Great Wall in Newport

Food and the quality excellent. Placed a telephone order for over £50 worth of food and arrived on time for collection. However, waited a further 20+ minutes after arrival to receive my order. Appreciate they were busy etc but found that alittle too long for telephone order. Hopefully better next time and ashame as was lovely as it normally is.

Order a meal usually spot on but when it 2an half hours late and told its only just beening cook and there not going to take money off the bill and rudely told by woman on the phone let's this place down

Consistently good Chinese. Good portion size and speedy prep.

Food usually good but recently chips dried up as if they had been reheated. Last time we ordered my roast spare ribs were practically incinerated. My husbands chicken curry had a strange unpleasant taste . Most of the food went in the bin.

Best Chinese I've had for a very long time. Definitely going again . Have reccomended to all friends and family. Large portions and very reasonable prices

Not nice food.only had chips and rice with curry sauce.chips tasted like they were from the day before and had a few spoonfuls of curry!!

Absolutely awful tonight, everything was dry and burnt. Absolute waste of £27.

Really enjoyed the sweet and sour prawns , and the prawns with tomato’s were good too. Friendly staff and explained how long it would take.

Ordered for the 1st time tonight. Food was piping hot,fresh and tasty. May sound weird but the egg was still runny on the top of the chow mein, had egg on pleanty of them before but never still runny but i love a runny egg. 10/10 :)

Had a delivery from here last night to Newport truck Stop have to say the chicken and pork fried rice was too die for plenty of meat and the curry sauce was delicious would definitely have give a 5 star rating only for the fact that the delivery driver got lost and chips were a bit cold but definitely order again

One of the best in Newport, special fried rice is awsome.

Other meals have been fine but had 1 sat night load of rubbish, both myself and my wife threw both our meals in the bin.

Been ordering from here for a few years now, and it's fair to say that I haven't been disappointed. Very clean takeaway. Very welcoming staff. And the best of all amazing food. I refuse to go to any other chinese. Favourite meal is beef and pineapple, with chow mein. 10/10.

Used this Chinese since 2010 , went in tonight to get my normal meal of fried rice no egg (each to there own I just don't like the taste of egg) was told no they won't make it because it won't taste of anything . How can you go into a food establishment and be refused food . Doesnt make sense to me . Laughable really . And no before its said about being allergic to egg ... it's dangerous ... I know this I just didnt want egg in it like i havent the last 9 years of using you!

After 2 hours of waiting for delivery turned up cold. Avoid!!

Been ordering from them for over 6 years but tonights service took the mick quoted an hour for delivery and took nearly 2 no apology offered and the person answering the phone said an hour was a guess and was rude and abrupt on the phone no way will I be returning to them especially after sending us cold food as well

My favourite Chinese in Newport, I've tried them all but this is the best, Chum Ho not too far behind

NEVER EVER EVER ORDER FROM THESE JOKERS. THEY NEVER DELIVER ON TIME OR EVEN WITHIN 40.MINS OF THE DELIVERY TIME.

I ordered Salt & chilli spare ribs, roast pork fried rice, pineapple fritters & a bottle of coke. The delivery was on time with a very pleasant delivery man. The food portions were huge! I separated it into halves which gave 2 very good portions. The food was piping hot apart from the rice which was quite warm but rice loses temp quickly. The pineapple fritters were lovely, the pineapple was sweet. I would definitely recommend them & will be ordering from them again

Food was okay, delivery time was appalling taking nearly 90 minutes to arrive and staff were rude when I rang to ask how long my food would be.

Delivery a little slow but food was great. After we discovered our favourite takeaway had a 0 hygiene rating (seriously worth checking out round this area -worryingly high number of zeros!) we've been looking for a decent one with a high rating. Looks like we may have found a winner with this place!

Delivery is terrible and the communication between driver, restaurant and customer is very bad... But food is lovely, so if you can wait I'd say it's half worth it

50 minutes late but the weather was terrible and a Saturday night. Quality of the food made up for it.

Ordered at 6.20, arrived at 8pm. Food ok but not good enough to warrant the long wait.

Small order of crispy duck and blackbean mix. Plum sauce very good and the duck was fairly nice but I hate it when leek is used in place of spring onions. Beef in the blackbean was fairly ropey but the chicken and pork was good as was the sauce.

What meal? no meal, no satisfactory contact details, eventually success !! one free voucher, one meal delivered after complaints nearly 3 hours later !! we made our own meal in the end. Not worth bothering with ! Buyers Beware !!

My delivery took over an hour to arrive, they put my can drinks on top of my soup, which cracked the lid and leaked all over my pancake rolls. The duck was really fatty and grisly, I would not order from them again, I didn't enjoy the meal.

Use this place all the time, food is consistently good and service is friendly. Usually order for collection and food is always ready within stated timeframe (15-20 minuets). Would recommend.

Originally said it would be 45 minutes, this got pushed to 1hr15 minutes, which I was still ok with. 1hr 20 I call them and they said it's around the corner. 1hr 40 minutes later call again, said it would there soon, obviously does not have a clue.It's now 2 hours later and still nothing, and no answer on phone now, so cancelling it.

There food is always good but delivery was a let down. It was like they forgot our order when we phone to ask where it was.

Food took TWO HOURS on a Wednesday night. Had to chase up twice. Not good enough.

Driver didn't come up as he couldn't be bothered to look out for the correct block but he apologised. On the other hand the food was tasty and came nice and hot, this Chinese takeaway is the only one with a food hygiene rating of 4 so very pleased with that. Think I've found my regular.

Great food, great service, and very fast delivery

The spring rolls were dripping in oil, they put to much filling in them so the insides were spilling out. I ordered over £10 but did not get my FREE prawn crackers.
