A great venue, service and food excellent.

Best Indian we’ve ever been to. Flavourful dishes and the quality of the meat was unmatched! The staff were honestly so so kind and the service was fast and efficient. We will definitely return. Thankyou again!

Me and the wife went yesterday 7th it was late in the evening just over a hour before closing so didn't expect anything.. but wow what a experience from the start we was greeted with the upmost plesent. Man we ordered drinks that was served very quickly we had poperdoms and chutneys Spot on we continue with how food everyone who served us was 100% spot on after completing I spoke to young lad he told me it is a family run restaurant there is so much passion in what there doing.....if you want to try there experience take some time in looking at the decor this to me sets the comfort so overall massive thanks for your food and kindness very much appreciated and definitely will be happy to see you all again soon lovely ol job

Really great lunch here, the food is fantastic, really flavourful, beautifully presented and plentiful. The staff are lovely, friendly, helpful and fun. Nice ambience, really good food and great service

If I could give ten stars I would, from the poppadoms to the main was absolutely delicious, the poppadoms come with 3 lovely dips. This time we had onion bhaji and lamb kebab, which was cooked to perfection. My korma was so creamy and the chicken was so succulent, we had the pilau rice and peshwari naan and again cooked fresh with top quality ingredients and so flavoursome, one of each was enough for me and my partner, every bite was beautiful. This is our go to treat restaurant, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Also has plenty of car parking across the road and a desert place next door.

The Gurkha Lounge Hampton is out of this world!! Me and my partner travel for over an hour every time to just eat there. The staff and food are second to none and they can’t do enough for you. We had heard such good things about this restaurant and from the moment we stepped in the door and was greeted by Kris and his team, we could see why. It was busy as Saturday eve but such a lovely atmosphere. I love the decor and layout. The starter, and mains were so yummy. I’m not a spice fan and opted for a chicken korma but it was so tasty and lovely chunks of chicken breast in the best creamy sauce! The rice and Naans were amazing and we were too stuffed for dessert! The restaurant is spotless as was the ladies bathroom when I visited. The staff are so attentive and caring and every single one spoke to us and they are so friendly. This was our first visit and definitely not our last!

Excellent food, professional friendly service.

Since moving to Peterborough sone years back, we were searching for a great Indian restaurant. Found Gurkha Lounge a few years back (pre lockdown) and have been coming ever since. Travel 15 miles to come here so definitely worth the visit. Food is Indian and Nepalese so good mix. Always very well prepared and extremely tasty. Staff are exceptional and very friendly and helpful. 20% off food on Thursdays and Sunday lunchtimes which helps. Not busy but always a few in so quiet but good atmosphere. In my opinion one of, if not the best Indian restaurants in Peterborough.

My husband and I found this hidden gem on our way to London based on reviews, and it did not disappoint. It was one of the best meals we have ever had out. Everything we had was full of delicious flavors and cooked beautifully. We are from the United States but will definitely be back on our next trip. I can't recommend this food enough.

What an amazing restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the food is exceptionally good . The owner gave us advice on the menu and I was very brave and had lambs kidneys for starter and Goat currry for main. I was not disappointed definitely the best Nepalese / Indian food I have ever tasted. Full marks to you all

Excellent food attentive staff 😋

A nice welcome, easy going staff, amazing food. But it's the small details that count. The waiter saw that my 11yr old daughter was ordering lots of mushroom flavoured things, and when he saw that she was slightly disappointed that they hadn't got mushroom naan on the menu, he said he's ask the kitchen staff if they could do it (they did - she loved it), and joked with her that unfortunately they couldn't do mushroom flavoured coca cola. As we were leaving, he told her how to blend and add mushrooms to flavour other simple dishes. Small gestures, but she was talking about it for ages afterwards.

A Disappointing Experience** Our recent visit to Gurkha Lounge was nothing short of a disappointment. The starters (Chilli Chicken, Spicy Fish & Onion Bhajji) were nice, however, one of the the most glaring issues was the portion sizes of the starters. Compared to previous visits, the portions have noticeably shrunk, making the meals feel less value for money. This was particularly disappointing given the already premium pricing of the dishes. This was fed back to one of the staff members (wearing a white shirt) as we complained and was later rectified, which was appreciated and we were satisfied. The biggest disappointment of our meal was the Chicken biryani & Prawn Biryani. What should have been a flavorful and aromatic dish turned out to be bland and lacking any distinct taste. It was clear that the spices were either used sparingly or not at all, which is unforgivable for a dish that relies so heavily on its rich flavor profile. When we attempted to provide honest and constructive feedback to our waiter, it was dismissed outright. The waiter refused to acknowledge our concerns and instead argued with us, insisting that the food was up to their usual standards and that we should have asked for extra spice. The waiter was continuously giving defensive responses and insisted this is how Biryani is prepared for British people. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and shows a clear lack of respect for customers' opinions. The final straw was the way the bill was handled. The bill was thrown onto our table by the , adding insult to injury. This gesture was not only rude but also unprofessional. In summary, Gurkha Lounge has seriously declined in both food quality and customer service. The only value for money was the special butter chicken dish & also the staff member in the white shirt (owner) was the only professional person. Sorry don’t know your name! The argumentative staff, reduced portion sizes, flavorless biryani, and dismissive attitude towards feedback made for an unpleasant dining experience. Nothing was done to compensate for the poor dining experience. The bill was simply thrown at our table. We were regular customers visiting 2-3 times a month, but unfortunately I don’t think we will be visiting again.

