I was in green gate on 6th and7th of October it was terrific just 12 days later it was abysmal service it took an hour and a half to get our meal the lamb bhuna was too salty we complained and it was changed surprise still salty, the staff were great although they got our drinks wrong overall we felt that we didn’t matter or how we felt about our service but what a difference a few days can make we won’t be back …….

Great price and service was amazing!

Very below par, will not be back. Service was terrible, constantly forgetting ordered items, had to ask twice for cutlery and plates after our food got served and staff generally slow and getting their attention was difficult. The food was just sub standard, should be a much higher standard for the area. A shame because it looked good from the website, not worth a visit.

Enjoyed a lovely meal on a Tuesday evening. Enough people dining to create a nice atmosphere but not overly busy.

Very friendly service and extremely delicious food. I love the idea of having different Indian dishes in the form of tapas so that you can mix it up.

Everything was delicious. We were able to walk in and be seated in about 10 minutes. Highly recommend

Amazing food, great service taking care of us when we came without a reservation. A great selection from the bar, starters as far as the eye can see and mains that caused arguments at the table about which was the best.

Visited this restaurant on 3/10/24 and what a lovely experience. There was a nice atmosphere the staff were very welcoming and friendly. A choice of menus tapas and al a carte we chose al a carte and it was wonderful. I chose chicken korma as I like mild my husband got the chicken biryani and both meals were superb full of flavour and good portions. The Peshawari nan was the nicest we’ve tasted covered with honey. Slightly pricier than normal but well worth it. There was also a complementary small cup of tomato soup which was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place.

Service was great, the guy who helped me was really friendly but the food itself was really sweet? Ordered a set meal for 2 and both curries (one hot, one creamy) were really distractingly sweet and definitely not hot??? Confused

Just eaten for the 2nd time in the green gates merchant city glasgow. This time on an itson voucher. Thought it was wonderful the first time. This time bypassed my expectations. 5 tapas rice nan and drink each. Must recommend 👌. Topped off with an expresso martini. Mmmm

We were in Glagow for 4 days. Everyday had food. Lovely authentic food extremely courteous service nice ambience. Dum Gost Lamb biriani was exceptional.

Third visit this past weekend and won't be my last. Lovely, helpful staff who know their spices!!!! This is now my favourite go to for authentic Indian food in Glasgow city centre. Get adventurous and try dishes you wouldn't usually, that's what I've been doing and I've had lovely surprises. Reasonably priced and great range of drinks. Highly recommend a visit. Thanks chefs and all staff. ♥️

Dined on a Sunday evening, were offered a welcome Lentil soup which was warm and balanced. We ordered Starters: Soya malai chap : 9.5/10 Pani puri : 9/10 Kolkata kathi wrap : 8.5/10 they were all perfectly prepared with right taste, the only preparation that didn't feel 10/10 was aloo chat, the taste was good but wasn't worth the money to be honest. Mains: Paneer Lababdar : 8/10 (could have been more creamy or cheesy) but it still did taste awesome Punjabi chana masala : 9/10 very well cooked and spices were apt, not too bland nor too spicy. Garlic naan and Roti were properly cooked too. We couldn't indulge in Desserts but would love to try the fried ice cream in my next visit!

The food was really tasty. The service was good, but not outstanding. I liked the goblets for drinking the complementary water which was automatically brought to your table (I wish all restaurants did that!). Would recommend and hope to return.

The staff were so welcoming from the moment we got throigh the door. The food is to die for so authentic and rich and the portions were massive. Servers so helpful in explaining things ie tapas menu even though we didn't go for it. Would defo be back and recommend it to anyone who hasn't been before.

I booked a table over the phone for myself and my baby for a quick lunch but it turned out to be the worst experience. Waiting at the door for 10 minutes table wasn’t ready, another 20 minutes standing at the bar 30 minutes in total. I sat at the table the girl who took the order had no clue about the menu, 3 times she went to ask someone else about my questions. Ordered a drink it didn’t come, I asked again after 20 minutes of waiting than after it came. The table I sat on was in the middle of the restaurant, 3 waiters bumped into my baby's chair kicking and moving the chair with the baby inside, I got very frightened as they also had hot food, and heavy plates in their hands. I asked to move the table which they did it very fast. I sat down, the food came 50 minutes after asking a few times. Extremely chaotic service and the staff seemed very stressed. I had a few bites and asked for a takeaway box as at that point my baby got tired and started to cry. The food was quite salty. The lamb was hard to chew. I didn't want to complain about anything, I just wanted to leave, I paid and I Left. The girl who served me was sweet but maybe she was new.

