We visited this restaurant for Valentine’s Day and it was lovely. The staff were so friendly. The steak and chips were delicious. The cheese board was also amazing. One of my new favourite restaurants!

We had a really lovely lunch at Grill yesterday. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, and we were really touched by the extra plate of fudge, choc and fruit that was given to the person celebrating their birthday at our table. The setting is gorgeous, we were surrounded by history and glamour on a gloomy March day.Recommend Grill highly, and thank you for making our day special.

Having been to the Lygon many times I took my wife for our annivesary. It's no wonder James can afford a Ferrari only one of seven. As for our dinner which comprised Chateau Briande, 1 pud and 2 glasses of wine £145. Always thought the meat was cooked at the table but came cooked and sliced with a small amount of Brassicas. We were ill the following day, rang for the restaurant manager who hasn't replied. Lovely venue, great staff but will not be going back to eat.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch experience at the Lygon Arms Grill - food was top notch (pork belly and nut roast both delicious) and the service was excellent. Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff, all in all a memorable meal for all the right reasons! Expensive but we felt it was worth it for a special occasion.

During a stay at The Lygon Arms I reserved a table at The Grill. I was horrified by all of the negative comments on-line but, as is usual in these cases, I had no need to worry, the food, service and ambience was fantastic. This just goes to prove my theory, there are a lot of people out there who love to complain, on-line and after the event, especially when they are having to spend above average prices. My advice as always is "try for yourself before forming an opinion". My advice, book a table and whilst doing that stay over at the beautful Lygon Arms.

This was an overall disappointing experience. First the good points. It does not seem to have been to other reviewers' tastes but we loved the room especially with a roaring fire going. We were approached reasonably promptly and placed our drinks order and then not long after that were able to give our food order. Then it started to go down hill. I took longer than it should have to get the first course. I had the souffle which was excellent. My partner had opted for the smoked salmon. It was a pretty paltry amount for £19. I mean there is not much you can do with smoked salmon, right but £19... come on. Then the waiting started. A hour and a half passed from us sitting down and no sign of our main course. On the other side of the restaurant was a large party of about 16-18 people. Noisy, giant party balloons which was all a bit TGI Friday's. They arrived after us and had received there main courses. In the end my partner had to get up from the table and hunt down a waiter as they were diligently ignoring us. Not long after the food turned up. We had both order the beetroot ravioli with 'golden beets', roasted hispi cabbage and chips. The food was very poor. The ravioli portions were tiny. Think M&S packet of ravioli divided between three (there were two of us). You can get away with small portions provided each mouthful is exquisite. This was not. The ravioli was hard around the edges. There were no 'golden beets'. The sauce was unremarkable. I suspect it had been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. The chips were meh!. As mentioned in other reviews delivered in a tin cup like in a burger joint. As for the hispi cabbage... they had pulled off the remarkable trick of over and under-cooking it at the same time. Tending to burnt at one end and a raw, inedible stalk at the other end. We skipped pudding. When asked if everything was OK we said that it was not. It took a long time to get arrive and when it did it was not good. The waitress apologised and explained that that had a large group that they had to attend to (the aforementioned TGI Friday lot). Not a good enough excuse to my mind. They said they would take off the service change which I had no intention of paying anyway so big deal. We are not celebrity chef chasers. I don't recall ever going to a restaurant because a celebrity name is attached. We went because we were staying in the hotel. For that reason I let my guard down and did not read the reviews in advance. I wrongly assumed that a hotel like The Lygon Arms would ensure some kind of quality. This leads to my final point. Now that I have looked back at the reviews I can see the issues are long standing. There does not seem to have been any improvement by James Martin or the hotel. It reflects badly on both. I guess the hotel and restaurant will ride on the coat tails of a historical reputation and as long as it keeps generating money there is no incentive need to fix the problems. We will not be revisiting the restaurant or the hotel or anything James Martin puts his name to. The souffle is the only thing saving it from a 2 star review. Fine-dining aspirations with mostly JD Weatherspoon quality food.

Stunning setting, ambience, amazing chateaubriand, attentive superb staff throughout our evening in both the restaurant and bar. Our evening was made so special. After reading previous reviews I was a little concerned prior to our visit BUT we could not fault anything. James you didn’t let us down. Truly fantastic 🙌

The lunch in the 12/1/25 was very good. Special mentions for the crispy chilli squid and the smoked duck salad; flavoursome dishes and well presented. Front of house service from Val, Gill and Petra was very good and Chef Gabor and the kitchen team produced some great food too! Thanks too to Max.

I have to echo other diners that this was just underwhelming on every level. The space is cavernous and lacks intimacy, and the food was…not great. My companion was served a clearly burned soufflé, the gnocchi were just not good (extra chewy and only tasted of dill) and the carrots were not even remotely as described in the menu (we watched 3 tables send them back). Service was perfectly pleasant though my guess would be they were all very new - effort counts however. Not worth a visit.

