Chicken Satay , King Prawn Curry, Chicken fried rice . All delicious, hot even after a 15 minute journey home. Portion sizes generous particularly the chicken fried rice . Very good value

Food not up to standard, chicken fu yung very salty and full of onion and what looks and tastes like leeks. Pork fu yung was very chewy and tough prawn crackers were like cardboard. Very disappointed as not had food from here since September 2023. Don't think we will be back

Special curry & Szechuan chicken both nice. curry had a nice little kick. Fried rice on point & got a phone call 18 minutes after I placed order to say it was leaving the shop for delivery to caravan site!

Eaten from here many times over the years and it's no question the best Chinese takeaway in Berwick. Very generous with the portion sizes and it all tastes amazing. I always recommend getting the battered salt and chilli chips - only place that makes them right!

Just had a chow mein from here- worst ever- layered with thick gloopy gravy and don’t know what the meat was! - never again- awful - it’s in the bin!

Despite what most reviews say, this is still a very solid Chinese take out. The foods very good and if I had to recommend something it would be the dumplings. The staff always get it done promptly and it's overall a great place.

Food very bland chips half cooked curry sauce lovely but very little of it for the price

Completely tasteless and the rice had the consistency of microwaveable in the bag. We left the majority of it, the only thing we finished was the prawn toast. A waste of £35.

Such a disappointment to my taste buds and wallet. £43.50 for dry pork and duck. Baby bang yang dry with rice, duck pancakes with thick unpourable sauce, chips obviously frozen not fresh, no taste, kids couldn't eat the chicken ball said they were yuck. This was a treat, money is tight. Can't believe I spent so much on something so awful. 😢

Absolutely banging meal. Stopped by on a off chance while looking for a scran after finishing a long day of work. Orded food and though it's a little bit pricey but we see how it go. We'll we got back to the accommodation and opened our food to find meals fit for a king. Honestly the counter staff should be warning us that a meal is fit for 3-4 people not just one. Honestly amazing food but again for too much for little old me lol. If I'm ever back up this way deffo be stopping by again

Food use to be lovely and always enjoyed it but after just getting what we just did I won't be back. Salt and chilli munchy box was pretty much all just chips with very little flavour. Bbq sauce was disgusting Sweet and sour chicken was completely different from there usual. The only good thing was the spring rolls Prices have shot up for rubbish food and charged £15 for delivery even though they said it was alot less when asked when ordering £50 wasted

Best Chinese in the town, we had beef blackbean and chicken fried rice tonight, it was lovely, we enjoyed.

Purchased Beef Green Peppers Black Bean Sauce and Beef Chow Mein , Fried Rice normally food great, tonight a disappointing meal as full of chilli, as we put this on top of the noodles and rice , it was far hot to eat between 3 people £26 wasted put in bin. The Great Wall not happy to refund full amount , very disappointed with new owners attitude!

Not sure what's happen to this place in the last month or so. Normally food is great , but now when you order a meal it's pot luck what you get, I've ordered duck with mix veg a number of times and it's a different meal every time, same with other items on the menu . Take over Hell. This take away always served lovely food. Awesome. I'm sorry to tell you that a few weeks ago I ordered 3 dishes at a cost of almost £30 that went in the bin. Disgusting. I said nothing and thought it was an off day. Today I ordered two dishes one of which was a noodle dish, they sent the equivalent in a rice dish for someone who has a rice allergy. Not only that, I tried it and it was absolutely awful. Went in bin. For me I only ordered rice and curry sauce because I didn't want a repeat of my last experience. Dry fried rice with roughly 3 egg cups of curry sauce. Bin. I went on the phone and sadly was rude to the receptionist who is always lovely but I'd had it up to the neck. Another £15 in the bin and I had to cook. Never again. I ask you to be aware that this has been taken over and the food has no standard whatsoever. I wouldn't give it to a beach dog. There are other Chinese takeaways in Berwick. Try them.

