Last 4 times I’ve been no steak bakes or sausage rolls it’s a joke

Poor service from incompetent and unfriendly staff. Hygiene with some staff is an issue! Food is not great quality and the whole store is in desperate need of a decent manager!

Just eat delivered the totally wrong order so called up the venue and they asked me come down. They went out of their way to replicate the order and were super friendly and apologetic. Kudos to Caz and the team! Brilliant service x

Very confusing layout but good food

Workers are useless, waiting in line for 15 mins whilst they ignored customers and took their time doing other tasks that could have been taken care of by someone else

This place doesn't open at 6am as advertised. They open at 6.30am

Don’t usually review Greggs, as I visit many often, but this one stands out. Great team, always super friendly, never spooked by how busy the store is. Food comes out the right level of cooked & the team are mindful of stock & are clearly very aware of their hourly trends. 10/10. Thank you. Next time I’m cold I’ll wear my Greggs jumper to show my outward appreciation.

Great price (6 sausage rolls, 2 drinks, 1 pack of yum yums and a pepperoni pizza for only £13 great staff and delicious food

Went into greggs today, and there was a new women serving; which might be ‘Sarah’ reading all the other reviews. She was lovely; very friendly :)

Good food but there’s no sense of urgency, no matter how long the queue gets they won’t grab someone else out to serve, plus you can tell no one wants to work there

Popped in with my wife to get bakes, drinks and buns. Lovely staff, and chilled atmosphere. Shout out to “TRAINEE SARAH” she was really friendly and helpfull

Grabbed some wedges to snack on but they were not good, should have stuck to the bakes. Limp and barely warm but tbh if I wanted chips should have gone to a chippy. Staff friendly and helpful and gave me some ketchup and told me about the app to get a free drink. Can't complain and next time will get a steak bake instead lol.

Well interesting day went to greggs came out got home thought my slice was a chicken bake but it turned out to be. A steak bake lol not what i expected but was very yummy but make sure next time to get the right one thankyou

Why do they have 1 person serving at the busiest time? 12 in the queue and a trainee on the service?

Orderd a lunch Bundle waited 2 hours Only to call the restaurant to have them tell us its been delived . Don't recommend ordering from there unless u wanna be fobbed go ahead

Food is always cold. Majority of people serving seem good but there’s a young boy in there who is so unbelievably rude I have never known anything like it. Spoke so rudely, was throwing my food around in the heater. Complete can’t be bothered attitude. Sad really.

Food is always great, but they seem to shut up early most days, arrived at 4.30pm and the lights were all off, supposed to be open until 5pm! This has happened many times recently Have to then go into the town centre if I want my sausage roll. C'mon guys you're in the perfect location, you're losing customers!!

Where to start... A staff member was so rude and arrogant towards me in the Newbury store! I would have to say this isn't a nice place to walk into and order food.

Very slow service I had a big order and asked for a bag which was plonked on the counter as my food slipped off to the floor I was asked if everything was OK which I replied no its not they could of at least bag it up for me please retrain your staff

Love Gregg's. Very good value for money, they have now healthier options.

Every time I've been in there is no food, even when there is food deliveroo and all that shower get priority, staff are rude this has been my experience every time I've visited, gave the benefit of doubt more than once won't be going again terrible advertisement for Greg's

Please remove your store from Just Eat. You're constantly 'not taking orders' and when you are every single thing on the menu says 'not available'. When the time comes and you can actually order something, it goes wrong.. two thirds of the order received; and what previously I imagine to have been a cold drink, was chucked in with hot food.

Two staff, one of whom was dedicated to the constant stream of delivery drivers or riders picking up orders. I stood for 10 minutes waiting whilst at least 5 orders went out. Not good enough.

Never EVER enough staff. They need to hire more people for the weekends and peak times like morning and lunch. There’s only ever one person serving and the other is doing delivery orders. Horrific waiting times

Slowest Greggs I've been in. 1 person serving when the queue is to the door. Stood there for 15 mins. Not good.

