Cracking meal. Always have the vegetarian biryani and it’s amazing. Staff are always super friendly, too!

I came very first time in grantham and want to taste Indian asian and i came here. It's one of the best indian authentic tastes i get here. Highly recommend and staff was friendly. Nust need music in restorent.

This restaurant was booked as a last-minute affair, & I wasn't disappointed the food & service was very good although the decor, in my opinion, could do with a refresh. The overall experience was very pleasant, and I would definitely go back again.

We haven’t actually eaten in the restaurant yet but we order from them frequently for takeout. The curries are amazing, we are obsessed. My only advice is give yourself enough time to order on the weekend because they get very busy so it can take a while! Nice employees also, we look forward to our Indian takeaway nights!!

Me and my friend went to Gurkha square last Sunday very quiet but food was lovely I had a chicken dish with spiced vegetables my friend the special both meals were smashing wine was nice as well service brilliant waiters help full well worth a visit .

I ordered a takeaway last night and found half chewed chicken from someone else's dish in my madrass. It was obviously from a korma type dish. If this ‘restaurant’ is involved in disgusting practices of ‘recycling’ meat from guest foods, this is deplorable. I feel sick just thinking about it. Do yourself a favour and AVOID

Visited Gurkha Square eighteen months ago and had some really nice food there. As we were staying nearby Belton Woods Luxury Lodges, decided to take the family for another visit. We arrived after a visit around the Easton Walled Garden, the day was hot actually sunny, and we had spent hours exploring, so were pretty hungry. We ordered poppadoms and chutneys and pints of Cobra whilst perusing the ample Menu. We all chose large dishes such as Lamb Stew, House Special Mix Karahi with Pilau Rice Lemon/Coconut was especially nice and the side vegetable dishes were to.

So tonight for the first time. Very disappointed. Been ordering and eating in here for many years. Since it opened. Daughter went in to order and asked for chicken tikka masala - No chicken - just the sauce. Not hard but this is not what she got. Total waste of time, money and food. Atmosphere Zero - very frosty at home as she didn't like her curry sauce that was too spicy. She never liked anyone elses to swap with her either. FOOD - 2 stars as two of us were happy with ours, SERVICE - 1 as we got served just not what was asked for.

Enjoyed a delightful dinner with the esteemed ladies; the cuisine was exquisite.

A very lovely evening on Tues 25.06.24 with my 2 sons. The food was first class. One of the best Indians I've had for a long time. The service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I will strongly recommend.

I've eaten in and had a take away (15% off for collection, was a winner!) in the last week as I've been working in Grantham. Good, friendly service and tasty food! Many of the main dishes from the menu come with rice included. The Momos are sooo good. No complaints

We stopped the night in Grantham on our way to Norwich and and came across the Gurka Square. Never had Nepalese food before and it was truly delicious!! Excellent food, relaxing ambience and very good value. Would go again to Grantham just to eat there!!!

The Sunday buffet is delicious.

I always get delivery and decided to tip 20% tonight. Ordered from here many many times, and without fail they have always been perfect! My usual is a korma and most places are pretty bland. But honestly it's the most flavourful Korma I've ever had. It's always packed full of meat, whatever curry I chose!! Portions are more than what you get other places as well. And it's well worth the money!!

Had the set menu but couldn’t eat it all so asked if we could take it home the lad said NO 🤷🏻‍♀️ I said we usually do but he said we can’t with set menu …we had before 🤦‍♀️. We had paid for it so where’s the problem with taking the rest home …. Not sure if it’s changed hands or not Usually cotton napkins on table this time nothing & I noticed the table clothes were stained …. Normally we love it there and always tell people how nice it is But unfortunately this time we didn’t .. needless to say we won’t be going again

The food quality was satisfactory; however, enduring a three-hour wait for delivery, only to have to retrieve the order myself, was utterly unacceptable. Despite contacting the restaurant five times, I received inconsistent delivery times and explanations each time. It turned out they mistakenly delivered to No 14 instead of No 2, a baffling oversight compounded by their abysmal lack of communication. Furthermore, the offer of complimentary drinks for a £55 food order, which included delivery, in lieu of a full refund due to the manager's absence, was insulting. Thankfully, the order was placed through Uber Eats, allowing for a full refund to be processed. Whoever was left in charge tonight night should never be entrusted with such responsibility again.

