Grumpy's Bar & Wood Fired Pizza in Leeds

First time here. Very popular with the local folk. Will go back and visit again maybe on an evening next time.

Saturday afternoon, great experience at Grumpy's Bar, the Pizzas were delicious, chose 2 Marge Pizza with 3 extra toppings each different but wow they were good.... Star of the main course though was the mini roast potatoes with smoked mozzarella... they go so well with Pizza, it was fantastic. Ended with 2 x Home made Tiramisu's for dessert.. Mmm mmm mmm delicious.... Staff were so nice, so friendly welcoming and very attentive. Definitely worth a try....

Cosy seating area with a good vibe. Food was incredible and the service to match. Super fresh and you can see them cooking in the pizza oven - an absolute MUST TRY place.

Amazing atmosphere and cocktails.

I was a little sceptical about some of the pizza flavours, but they turned out to be delicious. I ordered to pick up and the restaurant was full of people when I got there. There was a warm, cosy, happy vibe in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is in one of the mill buildings in the larger complex. Just as a side note, this is the same mill complex where the BBC's Great British Sewing Bee is filmed. Despite being super busy, the staff at front of house were engaging, friendly and efficient. You can see the staff hand-making all the pizzas and the wood fired oven is on show for all to see. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, great cocktails and good team. They were rushed off their feet but nothing took long and nothing wad too much trouble. We will be back - the harissa garlic bread was the thing of dreams!

Great pizzas, friendly service, its frenetic and noisy .. which is fun, great for friends and family, very good value.

Ive visited a few times and decided to treat my parents as there was 25% off this month. So disappointing, our pizza topping was approx third to a half. I would rather have paid in full and received a full pizza. £38 for a very poor lunch.

I was not a pizza person before, after Grumpy's I definitely am!! What a wonderful place! Amazingly creative flavours/toppings on the sumptuous woodfired pizzas!! Lovely staff and great ambience.

Lovely little pizza place, decent prices for such authentic Neopolitan pizza's! Really chill atmosphere, was especially nice visiting closer to the Christmas period to see all the decorations!! All staff were a delight, definitely a favourite local spot that we will revisit😊

Delicious pizza, lovely cocktail. Perhaps more staff to deliver faster service, 4 cocktails took a long time to arrive. Also please advise when customers book that they can only keep their table to a certain time, because you need the table for a next sitting/reservation. We were 6 ladies wanting to order more wine and cocktails, but was all of a sudden told the table was needed for the next guests.

I have never, ever been disappointed by Grumpy's (and I've been a LOT). Exquisite pizza (the best in West Yorkshire), exciting special, wonderful options for dietary restrictions, fun events, a relaxed but vivacious atmosphere, helpful staff... It's fantastic.

Soooo good, the flavours were amazing, only thing I would mention the starters were a tad too small for the price you pay, we got baked feta and it came in a small pot and not even full, half of it so that was a bit dissapointing as I know feta doesnt cost that much, also parmigiana the flavours were amazing but again very small portion but apart from that pizza was amazing- just really wow, i would come again but would stick to pizza mainly

I picked up two pizzas tonight. I was acknowledged straight away. The staff seemed friendly. I was a little early but the member of staff went to check in the kitchen if my order was ready. I didn’t mind the wait of 10 min as I was early. Once I had driven home, I noticed that either the pot of dip I had ordered was too big for its purpose or massively under filled.. to my disappointment, it wasn’t the flavour dip I had ordered. This was a chive dip and I had ordered the blue cheese one.. After biting into the pizzas, I just wasn’t very impressed with the blandness of the base and they were under seasoned. I have rated the service as 2 stars as I had minimal interaction as pick up. Atmosphere was very loud ( I understand it’s a Saturday evening and very busy!) Thank you

This is a top place. The pizza is just amazing. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. We got moved when we said we were a little cold next to the door. Every pizza we had was just delicious. We are vegetarian and there was more than enough choice to make us come back again. Top place. Top pizza. Top staff.

A very hip place with a lovely ambience. Able to eat both in and outdoors. We had the Bruch/lunch menu. Reasonable priced too. Pooches were allowed in too. Would recommend you pay it a visit.

Wonderful food. Wonderful people. Wonderful atmosphere. Theuve improved their service a lot of the last few years. If you love pizza, you need to try grumpys.

Ace. Really enjoyed. Friendly service and cool atmosphere. Lots of choice and I was taken aback by the pizza toppings on offer. Loads that I want to try so I'll be back. Had a focaccia to start and that was great. The pizza did not disappoint either. Great selection of drinks too.

Fantastic family friendly pizza place. Very reasonably priced and pizzas are wood fired in the open kitchen. Excellent service, always busy. Make sure you book!

Excellent food, excellent cocktails! No pineapple on pizza option, but the waitress said if I brought my own they'd make it for me! Superb.

Amazing food - the tomato, garlic and harissa bread as a starter was sublime. Fantastic affogato to end. Pizza was delicious. Nothing else to say. X

Busy Saturday lunch and it was heaving at doors open (12 noon). Good mix of people. Food is top notch as is service. Recommend 100%, but book ahead!

Visited for my sons birthday, had Cumberland sausage starter, found it to be tasteless and only rescued by the dips it came with. ordered coco-cola drink which was flat and the waiting staff suggested this was normal?? Although did offer to replace with a different drink and not charge. Pizza was nice which was why we decided to visit as I did remember it being nice on a previous visit. Overall just not wowed this time which it not great considering everything costs more now.

Beautiful food, great atmosphere and amazing service.

This was our first visit to Grumpy's and we loved it. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the staff were really welcoming and our food was excellent. The pizzas all have human names, which raised a smile. I can heartily recommend the Simon! Grumpy's also offers GF pizzas, which was what first attracted us as my wife is gluten free. We'll definitely be back!

