Our experience here was probably better than average but not as good as very good! Pity there is no “good” category. Tried a few other cafes but everywhere seemed full so called in for a coffee and cake. Very friendly staff and quick service with reasonable prices. Coffee was hot and tasted quite pleasant. No real complaints. Plenty of seating, good choice of food and toilets available.

Just went and got 2 pepperoni pizzas and a steak bake paid picked them up to leave they’re stone cold, once again cold food not a happy customer.

Nice coffee and cake as always. Clean and comfortable. Failed to go in previously as thought it was full to eat in but had a nice chat with the new manageress who informed us there is a large seating area upstairs. Always find Greggs staff around the country really pleasant and helpful.

Have always loved the cheese and onion slices from Greggs…BUT not from here…it was served COLD 🥶 Sadly neither of us could be bothered to complain and all went in the bin. Avoid going here and hopefully then someone somewhere in the nether regions of Greggs head office will 🤔 but I doubt it. They take your money and couldn’t care less if it’s totally 💯 awful. Sad days.

Why have just one team member serving a full shop while a girl wanders round filling shelves with buns. ? Normally on the ball. Today clueless.

Closed again this morning, due to staff issues! Getting too repetitive, need to sort themselves out and get some reliable workers.

Fantastic. Had everything for breakfast Shame there’s not enough staff to keep the shop open all day due to staff shortages. The make and female staff I encountered that morning were busy but amazing together as a team.

Got served a stone cold pasty and was told they couldn’t heat it up. No offer of getting a new one from the oven. No sandwiches in the fridge either. Pricy for what it is.

Considering the recent price increase in these sausage rolls, I have to say I’m very disappointed. The customer service we received was nothing better than a slap in the face. The lady was very rude and shouted at other customers for sitting down even though they were still 20 mi utes from closing. Bear in mind a huge queue had gathered as the employees were lingering in the back rather than serving customers. We will not be returning.

Shelfs are always empty no matter what time you visit, rarely you can get a good sandwich what in other shops are available.

The young lad that served me at approx 10am on Sat Oct 29th was lovely, polite & cheery. Thanks pal, you’re a credit to your industry.

Miserable staff, saw staff smoking outside, not a good look and that’s when it’s open called a few time and it’s been closed due to staff issues…..missing out on £££

Excellent value coffee and bacon butty. Lovely surrounding with a nice seating area outside to enjoy your food.

Overall, I’d say if you actually want options of what food to get, you need to get there before lunch. Me and my family went in the afternoon and nothing was available, which I would have thought if they were used to lots of customers they would have stock. So definitely not the best Greggs at all, as you need to get there early to be able to get something.

We were asked to be quiet because she couldn’t hear her customers, we couldn’t hear due to the queue they had created. This is not a place that we will be returning to until the staff change their ways.

We went to the above for breakfast before our walk as previous years visits but unfortunately they have closed and relocated further along the street in a small parade of shops. It didn’t end well as new Greggs doesn’t open on a Monday or Tuesday so be aware of this. Always value for coffee’s and bacon baps

For anyone who doesn't know Greegs sell sausage rolls They are the best takeaway sausage rolls by a long margin Their sausage rolls can be bought in packs of 4- enough sausage roll for anyone Highly recommended sausage rolls Enjoy your sausage roll :-)

Food always great, service always great, coffee worse than instant coffee. Love tuna crunch and it is always in stock but vegan sausage rolls sell out really quick.

Bacon, sausage butty and coffee for less than £3. Form a queue. Its not just genius marketing, its value that drives places like this.

I used to snack at Greggs routinely, but when compared to Cornish shops, Greggs has lost its lustre. I tried several meat pies that were skinny of meat and instead had too much highly seasoned gravy. There will always be a time for Greggs --but they need to up their game!

as per greggs is the same every where you go the staff in this shop were freindly and helpful there must be a gregs in every town now lol great if you like sausage rolls lol

I found Greg's sold all I wanted people nice one must remember one is only in there for a very short time

It is what it is, it sells pasties etc and that's what you'd expect. If you want gourmet, then go elsewhere

Great location with lots of choice as always. Staff were still accepting the old pound coins, which was great. We always pop in here when we are in Ambleside.

Good coffee and great cheap fancy's to grab on the go.The donuts are fresh and the apple filled pastry is to die for. So good.

Part of Greggs chain offering reasonably cheap food and drink, not a lot to add. Easy to find in town centre

Obnoxious staff who told me "we don't do pies we haven't sold in here for 30 years". Well not sure how he knew that as he looked about 25 and every Greggs that I've been in have sold pies. No customer service just rushing you to make a decision so he could serve next person! Steak slices,pasties and sausage rolls very nice, however tuna crunch baguette was basically tuna mayonnaise and onion.

Our traditional pre-fell-walking stop to pick up summit pasties. Highly recommend the new vegetable katsu recipe!

You can get everything from this Greggs that you can get from any Greggs shop. We just missed out on breakfast today which ends by 11.30am - note to self I MUST arrive before that time next time. We decided to go for the pasties option which was more than good enough to get us to Grasmere - but there was as ever a lot of choice

With the Greggs chain, you always know what you are going to get - good, honest food, served very quickly, and the Ambleside branch is no different.I have called in here numerous times over the years, and it has always been good. The staff are always really friendly, there is usually a good range of bakes ready to go, and the food is always good and hot. On my most recent visit in June, I just called in for a sausage roll. It was as good as ever, and the cheery staff member was only too happy to serve me.A very good Greggs, and well worth a visit for a snack if you are in Ambleside....
