Jesus this place is bad. They opened the door on opening time and a few people walked in and there was no sandwiches or any food except sweets. I asked if there was any pasties or food and one gormless staff member mumbled to another and then replied no food. There was two staff members overall both just mopping and cleaning from the day before it seemed. No food! So I walked out. This has happened a few times with this store. What's going on? It is a mess. Why open the door on time if you have no food?

Terrible, staff didn’t know what they were doing, understaffed and one member just spent her time out back doing nothing. Filthy tables with rubbish all over the floor.

Low stock on the food constantly. Filthy coffee counter. Customer service rated at minus zero! Rude staff, scruffy, no smile, I'm disabled and was asked if I wanted a bag by a staff member who clearly did t want to serve anyone. He threw the bag across the counter at me and proceeded to serve the person standing behind me. No HELLO, NO NOTHING! Won't be coming back!

Crappest in the country. Yet again I get home 1 minute and 30 seconds away with my order and its wrong again. And cold. How hard is it to hear bacon and omelette roll. Certainly doesn't sound like sausage. Useless staff. There never seems to be a manager ever. Can't get my head around how rubbish it really is. What a waste of space. Maybe next time they will get it right. Just get staff that want to work rather than young adults who want to party the night before. Sort it out.

I visited this store in order to purchase some items and also to use a free item offer I had on an app. I asked the young lady serving me if she could help me work out the free item code as I am autistic and hasn't used the system in a while. She was very blunt and dismissive to me, just simply said no, it doesn't work so you really should have tried somewhere else. I was a bit shocked and said "in my previous experience I have found the code works like this" and explained and she just sighed heavily and said "no. Goodbye!" And turned her back to me. I took my drink that I'd paid for and left the store; I did complain to head office, who were brilliant, but I did tell them I would review my experience. Unfortunately this happened at the end of a difficult personal health episode so my confidence was heavily knocked.

Even though busy I was served quickly the male member was efficient and friendly, I bought a sausage roll and it was 😋 yummy. I would definitely use again but would use the app and click and collect for quicker service. Can't fault the experience so far.

Thought it might be a good idea to pick up some breakfast rolls on the way into work, unfortunately had quite a long wait for food to be cooked, peak time for breakfast on a Sunday morning. 20 minutes, so was late for work.

ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS! I asked for a steak bake and a coffee and was served a stone cold, burnt, and leaking bake. the coffee also tasted like urine. One of the staff there was a man who must have been in his 30s and he gave me lip and told me not to get my 'knickers in a ttwist' just beacuse i complained about the awful food. Never going again, shameful.

Absolutely rubbish , some cold solid vegetable slice and stale hard grease ridden hash browns, such a shame waste of money , pull your socks up and offer customers warm food , this was at 9am in the morning!!!

This is the 2nd time I have visited The Duke and the experience this time was not as good. Unfortunately, the waiting staff seemed very disorganised and were not very attentive when taking the order. The cutlery, serviettes were not brought out all at once but they kept coming backwards and forwards. One of the party had the gnocchi and when the waiter asked if we wanted anything else, ie, sauces, etc, they requested some parmesan cheese. The waiter returned to say that we could have parmesan but there would be an extra charge of £1 ! I have never in all the times I have visited restaurants have been asked to pay extra for parmesan cheese. We then asked to speak to the manager, who came over and said she would have to speak to the chef as she was a temporary manager. I am not sure what that had to do with making a decision on whether or not we had to pay for the parmesan. I pointed out that a member of the party was having the fish & chips but had requested at the time of ordering that they did not want the mushy peas or tartare sauce. We would certainly not have expected to receive a reduction in the price ! The temporary manager then said she did not want to argue about it so would bring a portion of parmesan for no extra cost. I was a bit annoyed as there should have not been any argument at all as surely a small grating of parmesan should be free anyway, or the price incorporated in the cost of the meal !

Absolutely disgraceful service! We rang with our order to be told they had no tandoori chicken. So we had to change our order. The order came and was all wrong. We rang them back and asked for a new pizza and wedges to be sent! We had to wait an hour for this! My little boy was supposed to enjoy he’s take away with us but instead had to sit and eat on he’s own! We spent a lot of money ! The woman on the other end of the phone could not understand a word of English. I’m not happy at all! Your customer service is awful!

We erroneously made an order from just eats from Cambridge and did not notice that this reastuarant is from sussex. They called us why we could not get our order since it was already prepared. (8mins from ordering in the app). Since we went to a restaurant here in cambridge we realize we made a wrong order. The owner/staff from the Nice Chinese take away accommodated us and cancelled our order and processed our refund. Thank you so much!
