Staff were friendly. But they only had one till working not the staff's fault it's Greggs themselves that should do something as customers were queuing out the door. I had a bake which was cold other food was fine.

The staff attitudes stink. I have been here twice to buy food and both times I left without buying anything, The look of disgust when you dare walk through the door alone is enough to make you turn back. They appear not to mind losing businesses. Judging by the reviews on here, it is not just me who experienced really bad service!

Set in one of the oldest buildings in Newark you will find Greggs. Just off the market square , this place is always busy! I simply love the freshness of everything, it’s just a shame they’ve stopped making my favourite, savoury cheese and bacon!

Of all the Greggs in the UK this one has particularly poor customer service from overly officious staff. I went there this morning for a couple of coffees and a pastie with my wife. The shop can hold 4 customers at once but the COVID police behind the counter deemed my wife and I couldn't be together so she had to stand outside and shout her order from the door, it was like a scene from a carry on film. It was only afterwards I thought to myself, every other Greggs in Britain is very welcoming, but Newark's Greggs always has been a miserable place. Get an Area Manager in there to remind them who the customer is and how their wages get paid, or can them all and get some more positive people in. COVID or not they're bloody miserable.

Situated in a wonderful building just off the market square in Newark you will find Greggs! Always fresh and varied sandwiches and rolls, although my favourite one has now been discontinue, the bacon and cheese! It hasn’t put me off going though!

Whilst there seemed to be a well stocked display in the cabinet, the pasties were cold. Still edible and tasty, but just cold. Pity they can't be kept warm.

Well what a surprise. I always thought this was a takeaway but it has a massive cafe on 3 floors. Usual Greggs rolls so you know what you are getting. Building is centuries old hence the floor is uneven. Staff a little abrupt and no plates offered but I would return due to the pricing and convenience.

I see alot of people complain about the fact the building is dark or uneven on the floors... What can you expect from such a FANTASTIC piece of history,!! OK so it's Greggs, nothing fancy, but the building is unreal!! Go and check it out upstairs..

Stopped at breakfast time, old building so dark had to use my torch to look inside my handbag, staff use their fingers to handle Raw bacon to put it into trays for cooking no gloves no tongs UGH ?? Toilets absolutely filthy this was at 10.30 am ,decided not to use them. We are regular customers of Greggs takeaway shops all over the place , will not visit this one again, What's happening at this place it is a terrible let down for a Greggs so disgusted by hygiene standards. I rated it a 1 as my coffee was hot that's all.

Ive been in here a few times and instantly you notice how dark it is and the floors are uneven but yhe biggest problem is the waiting time to get served wen the staff are in the back.they just seem to ignore you and wen it does come the coffee is luke warm...

Greggs is an unassuming dark-wooded place to drink coffee or snack, with uneven floors, and table-clearing somewhat lax, but upstairs is the room where Charles I last quarreled with his nephew Prince Rupert, so it IS a place to visit if you are into the Civil Wars and like a spot of history whilst you take a break. Oddly, the venue seems to make no mention of this.

I've been into this Greegs 3/4 times now. Staff are friendly enough but food is poor. Normally buy a sausage roll and something else different each time. Everytime I've been in at least 1 of the items purchased has been cold. Would expect better from such a big brand.

Not only is this branch of Greggs in a beautful, centuries old historic building, when it came to ordering, i was limited in my choices as I had left my money in the hotelThe counter lady didnt even blink and welcomed me to enjoy my delicious breakfast cob on the house!Needless to say, I was in again the next day.

Always good for a coffee and quick snack or bacon sandwich! The building itself is amazing (must venture upstairs to really appreciate it). The staff are run off their feet but very efficient.

Have used this shop for many years and food is always lovely but went in to the actual shop part today 20/02/2017 about 9.30 am and the lady who served me was unbelievably rude .I couldnt see very well and asked a price and she told me the price with an added sarcastic " its the price it says clearly for you to see".As it was, it was the wrong price on the item anyway .... She was rude and i will not be using this shop again.. .

Stopped here for coffees x 4. Coffee was bland but that is not the reason for low marks. Greggs are bakers and servring fresh foods etc. The upstairs toilets were filthy. The had been neglected for some time with no paper towels and grime on wash basin and taps. Not given to complaining normally but this was bad for a food outlet. Goodness knows if staff use these without paper.I informed same upstairs and she just remarked...oh, the cleaner did not come in today!. Well get someone to clean and bleach them!!!!!! We intended to eat breakfast but left after coffee. Will not return. Coffee was £8.00...Salmonella was no charge.

This is now something of a dying concept, a straight forward cafe, and its easy to see why. Only real thing to recommend it for is that there will usually be space to sit down. Otherwise its just a humble cafe, with nothing to recommend it.

This place is great for quick food and drink if you are short for time.I eat her before I go to work sometimes or my lunch break. The cafe is an old Tudor building that adds to the ambience of sitting in the cafe! The food is always good and the staff friendly and good value for money.

Greggs in Newark has the usual cakes, bread and pastries to buy and take away, but this shop is a little different. You can buy from the standard range or choose from their breakfast selection and have rolls or sandwiches made up for you.The service is friendly and cheerful and they will try to make it as you like it. You take a tray, place an order, pay for it and choose where you sit. Simple, straightforward food at good prices. If you go upstairs to eat, you can see the old timbers, slightly wonky floorboards, and some carving and old artwork in the plaster. Certainly one of the oldest buildings that we have eaten in!

We sat down to eat at 3pm. Staff had already begun cleaning up in preparation for closing. There were still people eating as they stacked chairs, wiped tables, sweeping and mopping floors around us. Not impressed as closing time is meant to be 4pm.

The food was ok, but the bacon tasted like cardboard and wasn’t very welcoming & the portions are Not the best as you do pay a bit for a Breakfast. I would go next door to the butchers I think it would make the meat better quality.

Went here on the Saturday, table of two. Drinks were the same price as rest of the complex, food was expensive but I would have eaten 60 of those cheeseburgers if I had the capacity to do so. The lad that served us, Jack M, was a legend and made sure everything went smoothly, food came out quickly, Great night 🔥