Probably the most consistently good curry I have ever had. Service is always spot on, staff are friendly, restaurant is clean, and food is always excellent, whether it’s eaten in or takeaway. Would happily eat anything off the menu. Side note: can’t include photos as there’s nothing left other than empty containers!

The food is amazing. As a chef of 15 years I can truly say it was so fresh and full of flavour. It's clean the staff are lovely. It is suitable for a family meal or a romantic date. You can park in the car park opposite the restaurant which was ideal with our 8 month old. Overl I love this place. I will be back over and over

Lovely food and amazing staff and customer service

Kris and the team have created a wonderful place to go for a meal. The service is always spot on, warm, friendly and welcoming. The food is out of this world, the quality of the ingredients used, shines through, we’ve genuinely never had a bad meal. The food is always consistently presented with care and thought and the flavours are spectacular. You can really tell that the chefs take care and pride in the food they send out for their customers. Thank you to everyone, looking forward to our next visit already.

Visiting Peterborough and searched for a well rated curry house. Very tasty meal, great options, reasonable prices, very clean, good friendly attentive staff. Would recommend and would come back. Goat curry was very tasty.

When visiting Peterborough I searched curry near me, found on Google with 4.8 stars, headed off to try. Very clean and well presented, friendly attentive staff on arrival, very good food, had the goat curry very nice, great tasting, great flavours. Would recommend and would return.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Gurkha Lounge! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The food was simply outstanding - bursting with authentic Nepali flavors and cooked to perfection. Every dish we tried was a delight, and the service was top-notch. Can't wait to visit again and indulge in more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend!

Pretty good local Curry Restaurant, it has to be, modern smart clean premises must be expensive. Twp of us went through the card and it was just over 60 pounds, including one drink each. Food is massively better than a typical Bengali run Curry House. The nan was particularly good. A squeeze of lemon with the seekh kebab would be nice, some traditional chopped onion with the poppadoms too please. Overall 9 out of ten, not as good as the very best Nepalese food I have eaten, but up there. Charming staff.

The Gurkha Lounge deserves every 5 star review it can get! Wish we could give it more! We have been a few times as a family now, and it never disappoints! The food is top quality and the portion sizes are generous! We absolutely love it here, it certainly won't be our last visit! It's a small thing, but a member of our family had a fall in the car park opposite the Gurkha Lounge after we finished our meal, the waiter who'd been looking after us ran out to make sure everything was OK-above and beyond service, wish we'd got his name so we could thank him properly! We can't wait to go back!

Ot looking to put the Gurkha lounge down but I've been there now 3 times over 3 years and always disappointed. Service is OK. You do have to wave a waiter down and have never been asked if the food was OK during the meal. Only after. Atmosphere needs improvement. Very warm inside and had to ask for the air con to be turned on. I think the table next to us asked for it to be turned off again. Yes hard to please everybody. Perhaps some back ground music would help. Couldn't hear any at least this time. Menu is extensive but choice dosnt mean quality. I am dissatisfied with the taste to be honest. I've had tikka, byriani chicken and lamb. I've had all sorts of starters.... the samosa are the little hard ones you get from the supermarket. I've had tastier uncle Ben's rice to be fair. For me the spice level is very weak. The portions are a little small and to give you an idea of price...... 3 couples with half having starters and all having a simple 2 dish main...with 2 drinks... £300. It's not a traditional Indian / Nepalese it's modern, and by modern, I mean my 3 star is generous. For goodness sake if you have poppadoms then serve onions and pickles with your mint sauce. Not some sweet and sour sauce from a bottle. I've had better in tourist areas of Spain to be honest.

Been using these for a few years now always high-quality food

Have just been in for lunch with my parents. The food was insanely good. The service was fantastic. The venue is lovely. I couldn’t fault a single thing, but really have to say what an incredible venue. We will be back again. Thank you team for a lovely experience.

Our first visit. The Goat curry was delicious, all 7 meals were lovely. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant is lovely and very family friendly. The team made our two grandsons very welcome.

Absolutely loved matka Kulfi and the starters

Delivery service is terrible. we had to wait nearly 2 hours for an order placed online to be delivered. It was barley warm when it arrived, it must have been taken for a drive around Peterborough before arriving. A portion of ontion bhaji's is either very small or you only delivered 1 of the 2 portions I ordered.

