Great restaurant with amazing food and service to match.

First time here. The service was fantastic and food was amazing. I like to dabble in a bit of spice and went for the phal curry and my partner had green curry mutton. The spice level was perfect and the flavour was exceptional, as for my partner, she also thoroughly enjoyed hers. Interior wise the restaurant is lovely and alot of effort has gone into making the atmosphere feel equally good as the food. All in all, I will back again and I highly to anyone that wants all their curry needs satisfied.

Food was great, children had the korma and loved it! Service was patient, staff were friendly and not pressurising. Will come again!

Great Sunday evening meal at The Spice Affair. Came for an early birthday meal for my daughter. Good service and lovely traditional food made to how hot or mild you like it.

No puedo recomendar este restaurante lo suficiente, mi pareja y yo somos de Stamford y viajamos a Peterborough especialmente para ello porque es nuestro restaurante favorito para ir. El personal y tan amable y atento que es agradable ir a un lugar que sabes que tu costumbre es apreciada. No solo eso, sino que la comida es de 1 clase callejera y el estándar siempre es consistente, si no mejor cada vez. El mejor lugar para un curry sin duda!

We always order paneer lababdaar with naans for delivery and it was delictible all the time. But for last two deliveries it was tasteless, no taste at all we were unble to eat it. May the restaurant has changed the chef. Will not order henceforth.

First time trying this restaurant for a takeaway. We spent over £55 for a dinner of two. However once I opened the box of the starter of King Prawn dish I was rather disappointed, it was so little and didn't justify the price of £9.95. The lamb chop starter I got has 3 piece which is a bit better worth than the prawns. The taste of the food generally is not bad but the lamb main dish I had was bland. I don't think I will rush back in the nearest future.

Very good food, amazing service

1498 A Spice Affair is a solid Indian eatery plonked in a quiet neighbourhood - you might want to watch the blink-n-miss entrance if you're locating it on a map. For spice-heads I recommend two dishes. The first is their Xacuti. It is not tagged as spicy in their menu, but like a slow burn thriller, it creeps up almost imperceptibly until the fire can't stay hidden anymore. It was very good. The other dish is their bullet naan, which is no-holds-barred, tearaway spicy. Good food all-round. I usually eat the red chilli (when in a daal tadka) whole, but after going through the Xacuti and the bullet naan, I left the chilli alone, like a batter leaving an outside off-stump ball in cricket.

This is my 2nd visit while on business in the area. The food was cooked to perfection and was just as good as the first visit. It was relatively quiet when I visited so the food was ready super fast, but if you ask they'll give you extra time between courses if required. Bombay Bicycle is a nice IPA (on tap) which I always had at my local curry house untill they stopped stocking it. I love the Spicy Malabar Prawn Alfredo & the Cherry Naan is a nice take on a Peshwari. I'll visit again whenever I'm in Peterborough.

My colleagues from out of town loved this place. They suggested they would visit Peterborough just to eat here.

Faultless food and service. Not your usual run of the mill indian restaurants. Goan curries to savour. Shame I'm not local.

Mi esposa y yo fuimos aquí para nuestra comida del décimo aniversario. Vi este lugar en una visita regular anterior a Peterborough y me intrigó la señalización en la pared. Hice una nota de visita en una ocasión especial. Reservamos una mesa y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Cuando llegamos estaban ocupados, lo que siempre veo como una buena señal. El personal era muy atento y educado. El menú tiene grandes opciones con muchas comidas que no he visto antes. La comida llegó rápidamente y era extremadamente sabroso. El precio general está en línea con los restaurantes de este estilo por lo que no diría caro en absoluto. En resumen, una gran experiencia y sin duda será volver a visitar para probar más de los platos.

Great food interesting menu some vegan and lots of vegetarian options. Was a nice space, service good little bit noisy on a Friday night. We enjoyed our reunion meal.

When here last Saturday. Amazing food. Had to wait a little bit but it was worth it. Had the chicken biryani for main and it was unlike any biryani I had before. I'm still thinking about it.

