had been before a year ago and it was a more positive experience. Not sure what's happened to the place.

Really enjoyed our evening here, although with my seafood risotto, there were only 2 types of seafood included, and I would expect more variety. However, it tasted ok, and service and atmosphere were good. My husband really enjoyed the Café Gusto fayer his meal.

I ordered a bottle of wine for my friend's birthday as a surprisee to be sent the table. I went intivthd restaurant and took a card snd paid for the wine. Rob the Manager reassured me the wine would be sent to theirr tabke. I found iout rwo days later that he never received the wine nor the card. I rang candy spoke to Rob he apologised andcsaud ud get a refund. I never received ut.bi want jn. Bar staff took my details and bank said ut woukd be processed the next day and she woukd ohine me never happened. I rang and spoke to Rob who told me two working days. Never happened.vrang yesterday he was conveniently in a meeting. He told the member of staff it could take up three weeks for the refund and he'd ring me back. NOT. Really bad customer service. I'll have to go back in yet again. It''s the principle and being fobbed off.

Service was excellent but chicken was dry, dessert was mediocre… I think it’s the location that still attracts people though I will never get the obsession with Didsbury either 🤣

Made reservations there tonight . Our 4th anniversary. Great food fabulous staff Was looked after like King and Queen. Will come again soon. Thank you all.

Good menu, but very long wait for food, maybe short staffed. Staff were apologetic and tried their best however. The starters were good; main course okay but not up to usual standard, pizzas a bit doughy and undercooked. Risotto too stodgy. Nice restaurant, quite noisy inside.

We arrived quite late but were welcomed beautifully and attended to by Jake and Josh who was warm & knowledgable. Really appreciate the team for accommodating us ❤️

My family and I visit this restaurant twice a month. I usually order the rib-eye steak with a salad, while the kids go for pizza. This time, my husband decided to try the meatballs. Normally, the food arrives hot and is very delicious, but this time, it was already cold by the time it reached our table. I think it might have been due to the restaurant being very busy and possibly short-staffed. Despite this, the overall quality of the food was still good. It was just a minor slip this time. I will definitely come back and hope to enjoy a hot rib-eye steak next time.

Superb as always. Not been for a while as we've had a newborn but was so nice to revisit. Hands down the best restaurant in Didsbury for us, the current menu is superb and the cocktail menu is equally as good. Our server Jake was excellent as were all of the other staff we interacted with over the evening. Can't wait to come again soon.

Went here as a part of a "wedding eve" meal - we were a party of 7 and it was a really great evening - the staff were really great, as was the food. The best thing was that the bride to be (who was very, very stressed) really enjoyed every minute of it (as did all of us). I really don't think we could have had a better evening anywhere in Didsbury. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked for a "return visit" to Didsbury in late June and will be paying Gusto a return visit

Been here with my husband a few times. I tried their scallops dish for starter and Carbonara with additional chicken this time as I was craving for some pasta and my husband ordered a pizza. Love how creamy the sauce was especially with the added parmesan on top and how Al dente the pasta was, the scallops was fresh and tasty too. My husband thought the pizza was really good as well.

Beautiful food. Allergies taken into account and staff went and double checked that things would be OK. Waiters very attentive. Good size portions. Very enjoyable evening

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gusto Italian with a group of friends, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Aoife, was incredibly lovely and attentive, making sure our every need was met. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall charm of the evening. I highly recommend Gusto Italian to anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine served with a smile.

Nit been for a couple of years since moving out the area. Went for lunch today and boy was it an absolute treat. Delicious food, I had the duck followed by crème brûlée . Every mouthful was delicious. Also Nick our waiter was super nice.

Went on mother's day although we knew it would be busy we waited 45 minutes before we even got drinks over an hour before starters ..

Made my birthday very special. Complimentary cheesecake and free drink as they forgot it at first. Food gorgeous nice atmosphere.

The duck is the best thing on the menu, always bang on! Fantastic selection of wine and cocktails especially during the festive period. Brownie and caramel ice is also really good! Excellent service

Went to Gusto for work dinner. Everything was prompt and delicious. Service was great.

