Visited this village pub, whilst staying in the area. My partner and I ate a 2 course meal, which is home cooked, and it was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere in the pub was lovely, jukebox playing, customers singing, but not overbearing Would definitely return if in the area

We called in and parked up in the vast empty car park at 14:15 on Saturday 9th September and to be quite honest we thought the place was closed as it was like the Mary Celeste. Anyway we went inside and found two people sitting at the bar and a lovely friendly bar lady who served us our drinks. We then sat out in the garden area in the sun and relaxed for half an hour. The place is very old and traditional. We enjoyed our visit.

Staying locally and decided to book in for Sunday lunch for a group of 8. Had 3 courses all three courses were absolutely delicious, presented nicely and huge portions, sunday dinner was beef or pork with all the trimmings. They didnt have a children's menu but we asked for smaller roast dinner for 2 children and it wasn't a problem we also asked for just ice cream for the children and again not a problem. Staff were lovely and friendly. Would highly recommend and would visit again. Wonderful little pub with beautiful surroundings!!

This excellent little gem of a pub is the perfect setting to enjoy a real taste of Staffordshire country life. It’s idyllic setting tucks it away from everyday life. Nestled i. The pretty village of Milwich this lovely little hostelry boasts great draft ales and super food. It’s a real family run pub and at the heart o the village means it’s always alive with the locals. Whether it’s a teatime drink in the garden or a lovely supper, you’ll not be disappointed. The staff are super. Friendly and great customer service. EspeciallyTom. We’ve been a few times recently and have been really happy with how they manage safety and cleanliness regarding Covid. Worth a visit for some good traditional pub experience.

The Greenman proved to be a great tonic to a long and ardous day spent in Alton Towers (or more upsettingly Ceebeebies Land). We arrived at 5.00pm when it was nice and quiet......that was until the our toddler had become a little too emboldened and loud after consuming one too many fruit shoots. Elizabeth behind the bar was really good with our little lad and provided plenty of banter along with a couple of the locals. The food was great we had fish and chips and chicken tikka masala but the real revelation was the kids fish goujons which had the appearence of haute cuisine and were just as good as good as any of the adult offerings. The sticky Toffee pudding was also outstanding and there's a good selection of Ales and German beers, a couple of which I purchased to take out and unwind with after a long day in the theme park.

We went to this pub on recommendation from our B&B hosts and had a really lovely evening. Service was prompt and very friendly and we felt welcome though being just some tourists. Didn‘t have any starters but our mains (chicken and burger) were delicious. Beware to have some room left for dessert if you‘ve got kind of a sweet tooth! Chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake are both yummy. Unfortunately didn‘t get the chance to try the sticky toffee pudding the next day as we were too late for food (sundays only served til 7pm, no food on mondays/tuesdays). Whatever you choose, we are pretty sure you‘ll enjoy it 😉. All the best to Rod and Ruth and their team (and Melli and her small „rocket“).

We dropped our girls for an evening at Sherratts Wood scout camp and decided to stop at the Green Man for a quick tea as we were passing. What a great little find for us! Both of our meals were really tasty, lovely presented and the best 'honest' pub grub we've had in ages (there was even proper home cooked chips!). Only a small restaurant area but you can book in advance if you want to be sure of a table. I'm sure we'll be back.

This place is located in the beautiful village of Milwich which is itself worth looking around as it is very picturesque. We stopped off at the Green Man for some lunch and were not disappointed. My husband enjoyed fish and chips and I had a chicken wrap with chilli sauce. The portions were enormous, the chips were homemade and the chicken wrap was the best I had ever tasted (warm and melt in your mouth with red onions and a delicious hot sweet sauce). The staff were very friendly and the drink prices were very reasonable indeed. We will be back!

We're regular visitors to this great country pub and have never been disappointed. The restaurant reopened this week with a new chef and the food was all home made and gorgeous. King prawn and chorizo skewers, paprika chicken with chilli jam, beef red wine and Stilton pie - all wonderful. There's a very wide choice of vegetarian food too including goats cheese and sweet potato kebabs, stuffed peppers, sweet potato and courgette fritters which were all delicious. Rod Ruth and family have run the pub for 26+ years and have awards from CAMRA lining the walls so you know the real ale is the best available, plus a specials board of craft ales and lagers from America and U.K., and a full menu of Bavarian beers. There's always an open fire blazing in the cold months and when it's warmer there's a big garden with a stream and lots of benches and tables to eat and enjoy the sunshine. A footpath runs from the garden and walking books / maps are sold in the pub. It's amazing that a small friendly village pub can have so much for everyone.

we were not even sure where Milwich was, when invited to friends special birthday meal. From the outside the pub looked clean and tidy but small, it was a shock on going in to find that although each part of the pub was quite small, it kept going back and that there were in fact threee distinct areas, The dining room was intimate, but as we were all one party, that was fine. The food was outstanding, home cooked well presented and just so much better than we could have imagined. The service was excellent, and although we will probably not venture that distance on a dark wintry night, we are already planning to revisit in the spring and will be telling all our friends just how good it is.

We've been eating at the Green Man on a fairly regular basis for several years and love it! This is a real country village pub serving some excellent real ales. We've got to know Rod who obviously cares passionately about the quality of his beer and always seems to have an interesting guest bitter or two on offer. The pub has won several CAMRA awards over the years. But it is Ruth's cooking that is the clincher for us. Whenever Jan doesn't feel like cooking she'll say "Shall we pop over to the Green Man for a meal tonight?" and I never need to be asked twice! The menu contains a good selection and there is always something chalked up on the specials board. Now this is not 'fine dining'! But we love the food. Everything is prepared by Ruth and home cooked to order. Whether it's a steak (supplied by Sargeants at Bramshall), a homemade pie, a fish dish or a curry we know that it has been cooked and not 'pinged' in a microwave. We enjoy sitting in the bar especially in the winter with a proper coal fire burning in the fireplace. But you can sit in slightly more formal style in a small room just off the bar. Wherever you sit I'm sure you'll have a great night out

My friend suggested we call in to her local for a bite to eat. I was sceptical when I rocked up...the place was busy with drinkers, not diners, and the restaurant is pushed to the back of the pub in a slightly soulless room.Thankfully my initial impressions were proved completely wrong - the home cooked food was truly memorable. It was simple British pub grub but executed terrifically...I guess you'd probably describe the cooking as home-style, made with real passion and without any daft pretentious touches which would've been out of character with the setting. My pie was utterly delicious and everything on the plate was home made. I scoffed the lot! Can't recommend this place highly enough for simple and honest home cooking. My beers were superb too...well kept and both ales I tried were tasty. This place is a real find!

The menu is imaginative, the food is high quality, the portions generous and the prices are good. The wine list is also good for such a small village pub.
