Green Man in Wandsworth

We always use the Green Man after our Fulham football matches for drinks and sometimes a meal. We had a meal yesterday and as always it was well prepared and delicious. I like the effort being made in introducing more vegan dishes. The staff are always friendly and helpful too.

We had a small birthday party for our daughter and the team could not have been more helpful. They kindly brought plates and napkins for the cake, gave us milk when I ran out, kept the wine coming, and all in all just made it a really fantastic afternoon. Thanks to all!

Busy, so be sure to book for Sunday lunch. Pleasant wait staff but rushing around too much, not enough help. The roast beef was much better quality than at the Kings Head at the other end of Putney Heath but everything else on the dish was much better at the Kings Head.

Our family have frequented the Green Man for many years, for drinks and most Sundays for the excellent Sunday lunch! This week, we held my father-in-law's wake at the Green Man and it was perfect! The welcome, the staff & service was spot on, warm, kind, welcoming and sensitive. The food as ever was delicious, everyone commented on how good the food was and how lovely the atmosphere was in the pub. The perfect send off in the perfect place - Thanks to the whole team, see you Sunday!

I can only judge from the burger I got and it wasn't very good. The meat was more boiled than fried, gray and dull. The fries were good enough, but the burger was really bad. Their backyard seemed cozy and there was a good atmosphere - so it's probably a good place for drinks.

Came here for dinner and had a lovely time. The ambience and service were both fantastic and the food came up hot and delicious - i had the steak which was excellent. The food is also very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Back again! We came with a walking group for a set lunch menu and the food was top notch as always. I didn't know what a chicken Chassuer was but I'll definitely be having it again and the sticky toffee pudding was ace. 3 courses for £22 is a bargain.

El Hombre Verde fue un gran hallazgo! El menú se veía fantástico, por lo que es difícil de elegir. Opté por la salchicha y el puré y el pudín de toffee pegajoso, toda la comida sabía muy bien y tenía buena relación calidad-precio. La próxima vez, sin duda voy a reservar una mesa ya que estaba tan ocupado. Muy recomendable!

Another lovely lunch! Lots was off the menu so 1 star down. Update for Sunday roast. We go to Young's pubs alot so obviously standards aren't set too high. Disappointing potatos (dry and below average) as usual not enough veg. But the chicken was good, Yorkie looks impressive but doesn't pack flavour. The staff were amazing as usual. Young's as whole needs to treat the food less like a mass produced school dinner and Taylor the meals to the individual pub/chefs. Nothing against the green man !

Very good pub with very good food. Service was friendly and efficient. They also have big outdoor seating areas but not in use during winter. Will definitely go back. Would be even better in the summer.

Went there for halloween for a quiz and carving, and created our son; Pumpkin Harry. RIP Pumpkin Harry. 2024-2024 Anyway Green Man is the bomb and i kinda wanna visit constantly.

Vinimos aquí después de un funeral familiar para tomar bebidas y una comida y nos asignaron una acogedora habitación cerca del bar donde todos podíamos reunirnos lejos de la zona principal del pub. El personal era muy atento y la comida era buena. Muchas gracias a todos en el Hombre Verde.

Gran lugar para una fiesta de bebidas! El personal era muy servicial y el servicio era genial. Ambiente encantador y un gran lugar para ponerse al día con un grupo de amigos.

Nice public house right by Putney Health. You can eat outside in the summers with a big BBQ in the Beer Garden.

Attended a family gathering at tge Green man. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly, attentive and made the afternoon special.

We popped into this lovely pub after a long family walk on the heath. The ale was in top condition the food was great, especially the game pie. We had a lovely seat next to the fire and the young lad that served us was great. We will definitely be walking this way again in the future.

We booked for Christmas Dinner on the 25th December 2024. We had a great time. Food was plentiful and well prepared. Timing was great across several courses - we weren't rushed, and the flow of the meal was good. Service was excellent - not at all fussy but there was someone available if we needed them. We visit the Green Man a number of times during the year and definitely plan to return on Christmas Day 2025.

Visited the pub with extended family living close by. Really cosy, nice service and food was also very good. Easy to get to with bus stops outside.

I can't express how grateful we are to all the team at the Green Man for making this Christmas such a treat. From the moment we walked in the door we were doted on. The food was amazing the team were so helpful and we even got a little goody bag at the end which was so unexpected. Hats off to the whole team we will definitely be back.

Christmas Day lunch. My sister 88 and us two. Lovely, warm hubbub atmosphere. Beautifully dressed rooms. We had a splendid table in the window. Plenty of light and plenty of room. Attentive and friendly, caring service from the fabulous Finlay. Food was good and generously portions. Living 10 min walk from the Green Man, I really do want it to be our local.. but it's just too expensive. At present The Green Man is perfect for a "treat"... but huge scope for much more. We are looking forward to seeing you all in 2025

Went there for Christmas bash with Family. Food excellent especially the Quince and Apple Crumble ! Good selections of Beer , wine , spirits etc

I have been going to this pub on a daily basis due to unfortunate circumstances with my wife being in a local hospital. I get off the bus outside and have a cheeky pint first before visiting. The pub is exceptional. Clean with a great beer garden which caters for all weather conditions. Staff and management are great and make you feel really welcome. Whilst I haven't eaten there yet, the food looks amazing.

