Saint Espresso in Islington

Service not good which is a shame as if used to be great (a few people have left and the quality has gone down). Maybe the staff need to be paid better?

Coffee quality is very good, location is very nice, price same as everywhere these days but for some reason the coffees x 2 and hot chocolate were just not hot enough really. Must be the milk not up to 70+ degrees more like 45/50. Hope this feedback helps. Great potential if temp sorted.

Saved my birthday ;-) My husband popped out to get me a vegan birthday doughnut from DT only to discover they no longer exist, so he went on a mission to find something interesting and came across Saint Espresso. The cakes caught his eye and he was delighted to find three vegan options! OMG, the sticky toffee cherry cake and the almond cake are incredible. So so delicious. He also got the salted caramel brownie which has an unusual texture (maybe it's not meant to be a brownie) and a delicious salted caramel on the top. Just wanted to leave a review as so far no one has commented on it being vegan friendly and I want other vegans to know! Thanks for making such gorgeous cakes for us.

The drinks were cold - not worth £4.50! The staff were not very friendly

Friendly staff, quick service. Coffee is good better than Blank Street close by. Heat up the pastries too which is a nice touch in the colder weather

Had a quick coffee and pastry while waiting for a friend. Coffee, flat white, was tasty but not hot enough. Cardamon bun, pretty dry and uninspiring. There was nice seating right outside the cafe in Angel Central arcade.

Always so rude! Keep trying because I like their coffee but no more. The female barista has a serious attitude problem for no apparent reason. Get another job if you hate it so much. Total business liability.

Very good coffee with some tables to sit outside and enjoy warm weather. We didn’t take any food but all the pastries looked mouthwatering

The default latte size is a joke 🙈 probably half of the industry average, looks much more like an espresso one. Yeah, they apparently have "large" cups, but they are not in the menu, and batista doesn't ask which one you prefer (at least in my case)

Always clean and organized with very nice staff with great location! Cherry Matcha is my favourite! Would recommend!

Coffee here is okay, to be honest I haven’t tried the pastries to judge. They only have regular milk and oat milk which is very disappointing. A larger selection of plant based milks would’ve made this place better, to me.

As this is so local for us, and the coffee was tasty, we gave the service the benefit of the doubt - we all have bad days. Still it was always abrupt and abrasive- particularly from Yulia. Just before xmas popped in with a friend and received similar attitude. My friend was disgusted. This time I asked why she was always so unhappy and received an aggressive retort: 'Why are you so rude?' Incredible! Despite consistently receiving her caustic attitude, we say hello, offer good wishes -and this is considered rude? You hope your local coffee place will be friendly and warm so you feel good going and hanging out. This place is the complete opposite....purely because of this person. In the end, the espresso tasted odd, so maybe she added cleaning fluid because of our interaction- who knows, definitely not trustworthy. My partner and I will not be returning. My Italian friend who lives locally too will also add her negative review soon. This woman/girl is a liability to the business and at the very least should not be customer facing. Avoid!!!

Rude service, either profiled due to my choosing of a hood today (careful this winter guys) or she's just ignorant an rude... Saint would have sold a keepcup this afternoon, but the lady's complete lack of interest in anything I had to say/ask put me off... I'll order from the website instead. 🧐🙄 Also £4.20 for a large capo... she should have been wearing a balaclava when she rang that up!... lol

£4.20 for an oat cap. Tasted pretty mediocre too. Why charge so much for alt milks?

My absolute favourite coffee shop to go whenever I am at Angel. Super nice and friendly staff, who always make you feel welcomed. Excellent coffee, cappuccino is delicious without a fail. Definitely recommend to visit!

They've got batched brewed coffee! And it's pretty good too, a tad under extracted.

Disappointing quality of coffee. Watery, without a proper foam on cappuccino, and the beans don’t seem to be specialty. I love this place in Hackney, coffee there is definitely much better, even though it’s supposed to be the same quality in the same chain.

Brilliantly strong flat white coffee, nice and quiet surroundings in the middle of Angel's shopping precinct. Will have to return to sample some of the food I think 😀

Lovely to see the previously empty unit in the N1 Centre has been taken over by an. excellent coffee shop, and one very suited to the wings above. Really tasty coffee, and fantastic service.

Lovely third wave coffee shop. Highly recommend to drink a flat white or filter coffee and eat some brownie!

Amazing all around glass wall mounted coffee place ,surrounded by bushes and planters. Customer service is excellent and very friendly, seating area is small but very posh outlook .Brazilian beans coffee taste is very different from most of the high Street coffee retailers.

Thanks to Lauren, Juliia and their other helpers my day is much brighter! It is SO relaxing to linger outside Saint Espresso over an excellent coffee and be apart of Angel Central's bustling community and activities!

The best place to take morning coffee!

I made a mistake ordering the wrong coffee and I apologised and asked the lady staff to make me another coffee. However she wanted to charge me again as a new...I didn't mind paying the difference but She kept saying I can't give you free coffee. if this happened in another coffee place they would make another without asking to pay again. After I went back again..she refund me which I didn't want - all I wanted was to get a coffee I wanted. Where is the customer service & problem resolution? Is it just chatting how are you & how is your day ..etc. disappointing!!

Coffee exactly how you like it. I like my coffee short and strong, not quite espresso not quite American and often have to compromise. These guys got it perfect. The young lad and lass were incredibly friendly and really interested in our conversation. The cafe is clean and looks very modern and exciting. The almond croissant was amazing too! Best coffee in Angel 🥰☕