Absolutely fantastic food was delicious service fab lovely atmosphere drinks a little on the expensive side though but thoroughly enjoyed our meal will definitely go again on our next visit

An unexpected find... a Sunday night star! Brilliant choice. A Wednesday and Sunday discount meal and wonderful service. Nearly didn't go as the lowest spice rating is 'medium' and I was worried it'd be too spicy but there was no need to worry. 'Medium' was seasoned, flavoursome, slightly spicy but not too much! Food tasted amazing and the portion sizes were great. We were on our way to Camridgeshire from Scotland, but we will be making sure we pass this way again. Highly recommend.

Great meal, the pork vindaloo was fiery. Portions and quality were excellent and the service great.

Lovely set menue on a Wednesday and Sunday. Very good food and service. The place was very full so took a little time with food but it wasn't an issue.

Was a great start, table for 10, and the food was good. I booked the table last week, but when we went to order dessert and coffee, we were told the next people were waiting, so they refused us.

We’ve been enjoying food here for a number of years and have enjoyed spending evenings here as a couple as well as with friends and family. The service is on point and welcoming. The menu features a large range or Goan and other dishes. I’d highly recommend anyone eat here to try something different. Although you can still order anglicised curry dishes. The food produced really shows the kitchen cares for the quality and depth of flavour to what is served here. One of the best options to eat out in Peterborough.

I have used 1498 The Spice Affair twice now. And on both occasion's ordered a takeaway. The food was hot and fresh and nothing was to much trouble, as they delivered to me. I would recommend this Dine in or Take away. The food was delicious and very Tasty.

Suckered in by the 5 star rating. Ordered a chicken madras and garlic naan. Garlic naan was average and added a star to the review. I can not describe or picture how oily the madras was! After a few mouthfuls I felt it was just oil in my mouth and had to stop eating. Maybe I got them on a bad evening but I will never be ordering from here again.

Bueno, fue una sorpresa... en el buen sentido. Había oído hablar de este restaurante de amigos y aunque hemos sido leales a otro restaurante de estilo indio muy conocido durante más de 30 años, le dio una oportunidad, teniendo expectativas limitadas. Personal amable, servicio rápido, menú interesante con “grapas” y artículos variados (cangrejo por ejemplo). La comida tenía un sabor excelente y generoso. Limpio y agradable comedor con una cocina abierta. Precio justo. ¿Qué no te gusta?

First time here for me (second for husband who'd been before with a work group). Lovely place! It looks so cosy and welcoming from the outside. As we walked in I thought how smart if looked. Large-ish bar area if you're early - which we were. However we were seated straight away. We're both vegan and there were some tasty options. I cannot recommend highly enough the Aloo Chat Martini starter. I did not want it to end. I had the vegetable Xacuti with mushroom rice for a main. This was also delicious. Portion sizes I feel are generous and prices absolutely reasonable in this day & age especially for such quality food. Oh I should also mention the poppadums are different to what I've had before anywhere else....in a really really good way! Chunkier and so moreish. The restaurant is quite big really but it had a great atmosphere tonight and even with a large group in attendance the service was impeccable. I'd absolutely love to go back soon. If you're thinking about it, just book and go!

This place was the best indian restaurant i have ever been to. I had a three course meal starting with the Garlic Prawns which were incredible, Chicken Jalferezi with rice and naan which had just the right balance of spice and flavour. The naan was so soft and was perfectly made. The malteaser cheesecake melted perfectly when eaten. The staff were welcoming and very nice.

Wow. The food and service in this restaurant is top notch. I had the lamb chops to start and the chef kindly made me a chicken lababdar which was delicious, as were the sides. Great choice of beers on tap and the staff were excellent. 5 stars!

I just wanted to share my recent experience at 1498 The Spice Affair restaurant that was absolutely incredible! The food was the best Indian cuisine I've ever had, full of authentic flavors and spices. As a bonus, they also offered a free bottle of beer, which made the experience even better! I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. Also the staff are very friendly. Well done guys