The food was great, the staff were incredible and we would highly recommend The Green Man for events / parties.

One of my favourite pubs in London. The garden is great in the summer. Excellent Roast Pork on a Sunday.

We had a large booking and the food was exceptional and hot with a particular shout out to the best Roast Pork Belly and home made deserts, The staff are all incredible, friendly, always have a smile and welcoming. Would highly recommend all of their dishes as between our group think we tried most of the menu and it’s all set in wonderful relaxing atmosphere

Nice garden seating. Roast chicken dinner was below par. Too salty and saturated with thyme. Gravy was awful. Pork belly bottom fat was like vulcanised rubber. Potatoes rock hard exterior; dry interior. Carrots not peeled but not scrubbed adequately hence biting grit. Ox cheek croquettes possibly from Iceland and tasteless. Drinks had ice because the bottles weren’t chilled making them watery. Also, too expensive.

So bad long long wait to be serve. Just for a burguer almost 2 hours. And just say sorry... then give a crisp very old , did not check and were open.

Lovely Young’s pub. Good beer choice, reasonable price, and lots of options for seating - cosy outdoor covered beer garden for winter and armchairs inside. Friendly staff.

No lo he estado desde mi última mala crítica pero los autobuses habían desaparecido (! ) y aparentemente eso es todo lo que todo el mundo ha estado hablando en el pub. No esperaba mucho, pero la comida y el servicio eran buenos y el pub estaba casi a la mitad - lleno a mitad de semana a la hora del almuerzo, lo que dice mucho bueno sobre ellos a largo plazo.

I’ve been to this pub a few times since we’ve moved into the neighbourhood and on all occasions it’s been good. Yesterday we decided to try the food and it didn’t disappoint. The fish and chips was tasty and the chicken roast was also good. The portion sizes were big and the food was delivered quickly. The staff are always welcoming and very efficient and nothing is too much bother. Definitely recommend !

We had very nice meal as we were having a wake as our Aunty had passed away and this pub was a good choice to have it there. Very quiet and pleasant overall.

Went for Sundat lunch and was very pleased. The food was tasty and the staff were very friendly ... was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere The only problem we had was that the water bottle had bits floating in it, and one of the water glasses was dirty, but once pointed out to staff, it was changed, and we received an apology. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Lovely local pub where we celebrated our daughter's 5th birthday recently. Everyone loved the venue (and it's wonderul garden!), the food and the whole experience. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. A big shout to Elliot who looked after us beautifully during the event and a huge thanks to Tom, the general manager, for being very accommodating with all requests.

A very enjoyable lunch, OK so the weather wasn't brilliant but it didn't matter. Huge thank you to all the staff who, even though getting a bit wet kept on smiling and made it a really nice experience, professional and friendly doesn't say enough. The food was absolutely fantastic can't fault it in anyway except...there was too much for my Mum, good value good service and a great atmosphere 17/9/24 Still great, still brilliant staff, still good beer, service and atmosphere can't fault it. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Nice place but it unfortunately took ages for food to arrive. And it came very scattered so we didn’t manage to eat together. Service was not great, we asked to clean the table which had sticky stuff on it and crumbs from people before and the lady came back with dry napkins and just swiftly wiped it which did nothing to the sticky stuff and even said “at least it’s a bit better than before”. We were shocked. Kids burger super dry but hummus was nice.

Great family pub, gorgeous outside space too with not too many people smoking. The food was great and a fab time was had by all!

We were invited back after a previous visit which wasn't up to scratch. This time the food was delicious and hot and plentiful. The service was fantastic and we will definately be back for a Sunday lunch. Thank you Tom.

Great little hidden gem with enormous garden dog and kid friendly

We come to The Green Man regularly and recently booked for my daughter, who is autistic to attend the ‘Sip & Sew’ workshop. It was a brilliant event with a really good mix of age groups. My daughter can become overwhelmed at events like this but all of the staff were brilliant (as they always are) and the lady running the workshop was so kind and understanding. As a result we have booked onto the next workshop in October! We also had lunch which was delicious and the staff are always amazing at ensuring my daughter gets her food the way she likes it. She has a lot of sensory difficulties around food but nothing is ever too much trouble.

I've always gone to this place when I'm in the area my mum lives not far from here.

I visit this pub regularly, the staff are lovely, the food is great and the pub itself is very clean with lots of space inside and out, a good varied menu both food and drinks, a very family oriented pub, all are cater for and dogs are welcome. The roast was amazing, especially the roast potatoes, and service was absolutely incredible. Lizzie really helped us choose the best meal for our dietary restrictions. Definitely recommend, would visit again!

The Sunday roast beef at this pub is really delicious and came out piping hot. The beef is tender and the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings that come with it are amazing. The food is full of great flavors, and the pub has a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. If you want a yummy and traditional Sunday roast beef, this is the place to go!

