Groove Pad Bar & Kitchen in Bradford

Disappointed! Went for the clairvoyant on Wednesday. £20 x 2 which was fine (i thought) only to find out others didn’t have a ticket as a drunk woman at the bar downstairs (partner of an employee) told them they didn’t need a ticket And they got in! No one was checking tickets at the door! I had mine at the ready on my phone and some people had gone to the trouble of printing them off! Tickets said door open 6.30 but it opened at 7.15 so a lot of hanging around waiting. There was another bar so i went in there. I asked for a white wine and soda. He couldn’t find any and ran upstairs to the other bar to inform me they didn’t have any white wine! They had one bottle of lime and the staff ran up and down stairs between the two bars it was a shambles and when same drunk women kicked off later which ruined the night, she was also talking and laughing all the way through and the bar kept serving her drinks! Poor clairvoyant tried his best but it must have been so distracting! Me and some others walked out as the staff just watched her like it was part of the show! Dreadful! Don’t know what happened as I left the embarrassing scene! Next time get door staff!

Went here for a friend's hen do. Bottomless brunch. 3 times I'd asked for my first drink while others were getting a 3rd...completely unorganised and not very welcoming at all. 1.5 hours..I had 3 drinks. They started bring food out an hour into it and we still all hadn't had after 1 hour 45 minutes..plus 2 of us were forgotten about so had to request our food even though the order was given a month before? Had a few drinks slammed down on the tables..no service with a smile. Was around 30 of us and I get it may be stressful but come on...organise yourselves..do better!!!

Can't fault food reasonablely price good choice you pay for what you get.. Service excellent however can be slight delay if band or big group event going on

DO NOT BOOK To have a Celebration here you’ll just get ripped off fobbed off then blocked. My friend booked here to book her daughters leaving party and what a absolute shambles of alcohol at the bar had very minimal alcohol ran out of most things and the food was very disappointing for what she paid the chips was still raw the slow cookers wasn’t full to top my husband found a black hair in his pizza 🤢🤮 she well and truly got ROBBED by this place don’t believe the good reviews they have probably asked the staff to do them because of the bad reviews we are all leaving and are trying to make themselves look good. THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR SUCH A POOR SERVICE AND TO TOP IT OFF BLOCK THE PERSON WHO BOOKED IT. THAT JUST SAYS IT ALL REALLY AND JUST PROVES HOW UNPROFESSIONAL YOU ARE !!

Went in there with my mates a couple days back. Lovely service from the staff, all very kind and welcoming. Food came quick and tasted amazing. The music and overall vibe really matched the energy of it all. Will for sure be returning again!

I had my leaving party here a couple of weeks ago (11/05/24) and have delayed my review as we have been waiting on a ‘response’ from the owner on our complaint about the food and drink. We couldn’t actually speak with him in person on the night because he was at a gig… the manager of two bars booked with a 60 person party and a live band on a Saturday night isn’t on site?? Extremely embarrassing management and customer service. We got our response three weeks later, after being consistently ignored!! from the chef and then we were blocked. The reasons for the fridges being completely empty on a Saturday night was that there order didn’t arrive on Thursday? Surely if you knew this, the problem could’ve been rectified on Friday/Saturday by purchasing more stock?! You can see in the photos the fridges are completely empty! And these were just some of the drinks that were unavailable: Black Sambuca Baby Guinness (Baileys & Tia Maria) San Miguel Inches cider Motörhead pale ale Southern comfort Rekorderlig Espresso martini Passionfruit martini Sex on the beach Strawberry daiquiri Dilute juices Soda water And the list goes on… We paid £150 for the room hire, then an additional £300 for food, we were told 30 heads @ £10 each would be more than enough food for 60 people due to the vast amount of food usually provided. It shows up, 4 slow cookers, at best a 1/4 full of food including a pot chips also a 1/4 full! It was literally all gone after 15 people had gone up for food, absolutely shambolic. We complained about this, but nothing could be done as the manager wasn’t there to solve the issue, too busy partying himself!!! We could have done our own spread to feed everyone for a much cheaper price and at a much higher quality!! THIS IS WHY WE ARE BEYOND DISAPPOINTED TO PAY £450 AND NOT RECEIVE AN OUNCE OF EXTRA FOOD, ALCOHOL, A PARTIAL REFUND, OR EVEN COMMON COURTESY FROM THE MANAGER. The hospitality from the owner is one of the poorest I’ve EVER experienced in my 6 years within the industry. If you’re dealing with a major complaint, what makes you think the best idea is to get one of your subsidiaries to respond to lie, backtrack and argue about how much food there was, and then block us!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BOOKING HERE, SCAMMERS!!!