Oh dear! Filled Baguette was ok but it went downhill from there. Partner opted for a chicken wrap which was tiny and so tasteless she threw it away. The latte, not available with half a shot, was very bitter and barely warm. It's the first time I've been in a Greggs for some years. It will be even longer before I bother to return

Always visit Greggs when in UK. Lovely coffee. Fast service. Plenty of choice for very little money.

The last 2 Friday mornings as been unsatisfactory for me as I don't really eat pastry and too get sandwiches as been disappointing nothing self's bare, the staff have been great today I asked why dew too not enough been busy serving which I totally understand. Please make up the sandwiches and please make the costumers happy 😊.

Generally Good. But have found more and more recently that I have to wait for food to be cooked so they can fulfill mine and several other customer orders while we wait for 16 mins

I love Greggs and was dissapointed, ordered breakfast and a tea and was only told after i asked that they had completely run out of sugar i was not impressed

This used to be a good Greggs. But really gone down hill recently and often big queues often and service is really slow, items missing from the menu and lots of staff behind the scenes and not helping to reduce queues. The one in the town centre is much better.

Great when the food is hot, poor when it's not!

Online orders are still their priority and so much so that even though they had baguettes in the draw they were not for us instore plebs, oh no instead I was allowed to have a broken mangled stale roll that looked like it had been handled roughly. Well, that was after I complained about the baguettes. I should know my place.🙄 The new buch who work there are not great, unfriendly and just not efficient, so I'm done with them. I won't be going back soon. 👎🏽

As you would expect from a greggs. Same stuff as the others. Staff are friendly. Had a poor baguette here once that only had two little bits of chicken which was disappointing and was also refused a fresh baguette with no onion which I'm allergic to. Really handy where it is and can get busy at times.

Terrible service, long queues, staff are miserable

Food ok but service is slow & you can be waiting for quite some time to be served.

If there's more than 2 people in the queue don't bother going on. Staff can be painfully slow and prioritise making sure there's another 20 packs of sausage rolls at the front rather than reducing the queue.

Fast and filling, everyone loves a Greggs! The store on London Road is clean, spacious and usually well stocked - and while they can usually be quite rushed off their feet, the staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside to this store is while the location serves people well who work in the nearby industrial estate, there’s not a giant amount of parking directly next to the store - although there is plenty a road or two over by the larger shops.

I like this shop, bit hot food often not hot!

Went in at 12, waited 20 minutes in the queue to be told there was no bakes or sausage rolls in the oven and it would be a 20 minute wait - there was no hot food available. Disappointing especially on a Saturday

Forgot to give us the sausage rolls we paid for and then was rude, had an attitude & poor costumer service and was gaslighting over the phone and when I asked her to stop speaking to me like that she carried on and kept repeating herself and purposely was unnecessarily making the conversation go round in circles. When I explained the situation and let them know I would be back to collect. The reply I got: “well what do you expect me to do about it, there’s nothing we can do about it now.” I replied “ we’ll be back soon to collect” and then she’d reply “well there’s nothing we can do about it now is there” I said “I know, we’ll be back soon” then she said “there’s nothing we can do now about it though is there”. I ended up having no choice but to hang up as she just kept strangely going on a loop, I dunno if she was suffering a malfunction or what but obviously give the costumer what they paid for when they come back to collect, that shouldn’t be rocket science, it should be common sense and definitely go back to training and learn your job and costumer service because if you can’t handle saying “sorry for the inconvenience, see you soon” then you’ve got big problems. To top it off pretty sure it was the manager.

Waited near on 40 minutes for 4 chicken bakes! One member of staff named Shannon really lets this place down! All other staff were helpful and friendly 🙂

Unfortunately this has gone down hill since a change in staff, maybe its down to uber eats and just eat, who knows. But the delays are far too long!!! It's no longer the case of pop in and grab something, it's atleast 10 minutes each time.

Great food on this visit but shelves were bare, almost nothing left. That meant we had to wait but it was worth it. It was a late lunch so I understand that they would not want to prepare too much food before closing.

