We were asked how many adults and children when we walked in (we had pre booked) and were given the children's menus (our children were 13,12 and 11) they ordered the chicken tenders off the menu and got 2 very, very small pieces of chicken and a few fries when we questioned was that it - the guy said the children's menu is for for only up to 5year olds - he clearly saw the family group as showed us to our table and there was no mention of ages on the kids menu. So very disappointed with their meals. My fishcake starter was over cooked and hard to cut through plus lukewarm. The pie and lasagne looked great and plenty of it , the bacon and cheese burgers were quite small and the bread was too toasted. Michelle who served us was absolutely great, very attentive and helpful. Overall it was OK but did feel cheated with the children's food and it should be stressed about ages if this is correct or mention the portion is very small.

We were regular customers (once a week) over the last year. Due to circumstances we would never know until short notice and would call for food which ever early evening time we was passing. We have now been turned away for a third time, as they only had two chefs in and we hadn’t booked and they were busy. (about 15-20% full). I think they should remove the “welcome” sign from outside, We will be looking for an alternative venue from now on.

The restaurant is really lovely very warm and welcoming. We stayed at their own campsite which is small, perfect for us and the bathrooms are spotless. Only one thing which could be better was the barrier situation. Every time you wanted to enter or leave a member of staff had to come out and lift the barrier. Maybe a visitor code would be more efficient ! This is in use on many other sites and works perfectly fine. Must be frustrating for staff to come out in the rain each time.

Typical chain pub fare - mediocre. Pity because the ambience was good. All four of us were in agreement and we each had a different meal.

We celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and the environment is warm, friendly and full of cheerfulness. Our needs were taken care of from the minute we booked right through to the day after! Our daughter and friends stayed in the hotel and they said it was perfect, we joined them for breakfast the next morning and Tom explained everything to us and made sure we were happy with our food etc Special thanks to James, Julie, Michelle and the rest of the team for making our daughters 21st fabulous…Especially joining in with the birthday song! . Will we be back? Of course we will!

A cozy place to eat with the family. We were served by Chloe that seemed to go above and beyond to make sure our visit was unforgettable. The food selection was plentiful and the meal I had (the mixed grill) was exquisite. Already eager to return.

Very relaxed and comfortable place for lunch. The fish and chips were magnificent with wonderful golden crunchy batter. We stopped for a leisurely drink and a chat and were made very welcome.

We have recently visited this lovely establishment, it is absolutely wonderful. We were served by a woman named Chloe and she was extremely good, very attentive kind and overall a lovely woman to speak too. She recommended a few items off the menu which were gorgeous. Myself and my friends will most definitely be making a trip back out there as we do not live local but it is worth it

Annual wedding anniversary trip - a great location, and clearly, there's been major investment on the interior. It's a shame the same investment hasn't been made to the caravan site, which is scruffy, a little dirty, and in real need of refurbishment. In general terms the staff were great apart from the girl that checked us in - I requested a pitch closer to the shower block, only to be told that the site was fully booked - the site clearly wasn't fully booked all weekend, and our request could easily have been granted - poor and unacomodating customer service skills. A real shame as our stay was otherwise brilliant, having great walks to Chatsworth and Bakewell, and having a pub/restaurant on site is great.

Tony was most helpful and professional this morning. Served a hot tasty breakfast. Most welcome as the night before we had a poor evening meal so this complimentary breakfast was most appropriated. Sam the assistant manager last night was also attentive and organised this welcome surprise this morning. Thank you for doing your best to make up for last night’s meal.