The food is just alright, however, it didn’t meet my expectations. I was a little disappointed with the Carbonara. Moreover, the spaghetti was too thick for my liking, which made it difficult to balance the sauce with each bite of the pasta.

The food here is very good for a chain, but beware if you're vegetarian or vegan, the markings on the menu are hilariously inaccurate. I'm not veggie but it caused endless confusion and amusement at our table. Non-wine choices are limited. Acoustics on busy nights are abhorrent.

Go to Albert's on Barlow Moor Road instead. Terrible, had a table of 10 of which 1 was pregnant and had an item in a meatball cut her palate, food was mid at best and salmon was dry. The venue looks good but was let down by poor food.

Phoned 5 times with no answer or answerphone - the booking wasn’t allowed online as there were 9 people. No replies to my 2 attempts to contact online. Amazed they are still in business.

Been here twice in the last month and enjoyed the food both visits. I think it's terrible to put a 12.5% service charge on. Tipping should be optional. I asked for the bill to be amended twice to remove which again is ridiculous. Why are you charging 12.5%? Is the price paid for food not enough and can we not tip of our own back. I won't be going back again which is a shame as it's a faff to get a bill without such a high charge.

I really like Gusto. It's got a great atmosphere but we didn't have amazing service and it can be expensive. Also don't like the idea that 20% service charge seems to be placed on the bill as a matter of fact

I visit here regularly. It's a good place with good food. On this occasion it was busy and service was slower than usual and it was incredibly noisy...but lively and fun!

Didn’t feel very welcomed or taken care of during our visit today. We didn’t wait too long for our order to be taken or for our food to come out but interactions with staff members felt frosty and we felt quite ignored. As we were leaving, we walked past the staff member (host/manager) who seated us and he stared at us and offered no goodbye. Our initial interaction with him wasn’t very warm either. The restaurant is very loud due to both music and people (the latter obviously can’t be controlled) and it made it very hard to have an enjoyable date night and talk to each other. The food was absolutely delicious though and the decor is lovely. The chicken and mushroom pasta and the pork gnocchi were great. We did end up paying the 12.5% service charge but wish we hadn’t.

Great atmosphere, the calamari was perfect and a great start to the evening, the steak was cooked well, finished off the evening with tiramisu which like the starter was perfect. Overall I would highly recommend Gusto in Didsbury

Unfortunately this was a really stressful dinner - we had to chase waiters to order, chase the food once ordered, chase to order additional items and the same to pay the bill. Not at all the fault of the staff who were perfectly pleasant. Massively under staffed. The food was nice but overall it was expensive and there was no feeling that we were being looked after in any way. If we hadn’t gone to the effort to keep trying to grab attention, I don’t think our order would have been taken for a very long time.

Had to send all 3 dishes back to the kitchen. Ordered from the Christmas menu.: The soup was cold, it was served in a bowl, no plate underneath it, no accompanying slice of bread. The main meal was also cold in temperature. sent this back..reheated in the microwave. The waiter brought dishes to us in his hands without a tray...not the best etiquette...I've not been to Gusto for at least 3 months, I will take a break from them again.

The service was friendly and great but the food weren’t really, we had three corse meal, stater was alright, main was kind of disappointing, nothing special, dessert cheese cake was shocking, it had a weird taste and didn’t taste like a cheese cake. Just think it’s not worth the price that we paid. I also had a really bad diarrhea in the middle of the night…overall not a great experience.

Good food good service, first time there will return

So, I went here to celebrate with my daughter for her 21st. Lovely environment with a nice atmosphere. Little bit disappointed they didn't come out with a small birthday cake as I did put birthday when I booked. A bit expensive but worth a visit if its a special occasion.

Waiting service was ok at best, they could have been both quicker and friendlier. The restaurant wasn't busy, and we were a table of 10. Food was good and enjoyed by all. Lunch menu is reasonably priced.

Nice food, portions are not the biggest

Gusto continues to provide expensive pseudo Italian type food. It's decor and layout is very classy and has a really great size with retaining a level of intimacy. Staff are professional and efficient. Then the food 12.5% surcharge (optional) But the food is poor. A pork chop on a bed of spicy beans shows such a low level of imagination and then the actual execution of such a simple dish let's it down even further. Pedestrian pasta dishes and over thought pizza disappoint. I am not going to be convinced to try Gusto again. The last 4 visits tell me its a restaurant for its location and style not for the food.