Awful experience and shocking hospitality, DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE!!! This place was booked for my girlfriend’s leaving party, costing £150 for the upstairs room and £300 (£10 per head) for the food, after being reassured that there will be plenty to cater for everyone (approx 60 people). This however was not the case… 4 slow cookers come out less than 1/3 full including pulled pork, in which my dad found a long strand of black hair, beef chilli, Korean chicken and soggy chips. Myself, my parents and a few other people I spoke to didn’t even manage to eat that night due to the inadequate portion sizes. Abysmal catering!!! Unfortunately this wasn’t the only issue we had on the night. Shortly after the party had begun, the drinks disappeared … baby Guinness, jäger bombs, inch’s cider, San Miguel and a plethora of cocktails just to name a few, all sold out within the first few hours, not to mention the empty fridges. Why was this? They were really busy the night before but didn’t have the initiative, organisation or basic common knowledge to prepare for our party the following day. Save yourself from the stress and book elsewhere. OVERPRICED AND UNDERWHELMING DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

Held my daughters leaving party here and what a shambles!! I paid £300 for food and £150 for the upstairs room. Talking with them previously I was told not to cater for all attendees as there would be ‘plenty of food’ but when arrived there were 3 1/4 filled slow cookers, a slow cooker filled with fries and 3 pizzas!! There was £100 worth of food tops!!….then the drinks stopped!! Everything was out of stock and the fridges empty! Their excuse? they were busy the previous night and hadn’t received their order. Here we are 3 weeks later and I have only just received a reply from the chef (not the manager/owner, the chef) after being ignored. the response was filled with blatant lies, backtracks and contradictions. Don’t waste your time or money on this place!

I would give this place 0 stars if I could.. do not book here.. My friend had her going away party at Groove Pad and payed for the £300 food package. Even though they were assured there would be way more food than enough for 30 people but the food we received didn’t even feed 15 people!!!!! The bar ran out of almost every alcohol and couldn’t provide almost half the items on the drinks menu. They have ignored her complaints, blatantly lied to excuse the AWFUL experience, have refused to refund any money, and now have BLOCKED her on social media. DO NOT TRUST THIS VENUE OR ITS OWNERS!!! Worst customer service and venue experience I’ve ever heard of or seen.

Attended a family members leaving party a few weeks ago here. Food was put on, but ran out pretty much straight away, even though the hosts had paid for more. At least we could get a drink though right, wrong! They had sold out of nearly everthing, including mixers. Advertised cocktails, but only had the ingrediants for 1/2. Everything on tap was out except for one lager and the fridges were empty. Wouldn’t recommend taking the risk of booking here, chose a venue that can accommodate its guests.

What can I say? It's a cheeky pad with a bar & kitchen plus the added groove factor! Due to being in charge of operating mechanical machinery in the guise of a car situation, hardly no alcohol consumed! After having a couple of Salts Brewary 0.5% pints, I was pleasantly surprised! I felt like I was involved with the surrounded collective of party goers! The taste was more or less the same crisp palette defining brew you get from the bigger bros on tap, but without the added alcohol content and risk of temptation for more, leading to a stumbled walk home and an unproductive day at work nursing a headache whilst trying to remove the beer carpet grown on your tongue! Although I didn't have the pleasure of tasting the food (which kept passing me by whilst trying to look blokey stood at the bar), it looked really good! It's definitely worth a visit if you fancy a nice selection of local brewery tipples with the added bonus of some handsome looking food to soak up afterwards. All within a live music playing atmosphere with enough space to Dad dance (or any other variation) to your tipsy hearts content!