Really enjoyed the meal. we were staying in Spittal Was recommended and exceeded expections . Very tasty

Ironically they serve the best chips in town, portions are generous and standard dishes are ok but avoid the salt and pepper squid, prawns or chicken wings, they are inedible, tried a couple of time, often get prawns despite ordering squid, they are over cooked, hard and the salt level is so high, you can’t eat it and I am a salt lover! I have ended up throwing them away every time. So stick to the basics and keep your expectations to average/ok and you won’t be disappointed.

Having used this Chinese take away in the past I must say I wouldn't risk using it again, lovely sized portions but 2 of our three meals that we purchased were inedible due to the amount of salt so a nice meal was totally wasted. Had the counter staff been more pleasant then we would have taken the meals back but this certainly wasn't the case. Definitely room for improvement

Nice Chinese takeaway used to be the best in town. Stopped using when the started putting chilly peppers in the Black Bean Sauce and including way too many onions. Usually very quick with orders.

Normally I would give this takeaway 4*, but recently front of house not so good. Tonight, for example, very small area to order and collect, there were three customers and a guy standing inside waiting on there order. The guy, who wasn't wearing a face covering, was drunk/drugged and smoking and asking the staff for a cigarette. This gave me a concern, what is allowed to go on in front of house, goodness knows what happens in the kitchens and prep areas. No covid information available. No QR code check in. I certainly will not be in a hurry to order here again. Also, cash only? Card would and should be in place at the moment to help stop the covid spread. Think twice before you order from here.

Put the lot straight in the Bin, phoned Great Wall and the woman said after i complained..YOU SHOULD AV CHECKED IT !! She didn't care. Placed an order Last night, 30 mins wait time. Collected my order and drove 5 miles home to find WRONG ORDER, I drove back in constantly trying to get through on telephone, finally got an answer driving down Ord Road,explained to the woman on the counter that she gave me the wrong order, she said my correct order was still at the shop, I asked if she would arrange to cook the order again from fresh as I had driven 5 miles each way, she said it had just come through from the kitchen. I arrived at the shop and again I asked her to confirm it had just come through from the kitchen, she replied YES, check it if you want ! Think she expected me to open the sealed bag open the lid from the container and stick my finger in the dish to confirm it was hot in front of a shop full of customers OMG , I said no I would take her word for it. Drove another 5 miles home SUPRISE SUPRISE food warm chewy disgusting. Phoned to complain and the woman behind the counter said, I told you to check it ! No apology she didn't care.I asked for the manager to call me, its now 1pm the next day....NO PHONE CALL

We phoned in our order as we travelled in from coldstream. Once we collected and got home we realised our order was wrong. Phoned in to inform them of the mistake, only to be told they don't make what we ordered!! Then why say you did and take our money?!! The meat was very fatty, some inedible! We will not be back and do not recommend wasting your money.

We found the food disappointing! The beef in black Bean sauce was over salted and tough.,the duck in plum sauce was all fatty and gloopy . Non of it was enjoyableoverly deep fried starters. We wasted a lot of what we ordered. Fatty sugary and salty. Heart attack food!

Ordered meals for 4 people tonight from this take away as the best one was closed for the evening. Well, it was disgusting to say the least ! Curry was so salty it was inedible, sweet and sour like water, chow mein swimming in vile gravy. Mushrooms tasted weird. The salt in the food is horrible, would have taken it all back but it's all in the bin !! Also far too expensive. Definitely will not be going again.