This was a takeaway !!! Normally this is one of the best places to eat but the takeaway was poor 😢 so disappointed I didn't eat it all to some it up in 2 words = cold & watery 😪

A nice enough evening, somewhat spoiled by leaving the restaurant to glares from others waiting for our table… If we had been slow in any regard I would have felt badly, but the only thing that was slow was the service. If they want to book tight schedules, then they should maybe make sure they turn around orders more quickly! The food was good, the service was ok, nothing special, and they were cheeky enough to hurry us at the end… Average prices - apparently recently increased. Atmosphere was a bit crowded, and loud, but nice enough.

Food was really tasty but jeez the price of these lamb chops! £6 for 2 tiny chops. Chips were really soggy aswell.

Lovely meal in very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Staff very polite and helpful. I can't believe that living in Hampton for so many years we've never been there before until yesterday. We will definitely be back.

It was our first time visiting and being from an Indian heritage, the food and service was far the best Ive had and was refreshing to enjoy! Nepalese hospitality was 10/10. We opted for Momo's, Chicken Bhutuwa, Goat Special Curry with Roti and Ghurka Naan. All the food was cooked deliciously with so much flavour and not oily/greasy which is common in most Indian restaurants. Staff were ever so friendly and cared- always checking in and happy to take orders for additional drinks. The ambience was lovely and thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Gurkha Lounge and look forward to retuning.

Great food and the staff are really friendly worth a visit

Came here with my partner on a Friday evening. Kris managed to squeeze us in for a 7pm reservation. The place was heaving with a couple of large groups in. The food was excellent, service was good and the atmosphere was vibrant. Prices were good too. Would definitely return here if in the area again.

One off the best meals l have eaten out in a long time

Ordered takeaway for NYE. Had a lamb jalfrezi... apparently. Arrived luke warm, wasn't spicy in the slightest and was very bland. Pretty sure they forgot to complete the dish.

2024 - The staff at Gurkha Lounge are still welcoming us as old friends. The parking is easy with either on road or free car park. Gluten-free is easy here. 2019 - After a busy weekend, we just wanted a quiet meal out, and the staff at the Gurkha Lounge went above and beyond. Two light courses were what we wanted and exactly what we got. Lovely delicate flavours, super friendly service, and a feeling that we were being welcomed back as old friends. Many thanks.

We had a wonderful experience at the Ghurka Lounge on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient. They made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was very fresh and top quality. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and the flavours were authentic, rich, and delicious. The portions were generous and satisfying. We especially loved the chicken tikka and he chiken karahi. We really cannot praise these guys enough. They made our Christmas Eve special and memorable. We highly recommend the Ghurka Lounge to anyone who loves Nepalese and Indian cuisine. We will definitely be back soon.

First time I've been to Gurkha Lounge, and they did not disappoint. It was incredibly busy, and yet the staff didn't hesitate to provide impeccable service throughout . The food was perfect, the flavour was tantalising with every bite with just enough spice to have that kick without losing any taste. I'm looking forward to visiting Gurkha Lounge again in the new year!

Amazing Amazing 👏🏾. Was here for work Xmas Dinner. The food was delicious. My butter chicken was heavenly. Service was very attentive. My salmon tikka was delicious. The plate decor was cute. The nan breads were just perfect. We all ate so much we had to take some food home. Would definitely return.

Delicious food! A nice varied menu, offering some nice alternatives plus a few of the normal crowd pleasers. Possibly the best Peshawari naan I’ve ever had. I would never normally order a fish curry, but after a little persuasion I decided to go for it and I wasn’t disappointed. Packed with flavour, rich enough to feel filling on a cold night but not the over the top richness of a creamy korma, and the fish wasn’t over cooked. So I’m now a convert.

Always use this restaurant for my takeaway, however I finally went for a meal at the restaurant and was so disappointed I could have cried. Horrible waitress made us feel outcasts. I love the food but the English waitress made us feel awful

First time to have dinner here with my family. I heard a lot of positive reviews from other people but I’m gutted I never been here sooner! Very convenient free parking across the restaurant. The place was clean and welcoming. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was very tasty and fairly priced not overinflated. We will return and will recommend to friends and family!

We had a take away for my birthday from here for the first time and we were all very disappointed with the meal it all tasted very bland, lots of watery gravy based type sauces with very little meat or potatoes, l won’t be ordering from here again.

Good welcome from the staff and they got us a table despite losing our booking. We all had nice food, despite most of our dishes looking the same, it tasted a bit 'generic' and overly reliant on the base gravy. This could be all be improved with braver spicing and presentation to give the dishes some individuality.

We usually order food for delivery, and have on occasions eaten in the restaurant. Without doubt, the best curries in Peterborough. Always taste fresh and full of flavour, upon delivery food is always hot and order is correct. We’ve been regulars for years and will continue to be so.

Excellent Nepalese food in a bright, vibrant atmosphere. Great location with plenty of parking and walking options. Food was great and service was exemplary. I tried lamb kidney for the first time it was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend.

Waiters gave us the time to order. Speedy service. Good portion sizes. My friend said it was the best curry she'd had. Thursday night =10% discount...even better (although when busy it is extremely noisy)
