Visited on a Friday afternoon for a meal with two wheelchair users. Disabled carparking spaces were great, access into into building was fine but was disappointed that the tables set up for lunch time service near the bar were not accesible as they required either a step up or step down to access with no ramp section available. I asked a member of staff behind the bar if there were any accesible tables and after speaking to their manager they offered to seat us at one of the two available coffe tables surrounded by settees. Obviously these tables would not be suitable to have a meal at reasonably and I asked again if we could instead be seated at a table in a section of the pub which did not appear to be in use (i.e. no one sat at the tables but doors to that section were open and the tables partially laid). After checking again with management they agreed to seat us at one of these tables and quickly brought over cutlery and menus. The room we were in was set to the side and so we could not see any of the main part of the pub and basically had an empty restuarant to ourselves. We were grateful that they were able to accomodate us but it was a disappointment that we ate in a quiet, out of the way part as the main section was not fuly accessible. Even the bar had a step up so even if we were not going in for food it wouldn't really have been suitable. The food was nice and the pricing very reasonable. The pub was set in a nice location and the surrounding area was lovely. The disabled toilet was locked and we were unable to use it. One wheelchair user who had some mobility had to walk to one of the other toilets on the other side of the bar, which was difficult for them, and the toilet was not particularly clean. The waitress who served us was a newstarter and did a good job accomodating for us as best as she could.

24 of us went for a Sunday lunch on 18 August 2024. We had four waiters/waitresses serving us so the meals were all delivered quickly while still hot. Because we had decided what we wanted to eat a week or two beforehand, the staff had thoughtfully provided place labels on one of the tables with our requirements on them (a very nice touch because I had forgotten what I had ordered - as had others). We picked up our "name tags" and chose where we wanted to sit and who with. All-in-all a very pleasant afternoon that we all enjoyed. Gupshill Manor was built in 1438 and is close to (if not actually part of) Tewkesbury's "Bloody Meadow". So, anyone residing there in 1471 would have had a good view of the battle of Tewkesbury during the "Wars of the Roses" between two English royal houses who both claimed the Throne of England - the Yorkists (white rose) and the Lancastrians (red rose). And that, boys and girls, is why the English Rose icon has a white centre held in place by a red outer i.e. the Lancastrians eventually won when Henry Tudor (Henry VII) beat Richard III at the battle of Bosworth in 1485. Henry Tudor then united both houses by marrying Elizabeth of York.

Quite noisy especially outside. A couple of women with about 6 children, one of whom was just shouting repeatedly. Food very average. Mackerel wrap. Salad accompaniment was just some very tough lettuce rather dried up! Citrus dressing non existent. Noted this to staff when paying the bill but no recompense offered. Coffee was poor.

This one was a travel stop off, two adults, 10 year old daughter and our cockapoo. Very dog friendly, Bruno was even offered a couple of treats. Place was quiet as we got there mid afternoon after a walk around nearby Tewkesbury but very happy to look after us and the food was very good, excellent mix of shared starters and mains including non alcoholic beers. Special mention for the guy behind the bar (sorry didn’t get your name but great to chat with you and thanks for taking an interest on my Thai t shirt). In summary, highly recommended.

I had a tandoori wrap from the lunch menu, costing £8.99. It was poor, a cold wrap, small quantity of chicken, salad mostly lettuce with no dressing, and a few chips. Unpleasant and overpriced. The building and gardens are wonderful but I certainly won't be eating there again.

We, as a family, were at Gupshill Manor to celebrate what would have been my father-in-law's 100th birthday and to remember his life and achievements. The dining room was for our use only and proved the perfect size. It's proximity to the gardens and courtyards was perfect. The buffet that was supplied consisted of so many items including various salads, cold meats, chicken skewers, lamb kebabs, quiche etc etc. Also present were vegetarian and vegan guests - the latter of which were highly impressed with their buffet The service was first class from drinks upon arrival to even foil wrapping any foodstuffs or cake that guests wanted to take home. The buffet was continually refreshed and tables cleared by extremely polite and courteous staff.

Don't waste your money! We had a couple of wraps with chips and side salad. £8.95 and it wasn't good. About half a dozen oven type chips and a tasteless wrap! My son had the ploughman's which was a bit better (£12.95) but we had to send it back because...you'll like this...they'd sent it out without the cheese! So including a round of drinks £45 all in and we were less than impressed. And the place is falling down. When sat in the garden, you can see the top/attic window pane is missing and a piece of board stuck over the top. The tiles have slipped in quite a few places including the bottom left, particularly where the gutter is and it's hanging on for grime death. The planters are rotten and half filled with old, dying plants. Peeling paint, outside benches are in desperate need of some stain, etc! It's turned into a typical Green King pub when it used to be the place to be! I'd avoid if I were you..

