Went with four other couples. Everyone loved it. Great service, tasty food and fantastic prices, all good a very enjoyable evening.

Amazing family owned Turkish restaurant. Experts in charcoal cooking. Meat is cooked to perfection. I don't know anywhere better in the UK. Well done to them!

Lovely people, great food & quality atmosphere.

We went on a Tuesday & it was still quite busy. The venue looked lovely inside, though the inside looked small it was spacious. The food was great, well seasoned & hot in temperature. It did take a while for us to be served but I think it was mainly due to some of us not arriving on time! They didn't hound us about ordering or asking if everyone had arrived. The customer service was good, professional & relaxed. I would definitely go again

We booked for Valentines Day & opted for £70 per head set meal & paid £40 deposit. We were told that the restaurant would be decorated with a singer and a bottle of champagne & a pamper bag and a rose. We got seated and we noticed that our table was not decorated ie with Hearts, Candle or heart sweets. The waitress came round and ask us what did we want to drink we explained that we were having the Champagne package after waiting for what seemed like ages were presented with our champagne. She came back after about 15 minutes to take our order, we then had to wait ages for our meal as all around us people who had ordered long after us were getting their meals - which was not good service by my account. Also you were too packed in like sardines. We were presented with the bill which was for £140 they had forgot to take off our deposit £40 - it was lucky I noticed before my husband paid the bill. The only good thing about this Valentines Day was the singer and food. They fell short on the service, pampering bag and no decorated table, we would have been better with the £45 set meal & just ordered a bottle of nice wine - very very disappointed. I did mention to the Manager about lack of things I was promised when I booked & he then gave me handfuls of heart sweets & 3 extra roses - which I think did not compensate for the things we did not get.

I dined here with my family for a celebration and it wasn’t a very nice experience. Before we even sat down we was asked to order drinks and hadn’t even had time to look in the menu, the small old man, I presume he is the owner, was very snarky and quite rude to us. The food was mediocre, not cooked to how we had asked and wrong orders sent and messed up! We also was told to leave our table before we had even ordered desserts! We didn’t have any sauces and had to keep asking for them. No bread is served as a welcome dish nor with the starters! The service from the waitress was poor as she seemed very arrogant just like the small old man. It wasn’t a nice atmosphere for me and my family during our celebration and the staff doesn’t go out of their way for you…… the food wasn’t great and the drinks were poor.

Been eating in Gulens for over 20 years and there is not a time where the staff or food have never ceased to be 100% fantastic, great family atmosphere and you are always looked after and welcomed. I can not ever believe that anyone could ever have a bad word to say about Gulens

First time here absolutely lovely place the decor is lovely nice soft music playing welcoming staff owners are really nice guy we had a waitress that was on her first night and she did really well food was so yummy definitely we will be back thanks guys

Food was unreal , top quality never disappointed with gulens

Such a great little restaurant. Food quality is high. Meat quality is very good. Presentation of food is good. Menu is on the higher priced side for Turkish dine in, however the quality of the meat is completely reflective of this and therefore the cost matches what is served. Service is standard. Restaurant decor is traditional and warm/cosy. Overall a great place and would certainly recommend.

Went to Gulens last night for a friends birthday. It was a party of 8 people. Couldn’t recommend Gulens enough. The food was excellent with great sized portions. Very good prices too considering the quality and the location. The service was excellent, all the servers did everything with a smile and seemed to enjoy being there. If you’re looking for a good Turkish restaurant, definitely definitely go to Gulens.

Small portion and expensive for a Turkish restaurant but I guess that's because Welling hasn't much variety. You leave still being hungry. I had just finished my food and after 5/10 min I was asked to leave because table was booked. They should have told me as soon as I came in so I could decide to stay or not. I didn't fully enjoy the experience because I was there to eat and relax but I didn't relax unfortunately.

Abysmal and pathetic. Couldn’t follow simple instructions. Lamb shawarma had more fat in it than it did meat and is nothing you would see in authentic shawarmas. Breads were missing and they gave me one sauce for a £30 meal. No rice nor chips in the meal which is standard across all Turkish restaurants in London. Don’t mind paying for quality food but the quality of the service you provide ruins the whole experience. I am a regular customer but this will be my last order. Wouldn’t recommend.

A really pleasant evening. Food was great and so was the service.

We ordered a takeaway to collect. The timing was spot on, and we collected in the time they advised. We ordered chicken shish kebabs and chips. The presentation of the kebab was nice, salad was fresh, but felt the chicken was lacking in flavour. I’m not sure what it was but we felt like something was missing. I can’t work out whether it was the separation of the salad to the meat, as the meat was on its own in the pitta with the salad on the side, it just felt a little dry I guess. The chips were steak cut, not my favourite, but tasty. The prices are reasonable also.