Popped into the great wall chinese takeaway tonight and greeted as always by a friendly smile, the staff are super busy at front of house phone never stops on certain busy times, but they greet every phone call with a friendly hello, beautiful meal everything was superbly cooked even though the cooks must of been very busy, the only Chinese to visit in Berwick by a country mile, got my order with a smile, whatever those lovely ladies get paid it needs to be doubled no trebbled as they take the busy times with a smile, don't know how they do it great job ladies 😊

Just amazing, great value great dishes

£28 for 4 dishes. Shredded chilli beef was chewy instead of crispy. Prawn Balls were really over cooked, batter was rock hard and the prawns were orange in colour and chewy where they were over done. Special chow mein was nice but had gravy poured on top of it for some unknown reason? The sweet and sour chicken HK style and the Prawn crackers were lovely. Couldn't fault them

Been visiting Berwick for quite a long time now .. we usually like to try places new to us , ( with the exception of our real favourites ) this takeaway is on our never again list after just the one visit . The food was simply awful not being to hungry we decided to share with extra chips , uuuurrrgggghhhh ! We had the house special fried rice and it was so special it was incomparable to anything we have ever ordered from a takeaway before . The rice was covered in a sauce of some description that wasn’t very nice to smell , that and the rice were all mixed together into some kind of yummy glug . the so called meats amongst it were beyond ghastly never in my life have I seen such small prawns ( all 6 of them ) bits of chicken that tasted as if it had just been recovered off a greasy carcass the other meat-s were frankly awful . The chips would have been ok-ish had they not tasted of stale grease . All at a cost of just under £10 . Reading some of the reviews of others one wonders if it’s our standards that are to high or others to low ... for if tonight’s awful serving was par for the course one has to wonder if regular customers can heap praise on this awful food what would they say if they really did eat good wholesome food from such places . No offence just trying to make a point . Terry

Needed a big three carrier bag order for a family gathering of 12 and they did themselves proud. Cooked in 30 minutes on a busy Saturday evening and deliciously so! The duck was the standout but it was all good.

I feel like I have to share this feedback. Their salt and pepper chips are banging!!!! Like salt and pepper chips battered! Amazing! Highly recommend trying!!!!

Ordered from here twice and the quality varied dramatically. first time was reasonable food. Second time the sweet and sour sauce was too spicy to eat? The Kung Po was terrible. Soup was good though. Mediocre at best. If you have to have a Chinese then it's OK.

I always thought of the Great Wall as the best Chinese in Berwick but after last visit, I’m not so sure...best curry sauce maybe but nothing more than that.1/4 aromatic duck for £9, this is restaurant prices and it wasn’t very crispy and to be fair didn’t seem to be very much of it, more like an 1/8th.We ordered one of their Thai dishes and one of their Chinese and couldn’t tell the difference, both bland- not a scent of Coconut Milk or Lemongrass in the Thai, whichever one that was meant to be.Didn’t want rice but wanted to try their salt and Chilli chips- the photos showed chips covered in pieces of Chilli.What we got was chips that were covered in batter, what a fantastic way of making something unhealthy even more calorific, they should just change the name to deep fried Cholesterol.Chicken breast curry- nice sauce, but I don’t think chicken breast comes in diced sized cubes, I suspect this was cheap frozen chicken and not at all chicken breast.It’s a real shame to see a decline in standards here, shall be taking my business to the other Chinese close by until it gets back on track.

30quid on food which was absolutely vile whole order was binned. Phoned to complain and told would get noodles free next time. They can keep them wont be a next time

Nearly a year since my last review, but nothing has changed. The food is plentiful and tasty and very reasonably priced. There is a very extensive menu and the service is fast, efficient and friendly. Still happy to recommend

Avoid ordered saly chilli chips got bits of old batter with salt chicken curry salty and crispy shredded beef solid nearly broke teeth peking sauce tasteless

Got food from here last week whilst in Berwick for a family weekend. We all love chinese but we all left most of our meal.. it was pouring with grease and the BBQ sauce had no taste at all. Not great.

Probably the worst, so called, Chinese meal we've ever had, beef was so tough our German Shepard had to spit it out and have a look at what it was before his second, successful attempt at eating it, every thing, including the oddly coloured baby sweet corn was tasteless, avoid the place,

Good food, excellent portion sizes, and good prices. Try the Thai special 'Ma mung' it is similar to satay but with a little more kick.