The portions were epic and the quality of the food delicious, the waiter Terry and waitress Beth were polite and well humoured and went the extra mile to serve us. Shocking experience at Gupshill today. Service was not great, waiter rather rude and came up with excuses to why my waffle was frozen solid, instead of accepting it and apologising. Had to wait 15 minutes for our table? The waiter, (we had two, at least the first one was decent and polite), then apologised and told us we could take a seat and took it upon himself to give us some sort of good service. The chicken salad wasn’t the best, chicken was dry and unpleasant, not enough dressing on the salad itself. Did not finish. Drinks were good, regularly offered more drinks. Desserts were not good, 2 brownies were actually decently nice, Roulade was nice, and so was the ice cream. Waffle was disgraceful, ‘fruit’ seemed to be frozen forest fruit mix, waffle rock solid, probably frozen and barely warmed up in the microwave. Our second waiter, told us that ‘it’s rock solid because you probably ate the brownie first and ice cream made it like that’. Any one knows ice cream makes it soggy, not rock solid, like come on. Had to make it clear we were not paying for a frozen waffle, and he eventually said okay, and we think he took it off our bill. Took a surprisingly long time for food to come out, especially as we were the only family there and a couple people at the bar. Music was unpleasantly loud throughout the establishment. Overall, not a good experience at all and will not be coming back, and I do not recommend anyone to make the same mistake as I did of coming.

Made our own atmosphere as we was with family who had travelled from Cornwall. Food was not the best and even though they had questions why a meal had not been eaten didn't reduce the bill. I had risotto and to be honest I could have cooked better myself. Such a shame as at one time is was such a nice place to eat. Expensive evening out for food which was not up to scratch, therefore would advise people to avoid.

First review I have ever posted but felt so let down by the meal I have just had I felt compelled. So firstly the service wasn't amazing. Staff looked abit scruffy in leggings or wearing worn out old trainers. Had to ask for menus. Food took a while to be served and was very poor value for money. For starters we had a sharing platter which consisted of about 3 or 4 slices of bread with a tiny ramekin of olives and another of green pesto?! It cost £9!!! When mains came we were asked if we wanted any sauces, we did, they never arrived so we then had to que at the bar to ask for them once more. My main of gammon, chips, egg and peas came to £15.95 and was bang average. It also only had 1 egg for that price!! Come on. Do better. I understand that running costs etc are crazy but this just shows such poor value for money. I would never go back again and would tell others never to go. It's such a shame as I only live around the corner and it's a beautiful piece of Tewkesburys history. I hope they can take note and change but looking at the other reviews I doubt it.

Sad to post a negative review My mum, myself and our friend went out for a meal to catch up and decided to go to the Gupshill Manor as have had nice meals there in the past. We ordered our drinks and then the waitress came back to take our food order. We all picked the same meal - pan fried chicken breast with green beans, dauphinoise potatoes and black pepper sauce. I don't like green beans so asked if I could have carrots instead. The waitress was lovely and said that was fine. The meals were £15 each This was our first mistake. The food then came, not long after ordering but no drinks had arrived.... looking at the plates of food, very confused.. I don't know where these chickens came from but there would have been more meat on a pigeon breast than on our plates, plus also had a shoulder/boned part also... the meat was just two very small slices, about the size of a tipp-ex mouse. Totally non existant presentation... just thrown on the plate. My young nieces could have plated it up better. Finally, when the drinks arrived, I asked the waitress if we had the correct meals as we all had boned parts as well as very small slices of chicken. She went off to speak to the chef but as we were all hungry my companions started eating their food. The waitress came back and said yes this is what we have ordered and the boney but is part of the chicken breast..... hmmmm. She did offer to swap my meal but I was hungry so said it was ok. To be fair, it tasted nice but the carrots were past their best. The dauphinoise were ok but again, small portion. The waitress came back to take our plates and we chose our puddings. Two of us had the waffles and one had the brownie. Second mistake. The waffles were lovely, but the brownie, nice though it was, half way through eating it my friend found some plastic wrapping in it and then in her penultimate mouthfuls... yes another piece of plastic wrapping... we called the waitress over again and showed her the plastic.. she was very apologetic and went off to speak to the chef again.... 5 minutes later she came back with another apology and offered to take the brownie off the bill which we accepted. A waiter then came over and asked us if we wanted tea or coffee but as two out of three of us had a bad experience my mum wasn't willing to take the risk of a third mistake so we paid the bill and went home.. The waitress couldn't have been nicer but we will not be going back anytime soon and will be telling all our friends all about what a bad experience we had.. Poor show Gupshill... for a nice place to go that meal really wasn't great, would have had a better plate of food in Wetherspoons(no offence meant) for half the price. Perhaps a training session on presentation and serving a entire chicken breast to customers who are paying £15 for it would be an idea..

Called in on the off chance for lunch, as my wife and I were just out for a drive. Were made very welcome and we were allowed to bring our dog in with us. We thought that it was part of a pub chain, however, it was privately owned and what a difference. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, good food, good service not a lot more that you want for a relaxing unhurried lunch. We'll done to all.

Popped in for a pint and a bowl of chips. Nice place with lovely, friendly staff. Dog friendly too. Rated it based on what we had, so don't take this as an indication of the general quality of their meals. Would definitely return.

Don’t waste your time. Order placed online. Order accepted and verified. 10 minutes after delivery was due, they call me to say they don’t deliver to my address. Even though they have done so several times in the past. Pathetic establishment.