Amazing food really friendly, helpful staff and great prices

This place definitely offers friendly service from the moment you enter until you leave. Everyone does their job very well. Endless thanks to all the employees. And all the food and drinks are great, they do their best to make sure everything is hot and fresh.

Great 1st visit, lovely food, very friendly staff will definitely be eating there again, if you want to visit on a weekend make sure you book a table as it gets full very quickly its that good.

First time visiting and really enjoyed it. The place was packed but it didn’t feel cramped. Nicely decorated interior, very friendly and welcoming staff (one of the best parts) and the food was excellent. The chicken wings and calamari were especially good but all of it was excellent. Normally go for our take aways but decided to eat in. Was not disappointed. Nice restaurant and staff. Very tasty, good value food. Best to book ahead as very busy.

I love these guys and I am happy to give them my money. Fab tasty food and lovely banter. You can even have a lovely cold draught beer in a bottle while you wait. Doesn't get any better than that.

Always a pleasure to dine at gulens! love the revamp with the outside terrace, new menu additions food and drink, and the automatic roof. There was a new face there young male with cornrows, great customer service very attentive to our needs. See you again soon.

Courier had forgotten some of the items, but the restaurant were so quick to sort this out and had contacted me before the food had even arrived! Genuinely amazing service, and amazing food!

Dunno what’s happened with gulens … didn’t get half of my order no drinks that I ordered I got meat in a bit of bread no salad proper gone downhill on service won’t be ordering again

Lovely family run business! The owner is so nice and so is the staff. Amazing food and amazing service!! Didn’t get a picture of the food but we got a mixed share platter and it was so good great value for money.

Have always told people Gulens is the best for miles, quality, quantity and value for money. Well the last couple of times none of that applied. The quantity was absolutely disgraceful, our meals were like child's portions. The quality wasn't very good and now so overpriced. We won't be going back again. We now know why it's always empty.

Food was great. Service a little slow

First time I ate here the food was spot on but after returning I gave to say the price for the quantity is disappointing, the taste was good but not amazing to be so expensive for such small portions. We had 2 olives on the plate with our sucuk and the smallest plate of Cacik I’ve ever seen it usually lasts us into our main meal but gone in 4 bites. I have also never paid £12.50 for a child’s meal when it’s one course before! The didn’t give a child’s menu so didn’t know price until bill came. There was no complimentary bread or anything, no pitta or flatbread with my shish main, order was wrong when I requested no chopped up salad and just lacking any friendliness and attentiveness from staff. It needs to be a restaurant or a takeaway not both. I don’t like that so much has been crammed in a small space leaving it with one female toilet either. Music was also jarring, just because you do love music doesn’t mean you should lose your focus on the music when there is no entertainment. Will most likely not retry again in future now.

Not your average kebab experience! ⭐⭐⭐ Insanely Delicious+++ meats/meze, classy ambience, live music 🎙️🎶 I had a great experience dining at Gulen's (or Gulen Ocakbasi) in Welling, London last Saturday. The food was prepared to perfection. I've been spoiled with delicious food all my life but this was next level!! I had different Mediterranean flavors (#meze) and kebab platter. Both were exceptionally tasty. I saw where they prepare and cook on coal fire. I think this contributes to taste but still the texture, the juiciness, the taste... try it yourself! 🥩🍖🥗 Also there was live music and the singer was great. She was very entertaining with a great voice. 🎙️ Ambience was happy and classy, lighting was perfect, I will certainly take my friends and family there as I already miss the food in just a couple of days! If going on Friday/Saturday dinner time, don't forget to make a reservation. I imagine lunch times should be less tricky.

I loved Gulens before they refurbished, now I really don’t know what happened. Shakshouka was old and sour, the koufta was tasteless and more of hotdog than a koufta kebabs, chicken wings were just as bad. I’ll give it a chance one more time in case they had a bad day on that day but if it’s a same I will not be back

Well done.... Got introduced to this kebab shop by some friends on Christmas outing last year :-) Don't judge a book by it's cover! It's actually a Turkish themed restaurant. Ambient, service with a smile and above all else excellent food. Went at weekend with wife, we reckon it knocks out all other Turkish restuarants in area.

Hardly any chicken! Doesn't say if it comes with salad etc. So bought extra! No sauce. Luke warm. Really disappointed after charging me £18!

Did'nt follow the request regarding the salads to be added to the kebab i.e. one kebab with salad with chilli sauce and the other with burger sauce. One kebab had three pieces of chicken in it and not much more in the other one. The food tastes nice but not worth the cost in terms of value.

10/10 every time. Best kebab in south east by far.