Great food!! The butter chicken is a must have as well as the mango Lucy. Plus, as a tourist I got totally stuck there at night and they went above and beyond to make sure I got to my hotel safely. It was more than customer service- it was a group of generous and kind people.

Had a family birthday meal here. There were a choice of menus. The 'tapas' menu looked very good but on this occasion we decided on the 'dine in' menu. Everything we had looked and tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly and looked after us. They even gave the birthday girl a complimentary sweet treat to end with. Would recommend that you visit.

My husband and I were eager to find some top-notch vegetarian cuisine, and we were absolutely chuffed to come across Green Gates Café. The food is superb, with ample portions that left us completely content. The restaurant itself is wonderfully charming, with a beautifully curated aesthetic, and the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making our visit a thoroughly delightful experience.

Food is simply to die for. In our week stay in Glasgow we visited twice and ordered different dishes each time, all of which were superb. Cannot wait to return back to Glasgow for a third visit to this magnificent restaurant.

Absolutely authentic and tasty food. While we were waiting we were served with the tastiest tomato curry soup, which was an unexpected treat on the house. A great start to the meal. Everything that followed was rich with unique flavours, and worthy of another round. Will return for sure.

Meat in the curries is lovely, garlic naan delicious too. Service was really slow though and we were waiting over half an hour for our starters. The tapas menu wasn’t available on a Saturday night, which isn’t very clear from the website.

If you’re a brown person, better don’t visit here. The staff is highly unprofessional and biased against their own. We went there 5 times out of which 4 times, the mutton was raw, staff never brought us soup even after repetitive reminders. Our family member had mushroom allergy, even after mentioning it, they brought us mushroom soup on the table. HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE! Staff will treat you lightly and will take you for granted, will keep you waiting for hours, while the table next to you will be served before you even after arriving after you. Extremely disappointing experience!!! Once on ordering food home, they only sent half the stuff, and never compensated for it. I won’t recommend if you’re a brown!!!!

Had Tandoori King Prawn, served with rice and curry sauce,, the quality and quantity was very good , service very good too.

Wouldn't recommend, ordered a fried chicken tapas for £8 which wasn't fried, tiny (4 tiny pieces) basically equivalent to just bits of boiled chicken from a curry. Then the curry itself just wasn't impressive at all, very dull despite costing almost £13 (not including rice), ive been to cheaper curry houses and gotten far better food. Also, the waiter threw a spoon on my plate and walked off... Kinda caught me off guard 😅 Not great value, not great food, there's definitely better curry to be had in Glasgow

The food is delicious and exceptional service as well by Afifa! Veg and non-veg main dishes were tasty as well. Haven’t tried many other dishes from the same location but veg food that I tried at the other location, was really tasteful too.

Amazing food, amazing service! My family and I loved this place and it was one of the most memorable trips on our vacation. The servers went above and beyond for us. Great value, great food. If we’re in Glasgow again, we will be back.

I recently visited green gates and had an extremely disappointing experience. After placing our order, we waited for an hour before the food finally arrived. During this time, the staff showed no sense of urgency or priority towards our table. The customer service was the worst I've encountered, with inattentive and unresponsive staff. I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for timely service or decent customer care.

Tried just about every vegetarian thing in the menu (and there’s lots!). Food was amazing, service great. I’m not from Glasgow but may have to come back just to eat here again!

It was a busy Saturday evening when we visited and the service was a little slow, but the food well worth waiting for. The chicken tikka masala and mango chicken dishes were especially delicious and the vegetable pakora (and its sauce) was light and tasty. We had just enough space to sample the Gajar Ka Halwa dessert. Full of flavour and highly recommended. Prices are reasonable too.