Gurkha square never fails to deliver on food. Been ordering from this restaurant for years and I’ve never had a bad experience with the food! The butter chicken is amazing, so flavourful and creamy and the vegetable samosas are incredible. Delivery was a little late today so i called the restaurant and they we’re so polite. Food came shortly after and was well worth the wait!

A recommended restaurant. Our group of 10 was split between 2 seatings. 8/10 throughly enjoyed their meal. The other two were unimpressed. I loved my Nepalese Style curry lamb, which came with rice for £14.99. The service was great, the beer at £4.50 a pint reasonable and overall I would gladly return.

Had a takeaway from here, for the whole family. As usual i slightly over ordered but the food was amazing, especially the nepalese lamb and seafood platter. Will definitly be getting 1 a week so we can go through the whole menu. Big portions but small prices. brilliant

Yep, all the good reviews are right! Took the wife out for a treat and it was spot on! Definitely one of the best curry's we have had in the area and very reasonably priced! Well be back soon!

Lovely meal, good service, but when we asked for our remaining food to be boxed up, not all was returned to us. Disappointing.

Took 2 hours to be delivered on 2 occasions. Rang them and they put the phone down. Would rather they advised a 2 hour delivery rather than lie and say 45 minutes.

Very nice food but restaurant rather cramped and hence can be noisy. Good value banquet meal on certain days not to be missed

We’ve had 2 takeaways recently, the food and service are first class. The set menus are very generous and the food was great. The only suggestion I’d like make is to move on from plastic pots for takeaways and use sustainable materials.

Hands down the best Indian cuisine I’ve had, every dish had its own unique flavours and marinated to perfection , not the usual generic standard food … highly recommend prawn puri to start .. the palak paneer and butter chicken were exceptional , not local to here but will definitely will be back .. 5 stars

Absolutely brilliant service here. The food was incredibly tasty and beautifully presented to my table. The restaurant's atmosphere was warm and cozy. I don't say this often but the gurkha spuare is my absolute favourite place to eat Indian food in Grantham. Possibly even Lincolnshire! Highly recommend visiting this restaurant you won't be disappointed and your wallet will be very happy! 😁

My other half had a prawn vindaloo last night. This evening we came to a romantic getaway. Upon his arrival I was greeted with him using the lavatory for a good 20 minutes. When he exited the smell was like nothing on earth, an ungodly smell. I had to open the window and fumigate the room whilst we went for dinner. After asking him what he had eaten last night he suddenly realised it must have been the curry. This experience has put me off ever ordering a prawn vindaloo ever again.

Went back hear again and had a fantastic lamb Rogan. Vast improvement on last time

Walking past there was a really nice aroma, so I decided to give them a try. Plus Nepalese sounded fascinating & not like typical Indian food. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service attentive. Very happy and definitely recommend. 👍

£45 pound of inedible food,dry and bland.

Really enjoyed our meal in Gurkha Square whilst visiting Grantham for a few days. We were greeted by very friendly, polite staff who made us comfortable on an extremely hot evening in June '23. We both enjoyed our first course of Chicken Sheqwas which were moist. tender pieces of chicken breast cooked in herbs & spices, just the right sized portion for an excellent tasty start to our meal. Then for mains we both opted for the Nepalese dish Bhutuwa with rice - one lamb, one duck - both were superb with lovely quality meats which melted in the mouth. coated in a beautiful lightly spiced sauce. Portions were so good that we could not finish everything despite us both having very healthy appetite's. We also considered prices to be good value for quality of food served. Only wish we lived nearer and could make this a regular favourite haunt.

4.6 rating? I don't think so! DON’T ORDER FROM THEM! Called the store as soon as they open 5pm to be precise. I’ve ordered a meal for myself after a long day of work and travel. Made some especial request to put knife and fork in the bag. Was told delivery would be 45 minutes but ended waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Rang a few times to find out where my order was. People here are clueless and procedure or organisation. The food that was delivered were wrong, food are sub par and no knife & fork. No apology or anything. Absolutely appalling!

