Just had a take away. We have been having takeaways from here for some time. Neverhad anissue until today. Food was cold. Keema nan had little meat. Mixed grill portion size has change.only I chicken 1 lamb , this used to be two. Which used to fill the tubs. Which now look empty. The sauce tub was below haf full. Now looking for a new

Based on many previous orders, it seems like completely different restaurant. Missed rice from order. Chicken dry. Onion bhaji seems like microwaved. Naan bread reheated.

I've only been once so far but we are already planning a return visit. Super friendly staff who really go out of their way to give a great dining experience and Ish, the owner is a character, within minutes you feel you've been friends for life! The food is superb, the atmosphere is great and the service is perfect. All that and it's reasonably priced too.

Best madras I’ve had fast delivery

Hi.. sadly I need to do a review.. our first visit to the Gurka was a pleasant evening, however on the second visit ..well talk about night and day….. was a disaster from start too finish 🙃 the starter was poor…main course was well below par ..service was very hit and miss…a lot of shouting by the owner which was directed at the kitchen staff..a complete waste of our evening and left with a bitter taste in our mouth .. £78 lighter,…how could they get it so wrong….😑

The food here is really amazing. I have been to this place a couple of times now, and I have never been disappointed. Friendly staff and not a ltoo long wait for food. The only downside is that the carpark is very small. But the food and service easily count this out.

Food tasted absolutely amazing as always, great service and hospitality. Was even given free poppadoms. Me and my 2 friends visited and all had the same meal, apart from our one friend who had steamed rice. Me and my friend are okay but our other friend who had the different rice has had extreme food poisoning and has become very unwell. We are very worried about her and it’s really close to Christmas It’s such a shame because this place is amazing but we will be being cautious with going in the future.

We have regularly eaten here as a couple and for family get togethers, we have also had numerous takeaways. Ish, his family and staff are very professional, accommodating and helpful. The service is fantastic and the food is authentic and cooked to perfection with a varied choice on the menu. The locality is a great bonus to us, and i would fully recommend Gurkha as a place for all occasions.

I’m well never experienced stale popadoms before samosa was it from Iceland ? 7 normal over cooked prawns in the main what a total waste of money doing my wife beans on toast as she took one taste of her food and went no . Seriously how can you serve that and expect repeat business

Hands down the best Indian/Nepalese/curry house in the area. We’ve tried all the others just to make sure and it’s not even a close contest. If you haven’t ordered from Gurkha Chulo yet and you’re reading this, just do it. It’s faultless. Genuinely top quality food, always comes earlier than stated and great customer service, both from the delivery drivers and from the restaurant (reading & honouring order notes/requests). Good choice of dishes and friendly helpful staff. We went as a couple on Saturday night and our waiter could not have been more helpful, probably needed some help as he never stopped all night.

First time here, We were driving home and decided to pick up a takeaway. I was given a free drink while I was ordering. Atmosphere was nice and lovely people. Food was absolutely delicious, everything fresh and so tasty. We are booking a table and bringing friends next week! Highly recommend

Tonight was the 2nd time dining here and without a doubt the service and food are out of this world. The owners are the ultimate hosts,very entertaining, attentive to everything youll need to enjoy the evening. Their staff are so polite and 100 percent on the ball. Couldn't fault it x it arrived on time and was delicious. Coconut rice is perfect as is the chillie and cheese naan.I had a honey and chillie chicken dish and although it was slightly too spicy for me it was delicious. Can't wait to get friends and family round and order a whole load of dishes x

Came here on a Sunday night based purely on the reviews. Premises are an old pub converted into a restaurant. Situated on a main road (B600) with a large car park at the rear. Friendly welcome which was quickly followed by poppadoms and dips. After ordering our starters and drinks came quite quickly. Main courses of a chicken madras and a mixed grill followed. The restaurant is nicely done out with modern fixtures and fittings. Only downside was that my chicken madras had too much tomato in the sauce, but that is down to how the chef learnt to make them. Otherwise all good. Would definitely come again.

Just had a takeaway, the owner asked if was OK to chose for me...and what more can I say...absolutely superb loved it...you need to go and try for yourselves....see you soon..

We visited Gurkha Chulo for a birthday treat. The meal was delicious and the staff very friendly. We were given our table for the night and was not rushed. Authentic music played in the background. I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. It was fabulous

The food was so delicious and fresh, the chicken was succulent and the naan bread was perfect. Lovely staff and atmosphere was just what we needed. We will definitely be returning as there are lots more dishes we would like to try.

Chicken saag didn’t contain spinach( from what I could see and was over powered by cream, I personally couldn’t eat it which was shame as it’s normally my fav Indian meal. Chips were white floppy and Luke warm. Lamb Balti was nice but for £12 for the curry alone I expect more than a couple of pieces of lamb. Wasn’t the worse I have had but wouldn’t order again as most got wasted due to it not being very nice.

First time at Gurkha Chulo and it certainly won't be the last. The food was outstanding, we couldn't fault anything, really tasty and full of flavour. The service was amazing and the staff were all really friendly. Would highly recommend anyone who likes quality Nepalese or Indian food to try Gurkha Chulo. It's not a standard run of the mill Indian restaurant. It is much much more.

Decided to try this restaurant out based on the reviews. I'm happy to say that the reviews were absolutely spot on. The staff are extremely helpful and always checking in to make sure you are happy. The quality and presentation of the food were exceptional, and the range of dishes available is quite impressive. I decided to try something different from what I would normally go for off the chefs special menu and was glad I did. Prices are very reasonable. Both my sons, who are 19 and 15, loved it and want to know when we are going back again. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back sooner rather than later (only a 5 mins drive from me, so may check out the takeaway option as well)