Food good but I asked for a sausage bap, was given a sausage roll. They changed it, however when I got to work I discovered was actually a bacon bap 😩

Popped in this morning (22 Jul 2022) just before 10am to get a breakfast sandwich with my husband. We aren't from the area, but having had Greggs breakfast sandwiches elsewhere before we had an idea of what to expect - hence our patronage. On arriving at the store there was an expanse of empty shelving at the front counter - evidence of the baked goods not getting prepped and out on time. The chap before me in the queue ordered a sausage, bacon and omelette roll. The girl serving told him it'd be a 16 minute wait for sausage and he said that he wouldn't be waiting. That 16 minutes quickly turned into just 4 minutes and he was promptly served. Then came my turn. A simple bacon and omelette baguette with ketchup for me, a bacon roll with extra bacon for my husband and two lattes. Not rocket science. After having made up my husband's bacon roll, we were then advised that it'd be a further 10 minutes for more bacon to fulfil my order. So, we went and sat down and we waited. I told my husband to get his roll eaten whilst it was still hot. Finally, my baguette was ready and my husband picked it up from the counter (at this time the queues were snaking out the door of unfulfilled customers yet Uber and Deliveroo orders were going out the door). My husband brought the baguette to me where I was seating and I opened the wrapper. The baguette was plastered with butter (not the usual light spreading which is acceptable), hardly any omelette there (which had now congealed with the butter), no ketchup and the bacon was barely warmed up. In fact I'd go so far as to say it was raw. I just said to my husband "sorry love, I can't eat that", and chucked it in the bin. As the staff seemed completely unable to effectively man the counters, prepare and serve food (and the huge queues which had now formed), I thought it pointless to seek the order making properly and left the store. I definitely won't be back to that branch of Greggs. There's huge staff training issues and a basic inability to get hot food prepped onto the counters for instant-serve items and a poor understanding of having sufficient bacon, sausage or omelette ready (as well as more in the ovens to replenish) at the height of breakfast service. Looking at previous comments, it seems I am not alone in my observations. Come on Greggs, I've been to countless stores elsewhere around the country. I know you can do much better than this!

I'm really sorry to say that but it's Monday and this place is open neatly 30 mins..comes for breakfast but unfortunately will be hungry. no single sandwiche available for customers...only some salads from last night... that is really poor

It's a Greggs, you know the deal, although I can never understand why they run out of vegan sausage rolls at lunch time? Can they not see they are getting low and put some more in the oven BEFORE they all get sold??

Lovely snacks but sadly, long delays mean they are losing customers to all the Deliveroo and Ubers. Customers want fast food, we and many others waited over 15 minutes to be served. Whilst two staff members on counter, prepared deliveries. Many others gave up and left. You need extra staff on peak hours.

Love the fresh hot sausage rolls and sandwiches, not a fan of the bacon, the hot chocolates are lovely, good prices and they deliver. Dont forget to download the app to collect free food stamps

Terrible service, one trainee was picking his nose whilst serving another customer. Then used NO gloves after 🤮 Asked for 2 chocolate donuts and got 1 🤬😡 Won’t be returning!!

Went in for a hot breakfast roll and drink. The hot chocolate was hot and very tasty, but can't say the same for the bacon roll that came out cold, price wise it's a great deal, but they do need to improve on the way the food is served.

Do NOT order via JustEat! This is not a reflection of the JustEat delivery service, which is very good; this review is based on this Greggs' store's inability to produce a complete order. In the last week, two orders have arrived with 'missing' items; the first time two sandwiches were missing and today, a steak bake. Honestly, if you cannot complete a six-item order, why bother? Unfortunately, I will not be ordering again as I'm not really into playing "Guess what's missing from your order?".

We went to Greggs hoping we would be able to sit down but the new company policy is no seating inside the shops! So we sat in the car! However, the service was fab and the three people working in there were super friendly, super helpful and very patient, we had a big order with lots of kids with us! Lots of choice too!

Good food but what makes the difference is your friendly and polite staff.