Popped in on Thursday and wanted to order a takeaway pizza. Was told not enough dough to make a takeaway. Pizza restaurant and not enough dough !!!!!!! Something wrong there znd it's not the first time that's happened. Someone needs to get a grip so say I and others that have had the same experience. Not good enough

First time visit. Pizza was one of the best pizzas I've ever had out. They would have received 5 stars but we got charged £2 each for swapping an item out on the menu. We asked two separate staff members and they never said there was a charge. If I'd of known, I would of happily eaten the original toppings! I asked about it at the end and there was no debate and had to pay it. Wouldn't stop me returning but something for people to keep in mind. Seems weird because most places are willing to swap items out free of charge. If you're going to allow swapping if items, at least tell people prior to ordering there's a £2 surcharge.

I can only say good things about this place it is truly a lovely place. The food is absolutely lovely, you can taste all of the ingredients which is so nice considering nowadays everything everything tastes the same when you go out. It was such a lovely surprise. I have already been back from my 1st visit, and I do very much plan to keep going back and back. I couldn't recommend this place anymore. It's so worth going. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely experience keep up the lovely work and I will see you again soon

Loved it here Garlic mushrooms for starters was lovely but then I love anything mushrooms I had the sunny pizza which was delish Service was very good and quick....all staff really friendly Will definitely be back

Full restaurant on a saturday night - i appreciate it was busy but felt slightly understaffed for the amount of cover. Food was 10/10 delicious pizza and great choice. Starters were also delish!

Fabulous place. The pizzas were delicious with a really lovely dough base. The staff were helpful, attentive and accommodating.....and even allowed my husband who has a poor appetite due to medication to have a child's portion of an adult pizza! We will be back with our family soon xx

Great pizza and not badly priced for the quality. Couple of draught beers on but a huge list of cans/bottles of craft from the fridges also.. Found the woode. seats a bit uncomfortable but I'm sure we'll be back

Very Friendly service , affordable pizza but most importantly best pizza I've had in a loooong time and probably nothing that compares to it around in the area. Stone oven fired sure makes a difference!

Have been on more than one occasion and had delicious pizza both times. The dough balls are a must. The restaurant isn't massive so would recommend booking online (easy process) if planning to visit during a prime evening time.

Excellent little restaurant, stunning veggie pizza and the best staff that you could hope for. Squeezed us in without a booking despite being incredibly busy and service was brilliant. Not expensive at all especially when you consider the size of the serving and the quality of the food. 11/10!

My grandaughter loves pizza, unfortunately I don't but I had 3 starters, which were amazing, very tasty especially salad with figs!

Went to Grumpy's with friends for pizza, a bottle of red and dessert. The pizzas were all really tasty, though next time I'll probably go vegan as I expected my pizza to only have around a quarter the amount of mozzarella it came with - way too cheesy for me. First World problems. We had cheesecake, tiramisu and GF brownie (blondie) for dessert, which were all delicious. All staff were friendly and attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening 😊

The food and service were amazing! Really happy with the meal. The only issue was that we had booked for a large party and when we arrived we had to wait over half an hour for the rest of our tables to be free as the people before us had gone over the 1.5 hrs allocated. This left 11 of us sat around a table far too small. I appreciate that these things happen but perhaps 1.5 hours isn't long enough to leave in between bookings?

Putd Farsley on the map, food wise, and with good reason. One of the best pizzas I've had in Leeds. My vegan friends love it too as most any pizza has a vegan option and tastes great (I'm told) I would highly recommend

Delicious pizza, great service, child friendly. Can sometimes feel a little cramped when it’s busy, trying to squeeze out to leave but that might be me full of too much pizza!!

Lovely atmosphere, incredible pizza and good service. There was quite a lot of noise initially as there was a rowdy party and an unwell child but that stopped after an hour and then it was really pleasant in there. Very reasonably priced, we’ll definitely be back!

Excellent pizza, friendly efficient staff and a lovely atmosphere

We moved into the area about a year ago and Grumpys was the first place we tried. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here. The pizza is genuinely another level of good and I’ve tried all the spots in the city centre. Staff are genuinely good people too. If it’s ever been busy and we’ve popped in they always do their best to fit you in and if you’ve booked the service is always consistently good. Jack

Had lovely pizzas all very fresh and tasty. The side salads are very large, we ordered 2 but it was too much. Staff are lovely and it gets very busy, but still were helpful.

We went for a quick bite whilst in the area. Really nice inside. It's very rustic which I like. Staff very friendly and efficient and very quick service from order to the sandwiches arriving. The prices are OK. The bacon sandwich was ciabatta bread and crispy streaky bacon. Not to everyone's taste but my wife enjoyed it. I had a bacon and Sausage sandwich which was very tasty. My one minor moan was the music was a tiny bit loud for me . But otherwise very good. Would we visit again.? Yes please.

Amazing food, just small things - the music was too loud to have a conversation, so it felt like everyone was shouting. Was hard to get a waitresses attention, possibly because of the music. Almost got charged for another tables dessert (lucky my better half is one of those who looks at the bill). Seats weren’t the comfiest. But all of this was worth it for how good the food was. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely pizzas, cocktails and the meze starter was great. Potato salad was a bridge too far though! Dog friendly as well and all the staff are very attentive and friendly.

Amazing pizza, super friendly and helpful staff. One of the best gluten free pizza bases I’ve had (and I’ve had a few). Always a varied selection of drinks and new specials rotated regularly. Happy this is my local pizza place, but would definitely recommend even if it’s not on your doorstep!