Great food and excellent live music. The open mic jam sessions every other Wednesday are a lot of fun. The Tuesday board game group, is a great way to spend an evening.

We try to go every Thursday night for the quiz, Lee, the quiz master is top-notch! The Groove pad has lots of varied and diverse bands playing downstairs, and there's also a very eclectic mix of beers on offer!

Great place with the right mixture of people. Music lovers, ale aficionados or people wanting to have a good time all should enjoy it. I certainly did!

Booked for the brunch, told that the gluten free pizza was unavaiale, which left little to nothing to eat! Then was out downstairs, drinks were poor and very slow at coming! Very poor for the money. Waiting 15mins plus a time for drink because had to order then wait for upstairs to make and bring downstairs was not our idea of a brunch. Leaving sober, which never happens at a brunch. Deeply disappointed and won’t ever go again!

I went to visit this venue as a fellow rock n roll lover, danced to a great band and near the end of their set a dark haired bartender refused to serve me as he didn’t like that I was enjoying myself listening to good music and enjoying myself in a lovely music bar, I asked him why I couldn’t have another drink and he said you’re dancing too much and from that I have to say if you’re a fellow rock n roller like myself who loves to dance please avoid this venue as the bar tenders don’t seem to like people having a dance on a weekend to unwind.

I was in Groove Pad last night. The band was great, the staff were friendly, efficient and recommended a really nice lager. The only problem was a guy behaving like an idiot who, as its a medium sized venue, was being a nuisance but the staff noticed and dealt with it quickly without it causing a scene or making it a big issue.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, good select on ohf beers nice and clean with friendly staff too and live music which adds to the general vibe of the place

Called in for a couple on our Christmas drinks Crawl...decent little place, Highley recommend had a decent selection of ales on from what I remember...

A great atmosphere, we came not quite knowing what to expect, Ben the bartender upstairs is awesome, very accommodating, and made us feel super welcome, nothing was too much for him and handled everything in his stride, an amazing person in general, thank you!

A 1st class place to hold a private party. Andy was so helpful from letting me view the venue-opening up for delivery of decorations-and helping me choose buffet options. I felt I got value for money on food and drink I provided. And more important very single 1 of my guests said what a great venue it was.thank you Andy and Maria I would recommend Groove Pad for future party's Paulene Blackburn

Brilliant bar, I keep going with friends for the weekly quiz night they do. Always good fun and a laugh.

First time in here today. Great venue and brilliant play list. Can't wait to see a live band here. Definitely a new haunt for me. Tom is a great host and I recommend a pint of Road Crew. All round good venue and I cant recommend it highly enough.

Great selection of drinks at a fair price, the food is great too, and you can choose your own tunes which is a fab idea..The staff are all very welcoming and friendly . I really like the vibe .The only small negative is that the place is freezing..Would have stayed a lot longer if the place was warm..Everyone was sitting in their out door coats . I will go again as the place has a lot going for it..it just needs to get some heating on .

This place would be alright if you're looking for a pricy boozer but personally that's not my thing. I paid 3.70 for a ginger beer and a pack of nuts, which is a lot of this area. The "vibe" of the place feels fairly fabricated as there are some records on the wall but the place is white with wooden tables, not very scenic. The band had to pay for their own soft drinks, which is unusual. They also made it clear they prefer people loudly screeching over the band to people enjoying the band they put on which to me is a deal breaker. It I can help it I will not be going back. There's plenty of pubs in Shipley that are less pricey and have a much better atmosphere. Most of my reviews are positive but unfortunately not this one. Also not wheelchair accessible as far as I can tell.

Good range of beer and snacks. The 'jukebox' is an excellent addition. It just needs to be a bit busier. Come on, people, get down there and make some atmosphere.

Can only get higher a rating from me having enjoyed Otley Groove pad so so much, love the staff that run there and I know it,s an up and up place to go.