I was very reserved about going when seeing the menu online but was forced into it by my wife. The food was as described. I ordered salmon and the wife chicken, simply because the rest of the menu was bland and we hoped the stereotypical british staple might come with a punch. The salmon was very small, slightly overcooked and came with virtually no sauce. I also ordered veg + another side at £6 each. As mentioned, the food was fine but very overpriced and nothing a very junior cook couldn't cook in minutes. The main downfall though was that it was completely lacking atmosphere, a big room which was over half empty and the welcoming lady with glasses really set the scene for a bad meal, which we waited over half an hour for after nibbling on bread for 20+ minutes. We had been away in Bath for a few days prior to Broadway and eaten at numerous good restaurants, this one unfortunately isn't one and has gone downhill from 5 years ago when we last visited. Our hotel implied to avoid when mentioning we had pre booked, should have listened and gone to one of the other pubs!

My partner booked this restaurant for Sunday lunch for my birthday. The service was extremely lacklustre, the waitress barely smiled and wasn’t very polite. The food (Sunday lunch and the sticky toffee pudding for desert) was cold. I had requested for my roast beef to be cooked well done and it was pink in the middle. My partner had requested in advance with Tika for my desert to come out on a birthday plate and reconfirmed this with the restaurant a couple of days before and this was forgotten. Overall a poor dining experience and not worth the money. Definitely not up to anyones standards, let alone James Martin’s.

Overall happy but not ecstatic . Restaurant busy so it took time to take our order. Don't know why but waitresses much better in terms of service, cheerfulness , and efficiency than the waiters. You pour your own wine which I actually prefer to do Amuse bouche pleasant Bread platter unappealing, unappetising and stodgy - don't order. Thai crab risotto pleasant. Very good fillet steak , my wife very pleased . Pork chop also good. Chips served in a metal pot a la Harvester / Vintage Inns trendy but silly idea. Fresh strawberries and cream enjoyable. Ambience good

Booked lunch for my wife’s 49th birthday. Took a steam train (GWSR) from our home town, Cheltenham to Broadway which was wonderful. That’s where the wonder ended. We eat out a lot at places with many stars to a good old local pub and everything in between. I was not expecting high end fine dining just a great brasserie with great service. We spent £330 on 3 courses with 3 glasses of wine and a cocktail each, which was pricey. Service was poor from start to finish. Simple things like wine to go with my starter arrived after I’d finished it and asked where it was. 1 poor waitress was running around whilst 3 or 4 others in suits jackets just stood around. Other low lights include a single tiny scallop for £22, it was hand dived in Scotland but that was outrageous. Tough pork chop, steak which was 30% fat and grissel. Highlights; the cocktails and wine were exceptional as were the side dishes and puddings. If you choose to go, get some cocktails, wine, chips and a couple of knickerbocker glories and you’ll be laughing.

Sunday lunch. This is a beautiful setting. The food, however, was not so good. Burrata with heritage tomatoes and pesto = burrata (can’t mess this up) with two thin slices of tomato, a tasteless pesto and a pile of rocket with a very acidic dressing. Roast beef = two good slices of tender tasty sirloin and good roast carrots and greens. The roast potatoes were hard and obviously sat around for ages, as was the Yorkshire. The staff were helpful and attentive. Two courses for more than £50 was very poor value for this quality of food. Not sure when James Martin last darkened the door? My advice: walk through the hotel, admire the rooms and building and walk straight out again. There are lots of places doing Sunday really well but sadly this not one of them.

Lunch at the Grill with friends. Very slow service. The drinks took over an hour to appear. The service was all a bit disjointed. A real shame as we have always wanted to visit and stay at the hotel but this lunch experience has put me off. James Martin better pull his socks up

I have to say that ChoZen is possibly the best pan Asian food ‘place’ I have ever been to within the U.K. I find myself regularly stopping at this particular one due to the route I travel 2 or 3 times a week. The staff have always been delightful with customer service being the forefront of their minds, however, Marie in particular is phenomenal, I have never left the counter without a smile if she’s working. Definitely worth a visit if you want something better than McDonald’s!

Avoid at all costs, they’re totally incapable of getting your order right. Time and time again things wrong, latest last week where they messed the order up but I didn’t check before driving home. Upon calling to report the issue they would only remake part of the order not all of it, so I’d have to let the other part go cold whilst I drive back to collect the remade error. So instead I asked for a full refund binned the lot and went elsewhere. Now I’ve only received a part refund, they’re seriously the worst place I’ve ever encountered & they’re liars to boot. Assuring me I’d get a full refund to get me off the phone now only half refunded. If you’re in Droitwich and you want pizza use anywhere but here. Benvenuti pizzeria is very good or if you want ‘retail’ pizza use papa johns. Just don’t risk this dominoes.