Service was good, friendly people but food was not on par. The rice had been pre-cooked & heated up, there were clumps stuck together that were cold (like a packet microwave rice). It did not taste fresh. The Chicken Kalimirch was very unappealing when it arrived. We had one spoon each & left it. The Nepalese Duck Bhutuwa was slightly better. During a visit to the toilets you could see through to the kitchen, there were bulk trays of sauce and food sat out on the side and a lot of cleaning up to do. I wouldn’t not have eaten here had I seen the kitchen prior to ordering.

I ordered a take away last night (29/04), for my father in law as a birthday treat and spent a considerable amount £66.60, the reason I am only giving 1 star, which should be 1 start is because we all got food poisoning and were on and off of the toilet several times, I called to complain and make them aware and was insulated with a 50% refund, if you have giving us food poisoning then you should be giving me 100% refund. I will be taking the matter further because this is not acceptable.

Ordered a takeaway from here. Didn’t have to wait long to pick it up and it was still hot and fresh when we got it back to where we were staying. Lovely quality food and portions large also! We shared and glad we did. Naan was lovely too!

Food was good, as always. However, the staff were not particularly efficient, especially as the restaurant was only part full. No member of staff was alert to us as customers and we had to attract their attention away from their chats behind the bar counter on more than one occasion. First to have our food order taken then later to ask for more table water and finally to request the bill after they had cleared the table. Nothing major to complain about but it was disappointing. We have been regulars here for some years but something has changed for the worse. New owner/manager??

This was not our first visit, but we were sadly a little disappointed on this occasion. To start we chose Chicken Chaat Puri and Chicken Sekuwa. The Chicken Chaat Puri was not as described on the menu, as there was no fresh coriander or mint to be seen, but it did come with the added addition of chopped mango pieces. We were looking forward to the main course, as we chose the Chef's signature dish of Lamb Rann but unfortunately, this was very tough and surprisingly tasted of very little. The Peshwari Naan was the highlight of the meal. The Paratha were nothing like we had eaten in Kerela as they were made with wholewheat flour rather than Maida and were certainly not reminiscent of the delicious layered and flaky flatbread. Our previous visit was very good but just not on this occasion. I'm not sure if we will visit again.

We were delighted to find Gherka Square Restaurant when visiting Grantham. The food was lovely — very good and very large portion sizes for those who like to eat big! Nice wine selection. Terrific service. Such kindness. We recommend.

The food is good but we ordered via their website and the 3rd party handling it are very poor. They took our money but then the app hung. I rang the restaurant and they said it was probably because we were trying to get it delivered to Barrowby. “Do you not deliver to Barrowby?” I asked. “Yes, but the app doesn’t seem to know that” So I asked them what was the best way to deal with this. They said just order directly and then we’ll cancel your earlier order when it comes through to us and you’ll get a full refund. A month later and I still haven’t had a refund and have just ended up paying over £90 for a meal that should have been £45. The food was nice but it was not that nice. Beware!!

Great service, the food wasn't to my taste unfortunately. I had a peshwari naan & coconut rice with my meal and I just wasn't keen on either even though they are something I always enjoy. Maybe I just chose the wrong foods on this visit as some of the other foods are good I'm sure

Booked a table for this evening sat 21 January ..absolutely brilliant ..staff were great and food was beautiful…so much better than the New Year’s Eve fiasco at Everest Indian restaurant where the food was disgusting ..there’s no comparison Gurkha square is the absolute best ..so people take my word for it and forget Everest and take a trip to Gurkha 😁

If I could give this restaurant a 10 star I would, we are here on a trip and after checking reviews decided to try here. Booked which was a wonderful idea as it was packed . The smells were amazing and seeing all the dishes on another table I found it hard to decide. We ordered poppadom, onion bhaji, rice , tikka masala , Bhuna, naan and saag aloo. It was all so so tasty and fresh . We loved every minute. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and attentive.

Have been here a couple times now and never disappointed but went the other night with 6 friends and wow the food and service was outstanding. Most said it was the best food they have eaten in a long time. Will definitely be back again, the MoMo’s are amazing.

We fell in here exhausted and hungry on a long drive home one night this week and they were lovely. Sorted us out with vegan and gluten free curry no problem. Better still it was delicious curry. I would happily go back.

Tuesday evenings are banquet night at Gurkha Square. Delicious and plentiful set menu, with starters (3), mains (2) and one vegetable dish, with rice and naan. Very affordable at £13.95 each. You will leave happy. Visited with my father and it was a lovely setting...