We have been to the Green Man before. We had a pleasant afternoon, the food was good and the service even better. We are a more mature group and we use the 14 to and from the Green Man. For us, it perfect. A venue to be recommended.

We were there for my dad's wake. Lovely venue, lovely staff & would certainly go again (ideally for another reason) We ordered from the Party Menu & the food was good particularly the burgers & sausage rolls & chips! On reflection we wouldn't order the sandwich platter as they were already quite dry when they came out, the white bread wasn't very appealing & after an hour in the sunshine even drier. However overall all our guests said how lovely the venue & food was.

We had a delightful lunch in the sun with a large group recently. The team were very helpful when we made our reservation as we had lots of dietary requirements. I had the pie which was full of really tender steak and my wife had the fish that was enormous with lovely batter. We sat in the garden that was really peacefull away from the noise of the roads nearby and all our group were really satisfied with the whole experience. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in today for a roast dinner in the garden, showed to our table by a very chatty and polite waitress. The roast pork belly was tender and came out piping hot. Drinks arrived fast and service was all very friendly. 5 stars, will definitely be back soon !

Watched the England euros game here. Everything on the burger menu tasting amazing and there was a great atmosphere in the garden. The frozen margaritas are really good too.

Shambles right from the moment we got there. Booked a table for fathers day and it was alarmingly quiet in the restaurant. However not one person acknowledged us or even said "will be with you shortly" for a good 5 mins as people continued to walk around. We were eventually shown a table by a less than happy waitress and that was surrounded by 4 or 5 unclean tables from previous guests. we asked for a highchair and she said she'll look to see if any were left. 5 mins later no one had come back so we got up and found she was serving again behind the bar?! We asked another member of staff, he said "most customers add it to the notes when booking" well of course we did do that. He then asked another table if he could take their high chair. it wasn't cleaned or wiped down once and he gave it to us without saying a word. No one else came for another 5/10 mins so we got up and left. We felt like we were being an inconvenience just being there & gobsmacked by how rude the staff were considering how empty it was inside.

This venue was chosen because of its close proximity to Putney Vale crematorium and ease of getting there. Your team of staff were very friendly and helpful at all times which was appreciated given the circumstances as to why we were all there . The food was good overall , mini fish and chips 👍👍sausage rolls 👍👍.chocolate brownies 👍👍👍 one thing let you down , that was the sandwiches . There was one choice of bread , white only , and limited choice of filling .

Such a great local pub! I've been in a big group to celebrate a friend's birthday and popped in with just a friend's and the staff are equally accommodating and friendly every time I've come. Lots of space and seating, lovely atmosphere and the food is great. Definitely recommend!

I’ve visited the Green Man for a birthday party. The service and staff were amazing, excellent cocktails and good food too. I’d recommend!

We go to the Green Man regularly and always enjoy it, the service is always very good and the food tasty. I can recommend the fish and chips, the burger and also the beef shin in ale pie. It has the best beer garden locally, there are private huts and plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine, it’s also good if you fancy a cosy table inside with a conservatory area at the back

The ambience and the food was good. The drinks were decent. However their scotch egg (one of the most popular one) was just not good, very basic taste. It could have been better. Fish and chips were fresh, loved the edition of the curry sauce on the side.

I stopped by for a post-work drink and snack recently and was delighted with the friendly welcome from the servers. Enjoyed a delicious (and huge) meal which came in good time, the atmosphere was perfect and I particularly enjoyed the spacious garden. Really happy to have stumbled across this spot and looking forward to my next visit!

It was easy to book online . On arrival we were welcomed and expected and offered a variety of seating outside ( it looked lovely) we chose inside. Our host was helpful and gave us time to chose our food option throughout the courses, was also always on hand for top up drinks.

The Frozen Margaritas and Frozen Aperol spritz in the outside shack were incredible, would 1000% recommend!!

Food Meal 1: Fish bone and egg shall mixed with rice. Meal 2: Ice cold and stale tasting ham. £12 Service When asked about both meals at time of ordering the sever stated, "I really have no idea what that is." Atmosphere: Garden was nice in principal but was very dirty and strewn with trash from the night before. It appears that cleaning up after the Sunday shift happens during Monday Lunch.. In short we had a great time. Its not often you find such a laughably awful trifecta.

We've been coming to the pub for few years now everytime we visit my auntie which lives 15mins down this pub. Hit and miss with food but last weekend was the worst. We ordered 3 fish and chips and a burger. One fish and chips came very dry, almost no fish and had a most awful batter. After 25 long mins the remaining order came after we chased it up. The rest of our order was given to another table earlier by the looks of it. No one bother to ask if our meal was ok otherwise something could have been said at the time. Place has a good garden area, accessible for wheelchair users which one of the guests utilised. Not very attentive waiters and looks confused when serving food to the table (table has numbers so I dont get the confusion) but they seems all nice otherwise.

Great place to go and have drinks with friends or even a date. Staff are amazing just like the food (burgers). Also tried the ox cheek croquettes. They were really nice. Not what I imagined.