Another good night in Gusto with our waiter Mike providing good service. The vegetarian options here are well worth the visit.

Felt rushed by the waiter even though it was half full. Places the food in front of us without any patience. No eye contact when speaking to us. Generally no warmth.

The guy at the desk was extremely rude and off hand, we arrived and had not booked although for the previous weeks we had not booked and had been greeted by very friendly, this particular staff member needs to learn some customer service skills. On arrival we were told the kitchen was too busy to take orders and we would need to wait 30 minutes. The restaurant was not even full to capacity, not sure why we the order couldn’t be taken as we were happy to wait 30 mins for food to arrive at table,. We waited and then asked another staff member to take our order when we were the ‘told off’ because we had been told food orders would take 30 minutes! Left shortly after that, terrible customer experience

Shocking service and the place wasn’t even full. 20 minutes before they even asked us what we wanted to drink and that only because we called them and wait wait wait to order and wait again for food. When asked if everything alright I said no, very lacking in chicken on my salad. Said he’d bring me some more. Eventually did but only after reminding him and then he actually put the extra on the bill. Refused to pay for it and for service charge. Shocking. Will never go there again. Rip off.

Gusto Didsbury has always been my reliable, delicious local Italian restaurant. I've been going there for years as a happy customer. Today, I visited with a friend. My pasta dish was served (fresh parmesan grated on top by the waiter) but after one or two forkfuls I realised it was too salty to eat. I made the waiter aware (I think his name was Anthony), who apologised and took the dish back to be replaced as quickly as possible. He returned with a beautifully seasoned replacement, and offered to comp our first round of drinks to make up for it. I was so surprised and grateful for the great service, that of course I had to leave a review! Would highly recommend this fantastic restaurant for great food and excellent service!

Just popped into Gusto's about 6.00pm on a Saturday evening. Hadn't booked but were greeted very warmly and got a table straight away, even the restaurant and Didsbury in general were very busy. Service was quick and very friendly and the food was lovely. Would definitely go again.

Food was great.Ordered scallop starter - highly recommend, prawns with fennel- lovely, ceasar salad starter with chicken - needed extra dressing- polenta croutons are sinfully good. Quiet Tuesday evening , only 2 staff on, they closed off 75% of restaurant to condense customers. There were a couple of times I had to go to the staff to make requests, other than that no issues. Will return!

Went here just for dessert. The table wasn’t cleaned properly. The toffee pudding was nothing special. The hot chocolate was a bit flat. The music wasn’t calming and didn’t suit the lovely interior.

Loved our first visit there on Tuesday, we were served by the lovely Jessica, she's an absolute credit to the establishment, made sure we were well looked after and even helped interpret some confusing art! Made extra care to cater to my Son with an egg allergy too, even checking over the ice cream options. The food was amazing, I'll definitely return.

Pretty disappointed with our visit to Gusto. We went as a party of 4 for my Gran's 80th birthday. Despite the online reservation explicitly asking if it was a special occasion, no attempt was made to make it so. I don't expect freebies, but some decoration to our table or even a "happy birthday" would have gone a long way. Additionally, we were sat far away from the accessible toilets despite also listing this on the reservation. The wait for our starters was fine, and they were really tasty and reasonably sized. Unfortunately the wait for our mains was pretty long (despite us ordering around 18:30 on a not too busy Thursday), to the point where we had to ask how much longer our food would be. When they finally arrived, the main portion sizes were on the smaller side and I wasn't stunned by the quality - especially for the price. We all left feeling a bit deflated, and we won't be coming back. There was a 12.5% service charge added automatically to the bill, which we paid.

Come here with work colleagues. Food is always lovely and really tasty. Service excellent as always. Would recommend 👌

Unfortunately the pizza oven had broken down on my visit so half the menu wasn't available.

I gave this restaurant 1 star as the service I received was poor my main meal came and I didn't get my side of chips which I ordered until I reminded the staff member by then I nearly finished my main meal and when they came the chips were a very small amount and scrap ends not a proper portion like I see on other customers tables Shame on the restaurant overpriced and poor quality
